Monday 9/10/12 Do Good Stuff!

Dear Father in Heaven, I come to You today giving thanks for a great weekend and a great morning.  I come to you also asking that You clean me of my daily sins and mess-ups and help me repent from them.  I also ask Your hand of protection over this line and also Your hand of protection over America.  As I look back 11 years, I remember what happened, and I pray others do also.  I pray that You would be so kind as to give me a message about that tomorrow.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

When the sun in the morning peeks over the hill, and kisses the birds on my windowsill.
When the Son in our heaven peeks out on us, are we doing things that are good stuff?

Dear brothers and sisters, it is Monday and what a beautiful morning, while each day God makes, and He makes them all, and each day that we can spend on the green side of the grass is always beautiful, wow, today is really nice here at the Southern Location of the North Pole.  Monday and the day we pray for our leaders, all those in authority over us, National, State, and Local.  It is also the day we pray for veterans, current military, police, firefighters, and all those who work hard to keep us safe and healthy.  Please include your family doctor on this list.

Titus 3:1 - Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good.  2 To slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.  (NIV)

Do Good Stuff!  Brothers and sisters, throughout the Bible there are places that tell us to do good stuff.  The Ten Commandments, the Two Great Commandments, we are to feed the hungry and clothe the naked.  And we are to drive within the speed limit and not be texting on your phones while driving.  What, Pastor Dan, are you trying to tell me that we are to drive within the speed limit is in the Bible, and that we are not to text while driving is in the Bible?  Yes, I am telling you just that.

Follow me on this, all of you will agree that we are to DO GOOD STUFF, right?  And doing good stuff goes a long way.  Some things are simple, hold a door for the person behind you, help a person across the street, and this you might do while driving by not running over them.  Buy someone some food if they are broke and hungry.  But not speeding, or being on that cell phone while I am driving, tell me where it says that, Pastor Dan ...  Folks, I just did ... Look at this again.

Titus 3:1 - Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good.

While I am sure you can see the do good stuff in that verse, but you say you don't see anything about those automotive laws.  Let me see, it tells us to be subject to rulers and authorities and to be obedient.  The rulers make the laws, and the authorities enforce them.  Yes, that super trooper, the guy or girl with the big hat, is one of the authorities.

Titus 3:1 - Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers and to obey magistrates.  (KJV)

There it is from the King James Version of the Bible.  Obey Magistrates, and a magistrate is a police officer, and also they can be a district judge.  You can be hauled in before a magistrate.

Now if speeding is a sin, and you say you are only going 10 mph over the limit, is the sin bigger if you are going 20 over the limit?  I don't know if the sin is bigger, but the fine is bigger.  Here is a list that I see often on the road, a list of "sins of the drivers."  Failure to stop, full stop, at stop signs, failure to stop on red, before turning right on red, again a full stop.  Sometimes the lack of a full stop could cause an accident and then that would be a fool stop.  I see speeding and cutting people off and being on that cell phone and texting and running red lights and cutting people off and most of all failure to yield to Santa when he is on his sleigh (just kidding about that one).

Anyway, you can see we are to do good stuff, and we are to obey others, and if we truly love our neighbors, our brothers and sisters, we would not "pop" them the bird if they cut you off.  It is not a good witness when you have your Christian cross or fish on the back of your car and then offer up the one finger salute or wave your fist at someone.  Remember when you drive, and I could say drive to survive but that one is taken, so let me say, let's drive to please God (and our insurance person).

Dear Father in Heaven, we pray today for our veterans, and for our current military and for our leaders, and we ask that You help us to obey those over us and to do good stuff.  In the name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

I pray today all of you are born again believers and that you have Jesus in your heart.  Not sure what I am talking about, call me.  717 991 0754.  Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.
