Tues April 3, 2012 Signs of the End

Some of His disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said, "As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another, every one of them will be thrown down." "Teacher" they asked, "When will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?" He replied: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and 'The time is near.' Do not follow them. When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away."

Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, Tuesday and the day we pray for a cure for all diseases, and different today, we pray for people who put some of those diseases upon themselves. Now let me explain that one. Now we have a lot of cancer, some of it folks are helping along. Take my late brother, he started smoking at the age of 14 and smoked all his life, until he was told he had lung cancer, but it was too late and he died from it. And with all the warnings, those of you who smoke and need help to quit, I will be happy to list you for prayer and list by "first name only." Also skin cancer, and a lot of young people are getting it. Cause, too much laying in the sun and on those tanning beds. Please cover up when in the sun. Now please don't think all of the diseases or all of the cancer are caused by ourselves by our habits or things we do. Also please pray for my dear Aunt Romaine Lehman who is having work done on her pacemaker today. The pacemaker went dead and surgery will be required to fix it. Please keep praying for Pastor Larry Hale, as he returns to his heart doctor tomorrow. Prayers also for the following with cancer: Valarie, Lonewolf, Ronald, Allison, Noah (infant).

Remember the scripture last week where Jesus wept as He entered Jerusalem and I said that Jesus set many examples for us to follow, one was men can cry. Today I stood and really bawled and cried and cried as I held one of my dogs while she was "put to sleep." Margaret, one of our poms and the one named after my mother was really hurting from a very large tumor and surgery was not an option as she had other problems that would have prevented that. This little pet had the cutest face I had ever see on a dog, and she still had big bright eyes. Grant and Wanda helped us bury her in our pet cemetery as Dolores and I watched. All of us had a lot of tears. Folks, on this prayer line we have prayed for many a pet, as I know how much our pets mean to all of us.

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive us of our sins, forgive me please of mine. Lord, please send down a cure for all those diseases and help those people stop smoking and doing other things in life that will causes diseases. Please, Lord, look over our prayer requests and heal them according to your will. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Now before I start the message, I must go and get some sleep, please excuse me for a minute, 1:45 AM. Thanks.    Now I can keep my eyes open. God is good, it is now 6:27 AM and I am back. Thanks for the sleep Jesus. Amen.

April 3 Signs of the End of the Age: Luke 21:5 - Some of His disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said, 6 "As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another, every one of them will be thrown down." 7 "Teacher" they asked, "When will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?" 8 He replied: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and 'The time is near.' Do not follow them. 9 When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away." (NIV)

As we look around us in America, in most all cities and towns, we see some really beautiful Churches, Cathedrals, Temples, etc... and they are just wonders to me and I wonder how they were ever built. Some of these beauties had big, big stones on top of other big stones and back when some were built, remember, no big cranes. I can remember going to New York City as a youth, by train (yes, a steam engine was in front for part of the trip).  I remember going into one of those Cathedrals to view it and standing in the back as the guide asked us to be quiet as a service was going on... I did not think much of it back then, not the beauty, that was great, but the church even back then did not have many people in it. Even around our city where I grew up (yes, I really did grow up, well maybe just got older) anyway, beautiful big churches, some still standing today, some right out from our Capital Steps, Grace United Methodist, once even used as the Capitol for a while. (What, no separation of church and state?) And of course the beautiful Saint Patrick's Cathedral.

We, like the disciples back when Jesus walked this earth, we see the beauty and the gifts dedicated to God. Many of those churches have little markers telling who donated the dollars for that pew, or stained glass window... Things of beauty, that I have witnessed over the years lost in fires, or not taken care of because the people of today did not have the money for a roof, and it was left set till the roof fell in. Folks, I am going to be blunt about why some of it happened. When our cities started changing colors and you all know what I mean, when our black brothers and sisters starting coming to the cities and then our Spanish brothers and sisters, and even our Asian brothers and sisters came, our white folks did not go and welcome them in and as the white folks died off or moved out of the cities, the ones who remained could not afford the upkeep and the buildings went bad, just as the church people did by not asking in their brothers and sisters of another color. So of the buildings that were still standing have been bought by some of our black brothers and sisters and are growing and growing and being repaired, and sadly some have been sold off to become churches that do not look at Jesus as their savior or they believe in gay marriage, etc. But friends, when Jesus comes back those buildings and that is what they are, will all come down.

Then the disciples asked when will this happen. And Jesus told them,  "Watch out that you are not deceived, for many will come in my name claiming I am he and the time is near." Then Jesus gave them this warning and it is of course good today because, yes, because Jesus is still the same today as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow! And the warning was/is DO NOT FOLLOW THEM. Do we see any of those folks today? I want you to think about it, some of the occults where the leaders had a flock following them and then they were all told to drink poison and they all died. And there were others. I even wonder about, and dare I say this, Al Sharpton, whom never once did I hear him talk about salvation, but he is always out stirring up troubles when he could be calming things down.

Folks do not be fooled because when Jesus comes back we will know Him and here is how we will, first the graves open up and the dead in Christ shall rise to meet Jesus in the clouds, and the sea will give up its dead, then those remaining alive who love Jesus ARE OUT OF HERE. So if you are saved and you are seeing someone saying they are Jesus, you know there are a fake. And yes, there will be wars and rumors of wars. Have we seen any wars in our times? Oh, yes, and rumors of wars? What about Korea again or Iran, to name just two. Folks, more tomorrow on the signs of the end of the age. But folks, do not worry if you are saved and if you are not saved, tomorrow we will go over those rules again... but you can do it on your own, a one-on-one, heart-to-heart with Jesus works...

Now go forth sharing your blessings and spreading God's word, as we are to do and not worry about the end, just be ready. HEY, I love ya... Pastor Dan. Need Food, 717 691 8200 or 717 991 0754
