Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Please forgive me of my sins, and Lord, please help me with a message for this day. I feel drained and am in need of Your touch to keep on writing. Please, dear Lord, please let me continue with that great gift You have loaned to me. Help me to use it wisely, and Lord, I want to be sure You always get the honor and the glory. Lord, please be with Glenn Gamber as he has been taken back to the hospital. Be with his family, Lord. Please be with Dave's wife and family and also with his mother. Please, Lord, also be with Patsy, Burt, Barbara, Mimp, Dolores, and also with me, dear Lord, as we all need Your healing hand. Be with those coming to help pack food on Saturday. Now, Lord, if You would be so kind as to bless me with a message and then help me to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, God sat me down for a few days, gave me some time to rest. Our dear friend Dave went home to be with our beloved Jesus. I know Dave loved the Lord. We had talked about it often. He is home safe and his twisted body is straight and the pain is gone. Please pray for his wife and his family as they are now hurting. Dave was just 49 years old. Please also remember that today is Wednesday and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line, so please pray that God uses you to help bring in the lost. Now on to the message, "Meek!"
Salvation Wednesday, April 2, 2014, Meek! (Day One)
Matthew 5:5 - "Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth." (NIV)
Meek: "Showing patience and humility: Long Suffering: Easily imposed upon: Submissive! (New College Edition, The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language.)
Years ago when I would be looking at the Beatitudes I did not understand some of them. One of the things that I did and I would think many did was think that the word "meek" meant "weak." And I would think why would the weak inherit the earth? Well, let me just straighten all of you out who think that being meek means you are weak. If you look at one real super hero, Superman, he was booked as a meek, mild-mannered reporter. Some might even go so far as to say that Jesus was weak for he did not fight back when it was time for Him to die on the cross. In fact Jesus, if you recall, would not even let His followers pull their swords against those who came to arrest Him. He, Jesus, told them to stand down and when one of His followers cut the ear off a man who came to arrest Jesus, Jesus put his ear back on and healed him. (Luke 22:49/51)
Seems to me, and what Jesus is telling me, is that if we are meek, it means we will follow Jesus by faith and we will walk in faith. It means without questioning Jesus we follow His commands and commandments. It also means that if we are going to be meek and walk with Jesus their will be times of suffering, and it does not mean we are suffering because we are weak. Sometimes we do not understand why we have pain, but we pray about it and we push forward for Jesus and when it is in His will He will take care of our pain and suffering. Sometimes we are called meek, and by those who think it means weak, we are called that because we do not like to argue about things. And while patience is not one of the things I am best at, I do now know and understand when you fully come to Christ, and I mean fully come to Him, we need to have patience and understanding and to wait upon the Lord. Some meek person shout amen. No, you can be meek and SHOUT PRAISE THE LORD. AMEN, COME ON AND SHOUT IT, PRAISE THE LORD.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Please pass on His love.
Pastor Dan
P.S. Please keep praying for our president and our leaders. And it would be nice if they were meek.
