"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Well, good Friday morning to you, one and all. First, let me get this out of the way... PRAISE YOU, JESUS, PRAISE YOU. I LOVE YOU JESUS! And folks, let me get this going also today. I love all of you, I really do, and I am so sorry about yesterday, I just ran out of gas, not my car but me. Yesterday I was up early, took care of our animals, chicken, rabbit, four goats and one expecting, eleven dogs and six cats (some of them only come to eat). Then it was off and running, left the house about 8:00 AM with two dogs and dropped them at the groomer, then we headed to a funeral viewing. We paid our respects and then off to another memorial service, after which we went out along the highway and picked up on the first funeral heading to Indiantown Gap for a full military service. Only God could work it out so it would come all together without missing a beat. Till we got home it was about 2:00 PM and we took care of animals and check on them. Then I went and picked up the dogs and they looked so nice I took them to talk to people at The Bridges. Getting back home about 5:00 I made a mistake, I laid across the bed. Well, glory, it is morning now. Now I know it took a while to tell you this but it fits right in with the message, you see I really did not worry about this schedule the day before, Dolores and I talked about how we were going to get it done and I said, let's let God work it out. Gosh, I even listened to Him and did not worry about it. GOD IS GOOD, LET'S TRUST HIM MORE AND MORE EACH DAY.
Prayers today for all those working in the fields of Harvest, and Friday is the day we pray for all those who work the fields of Harvest. Trust God to heal folks, trust God to heal.
The Big Trip 12-4, No Worries, 4: Matthew 6:31 - "So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." "So do not worry, saying. 'What shall we eat' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (NIV)
Ok, let's dig right into the scriptures of today. Again today we find in the words of Jesus, Him telling us not to worry. Not what shall we eat, or drink or wear. Now I must ask you, how many of you have had company coming and maybe it is for a big day like Thanksgiving or Christmas and you are the one who needs to put together a big meal. Out in advance you start to think about it, maybe planning a menu in your mind and even writing things down and that is ok, but then you might start to worry about it. No, I at one time would worry about cooking those big meals, but I really don't anymore and maybe because I know God is right at my side. Yes, God supplies what goes in the food, and supplies all the food, and really if you ask Him, He will bless that food as you cook it. Funny how we pray for the food before we eat it, but gosh, should we not be asking God to bless it as we make it? But please, please do not worry about those big meals. Just take it to the Lord in prayer, and let Him help you... No worries, as we saw last week in the Lord's Prayer, give us this day our daily bread. HAS HE EVER FAILED? No, never. And today's Manna from Heaven is not bland, it is great... Thank God for taste buds, and the good food He sends us daily.
Now what about the clothes you are going to wear? Don't worry about them, if you have a tight schedule in the morning, plan ahead, lay them out, but don't worry... And please do this, before you leave the house, and I am saying this for a reason, look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself this, is it pleasing to God? Dress to please God, and if you please God, all others should be pleased...
Then the scripture goes on to tell us not to worry about tomorrow, and that means in all things. Pray about it, and look for God to help you in all you do. Instead of worrying, pray and then "Put feet on those prayers" (Pam Bower) and plan ahead. God does not tell us to plan ahead, He tells us not to worry. He does not tell us to dress down, He tells us not to worry. He does not even tell us what to eat (like our government wants to), He just tells us not to worry. He does tell us not to drink too much, He speaks about and in my words, not being a drunk. And He tells us not to worry...
And now for the part of the lesson for the week that ties it together. "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Again, do not worry, but if we seek out His Kingdom and His righteousness, it will be given to you. Now you do remember from lessons past, John the Baptist telling us REPENT for the Kingdom of Heaven is near, and Jesus telling us REPENT for the kingdom of Heaven is near... And again in the words of Jesus we are being told to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be granted unto you.
What that is telling me, is if we seek out first our Jesus and His Kingdom and His righteousness, then all things, the food, the drink, the clothes and of course salvation will be granted to us. Not just the Kingdom which will come later, but things here on earth. Today as we pray for those going to work in the fields of Harvest, the bottom line of those going out should be to tell "The Good News" of Jesus, and folks, these things we talked about this week that we should also be part of the good news. Do not worry about your food, your drink and what you shall wear and those going out should be happy, for they are indeed blessed to be trusted by God to do His work... and as I do His work today I want to just shout out this good news... I want to follow the lead of Jesus and John and others as I shout out... REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NEAR... PRAISE GOD, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NEAR, and also tell folks, not to worry, for if they REPENT AND ARE SAVED, then one of those big worries is put away. Will we make heaven? YES, IF WE REPENT AND SEEK OUT THE LORD WE WILL BE SAVED. Now listen to this quote from me... and yes you may use it...
"If we LIVE FOR Jesus now, we will LIVE WITH Jesus someday soon." And again you may use this quote and/or anything else I ever write... You will not be blessed more for using what I write, you will, however, be blessed more if you indeed live for Jesus and YOU SHARE YOUR BLESSINGS.
Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks again for the messages that You give us, and thanks, Jesus, for going to the cross for us. Please look over our prayer list, and grant our requests according to Your will for us. In the name of Jesus... I give thanks for taking my worries away, and thanks for the food we have and thanks for the food in the pantry for others, Lord, and Lord, send those forth who need help as we in the Ministry stand ready to help them, according to the needs You have supplied them through our hands and those who support this cause of helping the hungry. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth and have a blessed weekend, and remember to share your blessings. And we are to get a lot of rain this weekend, and please thank God for it as we do not need to SHOVEL rain and that will surely give my wife a break (just kidding folks). I need to say this again today and make it very, very clear to you... I love all of you, each and every one, when I sign out "love ya" I do not take that lightly, it comes from my heart, and so again I will say... Please share your blessings and know that I "love ya".
