Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for another great day, and thanks for covering our sins with the blood of Jesus. Lord, please bring me nearer and nearer to You each day. Lord, Leslie needs You to be with her and she needs Your help and protection. Lord, I need Your touch on a snow plow, yes, Lord, a snow plow. Please, Lord, help me to get it working. Thanks for watching over our family and the families of all who use this line. Thanks for walking with us each day and holding onto us each day. Lord, we really want to work each day with and for You until You call us home, and we have a lot to do here on earth. Lord, please be with our president and all of our leaders and also with our veterans and our current military. Lord, please bring peace and bring our men and women home safe and soon. Lord, watch over our police and firefighters. And Lord, please bless me with another message and then help me dispatch it. I really love You, Jesus, I really do. I am sorry if I don't always tell You and even show You by living to please You. Help me, help all of us when we slip. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Good Evening, my dear brothers and sisters. Please remember that tomorrow is election day. Please go and vote. This is to remind you that not voting is giving a vote for the one you don't like. A dear friend of Carry The Light Ministry needs a lot of prayers right now. Please pray for Leslie, and for now, please trust me with the reason. Just pray, warriors, pray. Monday, and the day we pray for our leaders, our veterans, our troops, our police, and our firefighters, and all those who work hard to keep us safe. Pray also for those on our list from last week.
Please pray for our ministry plow truck, or more so the plow. It worked fine last year, but we put it on today and it would not lift off the ground. I still plow snow to help bring in funds for the food pantry. Yes, I really do believe that God can even fix snow plows, or He will give me the strength to get 'er done. God is so good. Well, back to the messages on Jesus Loves Me. Please, when praying for our president, pray for his safety and that he would "tell the truth." Now let me get to the message.
November 4, 2013, Jesus Loves Me, Day Five.
Proverbs 8:17 - I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me, find Me. (NIV)
John 15:21 - "Whoever has My commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me, will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show Myself to him. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, we can see in Proverbs that our Father loves those who love Him. Love, that really nice, wonderful four-letter word. Go ahead today and call someone a four-letter word, tell them you LOVE them, and then you can also tell them that God uses a few four-letter words. Like Hope, Love, to just tell you two right now.
How does our Lord show His love for us? Of course we talked about some ways last week, but let's talk about just a few more today. In fact, let me name just a few ways He showed His love to me today. How many of you might have received this love from Him today also? God woke me, God gave me air, God gave me water, God gave me clothes, God gave me diet cherry Pepsi, God sent me help. God protected us on the road. God sent me riches untold. Okay, that will be enough for right now. Now in that same scripture, our Lord tells us that those who seek Him will find Him. Brothers and sisters, our Lord Jesus is not hiding from us, He is not, you see if we love Him and we seek Him, we will find Him in PLAIN SIGHT.
So how do you find Him, once you love Him? You talk to Him about that love, and you just ask Him to come into your heart and reside there. After that you talk to Him more and more, asking Him to open His word to you, and His word is found where? YES, IN YOUR BIBLE.
Let's move from Proverbs in the first testament, to John in the second testament. Both testaments are new to you if you are just starting to read your Bible. Both get better and better as He opens them up to you.
John 15:21 tells us if we have His commands and if you obey them, meaning if you follow them, then you are ones who love Him. See that, brothers and sisters, it might be nice to just quote them from memory, but what good does that do you if you do not obey them? What good does it do you to know that one is to honor your father and mother if you indeed do not honor them? Here is a really big one ... what good does it do for you to know you must love your neighbor if you really don't love them and show that love? So God wants us to know them and to obey them, both. That is how we show some of our Love to Him, and then it better, look at this now, those who love Jesus, will be loved by His Father (our Father in Heaven), and Jesus will love us also. I could go on for awhile, but that is enough for this evening. Let's pray again.
Dear Father in Heaven, open Your Word more and more to us each day, but just what we can handle. Help us to walk each step with You, and when we stumble, pick us up, please. Help us all to understand that Jesus died for our sins, and also so to meet us. We know You are waiting on us, we know You are ready. Help us to see You each day. In Jesus' name, I pray and give thanks for Your love and blessings. Amen.
