Dear brothers and sisters: This line started years ago as a prayer line. Today, Saturday, June 28, 2014, I ask you to pray for these requests.
The "Haiti Mission Team" from Lighthouse Baptist Church is about to leave for, yes, Haiti (tomorrow morning). Please cover these folks in prayer daily.

Friday 6/27/14 Restoration 4
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Please forgive me of my sins of today and help me walk nearer and nearer to You. Please watch over all those who are traveling, and Lord, be on the road with all folks as we enter the big holiday week coming up. Lord, be with families, and Lord, be with all those who work for You as they walk out in faith into the fields of harvest. Lord, help Pastor Larry staff their Vacation Bible School. Lord, be with our people, and Lord, please hold me up, let me lean on You even more. Again, Lord Jesus, I love You. Please now help me with the message and then help me to dispatch it. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Good Friday evening, my dear brothers and sisters. It was a good day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and tomorrow, like most all Saturdays, we are expecting families to come and pick up groceries. We, with the help of others, purchase most of the food that we give to the needy. This morning I saw a good buy on hot dogs, so I called and ordered a few. 250 pounds of them. All folks coming to the food pantry get hot dogs, maybe because I love hot dogs. They also get a lot of canned veggies. Tomorrow's families will receive six brown bags full of food, plus some bread, and those hot dogs. But above all else what they will be sent out with is prayer and an anointing from God, through our hands. EVERY PERSON who comes for food gets in a prayer circle and we pray for them. No exceptions. We are not government funded, and the government will not tell us we cannot pray with them. SOMEONE PLEASE SAY AMEN ... The most important food we hand out is the "Bread of Life." The love of Jesus. We also have Bibles for those who do not have one. Please pray for the Ministries of Carry The Light and for God to give us the strength to Carry The Light of Jesus into the world, right here from our home. Thank you. Now on to the message.
Friday: June 27, 2014, Restoration (Day Four)
Galatians 6:1 - Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (NIV)
Let me once again look back to that 1957 Chevrolet two-door hardtop of my dear friend Tom Mozer. As we wrap up this week's messages on Restoration, I want to point out that his car, the beauty, would not be fully restored until some of those last parts would be in place. Be you have the body off frame restoration or not, it really does not make a difference for my writing, but what does make a difference is this. All this work on this car or any other that is restored would not move from the spot, if a battery that is "fully charged." A Battery that is in place and will fire that engine. As in a person, it takes many, many parts, but from my thinking, what good did it all do if one would drop in a battery that did not have "life in it"? Would you take a beautiful restored '57 Chevrolet or any other restored antique car on the road with a "dirty old battery" that has poor connections that are covered with rust and acid? Of course not! So why let others, people, your best friends, go out without being "fully charged"?
As I look at our scripture of today, we are being instructed, and again, "brothers" in the Bible means brothers and sisters today, we are being instructed to help our sisters and brothers who have fallen into sin. Remember all that help Tom needed restoring that car? Different people did different things on it, while Tom worked on many, many pieces.
When one of us, one of us who slips and falls into sin, be we saved already or who have never come to Christ, our brothers and sisters in Christ are to come in and gently help restore the one who has fallen into sin. We are warned that when we go to help one who has fallen into sin, that we also do not get taken into sin. We must understand that the devil has these things he puts in front of us to try and make us stumble. Let me try and set up an example here. Maybe you have a friend that has a drinking problem, and they have fallen into sin at a local pub. They do not stop for one drink but are hanging out in that bar for hours and hours spending all their money on booze. You decide you are going to go and belly up to the bar and try and bring your brother out of that sin, but while talking with him, people start buying you drinks. Don't go to a place where you might be pulled in, get to that one who has sinned on at least an even playing field, and also take other brothers (sisters) with you to talk to the fallen one. Do you see where I am coming from?
So this week we talked about how the body is rebuilt, not just on the car, but our body. How we shower up, get shaved, (not an option for everyone) and we are looking really good, but so far we are not "fully restored," our restoration is not finished yet. What is really missing? We have not put that battery in. We have not put in the one that "makes us come to life." Of course I am talking about our Lord Jesus Christ. We are one body made up of different parts, but if one of those parts is not Jesus Christ, then the other parts will not work together over a period of time. That restored car might go down the road for a time with a worn dirty battery, but sooner or later, and more than likely sooner, it will come to a stop. The same with a person, a person who is trying to go it alone without Jesus.
I want to tell you right now, I would much sooner have an old car with a dent or two in it, but one that has a new fully charged battery in it, so I know it will at least start. Yes, I would sooner walk as I do, struggling to walk, but walking with Jesus, knowing He will, as long as I am faithful to Him, hold me up and keep me going. Forget about that beauty on the outside for what good is it, if you do not have Christ in your heart? Sooner or later you will find yourself at a dead end in life, and you will be looking for a way up.
How about it, why not complete that Restoration today, right now? Yes, and you just knew I was going to end the series this way. You are all waiting for it. So let's do it. Let's come to Christ to be renewed. Let us get "Fully Restored" right now. Let us install that new battery, that one that is full of life and the one that will never discharge. The one and only one with a "life-long promise that will never fail." Ready?
Dear Father in Heaven: Please wash me white as snow. Wash away all my sins and come into my heart this day. I love You, Jesus. And I pray in Your most wonderful name, asking to be fully restored. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Please pass on my love.

Thursday 6/26/14 Restoration 3
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Please wash my sins of the day away. Thank You, Father, for doing that. Dear Lord, please be with our traveling family and keep them safe. Watch over all families, our online flock, our flock at The Bridges, and please watch over all of those who are in need of food that come to our small food pantry. Thank You, Lord, for all things. Lord, I am very tired and I need You to send me a message and also keep me alert and awake as I work on this message for You. Please then help me to dispatch it. Also, Lord, our copies of "Our Daily Bread" went missing in the mailing. Please help and protect our reorder. Lord Jesus, I pray for Matthew and in the name of Jesus I pray he will come back to You and get out of the Muslim religion. Lord, I have not heard from Bobbie in Florida for a long time. Please watch over her. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen and amen.
Good evening, dear brothers and sisters. What a great day we had today. It started out with God waking us to live another day. I then took our antique hearse (I still ride in the front, thank you) to our local food store to fetch their day-old bread and goodies to bring home for the food pantry. It was a great haul. Next off to The Bridges where Pam joined us for a gospel music sing-along. Martin Martin Jr., our youngest Yorkshire, went along. A good time was had by all. Back home and then after lunch down to the food pantry to put all the bread in freezers. God is good. I do admit that at our age, it is getting harder to "move," but praise God we get it done with the help that God sends us.
Let me just take one minute of your time and tell you that I love all of you. Each day I want to write more and more for God. I have a growing passion to work those fields of Harvest. If after 20 years of writing daily messages, only one person would come to Jesus and be saved, then all of the time was worth it. Again, I really love all of you, and a lot of you I have never met. Now let me get to the message, Restoration.
Thursday: June 26, 2014, Restoration (Day Four)
1 Peter 5:8 - Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. (NIV) (NIV = New International Version)
For the past two days we have been talking about restoration and I have been talking about my friend Tom Mozer's 1957 Chevrolet Two-Door Hardtop which he restored, with the help of others. We have talked about different stages of those cars, and if his car had a "Full Restoration." As I recall it did not. If my memory serves me, the body was not taken off the frame. Again, his car was beautiful and the frame was in good shape.
In our scripture today we are told this: "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." We are to be self-controlled and alert. Just before I started to write the message, Dolores sat beside me and prayed that I would be alert for this and to get the word out. But we must be alert looking always for Satan and his workers, and trust me when I tell you that Satan has lots of workers with lots of ways to get after you. He will attack you at your weakest point and if he cannot get we who are saved, he will go after ones we love. We must have self-control, and brothers and sisters, in today's world, in traffic it is easy to lose that self-control. We who have a Christian emblem on the car and then lose control and get mad on the road, we might give someone the "bird." To be fully restored, we must do our very, very best to walk with Jesus. Please do not let your guard down.
As for that '57 Chevrolet Two-Door Hardtop, if it were parked out on the lawn for a picture and then let it parked there for even a year, we would see rust starting to form. Let's look at this scripture:
Matthew 6:19 - "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal." (NIV)
This beautiful car needs to be garaged and taken care of so the rust does not get to the frame and moisture get to the interior. As I have told you, I am a motor head and yes, I have some old cars. Last year when I pulled the cover back on my old Caddy "Humpback" which is stored inside my car barn, the headliner had fallen. I have also found mold because of the dampness. So what must be done? Well, I must take it to the people who work on headliners.
Now let me tie these together. We must stand guard, and while we do not put on a coat of wax, we must put on our armor of God. I will talk about the armor of God in another message, God willing. We also need to get fuel. That antique car will not run without fuel, and we cannot either. Gas goes in the car, we eat food, good food, and yes, sometimes the gas comes out of us. (Just seeing if you are awake.) Again, we have tools to protect us from Satan. First, and above all else, we have JESUS, yes,the great protector. We also have our Bibles that we can read and study. And yes, we can pray and talk to Jesus, and we should also go to church, and again I say a good church. We can also have Christian friends in our circle of friends. Here is a bold statement. You are better off with less friends than having friends who do not walk with Jesus.
Our scripture of today also tells us this: "Resist him, standing firm in the faith because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings."
Here we can see that we are to "resist him," meaning resist the devil and we are to stand firm in our faith. It also tells us that our brothers (sisters) all over the world are under attack. If you watch the news, you will see this daily. And as for that thief stealing things. You better watch that old car for those '57 Chevrolets are rare, and someone might steal it. Brothers and sisters, we need to watch over our families and cover them daily in prayer. Regardless of where they live, where they travel, cover your family, your friends, and even your enemies in prayer. And yes, when you hit the road in your daily driver or that restored '57 Chevrolet, please take time to pray before leaving home.
Enough for today. Tomorrow, getting FULLY RESTORED, in our Restoration message. What parts must be restored to finish our restoration?
Now go forth and share your blessings, and pray and watch out for Satan. Love ya. Please pass on my love.

Wednesday 6/25/14 Restoration 2
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You very, very much. Please forgive me of my sins and help me repent and each and every day come nearer and nearer to You. Dear Father, our prayer requests have not changed since yesterday, so Dear Lord, I refer You back to them. Today, Lord, is a day we call Salvation Wednesday, so I ask that You would help we who are born again to seek out the lost and the drifting and bring them to Your feet to be restored and saved. Lord, please help me now with the message, for I cannot do it without You. Then, Lord, help me get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Good evening, my dear brothers and sisters. Please look back at yesterday's message for the prayer list. I did not receive any new requests today. Remember it is Wednesday and we call it Salvation Wednesday, a day we pray for the lost and pray for we who are "born again" to work to bring in the lost to be saved. We need to remember that while we can and should be working the fields of harvest for Jesus, Jesus is the only one who can save that lost soul. God is good. As I am typing, God is watering my tomatoes, which by the way, I picked my first ripe tomato two days ago. That was just five weeks after they were planted by Mr. Green Thumb, Grant Crockett, and taken care of by our Lord God and eaten by yours truly. I indeed want to get right to the message today on Restoration, so let me have at it.
Salvation Wednesday: June 25, 2014, Restoration (Day Two)
Psalm 23:3 - He restores my soul, He guides me to the paths of righteousness, for His name's sake. (NIV)
Psalm 80:3 - Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us that we may be saved. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, yesterday I was telling you about being a "motor head" and about having vehicles, some of which I helped restore, although I never did what one would call a "full restoration." I referred to my friend Tom's '57 Chevrolet and how he restored it. I also talked about vehicles and parade cars which pretty much looked great on the outside but otherwise have been untouched.
As I sort of compare those vehicles being restored to we people, let me start on that. Let's say:
We have a vehicle that is running but maybe never even gets washed. Would you believe we have people like that? They go on day after day after day and don't even take time to wash up, take a bath or put on some smell good stuff.
Then we have vehicles that are running well, maybe have a few dings and bangs on them, but they are washed up and really still look pretty good, it might even be the family work vehicle. Let's compare that to a person who works hard, gets some bangs and cuts and a few black and blue spots, but when done working they take that shower, brush up that hair and put on some nice clothes. Looking good on the outside, anyway.
Now let's talk about that car, that while in the course of restoration has the engine and running gear pulled and cleaned, the fluids changed and even rebuilt as needed. Compare that person to one who has been to their doctor who told them what they need to do to keep on moving. Maybe they need some fluid changed, and the doctor has told them it is time to be drinking a lot of water and it gets to flushing out your system. And of course back in my days of youth, I was given some cod liver oil once a week to have that good "cleaning out."
I want to run one more comparison today and that would be that good old work truck, or car, or even a bus, that still works hard, really hard, on the outside, but on the inside the engine is worn. It is really working hard, but in the end, all that work, and the vehicle will just end up in the junkyard as no one really took it to be restored. Let me compare that to someone who works really hard all their lives, they might even work around their church, they would help people, but never really got restored by our Lord Jesus, they did not get to know Him one on one. This person is heading to hell, for we must know Jesus, not just know of Him.
Now along comes a few to the rescue. Recently, just within the last two weeks, a call was received at my former service station, which my son Keith still owns and operates. It seems someone is working to restore our very first service truck, a 1951 Ford half/ton. It still had the Lehman logo on the doors as it was resting in a junkyard someplace. This truck if all goes well is going to get to, well, be born again. But for that truck to get what is needed, the person or persons need to know what they are doing. Sometimes it is necessary to haul that truck or vehicle to a few different locations for different kinds of work. You know, like the body and paint shop and the seat cover shop. As for me restoring a truck, well, I painted that one that was in the junkyard, but when it came to rebuilding the engines, it was my late brother who would help me.
Then as we look at that person who worked hard but was heading to hell due to the fact that you "cannot" work your way into heaven, along comes a "born again" Christian or two who will take this hard-working person under their care and see that they find out about our Lord Jesus. In short, they are trying to rescue that person from the gates of hell. This might even be a team of people, like, say, Dave, Duane, and Neil, who over the years have helped lead many people to the feet of Jesus, or helped keep them on track. Another team might have been Doug, Tim, Pastor Larry, and I mention these teams of men, for indeed they all had and have a hand in keeping me on track. All of us need help in our Christian walk. Even we who are "Born Again" need to be picked up and talked to once in awhile to stay on track with our Christian walk. And I got a lot of my fire power from those gospel singers, I really did. They have been a great help and of course there are others.
Now all of this is going to come together by Friday, so please stay with me. For now I am going to take a look at Psalm 23 again.
Psalm 23:2 - He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters. (NIV)
The green pastures will be my bedroom, and the quiet waters will be my bed (water bed). No, I do not have a water bed, unless one of my doggies whizz in it.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Please pass on the love.
Pastor Dan

Tuesday 6/24/14 Restoration 1
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Please forgive me of my sins. Thanks for a great and wonderful day spent with dear friends. Please, dear Lord, be with families as it seems that the devil is trying his bet to divide them. Please be with all those on our prayer list and answer them according to Your will for us. Lord, I need to add a few more requests which I will list with the others. Please, Lord, help Pastor Larry get the help needed for Vacation Bible School at Glenvale Church of God. Please, Lord, be with President Obama as I pray for his soul and pray that he is saved. Protect him, and please help him get his mind on our country. Please watch over our troops and keep them safe. Father, thanks for answered prayers on traveling mercies, and Lord, we pray that blessings keep flowing. Be with the school class going to Spain. Be also with the following who need Your touch: Vicki, Danelle, Tara, Glenn, Ken, Don, Carman, Grant, Wanda, Dan, Sharon, Eleanor, Bob, another Dan, Leann, Matthew, and so many more, dear Lord, and now, dear Lord, please bless me once again with a message to write and then help me to dispatch it. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, what a great day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. The weather was perfect, and our dear friends Grant and Wanda came and we just had a great day. Grant and I took our ministry trailer and picked up food for the food pantry. Wanda stayed back and weeded our plant beds and trimmed the lawn where my tractor cannot get to. This Friday Grant and Wanda will be married 44 years. Dolores came down to our food pantry with lunch and we sat and just talked about how good God really is.
The following were listed for prayers this morning. Please add to that Don Coffin.
Please pray for Vicki who has a very full plate. Danelle (our daughter) is in need of surgery. Granddaughter Tara is on a school trip to Spain. Please cover these kids from Central Dauphin School District until they arrive home. A mission team from Lighthouse Baptist Church will be leaving on a mission trip to Haiti on Sunday. Please pray for them daily until they arrive home the following Sunday. Pray for Glenn Gamber who has a leaky heart valve. Also pray for Ken McNilis who will be having heart surgery on Monday. Please pray for God to lower the pain level for Dolores and also for me. Pray for our nation. And pray that I will be back writing tonight. And yes, I am back, and that is a prayer answered. So let me get started on this new series.
Tuesday, June 24, 2014, Restoration (Day One)
Psalm 51:10 - Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your Salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, as you all know, I was and still to a point am, a "motor head," a "car nut." My big brother Leonard was one of the best "motor heads" I knew, and in high school he was given the nickname of "Wrench." I wanted to follow in his shoes so badly, but the only nicknames I heard were "Screwdriver" and sometimes "Little Wrench." Over the years when I think about the term "Restoration" of course my thinking would turn to cars and trucks, and later on buses. My brother would restore engines and he was good at it. Later on this week, I will tell you about my brother's best restoration.
I could tell you stories for days about restoring vehicles, but let me just tell you about one. This vehicle restoration came after I was called by the Lord to sing, teach, and later preach, and pastor for our Lord Jesus Christ. After a twister went through the area, I was called by Tom Collins who was and currently is the president of the Museum of Bus Transportation, who told me of one of our members' home was hit and he could use some help packing and moving some things. So I joined with a few others and went to help a man who became a dear friend. His name is Thomas Mozer, and I will just call him Tom. Tom had a 1957 Chevrolet two-door hardtop in that Chevrolet Red and White, you know the kind, and Tom was working on restoring it. Some of the work he did on his own, a very few things I helped him with like taking off a part now and then. I also towed with my car dolly his 1957 Chevy to several shops. Slowly this car started to look brand new. Then the day came when it was done and he was ready to show the car, and what a beaut it was. If I recall it was NOT a body off the frame restoration, but almost all else was repaired, fixed, etc., to make that car look and run like new.
Just as a point of interest, while all this was going on, Tom met Diane and they fell in love and got married. Yes, I was asked to perform the wedding. Dolores played for the service. The rest of this love affair for a 57 Chevrolet and of course his new-found love I might bring out later.
When a vehicle is restored it might be a "full restoration" or a "partial restoration." Most often when a vehicle has a partial restoration, it is on the outside. Then that vehicle would look good from a distance, and sometimes we call those a parade car, or I have called some of mine a 25 MPH restoration, meaning if it passes by fast it will look good.
Now let me talk about people, about how sometimes we can get mixed up about being restored. Let's say we head to a barber shop or a beauty shop and we get a haircut and a clean shave (I am surely not talking about me, folks, but I did stop last week for a haircut and they did not have one in my size.) Anyway, we get ourselves looking really good. We clean up ourselves, we wash and put on clean clothes. When I was a child I would ask my mother, should I wash for long sleeves or short sleeves? I just would clean what people could see, and back then I even had some, well, BO, or body odor. Sort of like washing that car on the outside, not even washing the door jambs, and driving past as the worn engine would blow some smoke. While we will not have an old Chevrolet in Heaven, what about the person who just gets restored on the outside? Will that person be like the parade car and when they get called will they just get passed over and not left in? What else needs restored to get you in heaven? Do you have that part restored, or those part restored?
Oh, and on those show cars, what happens when you might stick on other parts? You just know where I am going on this one. But that is for later on, for I have gone on far enough. Please read the scripture of today and look it over, they are all important as we talk about "Restoration."
Thanks so much, for praying. Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Please pass on that love.

Friday 6/20/14 Heading Home 3
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Please forgive me of my sins this day, and I want to give You honor and praise for one of the trips being completed without trouble. I pray, Lord, for those others that are still traveling. Please, Lord, bring two of my dear friends together and help them work out their differences. Lord, You can read me and I just do not want to post the names of these two men who are having trouble in a museum setting. Thank You, Lord, for that. Lord, be with Andy's friends in Germany and help them. Lord, please be with Carman Walker and her family as her dear husband was called home to You. Lord, please help me now with the message and then help me to dispatch it.
Brothers and sisters, please keep Dolores and me in your prayers as we have been very, very tired. Seems I now put in more hours than when I was working. Also, pain levels are very high on both of us. Also, please keep praying that the hackers will not try scamming the computer. I just had a call from someone saying they were from my tech support company and someone was trying to hack my computer. Turns out it was the one calling saying he was from my tech people who told me they will never call. Ladies, here is a tip that might save you trouble. Do not let your purse sit in your shopping cart with the zipper open and your wallet there. Close your purse and if you must set it in the basket (in the child seat) take the little seat belt and put it through the handles on the purse and lock it in. Men, to keep that pick pocket from getting your wallet, put a comb across it. The comb will catch on your pants and alert you. Men, if you are one who carries a purse, use the ladies instructions (but please not their restroom). Please pray for two grown men to sit down over a coffee and work out problems and not do it on the computer. (No names needed.) Now let me try and wrap up the message for this week.
Friday: June 20, 2014 (Last Day of Spring) Heading Home (Day Three)
John 14:1 - "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in Me. 2 In My Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going." 5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. 7 If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him." (NIV)
"Show me the way to go home, I am tired and I want to go to bed. I had a little drink about an hour ago and it went right to my head."
Brothers and sisters, I am not going to finish that song, for that is the only line I remember. However, there are a lot of people who go to bars day after day after day and then go out on the road drunk and try and find their way home. Oftentimes they will find themselves in the back of the "Paddy wagon" which was a name once used for the truck that hauls one to jail. In the city back when I was a kid they had an old black truck that was called the "Black Maria" which stands for "Police Wagon." Anyway, there are many ways to get to your earthly home, and if you got a ride after drinking in the "Paddy wagon," that would take you to a lockup where you could call a friend or an attorney who would get you to your earthly home (with a lot less money than you had). Most of us know how to get to our earthly home, and I say most for, sad to say, some people who suffer memory loss might not do that, and the someone in the family needs to get brave and take some keys from them.
As for heading home to our Heavenly home, there is but one way, just one,and I will bring down the scripture from above. Let me bring it down and work on it.
John 14:1 - "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in Me."
In this first verse, our Lord Jesus is telling us that we should not worry. Don't be troubled and we are to trust in God and also in Him. Now watch as we work on this, and you are going to see how Jesus is God.
2 "In My Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you."
In verse 2 we see Jesus talking about His Father's house, and that would also be our Father in Heaven. He is saying Father has a really big house, or a mansion, and it has lots of rooms. He is also telling us, and we need to remember, that Jesus always tells the truth. He is saying to us it is a fact and I am going to go and get it ready for you.
3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going."
In verses 3 and 4 Jesus is telling us that if He goes and gets the place ready for us, He will come back and take us to be with Him. He is also telling us that we now know the way. So right here we should be starting to see the way Jesus is getting us ready for when we need to be "Heading Home."
5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
Now we see Thomas saying, "Lord, we don't know where you are going," and Thomas could have said it many other ways. Now here is a man who traveled with Jesus and did not get it. We have an advantage over Thomas. Even though Thomas was with Jesus, we have the advantage of being able to read about it in our Bibles and hearing about all these events at a GOOD church and from those who write like myself. (Always, when going to church, carry your Bible and mark scriptures, and the same when I or others write, fact check us in your Bible.) And again I remind you that Jesus is today, as He was yesterday, and will be tomorrow, and that is in my words, and you can fact check that in Hebrews 13:8.
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
To me, one of the best verses in all scripture to be telling you about when "Heading Home" to your Heavenly home, that big mansion. Jesus is telling you NO ONE, I will say that again, NO ONE gets to Heaven without going through Jesus.
7 "If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him."
Look at this, plain as day. If you have seen Jesus you have seen the Father. Okay, one last thing I want to show you, for that we are going to ...
Romans 10:9 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (NIV)
Our walk with Jesus is about faith. Our religion is "Faith Based." We just need to believe it and confess that to Jesus. Jesus paid the price, He is our roadmap, He is our GPS, He is who we talk to on a direct line to Jesus and His Father, our Heavenly Father. I also believe that if we do not close up our prayers in the Jesus name, our prayers do not reach the Father, and I base it on this: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." I believe that means in all of our business in Heaven before we get there, when we talk to our Heavenly Father, we need to put it through Jesus. I pray you can see my point here.
I closing I want to share this with you. None of us know when Jesus is coming back for all of us at once, or when He will call us home one at a time. Or maybe He was not calling right then but a truck hit you. Are you ready right now if it ended for you?
I got an email just yesterday from Carman Walker, a wonderful Christian business owner where Dolores and I get our eyeglasses. On Monday her husband died, and yes, she is so upset as they were married 35 years. But he was not sick, she walked into the kitchen and found him on the floor, dead of a massive heart attack. She is comforted knowing that Duane Walker was also a Christian and his soul went straight to Jesus. I did not ask her if I could write this, but I am that sure of her knowing if what happened to her could be used to bring one lost soul to Jesus, that she would say okay. Your prayers for her will also add to her comfort.
So now is the time. Do you know Jesus? I mean really know him, no games, no I think, I beg you to make your "Heading Home" plans right now. Please, pray with me. If you are saved, use it to clean up your mess of today.
Dear Father in Heaven, I love You and I confess I am a sinner and I believe You, Jesus, have been risen from the dead. Wash me clean this day and place my name in the "Lamb's Book of Life." Then, Lord, help me repent of my sins and walk with You daily. And Lord, help me learn that I am only forgiven by You, the way I forgive others. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Yes, Jesus Loves you, and I love ya also. Please pass on our love.

Thursday 6/19/14 Heading Home 2
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You very much. Thanks for covering my sins with the Blood of Your Son Jesus. Help me work each day to do better for You and to work harder to walk in The Light of Jesus. Father, thanks for bringing Vicki's mother through surgery. Please now heal the rest of her cancer. Lord, please heal Vicki's bleeding feet. Lord, please keep Your hand upon those travelers that we have listed early this day, those of our family and the Crockett family. Please protect other travelers this day. Thanks, Lord, for sending help to us this day, please bless that family. Lord, touch that insect bite on "Little Luke" and heal it. Lord, please help me now with the message and help others in getting ready to head home by spreading that Good, Good News of Jesus. Lord, please help me to dispatch it also. In the Mighty Name of Jesus, I give thanks and pray. Amen.
Sisters and brothers, it is hot today at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and I think maybe the last of the snow has melted. Please keep praying for our nation and also those requests we listed today. Now I want to get right to the message of today.
Thursday: June 19, 2014, Heading Home (Day Two)
1 John 1:5 - This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light: in Him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with Him, yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in light, we have fellowship with one another, and the Blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. (NIV)
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (NIV)
Years ago, I can remember traveling with my parents. They would travel roads by map and road signs. Yes, there were at one time arrow signs at intersections pointing toward different towns and cities. Yes, I do believe that a few of those signs remain up there in Perry County. Then I can remember having a car with a compass in it, and that is the way our ships traveled and I think they still use them somewhat. One of you ship people need to let me know. We also know that at the time when Jesus was born a special star led the kings to the house where the infant Jesus was lying. We have maps and now those GPS gadgets to lead us. However, special written instructions are often needed to travel our roads and not the electronic gadgets of today. Let me give you an example of this. Bus drivers going to certain locations are given "special instructions" by their owners or dispatchers. Here is what can happen. The bus drivers of these really high buses don't listen to the boss who gave them special instructions and they go under a low bridge and take the roof off the bus hurting or killing people. It also happens to truck drivers who fail to follow the special instructions or even those Low Bridge signs and just follow the road that the GPS gives them. I think you get the picture. So why bring it up?
When we are heading home, heading to our Heavenly Home, we cannot find it on a GPS, or a Compass, or even a road map. Not one of those will lead us to our Heavenly Home, not one. Where you will find that information is in the Bible, the Word of God. We can follow His light as pointed out in 1 John 1:5/7 and if we do slip and slide we can read that Bible more and we can just call home, yes, we can call ahead for some help. Today they say men will not stop and ask directions, yet I have seen many of them, and I have done this over and over again, I call home and talk to God. No phone needed, no cell phone or landline. Just call on Jesus. God has already sent His Son, and He has it all lined up for us (John 3:16). We just need to follow Him and those special instructions, and tomorrow we will dig into more of them. Time to close for this evening.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Please share my love with others.

Wednesday 6/18/14 Heading Home
Dear Father in Heaven: Please forgive me of my sins. I love You, dear Lord. Lord, please be with Vicki's mother today as she has surgery. Please be with the Walkers as they travel. Be also with our grandchildren who are or will be traveling over the next weeks and protect them, Lord. Lord, thanks again for healing Ken, even before the doctors got to him. Lord, be with Patsy, Burt, and their children. Be with the Saylor family and with Dan Saylor's wife and children. Lord, so many requests today and I cannot remember them all. Please help me now with the message You have planted on my mind and thanks for resting me. Then, Lord, keep my computers running and help me get the message dispatched. Be also with Nicole and her girls as they are coming our way to help. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear sisters and brothers in Christ. I have been very tired and God set me down from the computer for a few days as He did not plant a message on my mind (what little is there). I thought I would say that before you folks. I have a ton of prayer requests. Please cover our grandchildren in your prayers. We have a lot of them and there is a lot going on in their lives right now. Some are traveling for summer, one is taking a school trip overseas, one is moving and they are really busy. Please do the same with our friends Grant and Wanda, just please cover them and their family with prayers for they also have senior parents, children and grandchildren and all of them need prayers, so please just pray for the Crockett family. Also please, please pray for our president, like him or not, he is our president and he needs covered in prayer. Please pray for salvation above all else. Pray also for our nation. You remember my writing, Wake Up America. We Christians need to be on our knees, even if they hurt, and we need to be praying a lot for our nation. I asked you to pray for Dolores and also me, as we are aging and we have decisions to make in our lives. We know we need to cut back, but we do not want to. So pray for God to give us wisdom and guidance as to where to cut back. Please pray for me to be able to read better and understand what I read. I read on about a fifth or sixth grade level and never have I read a complete book, except some of the books in the Bible. God opens that to me, but when He gives me a message, He helps me but He does not do it all for me. I need to look up scriptures on what fits, etc. Praise God for He will work with all of us, all we need to do is reach out for Him, and He will help us.
I made up some words for a worship chorus and when I get moving around I sing it over and over and over out loud. It goes like this.
"God's gonna heal my knee, God's gonna heal my knee, God's gonna heal my knee, so I can walk again." Now I just keep singing it over and over again and again. I have many other words to it. Someone want to write the tune? Look, I must get to the message. Please remember it is Salvation Wednesday, and the day we all should pray for the lost.
Salvation Wednesday: June 18, 2014, Heading Home (Day One)
Psalm 84:3 - Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have young, a place near Your alter, O Lord Almighty, my King, and my God. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, it seems the older I get the more I look back in life. One thing I try and do is always remember the good things and try not to remember the bad. I know it is hard to block some things from your memory and not others. Yesterday afternoon I was meeting with a few of my classmates planning for our 55th class reunion coming up this August (John Harris High School class of 1959). Of course we always greet each other with how are you, and it seems of late one of my sayings has become, "I can still find my way home." Now while I am somewhat joking on that, it does seem of late I must really think about where I am heading, even when I am heading home. So in the next three days I want to talk with you about making plans for "finding your way home" when you need to do it.
As you leave your home each day, have a handful of corn and drop a seed out the window as you travel so you can follow the seeds back home. Yes, I am kidding, for those sparrows and swallows and other birds would eat them. In our scripture today the psalmist seems to have trouble writing about this one. I will come back to that. Back when I was growing up in Harrisburg (streets dirt, Dead Sea sick) we had a fancy design along the edge of the roof. Mamma would get upset because when the sparrows would come each spring and build the nest, then the side of our house which was red brick, would be painted with some of this "white stuff" or "blue stuff" or some other color depending on their food choice of the day. My mamma would say to my daddy, "Webster," you must do something about those birds. At the end of their season and it was time to fly south again the nests would blow down, and God's rain would wash the red brick. However, each year those sparrows would "find their way home" back to our house and things would be repeated. God built all of this into the sparrow, so you just know He will do even better for us. One of the most hit places in our country by those birds are the churches. It seems to me that those sparrows and other birds want to be near to God's place of worship so they "head home" back to church so to speak. Now the Bible tells us that "even the sparrow has found a home." And it also tells of the swallow building a nest near the altar to have their young.
So God is pointing out to me on this scripture that when our children are young we should be taking them to church, so that as they grow to be out on their own, they also will "know their way home" and in this case I am talking about the younger kids getting back to church. And in church they should be able to learn about Salvation and Jesus and how we need to be heading home. Well, we who believe in Jesus, we who are "Born Again" should already know our way home, but maybe you forgot, or maybe you just need to know where the scripture are found that point it out. The instructions are very clear in the Bible, very clear. But who really needs salvation through Jesus? Only those who want to get to Heaven, that's who. If you do not have salvation through Jesus, let me tell you that the only other place to go is hell. God laid out the plan of Salvation and where it can be found in the Bible. So for right now that is it.
Again I ask you to please, please pray for President Obama, for he really needs our prayer support. Pray first for him to be saved, and then for his safety, and pray for our military warriors as they protect our nation.
Go forth now and share your blessings. Share a hug, show some love to others, pray for our country, and tell everyone you see that Jesus loves them and so do I. Love ya. Pass it on.

Saturday: June 14, 2014, "Wake Up America"
Dear Father in Heaven: Please forgive me of my sins, and please help me with this special that I believe You want me to write. Then, Lord, please help me to dispatch it. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Brothers and sisters, it is rare that I write six times in one week, but our Lord woke me today with a subject on my mind and I was not sure that I was to write it. All day as I worked around the inside of the house and then as we served family after family who came for food today, it was on my mind. After serving the families with Dolores, of course, I stayed outside working in my slow pace until about 5:45 PM. Came in, laid across the bed, and I just could not rest. God reminded me that I did not write this as of now. So let me get started.
Saturday, June 14, 2014, "Wake Up America"
Ephesians 5:14B - "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." (NIV)
2 Chronicles 7:14 - If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will their land. (NIV)
Today is June 14, 2014, and it is FLAG DAY here in America. It is also the 239th Birthday of the United States Army. And while all this is going on, what are some of the things I am hearing? Put it in their backyard, not mine. What am I talking about? Do you see the fighting down in Lancaster County because no one wants a pipeline through their land? But it would be okay if it were in my backyard. The pipeline will carry gas that would help everyone in America. I say my backyard as an example. Some time ago Wal-Mart wanted to build in Lower Paxton Township. They would have purchased Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and their many buildings that make up their school. The price was Wal-Mart was going to build them a new Church and school on land they owned in West Hanover Township. A few people fought it until Wal-Mart pulled out. No new Church and no new school. Maybe later??
You can build that Wal-Mart in some other person's backyard, but for gosh sake don't put it in mine. Jobs are needed all over the place, and in our area also. A big warehouse was to be built along Route 81. It would bring needed jobs to the area. Oh, no, don't build that place here, do not build it here, put it in some other person's backyard. In the meantime, our president will not sign for a pipeline that has been cleared to run from our north border to the south to carry oil to be refined. In the meantime, war has started up again in Iraq, and Iran is to go in and help, that for sure will cause the cost of oil to go up, but that is okay, I guess, but on that day, the big jet is in the air from Washington, DC, to California so that our president can play golf and attend a fund-raising event. Now I know he has controls and phones, etc., in the plane, but can we not take care of business? Please pray for him as he leads the country. Pray hard.
When the pipeline gets shut down in Iraq, Iran, etc., when we cannot get a drop of oil out of those countries and we cannot put our own fighter jets in the air, maybe then people will say, wow, we should have built these things before. Then after they get all things ready with the people the Townships, Counties, Cities, States, and even the Federal Governments line up with regulations that would have caused Noah enough problems that he might be still working on the Ark today.
Don't build it here, there is one speckled frog that lives here. Don't put a big dam across the river to produce electric for it will flood out an island 20 miles up the river and a duck will lose his home. They forget ducks fly and will find another place or live on the water, even in the winter.
Don't cut down those trees to make paper, even though they must replant the trees to stay in business. Don't read the Bible in school, don't pledge the American Flag, it has UNDER GOD in it. Don't do this, don't do that.
"WAKE UP AMERICA." I said, "WAKE UP AMERICA." Yes, brothers and sisters, it is time we wake up and we TURN BACK TO GOD and humble ourselves as the Bible tells us to do, as the inspired word of God tells us to do and then and only then will GOD HEAL OUR LAND.
We have people aborting children, yes, they are children, they are not a nothing in the womb, they are children, children of God. We have men getting married to men, women getting married to women, we have people having their parts removed or added to, and you know what I mean on that. "WAKE UP AMERICA." Each day we see groups of people who say they have no money riding buses to the Capitol steps to ask for more handouts. "WAKE UP AMERICA." You able-bodied people, get a job, and let the able-bodied take care of those who CANNOT work, and let those who just refuse to go to work, not eat as the Bible tells us.
I was contacted just two days ago by a grandparent of a 15-year old asking me where he might find a job. I said McDonald's might hire him for the summer, and his grandmother said he does not want to work at one of those places. People want what they want. People, before you go for a job interview, stand in front of a mirror, take a good look, maybe someone will hire you if you look good.
"Wake Up America." It is time for people to get out of the wagon and help pull and push. There are more people going along for the ride than there are pulling and pushing that wagon. If the pipeline is going to go behind your home, don't fight it, make some food and feed those workers.
If people years ago were to have fought things as today, we would still be like they were in Green Acres. We would still be digging a hold in the yard and building a building on top of it. Hey, that is called an outhouse, and if people would have fought it all, we would not have electric, or a phone, or TV, or if you had them yo would not have power to run them and you would have to fill a tub to take a bath, and yes, you would pump the water by hand and heat the water on a wood stove. Oh, you cannot cut down the tree, I forgot.
America is a country made up of people of all colors, races, and yes, even religions, and while I want everyone to love Jesus, and I will work the rest of my life telling people that I love Jesus, I am still going to love and respect all people because that is what GOD WANTS US TO DO: Love each person, but not their sins.
Tomorrow is Fathers' Day. If you wake up and you can still see out your window, go out and thank God for a great day and a great country. Maybe you should get on your knees and thank God and give the green grass a kiss for you are still on top of it.
While I am writing this, an aircraft carrier with some escorts are heading to the area near Iraq. Next time you see a man or woman in a uniform of our country, tell them thanks, maybe buy them lunch, shake their hand, GIVE THEM A HUG.
"Wake Up America." Our flag is still waving, but for how long? In the near future we will have a holiday, people will call it the 4th of July. Please call it what it is, "Independence Day." It is the birthday of our Nation. When our flag passes by, unless you cannot stand, stand up and put your hand over your heart.
"WAKE UP AMERICA." LOVE OUR COUNTRY OR GET THE HELL OUT. Yes, I said that, and I will say it again. Love our country or get the hell out. However, I would prefer you love it so that I can someday see you and give you a hug. And if I don't see you here and you are a believer in Jesus, I will see you at His feet.

June 14, 2014

Friday 6/13/14 Spanked By God 5
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You very much. Please forgive me of my sins. Lord, please be with Ken McNelis and heal his heart after surgery today. Thank You, dear Lord, for the great reports on Dolores this day at the doctor's. Lord, please be with Beth, Craig, and their children as they get ready for travel to Washington state, and then, Lord, take them safely across the country. Thanks for this day and watching over this line. Lord, please be with pastors, singers, priests, and all others who work in the fields of Harvest for You. Lord, please keep Bob Coburn in Your hands for healing. And Lord, please help me with the message and then, Lord, help me to dispatch it. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, I had an error on my Spanked by God message yesterday. The date of my accident that I can remember like it was yesterday, I listed as December 24, 2014. It was December 24, 1990. I remembered it like yesterday with a "senior minute." Pam picked up on the error as she was posting to our BlogSpot.
New prayer requests in today.
Ken McNelis had open heart surgery on Thursday afternoon. Ken is a board member of the Museum of Bus Transportation. Beth, Craig, and their family need prayers as they travel. Please pray for them daily, and I will let you know when they arrive in Washington State. Beth is the daughter of Grant and Wanda Crockett and of course the children are their grandkids. Craig is their son-in-law. I try and remember each week, but sometimes I forget. Friday is the day we pray for all those who work for the Lord, be they priests, pastors, gospel singers, etc.
Okay, as you can see I have been writing the evening before. So Friday is Friday the 13th. I do not fear any of those dates or superstitions as I have Jesus and He is with us 24/7/365 plus one extra in four. It was all good news at the doctor's today for Dolores. Happy Fathers' Day this Sunday, all you dads!! Okay, let me get going on the message.
Friday: June 13, 2014, Spanked by God (Day Five)
Proverbs 13:24 - He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him. (NIV)
Yes, brothers and sisters, I used this scripture earlier this week. However, it is worth repeating. One of our problems in our schools right now is that parents today do not follow these rules found in the Bible. When I talk about being "spanked by God" let me tell you that all of us right now are being spanked for things that happened years ago when little by little we left our Lord Jesus be thrown out of our schools. Yesterday I quoted my cousin as she listed things that are being turned around. And I pray this will work out. Back when we were kids growing up, yes, back when the streets were still dirt and the dead sea was still stick, we would stand up in class and read the Bible. As I have told so many people, I have never read a book in my life, but God now opens the Bible to me. I was scared to read in front of people, so my dear mamma helped me with the 23rd and the 100th Psalms which I read over and over and over again to her until I knew them by memory, and then when it was my turn, I opened the Bible and turned to one of those two Psalms in the Bible and recited them by memory. Each kid would bring their own Bible and read from them. We had Jewish kids in our class, and they just read from the Old Testament. I had Catholic friends and they brought their Bible. It gave us a start. Then we pledged our flag, which when I went to school had 13 stars on it. No, no, I am older than that. We had, as I recall back then, 48 stars, and the words "Under God" were just being added and I cannot remember when they came in, but President Eisenhower signed it into law (I think).
Anyway, it is going to be hard to put Jesus back into our schools like He was for if kids would now bring their own Bible I would think a lot of them would be reading from the Koran. So we are being spanked by God and think of it each time you hear of a shooting in a school. To put Jesus and the Gospel, our Bible, back into the schools might be as hard as putting toothpaste back into the tube after you have squeezed it out. The other hard thing to do is put words back in your mouth after they come out. That cannot be done at all. The other day our president said something about more gun control in the schools. NO, WE NEED MORE JESUS IN OUR SCHOOLS. I think as we see all the storms that is God Spanking us more and more. I would think by now He is sick and tired of abortions and gay marriages, and I think we are all going to be spanked. Now do not worry about all the rain and the end coming by that because He made a promise never to destroy this earth again, by rain that is. When I see a rainbow banner hanging at a gay function it makes me sick because the RAINBOW IN THE SKY is a reminder to God, from God, that He will never again destroy the earth by water. When we see those rainbows, please remember that is God sending a message to Himself. Listen, I am really on a roll here, but I do need to tell you about at least one more time I and others were "spanked by God!"
As most of you know, I loved buses and still love them. I spent many years with Central Dauphin School District doing two terms so to speak. I retired from their transportation department. Why, I even had my own school bus, back then it was painted green. After I retired from the school, I placed my school bus, which I painted here at my house to school bus yellow (Nation Chrome Yellow) in the care and custody of the Museum of Bus Transportation. I joined the museum and I loved it, I was one of two Vice Presidents and was assigned by the president to be Chaplain and even had an Assistant Chaplain. We prayed before each board meeting and did that for years, praying for members who were sick. In the meantime, the museum had purchased a property near the Swatara Creek, and we knew that the lot was in the 100-year flood plain but the building was raised above that plain. The board voted to purchase the property and all of the buses in storage were driven from Myerstown to the Union Deposit Road location. It was a really neat place. I along with others spent many hours there taking care of the place. Then there were a few new board members elected to the board and one of them complained about the open prayers before the meeting. Right before a meeting one evening my Assistant and I were informed that there would be no more praying before a meeting, must a "moment of silence." At the end of the "moment of silence," I stood up and left in protest, standing at the door and telling them I resign from the board. I walked out. Then it happened, a storm called "Lee" went past and "stalled" over the Swatara Creek basin. Every bus on that storage lot and also in the building went underwater, lost in the flood. It did not hit the Car and Bus Museum where the buses are on the floor for show, which at the time was where my old 1954 school bus was being shown. When I drove down a back road to look in I could not believe what I saw. To this day, I feel we were "spanked by God." What about the other people in the flood area that went underwater? My answer at the time, are they not all sinners? Maybe God spanked them also. I returned when the water went down and helped the best I could. I cleaned up a building with a power washer, and the Lord worked it out that our ministry purchased that building later and we had it trucked to our location and it stands outside our food pantry restored by Grant and Wanda Crockett and called "Santa's House." While I am no longer on the board, I am still a member of the bus museum, and in fact just today I listed one of the board members for prayer.
Did God spank the members who voted against the prayer? I think so, and friends, like each time God spanks us about something, He comes back around and gives us a hug. Look at the building that God sent our way, Santa's House. I am not saying there are non-Christians on the board, I do not know each heart, but I do feel this way, once you go to work for God, He looks at you expecting more. I think I was spanked by God here also, for maybe I should have stayed on the board and fought the issue instead of just "walking out." I am not sure! I still love each member of that board and pray for them.
Now as I wrap up this series, I want to tell you this was a hard one to write, but I knew God wanted me to write it, for the words came easy. What is in store for next week? I do not have a clue, for God has not planted a message on my heart at this time. And I really never know when I sit down what He will give me. God is good and has been so faithful. Happy Fathers' Day, and Lord, Happy Fathers' Day to God our Father who started all of this we enjoy today.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Please pass on my love to others.

Thursday 6/12/14 Spanked by God 4
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Please forgive me of my sins and sinful thinking. Thank You, Lord, for watching over this line. Please keep Your protection upon it. Please be with families and friends and watch over them. Lord, please have Your hand upon Grant and Wanda and help them with their very full plate. Lord, thank You so much for the Bibles that were dropped off t the food pantry today. Lord, thank You for allowing me to work for You. Now if You would please help me with the message and then help me dispatch it, I would surely appreciate it. Oh, and Lord, thanks for the wonderful note I received this day from Martha. All glory and honor is Yours, dear Lord. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, it was indeed another beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. God is so good, our little Morgan is out and walking around the house again today. He is blind, and he is so neat to watch as he walks circles finding his way around things. I also received this note from my dear cousin Martha. You will notice she calls me Danny, which of course is what my dear late mamma called me, unless I messed up, then it started like this, "DANIEL."
"Danny,
I think some things may be changing:
The Supreme Court ruled that prayer can precede public meeting.
South Middleton School District allows announcements and the use of the gym for church sponsored activities for the students. At Boiling Springs baccalaureate Sunday, there were messages or prayers from Lutheran, Methodist, Church of God and Catholic church leaders. At Boiling Springs graduation last night, there was prayer and references to God from student speakers. Mechanicsburg School District changed its policy to allow church related materials to be distributed in the schools. (The article is in today's Sentinel.) They previously would not allow Boy Scouts materials to be distributed. Thank God, the people have spoken. Have a great Week. Marty."
Thanks, cousin, for sending me this, I love you. All honor and glory to God for the start of a turn-around. My cousin triggered my memory a tad and looking back Carry The Light Ministries had an outreach a number of years ago where we paid for a "school bus" to transport kids from Newport Schools to the Assembly of God church for an activity period. Back then they could not have "church related" things in the school. Would you believe that now that same church is renting space in the high school to have church?
Now let me get to the message.
Thursday: June 12, 2014, Spanked by God (Day Four)
2 Corinthians 11:17 - In this self-confident boasting I am not talking as the Lord would, but as a fool. 18 Since many are boasting in the way the world does, I too will boast. (NIV)
2 Corinthians 11:25 - Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked. I spent a night and a day in the open sea. (NIV)
Jesus led me to these scriptures today to help point out how Paul boasted about his sufferings, even though he should not. He said he was acting like a fool. (I have done a lot of that in my life!) I also skipped ahead to verse 25 to show you just how Paul was beaten. Was Paul being "spanked by God"? I don't know, but I do know this, Paul took a lot for our Lord Jesus, and I ask you this today. Would you be a Paul if this were to happen to you? If someone held a gun to your head and asked you, do you love Jesus? What would your answer be? This has already happened here in the United States. It was a schoolgirl and I forget where but she was asked to deny God and she would not and she was killed, shot dead!! I believe this happened in Denver. Dolores and I have discussed this at length, and we both agreed that we would stand firm with Jesus and if being shot is what it takes, then shot we will get.
Okay, as promised I want to tell you of a couple of times I have been "spanked by God." I will also tell you about the "rod" of His choice at the time. (As I write, a really bad storm is moving in. Someplace in this area, people are getting "spanked.")
On December 24, 1990, I had taken the men who worked for me at my service station out to lunch. School was closed for that Christmas Eve day. After lunch was over I returned to my service station, put on my Santa suit and headed for Dauphin Deposit Bank on Route 22 in Colonial Park. Some of you will know right where that is. I was first in line on Route 22 heading east at the corner of South Houcks Road. I as riding a motorcycle and it was very cold. (Okay, so I am a little nuts.) After stopping at the bank, my plan was to go to the K-mart and hand out candy canes to the kids. Behind my motorcycle was a little trailer that looked like a horse trailer. I pulled out from my stopped position, went about on really good size city block and had to stop in a line of traffic. I stopped and I heard the tires screaming behind me. From there things went into slow motion. I was nailed by Grandpa, and God's rod of choice was an Oldsmobile. over the years since that I have been asked "where was your Jesus and why did He not protect you?" Joking, I would tell people that He was on the bike with me, but in traffic He got off to get a soda. Yes, I was joking, but He did ride with me, and He was onboard that day also, for if not, I surely would would have been killed. So why do I think God spanked me that day? Well, folks, over the years He had carried me through so many, many things, and still I was not doing what He really had in mind for me. You see, God has our lives lined up. One thing it seemed I never knew when to go home from work. Well, that sort of ended that day in a hurry. While on the street, I could hear the sirens coming, I must have been out cold for awhile, for I do remember flying through the air, and next those sirens. I could hear kids in a car that hit me yelling "Pap just killed Santa Claus." I remember telling someone to let those kids know Santa would be fine for his rounds that night.
God laid me down that day beside moving lanes of traffic and I was not hit by a car, my right arm was wrapped around the rear tire of a truck ahead of me, and that truck did not move or surely I would have had a crushed right arm. Yes, God spanked me that day and he made a better person out of me. My assistant at my school job, "Chief" Robert Lee Coburn, was on the one fire truck, and he took care of my motorcycle and trailer, then he went to the hospital and stayed with my wife after he called her and told her what had happened. I could hear God speak to my heart that day. "Now you are mine full time." I learned that day to respect firefighters a lot more than I did. Chief Coburn was running into buildings while others were running out. I was one who was running out.
While laying on the street that day, after being spanked by God who used an Oldsmobile, I, a grown man, grew up a little more. My walk to be with God full time started right there on the street that day. Have I sinned since then? Well, yes, I am indeed a sinner just saved by grace and "spanked by an Oldsmobile." I must tell you this. It was about 10:00 PM that Christmas Eve when I was released from the hospital after a lot of testing. I hurt really badly, my Santa jacket was my coat of choice that day. My helmet had been taken off of me at the hospital or on the way in, I forget, but when released from the hospital I asked Dolores to drive me to the fire station as I wanted to see my bike. A couple of young guys were spending time there (they could have been home with family, but they were waiting for calls). I went in, looked at my wrecked bike sitting there with the key in it. I reached over and started it. I went out to the car and there I said to Dolores, hand me my helmet! She said you are not! I said yes I am. I did not put the trailer on, but I got on the bike. Now it was down to about 24 and I started for home. About 15 miles ... I confess that it was one of the dumbest things that this man has ever done. At the first corner I found out the brakes did not work with the foot pedal, but I had a small bit of brakes with the hand brake. No turning back. Well, I arrived home, hit the opener on the garage door and rode in. Dolores parked the car and came in behind me where I confessed that it was the dumbest thing I had done in my life. But that day God spanked me. I did not turn from Him, I turned to Him.
If you think God is not spanking us because we took Him out of the schools, open your eyes and look at all those shootings in our schools. President Obama wants to do something more about guns. Mr. President, sign an order to put "God back in our schools." Yes, folks, as my cousin said, things are turning around. Just think how it could get sped up if President Obama would sign an order.
Enough for today, but tomorrow you will not want to miss. Would you believe it if I told you how God might spank a group of people when they turned against Him? How high is that water, mamma?
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. And please pass on that love.
Pastor Dan
P.S. You will notice every time I mention our President I send him a copy.

Wednesday 6/11/14 Spanked by God 3
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Please forgive me of my sins and start me fresh this day. Lord, it is Wednesday and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line. Lord, please help lead we who are saved to seek out the lost and tell them Your good news about our Salvation. Lord, we really have a job to do for You. Please help us work at it. Lord, please be with my wife as she has fallen again and Lord, I give You all honor and glory that she was not hurt at all. Lord, help her with her balance, please, Lord, help her with her hands so she can keep playing the piano for You. Lord, now if You would please help me with the daily message and then help me to dispatch it I surely would appreciate it. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Good early morning from the Southern Location of the North Pole. It is Wednesday and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line. This is the day we set aside to pray for the lost. If any one of you does not understand what I am talking about and wants to talk about it, please call me. My cell phone number is 717 991 0754. Please do not use that number if you are calling for an appointment to pick up food. That number is 717 691 8200. Okay, let me get to the message.
Salvation Wednesday: June 11, 2014, Spanked by God (Day Three)
Proverbs 22:15 - Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him. (NIV)
Proverbs 19:15 - The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother. (NIV)
Proverbs 19:17 - Discipline your son and he will give you peace; he will bring delight to your soul. (NIV)
Above are three more scriptures that point out that a child needs that "rod" of correction. Proverbs 19:15 tells us we can gain wisdom from the discipline. Again I want to bring out that the "rod" of correction does not give anyone the right to "beat" a child. When I look back on my days of childhood, back when the Dead Sea was still sick and the streets were still dirt, I can remember some things that I heard from my parents and some things I did not hear. I never heard turn the TV off, you are being punished. Why? We did not have TV until I was in Junior High School. However, I did hear go to your room and do not turn on the radio. I would also be sent to bed without any supper, but looking back I think my parents had a plan. If pop was home (he worked out of town) and mom would send me to bed without dinner, dad would "sneak" me a sandwich. If dad sent me to bed without dinner, mom did the sneaking. Yes,I do think they did not want me to go to bed hungry. (If they knew that I had a box of cereal under the bed I am sure I would have been busted good.) Now I promised you I would tie this together today and why I feel that I have been "spanked by God".
Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (NIV)
I use this scripture so often and it is so important to know that our Lord Jesus never changes, and we also need to remember Jesus is our Lord and Savior. Over the years, we change, but Jesus never did nor will He.
Now I could type this scripture out for you but it is very long, so folks, get out your Bible and read 1 Corinthians chapters 12 and 13. These chapters talk about gifts and the kinds of gifts each of us have. All of us have assigned gifts from God. Some folks might not use them. The Bible goes on in these chapters to talk about the gifts, and this is how the scripture ends.
1 Corinthians 13:13 - And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (NIV)
Now I have showed you scriptures about the rod and how a person who spares the rod hates his child. Do you think then for one minute that God in all of His own wisdom would not "spank" us because of His great love for us? And the Bible is very clear that Love is the greatest gift of all. I just pointed that out to you. Look again, "But the greatest of these is love." The Bible tell us is that if we do not have love, we have nothing. I have been told from time to time if you do not "speak in tongues" you cannot get into heaven. Wrong! Jesus is the only way to heaven.
John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (NIV)
Now have I been spanked by God? Yes, and I am going to tell you about a few of them. I also want to tell you that when God spanks you, if you really pay attention, your life will change. Yes, God works through the hands of men, but He also works directly. I have been healed by God! But some will say, healed? You are almost wheelchair-bound! Yes, but my cancer is gone thanks to Jesus. Tomorrow some examples of how God spanked me. A few personal times.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Please pass on my love to others.

Tuesday 6/10/14 Spanked by God! 2
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You very much. Please forgive me of my sins and wash me white as snow. Lord, I am sorry our country put You out of our schools. Please forgive our country, Lord, we can see what is going on now. Lord, please help me with the message of this day and then please help me to dispatch it. Oh, and Lord, thank You for healing our K-9 and giving him more time with us. In Jesus' Name I pray and give thanks. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, it was just another perfect day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Just perfect. God is so good, our little Yorkshire that was so sick has been turned around and seems to be doing better. Understand that he is very old, so each day is a blessing that we have him. In fact, each day we are here on earth is a blessing. We had a great sing-along at The Bridges today. The seniors that came sounded like a choir. Okay, time for me to get to the message.
Tuesday: June 10, 2014, Spanked by God (Day Two)
Psalm 23:4 - Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (NIV)
Proverbs 13:24 - He who spares the rod hates his son,but he who loves him is careful to discipline him. (NIV)
Let me start today by telling you there are several kinds of "rods." I mean if we look at today's term we might think of "street rod." If we look at the Bible we can see the term "rod" being used for more than one thing. In Psalm 23:4 it talks about the "rod" and the rod that a shepherd uses when watching over his sheep has more than one use. They can be used as a "walking stick," they can be used as a weapon when defending the sheep, and of course it could be turned around and used to hook back a lamb from danger. The term "rod" also means punishment or correction. A "rod" can be made from all kinds of material, meaning steel or wood, etc., and most often we find a "rod" is straight and not with the hook on top like in the shepherd's "rod and staff."
As I look at the 23rd Psalm, I can picture Jesus being the one who is holding the "rod and staff" and that brings comfort to me. When a shepherd stood watch over his flock, the sheep knew his voice. Just think about this, our Shepherd, our Lord Jesus who stands watch over us, knows our voice. He knows each and every one of us and knows our voice. So if you are standing in a crowd and someone cuts loose, don't point at the other person, God knows your voice and knows who cut loose with the bad words. (What did you think I meant when I said "cuts loose?)
Proverbs 13:24 - He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him. (NIV)
When I look at Proverbs 13:24 I can only say my parents did NOT hate me, in fact according to this term, I might have been the most loved kid anywhere! Again I want to bring this out, having one's backside tanned is not beating a child. I learned very young that what my parents said was what I had better done. Please remember that the word "rod" means punishment or discipline and that is according to a book I do not use often, the dictionary.
Today, discipline is different than when I was growing up. Today parents use the "count system." Sometime back I was in the food store and a mother was having trouble with her child. "You better listen, I am counting. One, two, three, I mean it, I am counting, one, two, I am telling you, you are going to get it. One, two." By this time I am thinking, hit the kid already and they will listen. I did not say a word, but it was tempting. There was one day I did speak out. A lady came to me and asked me if I would talk to her child and get them to listen. This was done because I look like Santa. Anyway, my answer to her, and I do not believe it just came out, I said, "Can I spank them?" She walked away. I do have fun in the food store, I pray for people, I have anointed people with oil right in the store, it is a very easy place to witness if you are alert to do that.
Anyway, I asked you a question yesterday and told you I would give you the answer. Does God spank? Oh my gosh, I need to hold this over until tomorrow, for I have gone long enough tonight.
Remember tomorrow is Wednesday and that means it is SALVATION WEDNESDAY on this line. Yes, I will tie it together tomorrow but let me tell you this. God does spank his children.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Please pass on my love.

Monday 6/9/14 Spanked by God!
Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for a really blessed day. I love You, Lord. Please forgive me of my sins. Please, Lord, help me with the daily message, and then, Lord, help me to dispatch it. Lord, please place Your healing hand on Bob Coburn and clear him of cancer. Please, Lord, watch over Dorry and keep her from falling. Lord, be with the Saylor family and also with the Emigs. Lord, be with Barbara and heal her from accident injuries. Lord, touch my dear wife and take care of her. Lord, thanks for watching over families, and Lord, we pray our Matthew will come back to You. Lord, thanks for a great get-together on Saturday. Lord, please be with our veterans, our current military, and Lord, watch over our president and protect him from all harm. I pray he comes to you. Be with firefighters and police officers. Now, Lord, please help me with the message. Oh, and Lord, please heal Morgan. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, a few new folks have been added to the line today. Again, if you like what I write, you are welcome to use it any way to help others come to God. If you want to read past days, go to carrythelight4jesus.blogspot.com. There you will find them posted (and my spelling corrected). Okay, getting ready for Fathers' Day next Sunday we will be talking about "Fathers". Let's go. By the way, Morgan is our 22 year-old Yorkshire and he is sick. He is the dearest little guy. We have had him a long time. He came to us from a rescue and he is blind. We have two Yorkshires over 20 years old. And for your new folks online, we pray for animals.
Monday: June 9, 2014, Spanked by God (Day One)
2 Samuel 7:14 - I will be his Father, and he will be My son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with the rod of men, with floggings inflicted by men. 15 But My love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. (NIV)
Well, let me say something to start this message and I want you to remember this. Being punished is different from being beaten! There is a big difference between "tanning" one's backside and beating them! With that said, let me move forward.
As most of you know, I am getting up in years, and I am from the days when if you got a spanking in school and your parents found out, you would get it gain at home, no questions asked. So when my little backside got a tap or two in school, I did not talk about it at home.
Growing up we did not have much money, and w hen I asked for a toy, I did not get it all the time, but I did have toys, some we got at the "city dump" where my daddy would take us on a nice Sunday afternoon and in the summer you might find us there as the dump trucks unloaded. We would gather cardboard and take it to be recycled. Anyway, one of the toys that I was crazy about was those paddle shaped tings with a rubber ball attached with a long rubber band. I just loved those things, and my mamma would see that I had one. Well, dumb me, after the rubber band would break, mamma had a paddle, and yes, my backside would get a tan from time to time.
But my subject this week is "Spanked by God" so I want to ask you this. Have you ever been spanked by God? now before you say no, you better plan on reading all week. I want to tell you right now, I have been spanked by God.
Let me take a look at the scripture for today from 2 Samuel. Let me bring it down for you.
2 Samuel 7:14 - I will be his Father, and he will be My son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with the rod of men, with floggings inflicted by men. 15 But My love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. (NIV)
Here we find the words Father and son being used. This is a special bond between God our Father in heaven and the descendants of David. Here we see God saying I will punish him with the "rod of men" and the punishment will be "inflicted by men." Oh, Pastor Dan, you say, this is not God "spanking" someone, this is man! And yes, that is what you might think. Before the end of the week, I am going to tie this all together for you. Can you figure this out?
I want you to notice that God does say that His love will never be taken away from him. Do you think that it hurts God when He spanks us? When I was a child, my mamma would say "this is going to hurt me more than it hurts you." One time I got an extra swat because when she made that statement my smart mouth said, "why not spare yourself the pain?" As I grew older I began to understand that love and bond. My dear late mamma and daddy loved me enough to, well, tan my backside and they did not beat me. Okay, enough for today.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya, and please pass on my love to others.
Pastor Dan

Friday 5/6/14 Going Up 4
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Please forgive me of my sins and let me come to the table tonight clean of sins. Thanks for watching over all who use this line. Please be with those I prayed for and with in the doctor's office today. Thanks for opening those doors for me to do that and for giving me that gift to be able to pray with folks I never met before. Thanks for a doctor who prays in his office. Please be with Vicki and her family and heal them. Lord, please first heal the family and reunite them so the family gets along together, then after that please, Lord, heal the cancers and other problems in the family. Be with Burt, Patsy, Grant,Wanda, Pam, Eleanor, Bob,Sharon, and Lord, please be with all those coming tomorrow and bring them safely here. Be with Tara at her party, Lord. Touch families this day and watch over them. And Lord, on this 70th year of what we call D-Day, bless all of our veterans from all wars. Now Lord, please bless me with the message of the day and help me with the online communion, and then, Lord, please help me dispatch the message. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters: On this beautiful Friday here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, I must share with you just a couple of things and then right to the message, and remember we are going to start with communion.
At noon today I pulled out from our home heading for my family doctor, Dr. Lawrence Cox, DO. I had pulled my pickup from under our trailer and was driving it. Dolores and I prayed before I left home, as we always pray. I had passed through Mechanicsburg Borough and was heading toward my doctor's, which is down toward York, PA. Just outside of Mechanicsburg, an SUV made a very, very fast turn right in front of me. God, and all glory goes to Him, had me alert, and the truck working fine. I hit the brakes hard and missed the fast turning car by just a few inches. It was really close. God is good! It would have been head-on for me and right front and side door for the driver who made that left turn in front of me. Again, all glory and honor to God. But this was just the start. After being placed in the doctor's office, Doc Cox, as I call him, came in. Now Doc is surely "Born Again," and shows it all the time. First, he asked me to pray for him and his medical assistant. Then asked me to anoint two nurses and pray for them. He could not tell me what was the problem as he would not cross the line of being private with what he knew about them. Then after that I headed out, but before I got to the door they came and got me again and asked if I would come back and anoint a 22-year old young man and this time Kyle and his mother shared his problems with me. His problems were serious. I cannot share them with you, for as a pastor they were given to me just to pray. So pray we did, and all glory and honor to God. Saved by the grace of God, to arrive on time, to pray three times for a total of six people, with all glory going to our Lord Jesus. To top this off, I was not to have an appointment today, they called me and wanted to see me about something. Tell me please one more time how good God is. GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME AND ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD.
Now to the message, Going Up!
Friday, June 6, 2014, Going Up (Day Four)
Today please remember we are starting with communion. So please go and get a piece of bread and some juice or wine, or I am sure if all you have is water, it will be okay with our Lord Jesus.
First we pray. Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins, and please forgive all who are asking right now, so that we may all come to the table clean. Please also bless the bread and juice that will be Your body and Your blood. In the name of Jesus, thanks for dying for us, and thanks for forgiving us of our sins. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Luke 22:19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." (NIV)
Please now take your bread and commune on it. Remember it is the body of Jesus broken in pieces for you.
Luke 22:20 - In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you." (NIV)
Now please drink of your juice or wine and remember it is the blood of Jesus which was and still is this day "shed for you." Yes, still the same today. (Hebrews 1:8)
Now that we have been forgiven and we have had communion, let me talk to you just a minute about renewing in our Lord Jesus. I have been asked over the years, once we come to Jesus and we truly have taken Him into our hearts and we indeed are "Born Again," how often do we need to renew to get into heaven? Brothers and sisters, I am a sinner and I still sin, so for me, I renew each day. That is not needed to get into heaven, He is not going to turn on you for one sin (praise God for that) so unless you deny Him and turn your back on Him and disown Him, He will not disown You. But for me, when I mess up, I just feel after what Jesus did for me, dying for me, I think I should at least say I am sorry when I mess up. That is the least I can do. Now at the beginning of the week, I told you that I would show you how He was taken up and also how He is coming back. I already told you about how He was taken up into heaven. Here it is again.
Acts 1:9 - After he said this He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight. (NIV)
Now how is He coming back? Not on a Harley or in a Caddy.
Revelation 1:7 - Look, He is coming with clouds and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him, and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be. Amen. (NIV)
Every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him. Brothers and sisters, there is only one way to end this series this week, and yes, I will be working on this in the coming weeks. But for now we are going to the Lord in prayer and ask to be saved. Please either come to Jesus or renew today. Tomorrow just might be too late.
Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins. I believe You died for me on the cross and I believe You were risen from the dead. I confess I am a sinner and ask You clean me up. Please in the end save me. Help me repent and walk nearer to You each day. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya, and please pass on my love and by all means the Love of Jesus to others.
