"Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who wash their robes!"
Good Friday Morning, my Dear Brothers and Sisters. It is Friday and as RJ Harris tells all on Friday Morning, it is Blessed Friday, and that my friends is a fact. Friday and the day we pray for all those going to work in the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. And please as you pray for God's workers look past your pastor and into all who work for the church, and yes I have said this before and I am going to say it again and again, WE ALL NEED TO BE ON THIS PRAYER LIST...
Ongoing prayer list: Anna Troutman, Don Saylor and his family, Pastor Charles Idler and his wife Katherine, Vicki, those in our military.
Thanks for all those who wrote in a blessing list yesterday. I was starting to believe that no one was reading the messages. However, I must tell you that I write them because God has directed me to do them, and as long as he tells me to write, I will keep honoring Him by trying to do my best in what He wants me to do.
I must tell you this, I have been accepted into our Pennsylvania State Police Academy and will be starting school in Hershey Pennsylvania at the Academy on Tuesday September 8th and runs for seven weeks on Tuesday evenings. No, at 68 I am not going to be a State Trooper. I will be attending a citizen school about our wonderful police unit. Why would I do this? I have been praying about being able to work with the police, state or local, as a Chaplain and this just might be God opening a door. Pray about this for me. You see I have been blessed again.
Blessings 5: Revelation 22: 7 - "Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book." Revelation 22: 12 - "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done." Revelation 22: 14 - "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city." 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. (NIV)
Did you ever have a really bad day, one that seem to start bad and go downhill from there? Of course you have! Some people seem to think that we who love and follow Jesus do not have bad days or should not have bad days, but that is not a fact. This is a fact, even on our very worst days we are still blessed, because we have Jesus and He will see us through all of them. On our very worst days we still have those blessings that most have sent into me. Jesus, family, friends, food on the table, a roof over our heads. Brothers and sisters, counting our blessings on a good day is easy, it is counting them on a bad day that we really need to do. I had to remember that yesterday as it took one of those kind of starts. A very dear friend of ours lost her job, and we got that call early. The person was crushed, and we really could feel their pain. Please pray for this person, and yes, I am holding back the name for now. This person loves Jesus above all else and I am sure God will open another door that is much better.
As people who love Jesus, love family and friends, we do indeed feel the pain and hurt of others, and truly want to help carry their burdens, and indeed we should do that. We all need to turn to Jesus daily, on good days and bad, and give Him our burdens daily, and as Christians we need to help others with their burdens. Listen to this brothers and sisters... It is hard sometimes but we need to help others, and NOT JUST our family and friends, we need to help those who hate us also. Yes we need to love our enemies.
What is our greatest blessing, or our greatest blessings? Of course we think of food, or I do anyway, and we think of water and air and clothes. We think of family, friends, our pets, our home and wow, I really like cars and trucks. In my opinion our best, our very best blessing is this, it is the forgiveness of our sins. Yes, our best blessing Jesus died to give us. Listen to this and learn from this example. On our Lord and Savior's very worst day, a day when He was beaten, spit on, cursed at, mocked, nailed to a cross, had thorns put on His head, and was stabbed in the side, we received our very best blessing... FORGIVENESS OF OUR SINS. Amazing Grace, and it is truly amazing...
Now I want to close this way today. When we, and we again means you and me, when we are having a really bad day, a really bad day, let us try our hardest to do this and it will be very hard to do. On our very worst days, let us try and be a blessing to someone else. Put aside our problems even for just a minute and help someone else. I am very serious about this, and I am looking at this as an example from Jesus. He is placing this on my heart, and I never looked at it this way before. When Jesus was dying on the cross, we were receiving and still receive our very best blessing. Salvation through Jesus, forgiveness of our sins... So again and this is worth repeating... On our very worst days, or even just bad days, let us rejoice in knowing what Jesus did for us on His worst day and really bless someone else. Use it for good, and besides being blessed over and over for doing it, because that is the way Jesus works... It sure will make Satan mad. AMEN
Dear Father in Heaven, Our best blessing came to us on Your worst day. Thanks Jesus, let us today be blessed again by asking You to once again Wash our robes, clean us of our sins, forgive us. That is all I am asking today for us, just that, for even on a day when we pray for those going into the fields of harvest, Your best blessing to us is just washing us in Your Blood. Lord, I am claiming the victory of You on the Cross today. Thanks for dying for me. Forgive me, Lord, for sinning against You. In the name of Jesus I pray... Amen.
Now go forth and share those blessings... share and share and share... and brothers and sisters, if today you go to your food pantry and have just one can of something in that pantry, give it to someone and then watch what God does for you... Blessings will come... Love ya, Dan.
PS. If you have just one can of food on that shelf, after you give it away... call this number
