"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Can you believe it, the last day of February and we are having rain and expecting thunderstorms today. God is good, I will not need to plow or shovel the rain. Thank You, Father. Today being Monday makes it the day we pray for our President and all of our other leaders, and please pray that our leaders take all things to Jesus before they bring them to the public. Pray also for our military, past (veterans) and present. Pray also please for John, who is 89 and had a really bad fall, he fell backwards and hit the back of his head and is bleeding from the brain. The doctors said there is nothing they can do, it is all up to God. Please pray as always for God's will to be done, and of course we would love John to be healed and stay here with us. John is one of our flock from The Bridges. Prayers also for Kathleen Sansoni and Ron Leidigh, both who have cancer... and please pray for their spouses to give them the strength to deal with the cancers to their loved ones. Pray for Tom Sansoni and Donna Leidigh. Pray also for Vicki, and her friends and family including Josh, Sharon, Melanie and Terry.
The Big Trip, Week 12, Day 1 No Worries 1: Matthew 6:25 - "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear." "Is not life more important than food, and the body more important that clothes." (NIV)
No Worries! No Worries?? Do not worry!! Do not worry? What do you mean do not worry? Brothers and sisters, it might be the hardest thing to do that Jesus has told us to do. Who among us does not worry, and if we say we don't worry then we are saying something like this. I have a deep concern. Or I am fretting over this. I have been in church services where pastors preached on this subject and I have preached on it myself. I myself have been to the altar and "dumped" my worries at the time right at the feet of Jesus asking Him to take care of them. I have prayed with others asking them to do the same, "dump" your worries onto Jesus. What happens most often by most all of us, we take them to the altar or just hand them over in private prayer, and then, and then after we say, "In Jesus name, amen", we pick them all back up and take them back. Have you ever done this? This week we are going to take a look at some scriptures and maybe even some good songs where when we start to worry or fret about things we can go for help. The first thing we need to do is pray about it and we might as well start right there, right now.
Dear Father in Heaven, We confess that we worry about things, we care about them and use that as an excuse I guess to worry. We worry about children and grandchildren and we worry about our spouse. And Lord, more often than not we are worried about our checkbook balance and about household bills. Lord, some people, even on this line, do not have one dime to rub on another and do not have food to put on the table, yet we see we are not to worry and this old preacher man is going to try and show them why we should not worry. Lord, I need Your help on this one really bad, I don't want to make it another worry, I want to make it right for our online flock. Help us this day to cast our worries and concerns over to You. In Jesus' name, I pray and as always, Lord, Thy will be done. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, tomorrow we are going to tackle this head on, so please line up those worries and get ready to get rid of them. We are doing our very, very best this week to get rid of the worries. Save some gray hair so to speak (too late for me). Anyway, time to say, share those blessings, and folks, cut back on those worries for by Friday we want to dump them all at the feet of Jesus.
I love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 25, 2011 Prayer 5
"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen"
Good Friday Morning. my dear brothers and sisters. Please pray today for the family of Robert (D J Bob) O'Brien. Bob, who was my next door neighbor, was killed yesterday afternoon on Interstate 81 when a pickup truck came over the center and hit his car head on. Folks, things happen so fast, and I am so happy that over the years Bob and I talked about the Lord a lot and we prayed together on many occasions. Also being Friday, it is the day we pray for all those who work the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. With Bob, it shows us that we just cannot overlook our own neighbors as those in the fields of harvest.
The Big Trip 11-5 Prayer 5: Matthew 6:9 - This, then, is how you should pray: "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Amen" (KJV)
Let's now take a look at the next part of this wonderful prayer that our Lord Jesus taught us to pray.
"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." Folks, this line, this part of the prayer, I want you to really understand what we are praying and what Jesus wanted to get into our brain as He gave us this prayer. First let's look at the word "debts" which, folks, does not have anything to do with how much money we owe to others. The word "debts" in this case means trespasses and/or sins. I think if we look at it as "Sins" it might help us to understand it more.
As we are praying this prayer we are saying to God our Father in Heaven, to forgive us of our sins, but we are not asking Him to forgive us of all our sins, or at least in not so many words. What we are asking God to do is forgive us, in the same manner or the same amount as we would forgive someone who has sinned against us. So here we go, and I am going to put it at you just as I understand it coming from the Lord. You have someone who did you dirty or caused you a lot of trouble, maybe even put out an untrue something about you and got a big old rumor started. And you are really mad at them, but deep down you know and understand that if you want to move on with your life you must forgive them. So you forgive them a little bit, but you are still really upset and you hold some back, deep down you, well, you just hold onto a grudge. So when you are asking God to forgive you, are you really asking Him to just forgive you some, but you are saying, Lord, it is ok to hold a grudge against me, for I am holding one against others. We are praying to our Lord Jesus to forgive us, forgive us, Lord, but Lord, we are not willing to forgive all the things others have done to us. So what if we go to the Lord and the Lord would only forgive some of our sins, even if we have cleared the sins of others against us. Fear not, for God will forgive all of your sins, if indeed you have forgiven others. Please, please take all your prayers serious and of course please pray in faith, for it is indeed the faith that will open heaven's doors. As in all our prayers I believe we should ask God to forgive us before we ask for anything else from Him. In other words ask for Him to clean you, and then ask to be healed. Ok, let's move on.
Now for the next part where we ask our Father in heaven this, "And lead us not into temptation."
Do your remember how Jesus let the devil lead him up on the mountain and then the devil tempted Jesus about different things? Of course Jesus did not bow down to the temptations, but would we be strong enough to not give in? So we are asking Jesus not to put us into that temptation and why did Jesus put this in the prayer? I think He just wants us to pray to Him about the temptations and He will keep us away if we ask. Now, folks, there are times when we might be led into temptations by our Lord if we are indeed working for Him. We might answer the car to go onto streets and talk to people about Jesus where drugs are sold and that those ladies of the evening might be working. And can we handle it? It depends. Last evening in Harrisburg, a Catholic Priest was preaching in a downtown pub. That, folks, is a man who you might consider is being led by Jesus into a path of temptation. And for sure if you were one who wants to reach out to others and you have just come clean from drinking you sure would not want to be led into that temptation... Are you getting the picture? Let's move on.
Let's look at the next part, "but deliver us from evil."
This Jesus lined up to be with that last line, as we are really asking Jesus to deliver us from the evil one. And sticking with the last subject where the Priest went into the pub, this line is telling me that if I have a problem like drinking, then, Lord, deliver me from it. Help me get rid of my addictions. We are asking that God take us away from anything that is evil or bad or in the best way I can put it, if it does not please God. Folks, if it does not please God then I think it is evil. Amen. Now let's move on...
The end of the prayer goes into a praise type prayer, "For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever."
What are we telling God in this great prayer? We are telling Him the Kingdom is His, and He has all power, and we will give Him all the glory or we should give Him all the glory. And brothers and sisters, we do not praise Him near enough, nor do we thank Him near enough. So let's do a tad of that right now... Thank You Jesus, praise You Jesus, I love You Jesus... I do...
Now let's wrap it out with this closing "Amen" Which means in this case, "so be it". Let's pray.
"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen"
Brothers and sisters, each time I write on this wonderful prayer I find out more about it. The biggest thing I have forced myself to do is pray the prayer and not just be saying it. All so often as we do things over and over we just do it by memory and we are not really thinking about it. Just putting words together so to speak. Now as we go forth sharing our blessings this day and as I tell you that I love ya, and sign off Pastor Dan, I would like to really pray the prayer one more time. Will you do that with me?
"Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, our sins, as we forgive our debtors, those who have sinned against us. February 24, 2011 Prayer 4
Amen"
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome to schools day and families day on Carry The Light Ministries prayer and message line. And please as you pray, remember your church family and also by all means the family of God. Please pray for the mother of prayer warrior James Orner, and also pray for Jim as he starts a new job.
The Big Trip 11-4 Prayer 4: Matthew 6:9 - This, then, is how you should pray: "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Amen" (KJV)
Let's get started today with "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven." If we follow what our Lord Jesus taught us we are praying for "Thy will to be done", meaning the Will of our Father in Heaven. I have been asked about if we pray for Thy will to be done in earth as in Heaven, why then do we have sickness here on earth because the Bible tells us that we will not have sickness in heaven. To help us all better understand that I want to go to Matthew 26:39 and take a look at what happened when Jesus prayed at Gethsemane the night before He was put to death on the cross.
Matthew 26:39 - Going a little farther, He fell with His face to the ground and prayed. "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will but as you will." (NIV)
We see the example that Jesus set once again by not just telling us in the Lord's prayer to pray for Thy will to be done, but also by showing us He did just that the night He was arrested and the night before He was put to death on the cross. Here we find Jesus praying to His/Our Father in Heaven and asking if He had to go through with this. I guess when it comes to the end, Jesus did not want to be put to death like this, Jesus knew it was not going to be a pleasant thing. So He asked but at the same time prayed to His/our Father in Heaven stating it was God The Father's will that was to be done and not His own. So our Lord Jesus was killed here on earth for us of course, but that would not have happened in Heaven. Heaven, of course, will be full of peace and no hurts like this, and of course no sickness like we suffer through down here on earth.
So the thing we are asking or saying is, Lord, it would be nice to have no sickness, no cancers down here on earth like it is in Heaven, but Lord, it is your will to be done. Now I want you to help understand why some suffer with cancers or pain in some way or another... Let's look at Romans.
Romans 5:3 - Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, 4 perseverance, character, and character, hope 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. (NIV)
So what does it mean, well first of all, God is going to heal us in His time and in the meantime as we deal with what ails us it tends to make us stronger in faith and love for our Lord Jesus.
Let's move on with "Give us this day our daily bread." Now in this wonderful, wonderful prayer we are just asking for our daily bread, our Manna from heaven, so to speak. If we really trust God, we know that we will be furnished our needs each day, if we work for Him and also work for our keep. The Bible does tell us this, if a person will not work, then he should not eat. That is plain and simple in the Bible. While we do need to help the poor and that means the working poor and we need to help those who cannot work, there are a lot of people out there, who according to the Bible, just plain should not eat. There are a lot of people riding the systems of our states and our great nation and if they would get their lazy backsides to work our state and nation debts would come down. Then there are a lot of them who do work, but keep on the system by working and getting paid "under the table".
Folks, as you know, we have a food pantry, and we do not ask a lot of questions. If someone tells us they need food help, they do get it. The other day I had a call wanting us to pay for a scrip at the drug store. Of course I refused, we do not have that kind of money and we already helped this family with money to get fuel oil. But the man of the house, wears a lot of gold chains, sort of like Mr. T. but not as many. I just out and out told them it was time to sell off those chains. They got upset with me. But folks, you know this old man and I tell it like it is. In feeding others from the food pantry it is part of our outreach to teach people how to help themselves. We have a wall board with a pack of smokes on it and ten boxes of mac and cheese. If people give up one pack of smokes they can purchase 10 boxes of mac and cheese to help feed their family.
Ok, I got off beat a tad, but Give us this day our daily bread is great and Jesus goes so much beyond that. How long has it been since you sat down to a meal of bread because it was all you had? I hear people talking now about stocking up on food for a long term because of the way our world is. We stock in our personal shelf, food for if the electric goes out, food you need not cook, but for long term. I trust in what the Bible tells me and He will supply our needs.
Ok, time now to leave for the day, and yes, we are going to pray the Lord's prayer for by the end of the week, I want you to know it and also understand it so you don't just say it, you pray it. Let's pray.
Amen"

February 23, 2011 Prayer 3
"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen"
Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday. Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is Wednesday and that means it is SALVATION WEDNESDAY, and the day we pray for not only the lost, but for all of us who are found, saved, born again, washed in the blood, and real followers of Jesus Christ, reach out to others and try our very, very best to get them to the feet of Jesus to be saved... Brothers and sisters, if you are like me and have been keeping a watch on the world news you know we are in end times. Please pray for the families of those Americans who were shot and killed by pirates. Those folks who were killed were doing what they like to do, they were Catholic Missionaries and giving out Bibles along their way.
The Big Trip week 11 day 3 Prayer day 3: Matthew 6:9 - This, then, is how you should pray: "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Amen" (KJV)
Today as we start looking into The Lord's Prayer, as we respectfully call the prayer that our Lord Jesus first taught us, we take a look at "Hallowed be Thy Name." The word "Hallowed" means this according to a book I rarely look at, The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language: I find that "Hallowed" means "make or set apart as being Holy", "Sanctified", "Consecrated."
So let me break that down a little for you. Holy Father, a term that should be used for God. God our Father who resides in heaven and His name, The Name Father is Sanctified... It is a name above all names, one we should hold as Holy and it should, since it is a name above all names, be made and kept Holy. Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God our Father. While we all have or had an earthly father, please note the small f used in that. There is a lot of differences between our Heavenly Father and our earthly fathers. Of course the term father is used by a lot of churches when referring to their pastor. One who leads a family is called a father and surely those churches that refer to their pastors as father are doing so out of respect for the one who leads their "church family". George Washington has many times been referred to the "father of our country"
God, our Heavenly Father, is the Father of all of us, be we believers in Christ Jesus or turn our backs on Him. Now the big difference here as I see it, those of us who believe and are born again will see our Father in Heaven, face to face in Heaven and get to live with Him there, while those who do not believe will be turned away on Judgment day. As for what my kids call me, well it goes from dad to daddy e o. I called my dad "Pop", and I really like that name. I can remember just calling to him like it was yesterday... Hey Pop, or Hi Pop." My grandkids call me Pappy. I love it... Our flock at The Bridges call me "Pastor" and that is one big, big name to hold up to. Pastor is one who takes care of his flock, like a shepherd takes care of his.
Our Father who art in Heaven, HOLY is Thy Name...
Let's look at part of the next line now. "Thy Kingdom come." Here, folks, like it or not, we are praying for the return of our Lord Jesus. This is why it is so important to get the word out to others. John The Baptist said it, "REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR." (Matthew 3:1/2) Jesus said it, REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR." (Matthew 4:17), and folks, now we need to be really telling others this, all of us who are born again need to be telling others this... If we are not telling others this we are not doing our job. We are to be telling the Good, GOOD news of Jesus Christ and what is the good news and how do they get it? The good news is of course the return of Jesus and they need to get it from us and from the pastors of GOOD CHURCHES WHERE THE REAL TRUTH IS PREACHED. What should we be telling others? "REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR." Then we should be teaching and showing them about the good news, and what they can enjoy with Jesus even before His return to us. And remember as we pray, when we pray this prayer our Lord Jesus taught us to pray, we are praying for His return when we pray "Thy Kingdom Come." Let's go to prayer now, and yes, we are going to pray the Lord's prayer again today. Everything we need to pray is in this prayer, you can find it all... Let's pray.
Amen"
Now go forth and share those blessings that God has given to you, and share this message right from the Bible... "REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NEAR." Amen. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 22, 2011 Prayer 2
"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen"
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Sorry I am late today, but I left to go snow plowing this morning at 2.00 AM. Today is George Birthington's Washday, or that is what we called it years ago in school. When we were in elementary school we would celebrate two presidents birthdays in February, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Yesterday I asked you all if you knew how many former presidents were not buried in the United States... Here is the list. Presidents Carter, H. W. Bush, Clinton and W. Bush. Don't you just love me? Tuesday and the day we pray for our Lord God to give us a cure for those diseases like cancer, and kidney problems, heart conditions, etc. Let's lift Ron and also Kathleen today for they need that cure from cancer. Also please pray for Dolores as we found out her pelvis, which we were told was healing, either broke again or we were told wrong.
The Big Trip 11-2 Prayer 2 Matthew 6:9 - This, then, is how you should pray: "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Amen" (KJV)
Now I also ask you yesterday if you pray the Lord's prayer or just say the Lord's prayer. Let's take a look at it and see what it really means as we pray it.
"Our Father." The first word, "our", meaning all of us, for He indeed belongs to all of us, He is our Father, He indeed did make all of us, and He loves us all, even the people who hate Him or say He does not even exist. The second word, "Father" spelled always when we refer to God as Father with that large "F". Also know as "Father God" who is the one referred to in Genesis 14:19 as the Creator of Heaven and Earth, and this leads us right into the next line.
"Which art in Heaven." We are praying to our Father, not our earthly father, but our Father who resides in Heaven, with Jesus, who is our Lord and Savior. Heaven, the place where we are going if and only if we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and we put Him above all others and all else. Heaven, our place where we will live forever and ever, and a place where we will have a mansion and have streets of pure gold. Heaven is also according to Matthew 5:12 where we will have great rewards in Heaven. In Matthew 3:2 we hear the voice of John The Baptist calling us to "REPENT, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." In Matthew 4:17 Jesus tells us this. "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." And in Mark 16:15 Jesus tells us to take the good News of Jesus to all the corners of the earth, and part of that Good News is just this... And we need to remember this... God, our Father in Heaven should be exalted even above Heaven...
Psalm 57:5 - Be exalted, o God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth. (NIV)
Our Father in Heaven, stands above all else, ALL ELSE, and we should never forget it and we should be telling others... Tomorrow we pick it up on Hallowed. Let's pray and of course all this week, we are going to be praying the Lord's prayer... And please really think about it as you pray it...
Amen"
Now go forth and enjoy the snow, and make a snow angel, unless you are like me, if I were to lay down in the snow, I would be there till God melted it away. Maybe better I just tell you to share your blessings and that I love ya... Pastor Dan.

Presidents Day 2011 Prayer!
Amen"
Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and it is Monday and Spring at the Southern Location of the North Pole is over and winter has returned. Monday, and on this Presidents Day we will pray for our presidents and also today let's pray for our past Presidents. Also, I have two questions today, one is - can you tell me which former presidents are not buried in America, and there are a few. Do you know your history? Next, in many school districts today, Presidents Day is used for snow makeup, and no one says a word, yet when we use Martin Luther King Day for a snow makeup it catches heat from the press. While all the men are great, either use them both, or neither. Make up school in the spring... or Saturdays.
Also on Mondays we pray for all those who are in the Military, our veterans, our police, firefighters and all who work to keep us safe and healthy...
The Big Trip 11-1 Prayer 1: Matthew 6:9 - "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. 10 Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For Thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen" (KJV)
It is time again to take a good look at the prayer our Lord Jesus taught us to pray. We refer to it as The Lord's Prayer, but it is indeed our prayer... Do you attend a church that uses The Lord's Prayer weekly or maybe on just special occasions? Maybe Your church does not use it much at all. Folks, it is a wonderful prayer, but years ago I had to really take a look at it and at me, for I found out that I was really not praying the prayer but just saying it. Where do you fit in on this... If at church and you were all praying This Master's Peace (Piece) of a prayer and your leader dropped out, would the rest go on or just drop the ball? Folks, it happened to me as I was leading a service at Hope United Methodist Church and I did not have The Prayer in the bulletin, and I lost my place, and everyone stopped. Then "Miss Kim", Kim Murphy, who was and still is the choir director, picked up on it knowing I was in trouble and started praying it. Others joined in and this old man was bailed out.
So this got me thinking, do I say the prayer or pray the prayer? So I looked into it and looked at the meaning of it and what all was in it and preached on it. I also wrote on it several times each time asking God to give it to me fresh. Again starting tomorrow I am going to write on it, we are going to study the prayer this week. So please by all means use it this week. What does it mean to you? Say it and pray it, study it with me. What does it mean? We will dig into it tomorrow, right now, let's go to prayer and yes, you just know the prayer already for today.
Amen"

February 18, 2011 Real Love! 5
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
Good Friday, pray for those workers for God, Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Please pray for Kathleen Sansoni who will be coming home today for treatments for cancer at "Duke" hospital... Please pray for husband Tom as he stands beside Kathleen in this time of trusting it all to the Lord. Please also pray for Museum of Bus Transportation member George Herwig who had open heart surgery on Wednesday (sorry I missed this request, I had it in time to have had it on Wednesday requests). This request in from my dear friend Tom Mozer. Other than these two men having the same first name, and other than they are both Christian brothers to me... I married both of them (to their wives, folks, to their wives). Today I ask you to pray for all those who are going out into the fields of harvest working for the Lord. Folks, you have been watching the news, it is bad and it is time that we tell folks the good news of Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven. Our country like so many is broke, our states, or most of them, are broke. Teachers, those paid to teach our children and again setting examples is a good way to teach, and those teachers in Wisconsin are calling off sick when they are not and shutting down schools so they can protest the government trying to balance a budget, and then those in the capitol, some of them have left town so they do not need to vote. Brothers and sisters, please pray for our country and please pray for peace, and please, please start trusting more and more in God to take care of your needs, for the time is coming and I think soon, that those who really trust God will be the ones with food on the table... And folks, we better be getting ready to eat spam and manna... God is good and He will supply our needs... TRUST HIM.
The Big Trip 10-5 Real Love 5: Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. (NIV)
Folks, Real Love is taking care of you in all kinds of trouble and in all kinds of times and all the time... God pointed me to this scripture which is one that I like very much. So often though people when quoting the scripture leave out some words. Pull it out of context so to speak.
I have heard people tell others at a funeral, a funeral of a young person that they need to remember that all things come together for good.
Wait a minute, a parent just lost a child and someone, maybe even their pastor just tells them that all things come together for good. And brothers and sisters, that is not what that scripture tells us. If you look at it that way, we miss God in it, which is what makes it real love. When we say all things come together for good we take the real love right out of the scripture.
Let's look at the scripture again, read it over again and then take it apart a tad.
Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. (NIV)
All things come together for God, for those who really love Him... Real Love, not just saying you love Him. Real Love for Jesus, a love locked so deep into your heart that regardless what happens that love will not leave you. Love so deep for God that when things go wrong you don't start to question God asking where were you on that one God. Now that real love for God is just one part of that scripture the other part is "who have been called according to His purpose." What does that mean to me? To me it means that God has called us into His service and we have answered the call doing what God wants us to do.
Maybe God has called you into the ministry and you don't have a clue how you can do it, for you need a job to pay your bills. Do you trust God enough to walk out in faith to follow Jesus?
Brothers and sisters, God gave us real love when He gave His life for us due to our sins. He saved us, He really did. Now to show our love for Him, we can say it, and we might even think we mean it, but do we mean it enough to take that walk out in faith? Does Romans 8:28 really fit you, or is it just comfort food when things go wrong? Please, I am going to put the scripture in front of you again, read it over slowly, pray over it and see the real love in it. It is not a bandage for a short time repair, it is love for a life time, if you truly love Him and answer His call. In other words, pick up those nets and follow Him. Here it is one more time... read it, pray over it, and see the REAL LOVE in it...
Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. (NIV)
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the lesson on real love and I know, Father, that I could write on them for another week or two. It is not just real love, Your love is real and it is for all of us, if we could just learn. Please, Lord, heal Kathleen and stand by Tom. And Lord, please heal George and be with Him. Lord, thanks for sparing me from an acid bath yesterday, I am so blessed. Lord, thank You for loving me. I will try my very best to love You and to tell others of the Love that comes from You and also needs to go back to You. In Jesus' name, I give thanks for this line and for You trusting me to work for you... Amen.
Now go forth brothers and sisters, sharing His love for you and sharing your love for Him... and believe this... I love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 17, 2011 Real Love 3
"If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."
Good Spring morning from the Southern Location of the North Pole. Wow, what a great week we are having; it sure is spring-like. God is peeling the ice off the rivers by giving us warm days and then the cold nights, letting the ice melt slowly. GOD IS GOOD, HURRAY FOR GOD.
Today is Thursday and it is families day and schools day on this old line. Today, I ask that you pray for the line. I have not pushed for the line to grow for a while and today I invite you to invite one or two of your friends, or your enemies, to join us on the line. Hey it is FREE. Also be sure you mention our food pantry and know that we do have food and are willing to help those in need. Please, please remember that, maybe you know of someone from your workplace that just needs some help to get over the hump, so to speak. Please let them know about Carry The Light Ministries.
Thanks to Grant and Wanda Crockett for putting in a day of work in our ministry food pantry. We had a great time stocking the shelves with goodies from God's people. Today on this schools day, let me tell you about Silver Spring Elementary School, one of the schools of the Cumberland Valley School District. The other week the kids brought in soup for their SOUP-er Bowl and they gifted it to Carry The Light Ministries. Almost 400 cans of soup were dropped off here, most of them family size cans. Thanks to Jennifer Miller and her staff of teachers and a hard-working crew of kids.
The Big Trip 10-4 Real Love 4: Romans 12:20 - "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." (NIV)
You remember the TV series MASH and how they took care of the wounded at the MASH unit? Do you remember those shots of when the doctors would work on the enemies, when they would patch up those who were shooting at our guys? Yes, we need to reach out to those who really don't like us. I was talking to my oldest daughter, Danelle, the other day, and we were just talking about how nice it would be if everyone liked us. She is like me, as is our baby daughter, Leanne, wanting all people to really like us. And when someone does not, we work hard to find out why and try and correct it.
Now my dear late mamma sat me down one time when I was little and crying to her about someone not liking me. Why, mamma, don't they like me, I asked, they want to beat me up and I did nothing to them. She would then tell me what I would guess many mothers back then told their kids. Danny, she said, I will give you an extra nickel tomorrow and you can buy this guy a soda. Why, mamma, would I want to buy a soda for a guy who just beat me up? Well, son, it is like this, you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar. And to this day I know what it means. She also had this saying about "killing people with kindness". She was just a great woman who loved everyone, and would do anything she could for anyone. "Mamma, your lead did work, it just took me a while to get it all together."
I remember a few years back when Dolores and I were really into riding motorcycle and we road with the Christian Motorcyclist Association a lot (also the Gold Wing Road Riders). Anyway, one of our pastors from the Christian group was in Florida during bike week and one of the outlaw bikers came up and poured a beer over his head and cursed him out. The next year the same biker came back and said he was sorry and should not have done it and handed his beer to our pastor and was told to pour it on him (the outlaw biker), and of course the pastor did not do it. What he did was lead the outlaw biker to Jesus.
Sometimes we think we just cannot do this, give someone who hates us food, give someone who downs our Lord Jesus something to drink. Folks, again I want to point this out... When God sends us rain, it does not just go on the gardens of those who love Him, but also on the gardens of those who hate Him... It takes water to bring up the food plants, so is Jesus not setting an example of how we should feed our enemies? As much as I try, I have yet to find in the Bible Jesus telling us to do something that He did not do to set the example for us. I wish I would have learned and put to practice His lessons and the lessons of my late mamma. God is good and so was my mamma...
Now how does this last verse of today's scripture fit in? If we feed our enemy and we give them water, "In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." Well one thing, it sure will make a person who is trying to bring you down feel bad. Our enemies really would like us to "hit back" but we have turned the other side of our face and we have given good and not evil. The Biker pastor would not even the score by pouring a beer on the head of an outlaw biker, instead he prayed for him and led him to the Lord.
Real Love might be described something like this... Love on people just as you would like them to love on you... and folks, again I say, love is not sex and sex is not love.
Dear Father in Heaven, help us to really understand this thing I am calling Real Love. Yes, real love was you going to the cross for us, but it goes so much deeper than that, and we need You to open it up to us... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings, and sharing your love of others, and giving your enemies something to eat and drink, oh, and yes, you can give food and water to your friends also.
You can send me a diet cherry Pepsi... just kidding, Love ya, Pastor Dan. And I am not kidding about that love...

Love must be sincere!
Salvation Wednesday, my dear brothers and sisters. I do pray that each week, each mid-week when we have Salvation Wednesday you don't just skim over it, thinking I will let others reach out today, I am taking a break from talking to others this week about Salvation. Pray today that God will use you who are saved to reach out and talk to the unsaved. Once again I do remind you that we, you and I, cannot save a soul, only Jesus can do that, but we, however, are commissioned to help lead people to the feet of Jesus to be saved. Out of all the prayers that reach out from this line, prayers of salvation are to me, the most important. Let's look at it like this, what good is it for you to be healed from that broken bone, or that cancer if in the end you were not healed of your sins?
The Big Trip 10-3 Real Love 3: Romans 12:9 - Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil, cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice Hospitality. (NIV)
Love must be sincere! Folks, do you remember back when you first had that "puppy" love for another person? Maybe you were sitting in second or third grade and your heart was flipping over another second or third grader, or you were like me, and your puppy love was already leaning toward a car or truck. Do you remember as you grew older how when you would meet a new person of the opposite sex and your heart sort of flipped and you could not sleep at night? Oh, back then we thought that this is it, I am in love. Do you remember that first pet, that little puppy or kitten or maybe even a rabbit and that love? Do you remember how that puppy loved you, kissing you and kissing you with his puppy breath (soon to be dog breath)? Do you remember all those loves that were so sincere for at least a few days?
Do you remember when you found out that it is ok to love more than one person or thing at the same time? Do you remember that very first real love? I want to make this statement to all of you today and see if anyone else sees it my way... Here it is, "until I fell in love with Jesus with that real sincere love, I did not have a clue what sincere love really was." Sad to say, those early little puppy loves were just that and they went away. But once I found out about loving Jesus and I did fall in love with Him, then and only then did I find out it is ok to love more than one person at a time. Falling in Love with Jesus made me secure in myself. Real men, I say REAL MEN love Jesus, and also we can wear pink shirts and we can cry when things are sad, or when things hurt us or others, and we can cry when things make us happy. Hey, I love another man and He loves me and neither of us are "funny". Real men who love Jesus also can hug their buddies and tell them and be sincere about it saying "I love you, brother or I love you, sister." Please note this statement. REAL LOVE, has nothing to do with Sex!!!
Let's look at the scriptures that God gave me today.
Romans 12:9 - Love must be sincere.
Over the years we did not always know if the love of another for us was sincere or not, we just were not sure. Often we are told these little words, "I love you", but they were empty. Maybe it was you saying them to someone, "I love you." Maybe we thought they were sincere, even coming from our own mouth we thought we really loved that person. Maybe we thought the love of that other person was sincere but we just did not know. But let me tell you this, when you tell God that You love Him, you better be sincere for if we are not sincere in our love for Jesus, He will know. Folks, how many of you will join me right now, maybe even send me a short email back and just confess that love for Jesus today. It is Salvation Wednesday. You really don't need to tell me about it, so just tell Jesus. Will you join me right now, are you up to this, will you step out right now and say those four little words... Will you join me? "Jesus, I Love You." And remember Jesus knows if you are sincere... And remember this. Jesus has already said it to you. He said "I Love You" and his arms were stretched out on the cross and He died.
Now that next part of the same verse. "Hate what is evil, and cling to what is good." Does this statement make sense to any of you and this is a statement from me. "In some things, what might be evil for one, might not be evil for another." Sounds like some good old double talk, right? But think about it. What I am talking about might be a husband and wife who have gone out for a nice dinner and with the dinner they are going to enjoy a glass of wine. No evil on that one, but a person who has a drinking problem and sits down knowingly and has that drink, knowing that to them it is evil and might just kick them off the wagon, so to speak. So while there is evil we all need to hate, there are also things that can be evil to one and not the other. Does that make sense to any of you?
Now let's look at this brotherly love.
Romans 12:10 - Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. (NIV)
We are to honor one another and be devoted to one another in brotherly love. What really is brotherly love? Gosh, brotherly love, I can remember my brother, the strongest man I ever knew in my life and his brotherly love for me was to "kick my butt" (at least weekly). But that was when we were small, and I would "rat him out to mom" about all sorts of junk, sometimes I just made it up. But the real brotherly love grew and grew as we got older. He helped me with jobs, he helped me get started in business, and when he found out he had cancer and was given a time limit, he called me to talk to me about how to get into heaven. Real brotherly love with my real blood brother was walking back in our lives and then coming forward asking God to forgive us along the way and talking about what momma had told us about Jesus. I had found Jesus and Leonard came to him that day.
However, you can have real brotherly love with someone who is not your real brother as we think of a brother today. Real brotherly love might be you sitting and talking about Jesus to a total stranger... and teaching them the Good News of Jesus and leading them to the feet of Jesus. Real brotherly love is CARING ENOUGH ABOUT OTHERS THAT YOU WANT TO TELL THEM ABOUT JESUS AND SHARE REAL LOVE WITH THEM.
Real Love is just this, Jesus died for us, to give us a way into heaven... Do you have enough love in you to at least tell others of the Love Jesus had/has/and will have for us? Do you have that Real Love in you? I have real love in me, and I just again, as I have told you before, I want to tell you this... I love you, and I always seem to say it like this... Please share your blessings. I love ya, Pastor Dan. Today let me put it like this... Please share your blessings. I love ya... your brother in Christ... Danny Lehman.
Dear Father in Heaven, help us to grow deeper and deeper in Love with You and help it be real and be sincere, and Lord, I really want to work at it hard, for I want to love You, as much as You have loved me and still love me and will love me. I want to have a never-ending love with You. And Lord, help me with Brotherly love... In the name of Jesus I ask you forgive me of my sins and all others on this line as they ask... I love You Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Time to go forth now, sharing your blessings... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 15, 2011 Real Love! 2
But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US!
I need to start today as I finish most all days by saying this. I love ya! Pastor Dan
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and yes I am sending my love from the Southern Location of the North Pole here in Mechanicsburg, Pa., to you, regardless where you might be living in this world. I am sending my love to you, regardless of your race, your skin color your religion, and even your lifestyle. While I really hate sin, I do love sinners, and yes, I am indeed a sinner, saved only by our Lord Jesus Christ. So let me say it again... I LOVE YA! I really, really do.
Please pray today for Kathleen Sansoni who has cancer and is going through some really rough treatment. Dear Tom and Kathleen, hang in there, God is good and He is going to heal Kathleen. I love you both. Brothers and sisters, I married Tom and Kathleen years ago, they are a wonderful couple. Ron, I am praying for you and your wonderful wife Donna, and I know, I have faith that God is going to heal you, Ron, of all the cancer in your body. Keep your faith, my dear friends. Please pray today for Rob Campbell who fell yesterday and broke his gas pedal foot. Rob, God is going to heal you also. Brothers and sisters, this morning, very early, I went in and prayed for Dolores and laid hands on her to be healed by God. I truly have faith that God is going to heal her. God has been planting on my mind of late about His healing powers. You see, Jesus is the same today as He was when He walked the earth healing people. Today, TODAY, God is still in the healing business.
This is Tuesday and the day we pray for God to bring forth a cure for cancer, and heart problems and all other really severe health issues. Brothers and sisters, I really do love Jesus and I really do look to Him for healing. God is good, GOD IS GOOD! And regardless of your problems, He will heal them.
The Big Trip 10-2 Real Love! day 2: Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US!
Romans 5:1 - Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His Love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US! (NIV)
When we talk about love, REAL LOVE, this scripture comes forth in my mind. Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US! (NIV)
Our Lord Jesus did not just die for us, HE DIED FOR US! I want to be very clear on this love, this love He gave to us, GAVE to us. Listen to me here, God, The Father, gave His Son Jesus to us, and Jesus gave His life for us. Jesus, who was "Born to Die" so "We can Live", knew from the very start that He was laying down His life just for us. THAT IS REAL LOVE. I want to rewrite the scripture from Romans again... Please read it again.
Romans 5:1 - Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. (NIV)
Let's look for some standout words in this scripture and just talk about them.
FAITH! Faith, and we all need it, for brothers and sisters, like it or not, if we do not have faith in God, if we DO NOT HAVE FAITH in God, then what do we really have? Nothing! When we pray for healing as we did this morning, if we did not have faith, then I wasted my breath and my typing abilities. God is going to heal Kathleen, and God is going to heal Ronald, and God is going to heal Rob and my dear brothers and sisters, those three, Kathleen, Ronald and Rob, all have faith that the healing has started. I have also talked with Kathleen and also with Ron and know that they have PEACE about this and that God is going to heal them. I also know Rob's heart and He also is big on faith and that faith gives us peace.
Folks, the Bible is telling us that we should also REJOICE in our suffering. While most of the time we seem to want to complain or just keep praying for healing, the Bible does tell us that suffering produces perseverance, and that perseverance will bring character. And folks, we sure do need character. And while those words, perseverance and character are great words in this scripture, we need to look at one more word today, in fact let's look at a few more words. Today let's look at hope and how as we rejoice in our suffering, we have hope that this suffering will end. Now I want you to look at this line of scripture. It is Romans 5:5.
Romans 5:5 - And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His Love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom He has given us. (NIV)
Look at this love now... He went to the cross for us, He gave so much love for us that it cost Him His life. The Bible tells us that God poured out His Love right into our hearts. He did not just pour it out on us, or even into us, but into our very own hearts. Listen to this, a lot of people think about a heart as just something that pumps blood (God made our heart to pump blood also). However, He made our heart so that we could have love, receive love and send love also. Then He also did this... He GAVE us the Holy Spirit and please note again the wording... The Holy Spirit is real, and folks, I know this, The Holy Spirit is alive and well in my heart, and to that I must just shout out... THANK YOU JESUS!!
Brothers and sisters, I get excited when I talk about love, and hope, and faith and the Holy Spirit, and I just need to say it again... I love ya. Please keep your faith, please have hope, and please, please welcome in, and yes, you must welcome in the Holy Spirit. God gave us this gift, the gift of His Love and the Gift of the Holy Spirit, but we, all of us, one on one with Jesus must take this love, these gifts of Love and the gift of the Holy Spirit, and bring them on board. Then we need to share this love with others... and if it will help you, please, please use my writings.
Dear Father in Heaven, I love You, and thank You for loving me, loving me enough to die for me. Thanks Jesus... I love You, please forgive me of my sins and please help me to share more and more of the blessings You have given to me. In Jesus name, Amen.
Go forth now and share your blessings and how about the first person you see today, give them a hug around their neck. And you can say, it is from me if you want to. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 14, 2011 Real Love!
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Happy Valentine's Day, my dear brothers and sisters. I did not really plan it this way, but this week is the week I am going to be talking about love. It is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. We are going to have a touch of spring and I love it. Today is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders, veterans, military, police, firefighters and all others who work to keep us healthy and safe. It is also the day we pray for our leaders. Let's start today with prayer and then go to the message.
Dear Father in Heaven, I pray today for our leaders, our president and all of our other leaders, national, state, local, all of them who have authority over us. Lord, bless them and watch over them. I also pray today for Harrisburg City Mayor, Linda Thompson, a young lady who loves You dearly and just flat out needs You holding her hand. Keep her strong in faith, dear Lord. I pray also today for our veterans and for our disabled veterans, some who are just out of high school and might be spending their life in a military hospital. Lord, bless them. I pray for our military, for those in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, and all of our guard units. In our area, Lord, I asked you bless the 28th Army Guard and the 193rd Air Guard, and please watch over 193rd Chaplain, Pastor/Major Richard Denison. Lord, please also watch over this line and keep it going on to help others. Always, Lord, keep me on track, on track with You and no others. I love You, Jesus. And I pray in your name. Amen.
The Big Trip 10-1 Real Love 1: John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (NIV)
Matthew 5:43 - "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He cause His sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (NIV)
Jesus is telling us to love those who persecute you, and folks, let's be honest with each other, sometimes that is very, very hard to do. You have people maybe putting out rumors about you, maybe something from your past, or maybe something you had nothing to do with. Folks, there are a lot of people out there who just hate others, and it runs deep. We see it on the Nation News, and we even see it in families. Example, just last week in this small town in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, in the town of Myerstown, a man shot his wife to death. He also shot his dog and then as the police arrived he shot at them using his ten year old step-daughter as a shield. There is not a day goes past that you don't hear of things like this on the news. Where does all that hate come from? Brothers and sisters, the hate comes from evil and evil comes from Satan and his band of workers. So when you find people who hate you in your life, how do we really look at them and love them, and I mean really love them, not just say it?
The examples in the Bible are great, (that was a bright statement). Jesus always shows us good examples. When the sun comes up, it shines on the good and the evil. When it rains, people who don't even believe in Jesus get rain also. When God handed out brains, why some of the brightest people are evil. Think about that, if those brains were doing good it would be better for everyone. Of course there are people who don't love Jesus who are not evil people, they just don't love Jesus.
The example of the rain is just great, for when it rains, it will rain on my garden and also the gardens of those who might not believe in Jesus.
I want to bring this out, to really love someone who is your enemy or a person that really hates you, you must get past that fact or those facts, we need to be very, very careful not to let the hate of those who hate us rub off on us and we start to be hating them. I have heard people say that we need to love others, even if we don't like them. HOW DOES ONE DO THAT? Now I will say that we need to love people, all people, even those who are living a full life of sin, but we need to hate their sins, as God hates all sin.
Also, we are all sinners, and our Lord God gave His Son to die for us, all of us. We also need to get over the fact that people connect love and sex for they do not need to be related. You know there is a lot to this, loving your enemies, there really, really is. You might think, well this is easy, but sometimes we really need to work at it, we really, really do. I know for a fact that I want everyone to like me, and I am sure that in this old world there might be one or two who just can't stand me. (I am sure there are more than that.)
Luke 23:34 - Jesus said, "Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing." (NIV)
Let's look at this, let's really look at this. Maybe some of the people who might hate us don't really know us, or they don't understand us. And I know for a fact that I love some people that even others might not understand why I love them. People who have said hateful things over the years... There is one thing that my mother got imbedded deep into me was to love others and not be afraid to hug others. My mamma, when she lived, loved everyone, and I never heard her and I mean this, I never heard her say an unkind word about another person, never. I pray that people will forgive me for although I love people and I learned to be a hugger and to truly love people, there were times when my mouth could and would cut people down others and I really had to work at that. So you need to love your enemies, but you know the more you love Jesus, the more you really love Him, the easier it gets to love all others.
All this week we are going to be looking at Love, and loving others and of course loving our Lord Jesus. I pray today that by the end of the week, our love grows deeper and deeper for others and for Jesus also.
Now go forth, loving others and of course sharing of your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 11, 2011 The Beatitudes 5
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and another cold morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Being Friday that means it is the day we pray for all those who work the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. It does not make a difference if you preach, teach, sing, or just make that joyful noise, if you are doing it for Jesus we need to be praying for you this day.
The Big Trip 9-5 The Beatitudes 5: Matthew 5:1 - Now when He saw the crowds, He went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him 2 and He began to teach them, saying.
11 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (NIV)
Today, our final day for the Beatitudes and we take a look at Matthew 5:11/12 and I ask you this question... How many times have people insulted you because of your love for Jesus? Before you answer hear me out a bit. I am insulted and hurt each and every time I hear someone cursing or putting down our Lord Jesus. I know how much my Jesus was hurt because of and for me... Now it is my turn to hurt for Him. I do love Him that much. Are you hurt when people put down the Lord and you hear it?
Have you been persecuted because of your love for Jesus? I want to walk a limb right now for the Mayor of Harrisburg, Pa. This lady loves God, she really does and she opens her meetings with prayer, and she, so it has been told, has said things about an evil man because he is openly gay. Folks, we must love all people but we for sure do not need to like at all what they do. So we need to pray for Mayor Linda Thompson. I fully understand that people will get on her case for opening with the Lord. I only need to look into the mirror and see this guy who after years and years of praying to open meetings on our bus board, one new board member complained and most of the others would not stand up and speak up for the prayer. I am no longer on the board of the bus museum but have some very dear friends who still are. And again I say how many people want to bring up your past after you come to our Lord Jesus to be saved? IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU if you love Jesus.
But what does Jesus tell us to do when people hurt us because of Him, what does Jesus tell us to do when people insult us, or when they persecute you and even say false things about you? And folks, if you love Jesus this will happen, it is not if it will but when it will. Here is what we are to do - REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT BECAUSE GREAT IS OUR REWARD IN HEAVEN... and everyone stuck in an AMEN...
Dear Father in Heaven, we love You, and if it means people are going to put us down, or say false things about us, or even bring up our past that You took away, I say to them in the name of Jesus... Have at it, for my Jesus is loving me and I am loving Him more each day. Jesus, protect us from it, and help us through it till the day we sit at Your feet... I love You, Jesus. And I pray today for protection for all working for You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth sharing His love and when you need to TURN YOUR FACE TO THE OTHER SIDE. God is with you, share His blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 10, 2011 The Beatitudes 4
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness."
Good Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is still cold here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, but even though it is cold, the SON is out bright and helpful and the Sun is also out today. Want to start something to talk about today, tell folks we have two sun/Son s that shine on us. Today is families and schools day on the line... And today, speaking of schools, we have a prayer request to pray for the girls basketball coach at the Bible Baptist School, Mechanicsburg, Pa., to set better examples for the girls he coaches.
The Big Trip 9-4 The Beatitudes 4: Matthew 5:1 - Now when He saw the crowds, He went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him, and He began to teach them, saying.
9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness." (NIV)
I am really enjoying doing the Beatitudes for our Lord Jesus. I have a dear friend, Tom Stephenson, who told me years ago how he really loves them. Tom, I hope what God gives me from them is working on you this day. Let's look at Matthew 5:9 - "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."
Let me point out first that it tells us peacemakers, not peacekeepers, and there is a difference in that. A peacekeeper, well that would be a police officer or our military, which are called upon to keep the peace, keep the law... Peacemakers need to be well ahead of the peacekeepers, in fact if we make peace in the first place, then it is much better to work on and keep. I would like to point out a four letter word that works well with being a peacemaker. It is called LOVE, and we should always remember to Love God and Love our neighbors, and when you love someone, I mean truly love them, then it easy to be a peacemaker. I will say that sometimes we must turn the other cheek and turn it more than once, and there are a lot of times we might also bite down hard on our mouth to keep it tight shut. Please remember that once something comes out over those lips you just cannot put it back in. Be sure of what you are saying before you say it. Let's look at
Romans 12:9 - Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil, cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be Joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. (NIV)
Look at that "Love must be sincere." I mean your dog knows if your love is not sincere, people also know it. Don't be a phony, when you say you are a Christian, please be one and walk with God. Some people seem to pat one another on the back, when the truth is they have a knife in their hand to stab you in the back. Love each other, and I mean brotherly love. The Bible tells us to not lack in zeal when serving the Lord. We are to be joyful and we are to share with God's people who are in need. Folks, there are a lot of people in need. They are in need of God's love on every level. Some of the people who have the most things, or money, are in the most need because they lack LOVE OF GOD.
Now lets look at
Matthew 5:10 - "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs in the kingdom of heaven." (NIV)
Ok, let's look at this. What is it telling us? To me it is telling or even giving us a warning that we will be persecuted if we really, really love Jesus. Don't let it worry you, don't let it trouble you, and DON'T JUMP SIDES. Brothers and sisters, in the end WE WIN!! In the words of Jesus, He is telling us if we are persecuted because of Him, or righteousness, we have the kingdom of Heaven... HOW ABOUT THAT???
Dear Father in Heaven, I love You and I would like to be speaking for all on the line and say WE love You, and I do pray that is a fact. I pray that this line will reach out to those who might not and they also come on board. I pray that today, we can be peacemakers wherever we trod, and we can and will speak out for You. Lord, bless that basketball coach and teach him respect. Show him about what comes out of his mouth stays out... Lord, bless our schools and families this day. And please by all means help us to help You to grow the family of God. Help us to teach them to LOVE. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Now go forth sharing Your blessings, telling others of the kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God, and share those blessings, Love Ya, Pastor Dan.

February 9, 2011 The Beatitudes 3
"Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God."
Salvation Wednesday, my dear brothers and sisters, and I wish you well this day. GOD BLESS YOU!! Today is Wednesday and the day we pray for God to use us to seek out the lost and lead them to Jesus to be saved. Once again I remind you that we cannot save a soul, only bring them to Jesus to be saved. This found in John 14:6 where Jesus said He is the way and the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him... AMEN.
My mind has been on my dear brother Tom Sansoni and his wonderful wife Kathleen and how much they need our prayers. Folks, carry them to the Lord this day, please. The same also for brother Ron Leidigh and his wife Donna... Kathleen and Ron struggle with cancer...
The Big Trip 9-3 The Beatitudes 3: Matthew 5:1: - Now when He saw the crowds He went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him, 2 and HE began to teach them, saying.
7 "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God."
I want to talk to you about mercy for a minute or two. Let's first look at it in a place you might not think of it, in The Lord's Prayer. In the prayer the Lord taught us to pray, we find this:
Matthew 6:12 - Forgive us our debts (sins) as we forgive our debtors. (those who sin against us)
We all have people who we feel have hurt us, maybe back stabbed us on the job, or maybe borrowed money from us and did not pay it back. Whatever it might be, we need to forgive them, I say, WHATEVER it might be we need to forgive them, for we are asking God to forgive us in the same way. Just to let you see it another way, let's look at the prayer worded like this... Dear Father in Heaven, Show mercy on me, just as I have shown mercy on others... Amen.
Brothers and sisters, our Lord Jesus laid down His life to do what? Forgive us of our sins, all the world, everyone, what does that mean? He wants to show mercy on us by giving us a way out of going to hell, going to self destruction. So He died for us. Now how do we show mercy on ones who have hurt us? Let's see, we talk behind their backs and we tell the world about their past even after God has forgiven them. I have had it happen to me. Oh, I can remember Dan when he... Yes, sadly, I can remember it also, and each of us try hard to forget things from our past. We are told to give them to the Lord and we do, but someone out there shows no mercy on us and brings it up... Folks, LAY OFF THE PAST OF OTHERS!! AS YOU WANT THEM TO LAY OFF YOUR PAST!! Maybe that should be in our prayers... Dear Father, please never bring up my past, unless I bring up the past of others... Amen. My dear brothers and sisters, if you want Jesus to show you mercy in the end, then starting today, show mercy on others...
Now let's looked at Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God. How does one get to be pure in heart? He/she asks God to forgiven them in the name of Jesus and falls in love with Jesus. Being pure in heart in just a few words means to me, just being truthful in all you do. Be honest in all things. Ask Jesus into your heart, ask Him to forgive you of your sins and then keep your heart clean and pure for Him. Also, folks, keep your heart clean and pure for your family and your friends, your loved ones. Also do this, keep your heart clean and pure for yourself!! Brothers and sisters, if we keep our hearts pure and clean we will not need to be looking back over our shoulders and we will not need to be concerned about someone saying, "I knew them when they did ------- and ----- and ------ - ------- ------ and ---------. Amen.
Dear Father in Heaven, Keep us pure in heart, help us with that for we, even when trying hard, find it hard to do. We confess we need Your help. Help us this day to be pure in heart and to work helping others find salvation through Jesus, help them find the joy we now know... In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Now go forth sharing the Good News of Jesus and the soon to be return of Him to get us who love Him. Also keep sharing your other blessings with others... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 8, 2011 The Beatitudes 2
"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."
Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and the day we pray for God to send a cure for diseases, diseases like cancers, heart problems, kidneys that have failed, and so on, even the croup that is going around right now. Once again today I want to look at some of the Beatitudes that Jesus talked to His disciples about. Let's go to work.
The Big Trip 9-2 The Beatitudes 2: Luke 5:1 - Now when He saw the crowds, He went up on the mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him, 2 and He be to teach them saying,
5 "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." (NIV)
Blessed are the meek, and please do not confuse meek with weak, for indeed the meek might just be a lot stronger than those who we call very strong. Meek people are the ones who have the patience to wait, maybe to wait for the good things. The meek are the ones who have humility, are willing to be humble before God. Maybe you have heard someone say about someone else that that person is really meek and mild, and saying it in a good way. Let's look at Psalm 37 a tad.
Psalm 37:7 - Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret, it leads only to evil. 9 For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. 10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more. Though you look for them, they will not be found. 11 But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace. (NIV)
I must tell you that I never had much patience, like a lot of people when I wanted something I wanted to have it yesterday. When I was in the garage business I found out that most all people wanted their car done the day before they brought it in. Once in a while we post on our reader board, bring it in today and it will be finished by yesterday. However, as I grew older I am learning to be more patient and I do patiently now wait for and upon the Lord. Notice it does not say the meek shall inherit heaven, but the meek will inherit the earth. The Bible tells us the "wicked will be no more". THANK YOU JESUS, and the meek will inherit the land and ENJOY GREAT PEACE. THANK YOU JESUS!!
So my dear brothers and sisters, have patience and hold fast and be waiting upon the Lord, our day is coming and coming soon. Please note that we are also told not to fret. Psalm 37:7 and Psalm 37:8 tell us not to fret, and that to me means not to worry, don't get nervous, just get out and work for and follow Jesus. Walk with Him and in the end... WE WIN... THANK YOU JESUS.
Now let's look at Luke 5:6 - "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." (NIV)
This one seems very simple to me. You want to be filled with Jesus, you want to be filled with the Holy Ghost, if you want to be filled with righteousness and you hunger and thirst for it, get out your Bible and read it, do some daily devotions, go to a GOOD church, where the word of God, the full and true word of God, is spoken and believed. When you are told something about God, look it up in the Bible, that is where you find the truth. Each day try and hunger and thirst more and more for the Word of God and for Jesus and love Him more and more each day. And in the end, we who are "Born Again", we who have fallen in love with Jesus and we who in the end will dwell in house forever, we will never thirst again... AMEN.
Dear Father in Heaven, I thirst each day for Your Love and to be able to show and tell it to others. Lord, teach me to have more patience and to be more meek, for I do need that. Teach me to teach, and help me sing about You. Today and forever and ever more I want to walk with You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 7, 2011 The Beatitudes 1
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders in Washington DC also those in our State Houses and local governments. It is also the day we pray for our veterans and for our current military. We also pray today for our police, firefighters, those who work in the health related fields and any and all who work to keep us safe and healthy... It is also a good day to pray for all those who have the "crud" which is what I call what is going around in our area. Flu, or the Bug, or what every it is, it is really bad in Central Pennsylvania. Everyone I talk to is sounding like "Willie Nelson". Please pray for Sterling, Luella, Edgar, William, Doris, Dolores, Sharon, Danny, and a whole lot more with this "junk".
Praise report... Yesterday after church, Blanch got out of her wheel chair, got behind it and walked it back to her apartment... PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD.
The Big Trip week 9-1 The Beatitudes: Luke 5:1 - Now when He saw the crowds He went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him, 3 and He began to teach them, saying:
3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (NIV)
Jesus, who had just finished going throughout Galilee, teaching in synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people, went up on the mountainside there to be joined by His disciples. And right away, He sat down and started to teach them. The Bible tells us that in Luke 4: verses 23/25 tells of how Jesus healed the severe pain, the demon possessed, the one having seizures and the paralyzed. The beauty of reading about the healing, the real beauty is not knowing it happened back then, but that it still happens because Jesus is still the same today. Brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters, listen to me, if you are in pain, if you are sick, if you have cancer, DO NOT GIVE UP, JESUS STILL HEALS. Yes, it is according to His will and in His time, but He is with us, HE IS WITH YOU, daily in all you do, please, please keep on asking in faith. JESUS WILL HEAL YOU. The truth is none of us is worthy of what Jesus does for us each day, we are just not worthy, but He went to the cross and He died to save us from our sins. All of the other things, like healing us from pain, and cancer or a heart problem are a BONUS. Think of it, folks, I am getting excited about this... The first healing we will receive from Jesus for just asking and believing is we are healed from our sickness of sin, and trust me when I say sinning is a sickness. Let me tell you this, that the more you hurt, the more you should just keep falling deeper and deeper in love with Jesus. All the pain you have in your body today, I want you to think about and then ask yourself this... Does it hurt as much as if a spike were driven through your feet, crushing your feet? And ask your doctor how many bones are in your feet. Then how about being beaten on the back with a strap... how does that compare to your pain today? I hurt today, but as I think about this pain that Jesus went through for me, it makes my pain mild. THANK YOU JESUS, THANK YOU JESUS. And folks, Jesus did all this, He took on all that pain for you and for me, for all of us. We caused it and I think this... When we sin, and I say we because I know I still mess up, and it is like, when I sin, I am driving another nail into my Lord Jesus... LORD FORGIVE ME, LORD FORGIVE US. Thank You Jesus... I love You, Jesus. I am fired up today for You Jesus... I really love You.
Oh, my gosh, I wanted to get started on the Beatitudes today and I really took off on Jesus... So let me just take a minute and look at those first two of the Beatitudes...
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Why in the world would Jesus say that blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven? First I want to say that we who are blessed by Jesus have the very best of the blessings you will ever get. All, let me say that again, ALL blessings come from God, even if they come through the hands of others. Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven... But what about us who are high in the spirit? Let me try and explain this... The Kingdom of Heaven is a gift. Some folks who are high in spirit might not be HIGH ON THE SPIRIT OF GOD. I mean we have school spirit, we have team spirit. Just look at last night, how many were high on the team spirits of the Steelers or the Packers, or the spirits that come from the bottle. I think God wants us to be poor in those spirits, not meaning you cannot cheer for a team, but that you don't put them above loving the Lord. Again I say the Kingdom of Heaven is a gift, you cannot buy your way in, you cannot work your way in, you just need to ask Jesus to let you in and then walk with Him daily. He knows where the spirit of your heart really is.
Maybe I could explain this better by taking the "be" from in front of atitudes, and add another t, making it attitudes. How is your attitude toward Jesus? How is your attitude toward others?
Let's look at one more, folks.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
Folks, this might me one of the easy ones to explain. How often have you really "mourned"? Maybe you have mourned for the loss of a loved one, your heart just hurt from the pain of it all. Where did you go for the comfort? If you are like me, you just went to Jesus and to friends who all love the Lord. I have said so often, how do folks who do not know Jesus, get through those low points in life? Then on the other hand, so many folks, including me, came fully to Jesus at one of the lowest points in my life. But the death of a loved one is not just the only time we have "mourned". I know that Dolores and I have "mourned" more when something happens in the life of our children, someone who is messing up, maybe doing the bottle or drugs. Or when one is out of work, we hurt for the kids, we mourn for them and we pray for them. Some days we have mourned for our own pain, and really pled with Jesus to help us. Again, it all comes back to our Lord who will comfort us. He is the great comforter, and not one person can do better. God is good, God will be there for you. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO CALL ON HIM... And please do not be afraid to call on one of His workers. I do not know of many pastors who would turn you away in the time when you need them most, I do know of some, but not many. And while I mention it, if you have trouble and you need that comfort, and you are talking to Jesus and you still need help... this phone number, while not to heaven, is to my cell phone: 717 991 0754, and yes, you may call it if you need help... Day or night, you may call. Now, folks, I went long today... So let me go to prayer now.
Lord, Father of us all, Father who resides in Heaven... Hear our prayers today for those on our lists, and comfort us in our times we mourn and times when You hear our cries of pain and suffering. We know how Jesus suffered and died for us, to heal us from our own destruction, and Lord, please clean us from our sins today and help us to walk with You. We know that You are walking with us, but we want to walk with You... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings, for we really are blessed and we are "Blessed to be a Blessing" (Pastor Rick Denison). Have a great day in the name of the Lord. I love ya, Pastor Dan.
February 4, 2011 Who Needs The Doctor?
Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
Good Friday, get to work for the Lord, morning to all of you. Yes, it is Friday and the day we pray for those who are working the fields of Harvest for our Lord. Folks, that should be all of us. If we just look around us in this old world and see all the problems and troubles, and see what is going on over near and in the Holy Lands we know time must be running short. But folks, we do not need to run to those countries to get the word out about Jesus, we need to work hard right here at home. Let me be very bold, the other day in a speech President Obama told folks he was a Christian, and I ask this, how can he say that when he believes in abortion and even final term abortion!!! Folks, if you are indeed a true follower of Jesus, or you say you are CHRIST-like, which is what it means to be a Christian, then people should be able to see Jesus in you. Your smile, the way you carry yourself, the way you act or don't act, and I could go on and on. And the way one votes in Washington can also show on which side of the fence one might stand. One thing for sure, if you believe in abortion, you better go and look real deep into a mirror. Time to repent and walk with Jesus.
Please pray today for Kathleen Sansoni. At the end of the message today I am going to post an update I got from her husband Tom...
The Big Trip 8-4 Who Needs the Doctor?: Luke 5:31 - Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (NIV)
You will recall from yesterday that The Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belong to their sect complained to the disciples of Jesus about going to the home of a tax collector and a sinner to eat. You will also recall that Levi, the tax collector, had a great, or big, or big and wonderful banquet for Jesus and invited many other tax collectors. So why were these folks asking the disciples of Jesus about this and addressing it like they were eating with the tax collectors? Well, more than likely they were, well, going out to dine with our Lord Jesus. When Jesus heard the questions, He answered it as quoted. "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." Indeed if you are healthy, feeling fine, the last thing you are thinking about is calling your doctor. But when your body aches and pains and you have a fever and running like a turkey (turkey trots), then you want to call your doctor. What Jesus was saying was, I want to sit down and talk to those folks, I want to tell them that they need to repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is near, and we need to be telling folks the same thing.
We need to seek out the sinners and talk to them about repenting and sometimes we need to start with the person we see in that mirror when we look in it from time to time. In fact we need to be talking a lot about repenting to that one we see in the mirror, it should be the very first one we talk to about repenting. I think when we go on the road to preach, teach, sing, talk or whatever we do getting the Good News out to the world, we need to start clean for that trip. In fact did you ever just stand in front of a mirror and pray for the one in the mirror? Try it sometime, it does a soul good!!
Let's jump a little in scripture right now and have a sit with Jesus and His disciples at the table of the last supper, in other words let's take communion...
Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins and help me to repent of them. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Luke 22:19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you: Do this in remembrance of me." (NIV)
Take now your bread and eat of it... Dear Lord, Your body is broken for us, may we learn to feast on it, and feast on You in our travels. May we always remember You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Luke 22:20 - In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." (NIV)
Thank You, dear Lord, for spilling out Your blood to wash me clean of sins. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You... In the name of Jesus, whose blood was shed, I pray. AMEN and AMEN.
Now get up and rejoice for you are healed of your sins. Repent, sinners, and turn from sin and walk with the Lord... Doctor Jesus has healed us, let us try and not mess up... and folks, share those blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
On Wednesday night, Kathleen was struggling with breathing issues , deep coughing, dizziness from related coughing that she called back up to Duke Hospital for her scheduled pre-op for Thursday and cancelled the pre-op. Her outpatient surgery for the laser burn in the larger portion of the right bronchial air passageway to remove tumor tissue was scheduled for 2 weeks on Feb 17. This is to clear air passageway for insertion of the lung stent. That has all changed now. She has been on O2 for at least a month now. She went into Forsyth Cancer Center to her oncologist's yesterday(Thursday) to get her scheduled chemotherapy and the oncologist decided not to administer it and try to get Kathleen as an inpatient at Duke ASAP, which means we should hear today, Friday or no later than Monday morning, that she will be able to go too Duke by early next week. Keep praying all you pray warriors and all that I know is that this whole situation is still in our Heavenly Father arms. We don't need any meals or help here at home. However, there maybe need of people to stand by for any hospital visits or assist with an errand and I know whom you are. Sincerely grateful for all the help offered and given so far. Psalm 29V11. Just keep praying. Kathleen needs rest right now and some immediate action from specialists as Duke Medical Center.

February 3, 2011 The Tax Collector
After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. "Follow me," Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, and left everything and followed Him.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome to Thursday and the day we pray for our families and our schools. Yesterday I got a note from one of our prayer warriors who told this story to me... It happened in one of those areas that was really getting hit by the bad weather. The lady said it was really snowing and the snow was nearing a foot and a half and it was very, very cold outside, with the temperature nearing zero. She said her husband was just standing looking through the kitchen window in a fixed like stare, a really blank look. Then the winds started to pick up and the wind-chill was nearing 20 below zero. That was when she decided to LET HIM IN THE HOUSE. Gosh, I hope that was made up. Here are a few tips for if your heat goes down and you are cold, put on extra clothes and if you have a pet, a dog or cat, go to bed, put the dog or cat under the covers with you. Also put on a hat, a good heavy one. Most of our body heat leaves our body out the top. Gosh, heat does rise, right!!
With the weather, cold, windy, ice, snow, over most of the USA, and other places also it is time to pray for families and schools and please pray for those in charge of making those decisions about going to school or staying home. Please remember that school can be made up, the loss of a child being struck by a car while standing at a school bus stop cannot be made up. Sometimes errors are made when closing schools, please, those in charge, err on the side of safety if you make an error... AMEN.
The Big Trip 8-3 The Tax Collector: Luke 5:27 - After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. "Follow me," Jesus said to him, 28 and Levi got up, and left everything and followed Him. 29 Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. (NIV)
How many of us are in love with the Internal Revenue Service, the dreaded IRS? Not many, I would suspect. But these folks are our brothers and sisters, just like others, and we should be able to sit down and witness to them. While I am not saying that you should mess up on your taxes just so as to be called forth for an audit, just so you can witness, I would tell you not to put them down.
Back in the day when Jesus was calling His disciples, He also call on Levi, a tax collector to "Follow Me," as Jesus put it. And Levi did just that... While people did not look with favor on tax collectors, Jesus did not try and hide the fact that He was calling on Levi. And Levi was very open about sitting down and breaking bread with Jesus and doing it in great style. The Bible tells us Levi held a "Great Banquet for Jesus" at his (Levi's) house and invited were a large crowd of tax collectors and others.
Luke 5:30 - But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to His disciples "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" (NIV)
There are a few things that really stand out to me about Levi, and one is he just left his things and followed Jesus, how many of us would do just that? The next thing is that Levi seemed very happy to be following Jesus, not hiding the fact that he was having Jesus over for a big meal. You can see that because Levi invited so many of his friends and co-workers if I dare call other tax collectors co-workers. Have you ever crossed paths with other Christians that seemed to be ashamed that they were Christians? I have had people come up to me and whisper to me, are you a born again Christian? WHY YES I AM, and you do not need to whisper about it... Then they say in that soft whisper voice, I am also, I am a Christian also... GREAT, I WOULD ANSWER, and why are you whispering? And then there is those words, "Born Again". You see, if you are not "Born Again," sorry, you are not a Christian. I don't know how some people stand so confused about it and also want to be so quiet about it... I LOVE JESUS AND I WANT THE WORLD TO KNOW. I AM BORN AGAIN, WASHED IN THE BLOOD, REDEEMED BY HOLY SPIRIT AND I AM ON FIRE FOR GOD... could someone please say AMEN!
Tomorrow we are going to take a look at what Jesus said when the Pharisees asked the disciples of Jesus "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"
Dear Father in Heaven, I am born again and I am so happy about it, but that does not mean I do not sin and I need to be forgiven over and over... I need to do a better job at repenting and I ask Your help in that. I love You... Please be with families today and with our school families. Lord, please be in our schools and bring love and safety there. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Folks, Norma Orner is home and still needs some prayers... Eleanor Saylor is coming home tomorrow and needs more prayers. Be with those families and touch them, Lord.
And now go forth sharing your blessings and loving on the Lord and others... as I love ya...Pastor Dan.
