Tuesday 12/3/13 Salvation 2

Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for a beautiful day and thanks for all You do for us.  Please, Lord, forgive me of my sins and wash me clean.  Help me repent this day and walk it with You.  I love You, Jesus, I love You.  Please be with Bobbi, Burt, Patsy, Barbara, Dave, Craig, and Beth.  Please, Lord, be with Carry The Light Ministries as we go forward with our Christmas Food Drive.  Thanks for all the support you are sending us.  I love You,  Lord.  Now, please help me with the message and then help me dispatch it.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Brothers and sisters, we are going forward with our messages on Salvation, and while some might wonder why I am writing about Salvation instead of starting a Christmas style message, I just want to give you this one statement.  "Jesus as born to die so we might live!"  However, for us to live on, we must be born again.  So let me get to it on this Tuesday, and today as we pray and talk about Salvation, please pray for President Obama that if he is not saved that he will come to Jesus.  Pray that way for his family also.  Let's get going now walking with Jesus.

Psalm 62:1 - My soul finds rest in God alone, my Salvation comes from Him.  2 He alone is my Rock and my Salvation, He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.  (NIV)

Psalm 62:6 - He alone is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Fortress, I will not be shaken.  7 My salvation and my honor depend on God, He is my Mighty Rock, my Refuge.  8 Trust in Him at all times, O people.  Pour out your hearts to Him for God is our Refuge.  (NIV)

Here we find scripture that tells us our souls can find rest in God alone.  My Salvation comes from Him.  Brothers and sisters, when our hearts are heavy, when we need rest in our bodies and in our souls, we can find that rest in our Lord Jesus. How do I know this?  The Bible tells me so.  Amazing what we can find in this group of books called The Bible, or The Word of God.  Jesus loves me and He loves you also.  How do I know?  The Bible tells me so!  In Psalm 62:2, The Bible tells us that HE ALONE is our Rock and Salvation.  Now let me tell you that if Jesus is not your Salvation, then the rock is between your ears, for it is getting late and we do not want to put off this getting saved anymore.  It is time, and time is running out.  I mean Jesus could call me right now, while I am typ-------------------------------------------- but thank God He did not.  If we move on to Psalm 62:6, it repeats again that He alone is our Rock and our Salvation. And it tells us that He is our Fortress.  Jesus is my fortress, IS HE YOURS?  IS HE YOUR ROCK AND THE ROCK OF YOUR SALVATION?  Now the Bible tells us again that we should trust in God at all times.  How do we know that we can trust in God at all times?  The Bible tells us so.  The Bible also tells us that we are to pour out our hearts to Him.  In other words, we need to confess our sins, we need to confess ourselves over to Him.  Confession is good for the soul, but only if you confess it unto God.  So tomorrow we are going to have Salvation Wednesday.  I ask you today, ARE YOU SAVED?  Do you know what it means to be saved?  Are you sure?

Where do we get our Salvation today?  Is it different from when our grandparents were seeking salvation, and what about 100 years from now, how will people get saved?  Let's go to the Bible for a few scriptures.

John 4:22 - "You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know for salvation is from the Jews."  (NIV)

Yes, in the words of Jesus we worship what we know and our Salvation is for the Jews and that would be Jesus our Messiah and yes, He was and is and always will be "King of the Jews."  Our Salvation comes from Jesus.  It did years ago for our grandparents and it will years and years from now.  Here is the proof.

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.  (NIV)

Thanks, Jesus, for dying for us.  We love you, Jesus.  All  honor and glory to You this day.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please pass that on.  Pastor Dan
