Saturday 5/3/14 Good Guys 4

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You.  Please forgive me of my sins.  Thanks for a wonderful day.  I am so excited about it, all honor and glory to You, Dear Lord.  Lord, please be with Ian and Jendi Sansoni and have Your hand in all that is happening with their adoption of a newborn.  Lord, bless family members as they fly in to be with them, and Lord, please bless the birth mother who chose adoption over abortion.  Lord, be with Brittany and her baby Christina Rose.  Thank You for being with Dolores and me on the Capitol steps today and please bless our military and veterans.  Be with Governor Corbett and watch over him on the road.  Lord, he is a good man, please bless him.  Lord, be with Danelle's young friend "Ben."  Be with Beverly and heal her infection.  Now, Lord, please bless me with the message and help me to get it dispatched.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Brothers and sisters, I am sorry I am just now getting out the message that should have gone out on Friday.  We had an emergency with one of our animals and had the vet come to the house.  I need to bring you up-to-date on some prayer requests.  Tom Sansoni sent me an email asking for for his son and daughter-in-law Ian and Jendi.  They are adopting a newborn and were notified the birth mother was going into labor so the family needs prayer.  Please pray also for the birth mother and remember she could have had the child aborted.  Also I just found out a few minutes ago that Dolores and I have become "great grandparents" again.  The baby was born while Dolores was in the hospital and I did not pick up on the news.  Anyway, if I count right this would be our sixth great grandchild.  Also, Beverly, my dear late friend Dave's mother, needs prayers.  Also pray for "Ben," details to follow.

Once again I was honored to give the invocation and benediction at the Support the Troops rally on our State Capitol steps.  All went well.  Governor Tom Corbett was one of the speakers, and once again God opened the door for me to anoint him with oil and pray for him.  Christian voters in Pennsylvania know that he is "born again."  We have been invited back for the first Saturday in May 2015.  Good Lord willing, we will be there.  Check WHP Radio for pictures.  Now I want to get to the message.

Saturday:  May 4, 2014, Good Guys (Day Four)

Matthew 22:34 - Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested Him with this question:  36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"  37 Jesus replied:  "'Love the Lord your God with all your  heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'  38 This is the first and greatest commandment.  39 And the second is like it:  'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"  (NIV)

For those who missed the first three days of the series, please go to carrythelight4jesus.blogspot.com and you can catch up.  My message about Good Guys started with the parable of the Good Samaritan, and of course that led us to the two greatest commandments.  Once again we see an expert in the law questioning Jesus.  We saw that on our first day.

I do want to point out in Matthew it points out a difference between the commandments.  Number one is loving the Lord and number two is loving your neighbors, or all others.  Just so you know, we should not love anyone more than we love our Lord Jesus.  Then after that, all are equal.  Your family, your spouse, your friends, your in-laws, and yes, even those who have put you down, or even hated you.  We need to love them for they are all our neighbors.  We need to love all others regardless of the color of their skin or the church they attend or even if they do not attend church.  The Bible tells us to take the Good News to all corners of the world.  He does tell us there is a time to "dust off our shoes" and move on, but we till must love those who turned us away.  Yesterday I told you that I would give you some more ideas on how to be a Good Guy.  Yesterday I talked about giving of yourself.  Today I will just give you an idea.  First, pray for people, and then please put "feet on your prayers."  If a person needs food, get them some food, if a person falls, help them back up, and I don't mean falling down, I mean falling, slipping away from Jesus.  In our case where our son not just turned from us, but from God and has turned Muslim, we are praying he goes back to God before he comes back to us.  We will not stop loving and praying for him.  At The Bridges at Bent Creek, where Dolores is minister of music and I pastor, we see so many acts done by "Good Guys."  We see them all the time.  Staff goes beyond the call, residents help each other.  Those who have called the place home welcome new people, and they truly love each other.  It is so neat to see.  I don't believe anyone wants to give up on their home, and then the time comes they need that extra help.  They move to a place like The Bridges, and how they get treated on those first days sets the true tone of loving one's neighbors, and you soon see those frowns and and that of the unknown turning to each other and saying, God is good, and I have some new family members.  Go now and be a "Good Guy."

Go forth now and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please pass on my love.

Pastor Dan
