Tuesday 6/3/14 Going Up!!

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You very much.  Please forgive me of my sins.  Thanks for a beautiful day, and thanks for a great appointment with my doctor.  Please bless her and her practice.  Thanks for a restful evening on Monday evening.  Please be with our dear friends Grant and Wanda and lift them.  Please be with Vicki, the Saylor Family, the Crockett Family, and all of our flock at The Bridges.  Please help me now with a new message for this week and then please help me to dispatch it.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, it is one beautiful day here at the southern location of the North Pole.  Dolores and I went to the doctors today and under the guidance of God, my doctor drained 47cc of fluid from the knee and then she injected it.  So far, no reduction in pain, but we keep praying.  Again, I still have both of my legs and knees and that makes me very, very blessed.  The title of the messages this week will be "Going Up."

Acts 1:9 - After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight.  (NIV)

Please, brothers and sisters, take time to get out your Bible and read Acts 1:1/12 as this week we are going to be talking about the ascension of our Lord Jesus and the orders He left behind for His disciples.  And I want you to remember we are the disciples of today.

A man passed away and went to "Jacob's Ladder" to make the climb to heaven.  At the foot of the ladder he was greeted by an angel of the Lord who handed  him a box of chalk and was told although he was forgiven of his sins, there was a blackboard at the top of the ladder and before he would go into heaven he should read over his sins and cross them off as he remembered them.  On the way up a man coming down tramped on his fingers.  Where are you going? asked the upward-bound man.  "Down for more chalk," replied the man going down.

During this week, I hope to cover some of the events of those 40 days Jesus spent walking the earth from the time He was risen from the dead and the time of his ascension.  I want to cover how He was taken up, and go a little deeper into just how He is coming back.  I will give you all this word.  He is not coming back riding a Harley and going to the bars to get the sinners as one preacher told me one time.  He is coming back to get we who are "saved, "born again," "washed in the blood," we "saints," "we who really love Jesus," and trust me, He knows who we are.  So that is the layout for the week.

Now go forth and do your homework, and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please share that love with others.

Pastor Dan
