February 4, 2011 Who Needs The Doctor?

Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

Good Friday, get to work for the Lord, morning to all of you. Yes, it is Friday and the day we pray for those who are working the fields of Harvest for our Lord. Folks, that should be all of us. If we just look around us in this old world and see all the problems and troubles, and see what is going on over near and in the Holy Lands we know time must be running short. But folks, we do not need to run to those countries to get the word out about Jesus, we need to work hard right here at home. Let me be very bold, the other day in a speech President Obama told folks he was a Christian, and I ask this, how can he say that when he believes in abortion and even final term abortion!!! Folks, if you are indeed a true follower of Jesus, or you say you are CHRIST-like, which is what it means to be a Christian, then people should be able to see Jesus in you. Your smile, the way you carry yourself, the way you act or don't act, and I could go on and on. And the way one votes in Washington can also show on which side of the fence one might stand. One thing for sure, if you believe in abortion, you better go and look real deep into a mirror. Time to repent and walk with Jesus.

Please pray today for Kathleen Sansoni. At the end of the message today I am going to post an update I got from her husband Tom...

The Big Trip 8-4 Who Needs the Doctor?: Luke 5:31 - Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (NIV)

You will recall from yesterday that The Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belong to their sect complained to the disciples of Jesus about going to the home of a tax collector and a sinner to eat. You will also recall that Levi, the tax collector, had a great, or big, or big and wonderful banquet for Jesus and invited many other tax collectors. So why were these folks asking the disciples of Jesus about this and addressing it like they were eating with the tax collectors? Well, more than likely they were, well, going out to dine with our Lord Jesus. When Jesus heard the questions, He answered it as quoted. "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." Indeed if you are healthy, feeling fine, the last thing you are thinking about is calling your doctor. But when your body aches and pains and you have a fever and running like a turkey (turkey trots), then you want to call your doctor. What Jesus was saying was, I want to sit down and talk to those folks, I want to tell them that they need to repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is near, and we need to be telling folks the same thing.

We need to seek out the sinners and talk to them about repenting and sometimes we need to start with the person we see in that mirror when we look in it from time to time. In fact we need to be talking a lot about repenting to that one we see in the mirror, it should be the very first one we talk to about repenting. I think when we go on the road to preach, teach, sing, talk or whatever we do getting the Good News out to the world, we need to start clean for that trip. In fact did you ever just stand in front of a mirror and pray for the one in the mirror? Try it sometime, it does a soul good!!

Let's jump a little in scripture right now and have a sit with Jesus and His disciples at the table of the last supper, in other words let's take communion...

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins and help me to repent of them. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Luke 22:19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you: Do this in remembrance of me." (NIV)

Take now your bread and eat of it... Dear Lord, Your body is broken for us, may we learn to feast on it, and feast on You in our travels. May we always remember You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Luke 22:20 - In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." (NIV)

Thank You, dear Lord, for spilling out Your blood to wash me clean of sins. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You... In the name of Jesus, whose blood was shed, I pray. AMEN and AMEN.

Now get up and rejoice for you are healed of your sins. Repent, sinners, and turn from sin and walk with the Lord... Doctor Jesus has healed us, let us try and not mess up... and folks, share those blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

On Wednesday night, Kathleen was struggling with breathing issues , deep coughing, dizziness from related coughing that she called back up to Duke Hospital for her scheduled pre-op for Thursday and cancelled the pre-op. Her outpatient surgery for the laser burn in the larger portion of the right bronchial air passageway to remove tumor tissue was scheduled for 2 weeks on Feb 17. This is to clear air passageway for insertion of the lung stent. That has all changed now. She has been on O2 for at least a month now. She went into Forsyth Cancer Center to her oncologist's yesterday(Thursday) to get her scheduled chemotherapy and the oncologist decided not to administer it and try to get Kathleen as an inpatient at Duke ASAP, which means we should hear today, Friday or no later than Monday morning, that she will be able to go too Duke by early next week. Keep praying all you pray warriors and all that I know is that this whole situation is still in our Heavenly Father arms. We don't need any meals or help here at home. However, there maybe need of people to stand by for any hospital visits or assist with an errand and I know whom you are. Sincerely grateful for all the help offered and given so far. Psalm 29V11. Just keep praying. Kathleen needs rest right now and some immediate action from specialists as Duke Medical Center.
In Jesus Precious Name,
Tom Sansoni
