Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I really appreciate that You died on the cross for all of us. I am so thankful that I am born again and I give honor and praise and glory to You for forgiving me of my sins and sending the Holy Spirit over me and to comfort me. Saturday: December 6, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Four)

Luke 1:26 - In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." (NIV)

It has been just six months since Elizabeth became pregnant with a baby who Zechariah has bee told to name John. We remember that Zechariah was not sure if he wanted to believe Gabriel, the angel of the Lord, so when he questioned that this would or even could happen, he was made not able to talk. So now we see this same angel talking to Mary, who we often refer to as The Virgin Mary.

I, Donkey Dan, was sitting where I could overhear what Old Gabriel was saying. It was very clear to me that he said: "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." At this time I pointed out to Clyde, my buddy the Camel and to Moo-Moo the cow that Gabriel said Mary was highly favored, but he did not say she was not a sinner. Now Moo, I call her that for short, believed me but Clyde, he wanted me to prove that because he said Mary never sinned in her short life. Well, I had to show him in the Bible and for that we did look ahead in time. And for that once again I must refer all of you to Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (NIV)

At this time I want to take you back to near the beginning of time, right about the time that my ancestors were getting ready to board the Ark. In the Bible back then we find out that not even Noah was without sin.

Genesis 6:9 - Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. (NIV)

And folks, we just know that old Adam and Eve messed up. You see we all sin, yes, even we donkeys. Old Trigger tried to tell me that horses don't sin, and I reminded him about a few things he did wrong, but that is for another day. Anyway, Angel Gabriel is about to give Mary a message from the Lord. Will it be good news or bad news? I guess we will find out tomorrow. And we are also going to hear from this baby tomorrow, yes, from a baby who is to be called "John." So do you want to sing today? Of course you do, for so many have told me that.

Dear Father in Heaven, I just know you are love and I love You. I want to give You all praise and honor today for all things, and I want to give thanks for them. I just ask today that You help me to witness to someone today and I pray that I will work hard for You trying to lead them to the cross. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Thursday 12/3/15 The Big Trip (3)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. It is great to  have the sun coming in to our window and The Son in our hearts. We are thankful that Matthew is out of the hospital land back to his home. Thanks for watching over us and over this line. Please be with families of those who have lost their lives and also please heal those injured in the attacks by the terrorists in California yesterday. Please, Lord, help those in Washington wake up and understand this is a war against a Christian nation. Please, Lord, bring forth a good qualified leader for the United States next year, or better yet, dear Father, please send Jesus back to get all who love Him. Also, please help us to keep working to get more people to come to Jesus. Help me now with the message and may the messages that You permit me to write on this line help to lead people to the Cross to be saved. Please help me to also get the message dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, sorry about yesterday. Feeling better today and trying to remember that so many people have  more pain than I do and that Jesus also went through a lot of pain to save my sorry self from my sins and mess-ups. Please pray for peace, world-wide peace. Please pray also for our police officers for it is a war out there and all they keep showing us is when one police officer might do something wrong. Thursday: December 3, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Three)

Luke 1:16 - Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. 17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. 18 Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years." 19 The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. 20 And now you will be silent and will not be able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their proper time." (NIV)

Wow, when Gabriel speaks we had better listen. Speaking of angels of the Lord, I just read in an obituary today that "this lady just passed on to become "an angel for the Lord." While that might sound nice in the paper, it is just not a fact. What would have sounded good would have been, this lady was "Born Again" and believed what Jesus did on the cross, and she accepted that.

When Zechariah questioned the angel Gabriel it was like he was questioning the very words of God. How often do we, yes, how often do we question the word of God? I want you to really think about that. How often do we not trust what He tells us in our prayers, and also when we read the Word of The Lord? I am going to spend some time this day addressing myself about this. Maybe you might want to do it also. Look at some of the commands He has given to us. One is that we are to go into the fields of Harvest and help harvest the crop. This crop we are to harvest is the crop of the lost souls or the crop of the lost people, or the crop of the non-believers. You know I better watch my step when I am walking, I would not want my Hee Haw to be taken away. How long has it been since you just flat out asked someone, are you Born Again? Once I was talking to a neighbor,he since moved, but I asked him if he knew Jesus as his personal Savior, and his answer was "I believe in the man upstairs." If you ask a question of someone about knowing Jesus and that is the answer you get, you need to be working on that person.

Another way we might not be trusting what God tells us is when it comes to our giving or helping of others. Think about that one. If everyone was treated just like Zechariah was when he questioned the messenger of the Lord, it sure would be a very, very quiet place to live. Think about this, Zechariah was very old, there were no medications back then to help an old man, and his wife Elizabeth was also up in years. Old Zach, instead of questioning it, should have just said, WELL, PRAISE THE LORD!! And went forth and really enjoyed the blessings of God. Think about it, when we are really being blessed by God, are we not enjoying those blessings? Maybe we better get to a song before God makes us silent.

Tuesday 12/1/15 The Big Trip (2)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I thank You for restoring the contact list to the computer. Lord, I thought it was gone. Dear Father, thanks so much for family and friends and for watching over them. Please be with our veterans, our military, our police, firefighters, and first responders. Please watch over us, Lord, and help us to work even harder today than yesterday to bring in the lost. Please help me now with the daily message and please help me to get it dispatched. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, Dolores and I had a doctor appointment today, and I was singing going in. How can you be so happy when it is raining so hard and you are so wet, I was asked. I just said, "Praise the Lord, we don't need to shovel rain." I was watching our President as he made a speech before he departed France. He stated this lie. He said, and I am quoting, "Each day when the tide comes in, in Florida that the streets are flooding and people are fishing in the streets." He blamed this on global warming. Brothers and sisters, God is in charge of the weather, PERIOD!!!

We, Carry The Light Ministries, have a nice supply of new Gideon Bibles and also a few slightly used. These were donated to us. Also, we have purchased another supply of "Read-N-Grow" children's picture Bibles and they should arrive in the next day or two. Please let us know if you would like to have one. These are really nice Bibles. This is one of the missions we are doing now that we do not have our food pantry. And trust me when I say we miss the food pantry. Let me get to the message.

Tuesday: December 1, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Two)

Luke 1:11 - Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him (Zechariah) standing at the right side of the altar of incense. 12 When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. 13 But the angel said to him; "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name of John. 14 He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, 15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth." (NIV)

I, Donkey Dan, am standing just outside the temple and was watching as these events happened. It is amazing what we animals see, and while some people think we don't understand, we animals were given brains by God and we understand and can do more than you might think. Anyway, when the angel appeared to Zechariah he was scared, I mean really scared. The Bible tells us that "he was gripped with fear." Just for a minute here I want you to get still and pray. And while you are praying think of how you might feel if an angel came up to you and spoke. If all of a sudden you would see the angel of the Lord, what would you think?

Now this angel is telling Zechariah that he and his wife Elizabeth will be blessed with a son. Remember from yesterday when we learned that Elizabeth and Zechariah did not have children and were getting old. I know that I was scared myself and I am just a donkey. I was thinking about how Pastor Dan might feel if he was standing someplace, and the angel of the Lord appeared to him and told him Dolores was going to have a child and she is still young compared to Elizabeth. Folks, have you noticed the early instructions given to Zechariah by the angel of the Lord? Let's look at them. First of all Zechariah was told to name this baby "John." He was also told that John should never drink wine or any other fermented drink. MEN, think about this, you are older and expecting your first child and you must raise him up and teach him that he must never drink and you must work at it for it is what the Lord wants. STOP. Don't you think that God would want all parents to raise their children teaching them not to drink or smoke? Even we Donkeys know that, I mean after all, you never saw a donkey colt drinking booze, did you? Also, this special child, named to be John, will be filled with the Holy Spirit right from birth. Neat, right?

Now let me get back to being Pastor Dan again. Do you ever get so excited in the Lord, so full of The Holy Spirit that you can hardly contain yourself? What a great feeling. I can remember one time we were singing at Manor Care in Camp Hill, PA, and our grandson Keith Jr. was with us. He was about 14 then. We were singing "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder" when a senior got up out of her wheelchair and danced in the Spirit. The staff said they never saw her walk without help. She was wheelchair bound. Brothers and sisters, the deeper you fall in love with Jesus, the fuller you will get with the Holy Spirit. And when you get full of the Holy Spirit you can put all else aside.

Tomorrow we are going to take a look and see what might happen when we question something that God wants us to do. It is interesting. Meantime, I am going to get some oats and hay and go to bed. Hee Haw. Let us sing this one today.
