Our Father Who Art in Heaven: Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Please give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory Forever. Amen. Thank You, Jesus, for a great prayer. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: How long has it been since you looked at your driver's license? Take time to get it out this weekend and be sure it is up-to-date. You might be surprised that it has expired. Better find out, then the wonderful gentleman or lady that wears the big hat ... My advice is free, theirs might not be.
Correction from my Independence Day writing. My one Bible verse I referenced was 1 Chronicles 7:14. It should have read 2 Chronicles 7:14. Sorry about that. I never did learn how to count.
Good Friday evening, my dear brothers and sisters. Final reminder about Carry The Light Ministries' annual picnic. This picnic is for, well, anyone who wants to come, and all of you are invited. Meet our ministry team, some of our family, hear Tim Beitzel sing some really good gospel music, and maybe even hear me sing a tad also. Eat some really good home cooking!! Have some turkey corn soup, LBHT veggie soup, hamburger BBQ, and some really good hotdogs. And some Pennsylvania Dutch potato salad. Plus water, sodas, and lots and lots of cake and pie. Music starts at 11:00 AM. Willow Mill Park, off of route 114, Silver Spring Twp., Mechanicsburg, PA. Call 717 991 0754 for directions. Just come, we have plenty, and please bring your family.
Friday July 5, 2013, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Day Four.
So after a week talking about weapons of Mass Destruction, I offer up the biggest weapon as our very own mouths. We are all guilty of this and the only way around it is to humble ourselves to our Lord God, confess this sin of gossip and stay away from it. If you do not have anything good to say about someone do not say it at all.
James 4:13 - Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16 As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17 Anyone then who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins. (NIV)
Boasting is another way we use our weapon of mass destruction, our mouth so to speak. We might boast about things we did or boast about things we are going to do. Folks, please try your very best not to boast or brag, in all things you do that are good, give God the glory, and if in all things you do that are not good, ask God to help you change. As for what we might do tomorrow, we need to make plans, but the final plan is up to God's will. Example, we are planning our annual picnic, and trust me when I say we prayed a lot about it before putting it on our schedule. Now after much planning it is in the hands of God and His will for the day for us to work it out. God's will be done. So we pray for safety for those coming, we pray the weather is good, and we pray the food is fit to eat. And we pray people come and enjoy their day with God and each other. God is so god to all of us and we are so blessed. Come and enjoy a day along the beautiful Conodoguinet Creek.
Today I heard on the news that Pope John Paul was given Sainthood by the Catholic Church. Trust me when I say that He was already a Saint in God's eyes. In fact when you come to Christ, when you become Born Again, that is when you become a Saint. As far as his doing miracles, I am sure that through the hands of our Lord Jesus, this could have been done. One of God's gifts was giving the power of healing prayers to his disciples and we are the disciples of today as was Pope John Paul. Not all disciples have that same gift. Again, in all things what needs to come out of our weapon of mass destruction is PRAISE FOR GOD. All honor and glory to our Lord Jesus, regardless of who lays hands on a person as long as we all know that the healing comes from our Lord Jesus.
Another great day at the food store. Seems I spend a lot of time in our local Giant food store. I no longer can walk the whole store at one time, so I shop one end at a time. I am there a lot also because we pick up food and bread for the food pantry. Today at the Giant I not only got food, but I got to lay hands on two people and pray for them for healing. One, a customer who is also a chef at The Bridges and she is struggling with an aging mother who must now go under hospice care, and the other, the cashier who was struggling with a major headache and I just asked her to lean over and I laid hands on her head and prayed for healing. Brothers and sisters, all honor and glory to God. When God opens the door, please do not be afraid to walk through it. Again, all Honor and Glory to God.
Now go forth and share your blessings, and remember to keep your weapon of Mass Destruction unloaded, and when you do load it, load it with good things. And remember, "get into the word, and not into the world." See you at the picnic. Love ya. Pass it on.
