Tuesday 12/4/12 The Story 9

Good Morning, Dear Lord.  Thanks for another night and thanks for waking us this morning.  And Lord, thanks for letting us help others with the food pantry.  Please, Lord, as we gear up for this, we need You to put Your hands on the food and make it grow.  Help us to help those in need these days as the numbers are growing.  Lord, people need to come to You.  Please, Lord, touch Ruby and heal her and take are of her.  Be with our ministry team and touch each member of the team.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  Are we having summer in December?  How about yesterday and today?  I will take  it.  I love this weather, you get up and don't need to shovel your way out the door.  I would be happy if the next snow was the onion snow, and folks, we could even have small onions, thank you!!  But God is good and will send us what is needed to keep things growing and the wells and streams full of water.  Please pray for Ruby, we just found out she had a few days in the hospital.  Our newest member of our ministry team, Grant and Wanda's grandbaby, came home from the hospital Sunday.  Mother and child are doing well.  All honor and glory to God.  Please keep praying for Matthew, for Vicki, for Dolores, and for our Nation.  More and more our Nation has more people riding in the cart than are pulling it.  One of the reasons is the leaders of our Nation are turning their backs on God.  Brothers and sisters, if our country soon does not get back to God, our country as we have known it will BE NO MORE.  Our land needs healed and the only one who can heal it is God.

2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  (King James)

Pray for our leaders, brothers and sisters, and pray they get back to God.  We need to tell the non-believers to get with the program.  It is TIME WE THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THE LORD STAND UP AND BE COUNTED.  LET'S GET BACK TO GOD!  And then as the scripture tells us, our land will be healed.  If we don't get back to God, look for more storms, more earthquakes, more fires.  Brothers and sisters, pray about it and put feet on those prayers.

The Story Day 9.

Psalm 23:1 - The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.  2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters.  3 He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.  4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.  5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.  (King James)

Psalm 23:3 - He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

One of the things I am getting from the Lord today is the fact that He restores our souls.  Meaning to me, maybe we had to come to our Lord Jesus but maybe did a "walk-about" or a "back-slide" or have drifted in some way or another from Him.  And not just us but our whole country.  I think this points out to us if we ask, He will restore us once again.  I know for a fact I have had to be restored more than once.  In fact, I have been restored a lot.  I am so glad our Lord Jesus is not like that care salesman who tells us that if we walk away from the deal he has offered that we will never get the offer again.  Indeed not, for our Lord has the offer standing before us all the time.  I was told by one of the workers at The Bridges that her 95 year old uncle just came to Jesus for the first time.  Wow, nothing like letting things go to the last minute and taking a chance.  Today I feel my soul is restored, I am walking with the Lord and pray I will never turn away again, not even for a minute.  However, I find it very comforting to know that He will restore my soul when I mess up.

Let's look at that last part of that verse.  He leadeth me.  It seems to me we can be led around by two people, we can be led by Jesus or we can be led by evil, or Satan.  Notice that He leads us in the path of righteousness or in doing right and He does it for His name's sake.  I think we need to praise God for that.  And you can be sure that when we let the devil lead us he will be standing ready to take the glory.  Let's look at prisons, and while there are many people who have come to Jesus after being in jail, men and women did not get in jail by following Jesus, or at least not in this country or not yet, anyway, but the time might be coming.  Those things might change where we are looked up for admitting we love Jesus.

Being a person who was raised by Christian parents but then took a walk-about and came back later in life, I am so glad that Jesus is willing to take a person back and I am also one to tell you that I feel so much better following the footsteps of Jesus than I did when running with the other guy.  Even though I did not break laws that would put me in jail, I was not living to please Jesus.  Folks, God does not have us on a leash, He leads us by setting examples and trying to teach us that His way is better.  Today, will you come to Jesus and ask Him to lead you in the paths of righteousness and do it for Him, or in His Name's sake?

Father in Heaven, please hear our cries and forgive our sins, and Lord, help all who have drifted to come back to You.  Please help our Nation understand that we cannot go on without You.  Lord, please come over our President, overwhelm him with the power of the Holy Spirit, knock him to the floor and let him call out for You.  He needs to lead the Nation under You, and he is not doing that.  Bless him and his family and show them where all blessings come from.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings, and please have a nice day and remember please to pray for our Nation.

Love ya, Pastor Dan.
