Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for forgiving me of my sins, and thanks for sending Jesus to the cross to get that job done. I love You very much, dear Lord. Thanks for watching over our families, and thanks for watching over this line. Thanks, Lord, for Your hand being upon Patsy, Burt, Eleanor, Bob, Sharon, Dan, Dolores, and Lord, please keep watching over them and healing them. Lord, bless those in our government who have power over us, and Lord, protect Your homeland, for dear Lord, I believe our country has just made a deal with Satan when they signed a treaty with Iran. I pray for our president and our Secretary of State and ask that You would humble them and bring them to their knees as they try and deal with these groups that hate You. Lord, please be with our Jewish brothers and sisters, for this is a bad deal for them and also all of us who really love You. Jesus, please be with Mrs. Obama and their children, and I pray Your protection over them. Please help Craig find a job and help him on this subject of walking prayers. Now, Lord, if You would be so kind to bless me with a message and then help me to dispatch it, I would appreciate it. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, today we need to be praying for our nation and our nation's leaders. Secretary of State John Kerry is surely not looking out for our interests and those of our homeland in Israel. Iran also has an American pastor held captive and our leaders did not even bring it up. Pray, warriors, pray. Pray also this week for all those who will be traveling on this Thanksgiving holiday. Pray also for Carry The Light Ministries, as we are making our final push getting ready for our big Christmas distribution. We have booked over 60 families so far who will be coming on December 14th. We look to have nearly a hundred families on that one morning. Exciting times, folks. Now let me get to the message, "Walking Prayers."
Monday, November 25, 2013, Walking Prayers.
2 Thessalonians 3:10 - For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man WILL NOT WORK, he shall not eat." (NIV)
Walking Prayers? What are you talking about, you might ask? Are you talking about it is okay to pray as we walk? Well, while that is okay, that is not really what I want to say, but it is okay to walk and pray. Just pray with your eyes open so you don't walk into traffic, etc. We should take time to be reverent to God when we pray, but there are times we just really need to be in prayer right then and there, so to speak. But when I am talking about walking prayers today, I am talking about that term our ministry partner came up with years and years ago. She said "we need to put feet on our prayers." Let's start out by using our food pantry as an example. We could be praying each day that those who are hungry would have food and then do nothing else about it. Or we could put feet on our prayers, pray for the hungry to have food, and then go and buy some food for them. Which, I ask, do you think does the most good for the hungry? We pray for them, or we buy a sack of potatoes and put them on the porch at their house? We should be doing both. Then at the same time we should also be trying to teach those who are hungry and need food how to work for it and help themselves.
Now there is another way to look at WALKING PRAYERS. Each day we pray for someone to get a job and we are doing that right now with several folks. We pray and ask God to open a door for the person to find a job for they indeed have a family to feed. But while we pray each day in faith to God for this person, the person does not get out of bed and seek out where God wants them to look for a job. So today I want all of you who might be hungry and if you are an able-bodied person you should be looking for work. This would be a way to be putting feet on your prayers. Today I refer all those who are in need of work and are able to work to the scripture listed above. Also, the job you get now might just be a stepping stone to a better job, or you might climb the ladder of that job location. So while we are very willing to pray for those needing a job, and even providing food until the job is found, and even after that until the bills get caught up ... those needing the job need to get out of bed, get looking good, wear good clothes and such, yes, even wash behind your ears and go get the job.
While I know I will have some people upset with me about this message today, I am just quoting what God has in the Bible, and yes, this is my way of also putting feet on my prayers. Amen.
Dear Father in Heaven, help us to feed the hungry and feed also their soul, but help us not just give them a can of beans but teach them how to apply for a job so they can buy the beans. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings, helping those who need help. Love ya. Pass it on.
