"Do not put the Lord your God to the test." "Test me in this!"
Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and a beauty here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Friday and the day we pray for all those who work for our Lord Jesus, and folks, that should be everyone!! Prayers also today for Burt and Patsy Emig. Burt is having hand surgery on August 2nd, plus some other things the following week. Also pray for our neighbor, Elaine, today as she heads for surgery. Confused about my lead-in scriptures today? Come on, let's dig deeper!
Tests 5: Luke 4:12 - Jesus answered, "It says: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test." (NIV)
Malachi 3:8B - "In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse, the whole nation of you, because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," Says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, all week we have been talking about tests. We looked at how Abraham was tested when told to offer his only son, Isaac, as a burnt offering. We talked about how God tests us, and just how we are being tested. We reviewed how we need to test ourselves, and now today we look at this. Maybe you are confused with this for it does sound like some double talk. God said don't test me, and then again He says test me. But it is not confusing if you put it like this... Don't test your God on anything except in your giving, and even then you must do it in faith.
When we look at the Book of Luke, Chapter 4: 1/13 - We see that the old devil himself is trying to tempt our Jesus and he is not making out at all for Jesus does not fall into temptation or fall for temptation and in fact tells old Satan off, so to speak. The Bible tells us that when the devil had finished all his testing and did not make out that "he left Him until an opportune time."
Now let us relate this to us, first of all we should never test our Lord God. One man tried testing God and here is how it went. It had rained and rained and the river next to the town was to flood. Firemen in their big trucks went door to door trying to get people to leave a low area. They talked to this one man who said I am not leaving, I am in love with God and He said He will always take care of me. The firemen left. The next day the water had come up around the man's house and River Rescue came in a row boat and told the man to get in for the water was coming and coming. The man again said, I am in Love with God and He said He will always take care of me. River Rescue left the area. The next day the water was all around the house and up to the second floor. The man was sitting on the roof of his house when a chopper from the Coast Guard came to pluck the man off the roof. Again the man told those National Guardsmen that He loved God and God will take care of Him always. The Chopper left and the house washed away and the man drowned. Later in Heaven the man came upon Jesus and said, Jesus you said you would always be with me and protect me. Jesus answered, I also told you not to TEST ME, but even with that sir and I know You loved me and still do, I did send you firemen with a fire truck, river rescue with a boat and the Coast Guard with a Chopper, did you expect more??
This story, made up as it is, does relate just how God helps us. We depend on those rescue people to help us out of trouble, we depend on workers to build us a house, we depend on doctors to help with our sickness and healing, we depend on farmers to grow and supply food, we depend on mechanics to fix our cars, and so on it goes. Who do you think lends all those folks we depend on their talent? TALENT ON LOAN FROM GOD, Don't TEST God, brothers and sisters, just have faith in His word and lean on Him. After all, folks, if you love Jesus and are a sky diver you still put on the chute, right?
One more thing from this scripture... While Jesus did go with the devil he would not bow to temptation, we, we, we, all of us, need to do our best to stay away from the master of evil and his workers for we will not always have the strength to fight the temptation, and again we do not want to TEST God to protect us from evil when we walk into those places on purpose.
Now let's look at Malachi and here we find the one exception on testing God... "Test me on this." Said the Lord Almighty. And folks, we must remember that if we are going to TEST God on this we must do it in faith. If you say to yourself, "self" I am going to put a $100 bill in the plate on Sunday and get back $1,000 on Monday, that is not giving to God in faith. Just give from your blessing and give from your heart and wallet or from your heart and from the pantry shelves, or give of your time, etc., but always give in faith and you will be blessed over and over again. An example that just happened to us... Last week on Wednesday we packed out a lot of food for a fire victim and sent it to their new apartment, that same evening we went and picked up food at a peewee football camp. We got at least ten times the amount of food in as what went out, in fact I estimated we got in over a ton of can goods.
The bottom line is have faith in God, have faith in God when He tests us, Have faith in God when we give to Him, have faith in God in our daily walk. Just have faith in God in all you do.
Thank You, Dear Heavenly Father, for all You do for us, I love You, Lord, and I want to pass all the tests You put me under. I want to walk with You each day. I want to walk in the light of Jesus and I pray all on this line want to do the same. Lord, be with all those who are working for You as commanded in Your Word. I pray that You will be with Elaine today and heal her, and be with Patsy and Burt, and also with their friend Barbara. Be with Pearl's family, and Lord, please heal my wife. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth, trusting in God and having faith in Him as you share those blessings He has given you. Have a blessed weekend, Love ya. Pastor Dan.
PS. I am preaching at Bethel United Methodist Church on route 850 outside of Marysville at 8:00 AM. It is an outside service. Then again at the Bridges of Bent Creek at 10:00 AM two different messages, so come to both...

Test Everything!!
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is Thursday and family day on this praise, prayer and message line. Today is the very first day of the rest of your life, why not walk it with Jesus and make it the best ever? As we pray today for families, please pray for the Sansoni Family and center your prayers on Kathleen who has cancer and has been fighting it off and on for a long, long time. Yesterday she had a chemo treatment, and we want to pray that it works and she will not be made sick by the side effects. Pray for Pastor Tony and Ruby and their daughter. For Pastor Charles and Katie Idler, Pastor Charles had a major stroke sometime back and had been residing at the Bridges. He has been moved. Please pray for Pastor Charles to be able to handle the move to a new retirement home. And today please try and get on your knees at least once to pray and please pray for our nation. Folks, God just cannot be happy with what is going on in America right now. And remember on family day to pray for all families, and please pray for the family of God. And also pray for the family of Pearl and also the family of Vicki.
We want to thank God for the new families that came yesterday for food and we want to thank God that we had food to give them. GOD IS GOOD, and we must not forget it... AMEN.
Tests 3: 1 Thessalonians 5:16 - Be Joyful always; 17 pray continually; 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do no put out the Spirit's fire, 20 do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21 TEST EVERYTHING. Hold on to the good. 22 Avoid every kind of evil. (NIV)
Test Everything. Do you remember the commercial a few years back about some sort of food and the kids would give their food to little Mikey and if he liked it then they would eat it? Well, brothers and sisters, the Bible tells us to TEST EVERYTHING, it does not tell us to let someone else take the test for us. As we test everything we are told to hold onto the good and avoid the evil. Now how can we do that if indeed we trust someone else to test it for us? If we are truly walking in the light of the Lord, if we are working and walking each day with Jesus, our standards should be much higher than those who are not walking with the Lord or those who walk with the Lord when they need him.
Test everything. As most of you know I love to cook and as I cook, like most cooks I am always tasting the food. And while I love to cook, I also love to cook for others, and cook at events. The other night I made some different stuff, and was in a hurry and did not taste as I was going. Thankfully it was just something small for Dolores and me. Now I set this "stuff" on our counter table and we sat down to eat it. What was it, well it was a squash dinner, all kinds of squash just steamed and then I had melted butter to dunk it in. We had some butternut squash, it was good, we had some other squash and it was, well, fair, but needed more than butter. Then it came, we bit into it, I looked at Dolores and she looked at me, and I took the plates to the trash can and scraped off the food. It was that bad. What would have happened if I would have sent that food out for others to try? Folks, like a good chef we need to be testing everything and we need to keep the good and even share it with others and we need to get rid of the bad. And listen to me on this, we need to test things that others tell us is good. An example might be, you get something on the email from a friend and it looks good but you did not read it all, but you forward it to others, maybe your friend did not look at all of it, and at the end or near the end there is bad stuff and you put it out... No, test it yourself.
Now let's go to church, you have a great pastor, you love them with all your heart, as we should love all people. You should be taking notes, you should have your Bible in church with you so you can follow along. You need to know where your pastor is getting what he preaches. Does it come from the Bible or from some writer or some other book? Does your pastor believe in ALL of what is in the Bible, or do they pick and choose? I am not picking on your pastors today, just need to be sure you are testing things. Each day you should be doing the same with me. God gives me topics and helps me research them and I can say this, 99% of the time I get my information from the Bible. Once in a while I will go over a news story and fit it to the Bible.
We need to TEST EVERYTHING, and we need a standard to test it against, and that standard should be Jesus Christ and how He lived and our Bibles for the word. In big things and small we need to test things, and parents with young kids, we need to test things for them. You do not put hot water in the tub and jump in without testing the temperature of that water and burn our backsides. And for sure we need to test the water before putting in a baby. Why I even test the temperature in the shower before I put in one of our dogs. When you get a cup of coffee, do you test it first or just take a big swallow and find out it was real hot?
Another test we need to make is testing our schools and what they are teaching our children. Don't just think they are being taught good stuff. We also need to teach our kids how to test things. And also when we make purchases, if the deal seems to be to good to be true, it more than likely is a bad deal. Cheap price and you purchased junk. What was that saying "buyer beware".
In review, test everything and hold it up to the standards of Jesus Christ and His Word found in the Bible. If it will not stand the Bible test, it is not good. While we must trust on others for a lot of things, like are you getting a gallon of gas out of that gas pump for a gallon on the meter... Are you getting a pound of meat if it tells you that on the package... Are you trusting others and then finding out that they have lied to you on a lot of things... Again, test it for yourself. Test it to God's Standards.
Dear Father in Heaven, please help us test all things according to Your standards and also for Your will. Lord, help Kathleen today and take away the cancer from her body. Be with my brother Tom Sansoni and help him as he walks with his wife Kathleen. And also take the cancer from the body of Ron, and Lord, be with Pearl and her family and heal her and comfort the family. Lord, be with pastors Tony and Charles and their families. Bless Vicki and her family, and Lord, please heal Vicki. Lord, help us walk in Your light daily, 24/7, Lord, help us never take our eyes off of You. Help us to read and understand Your word. And Lord, be with Your family, the family of God, and help us get ready to be the bride of Jesus, and Lord, teach us to share those blessings You send our way. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings, and folks, please test things to be good before you get involved in them. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

July 28, 2010 Tests 3
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in faith; test yourselves.
Praise the Lord it is Salvation Wednesday... I am so sorry I am late today, I had a funeral to pastor this morning early and when I got home we had two families that needed food, so we packed that out for them. Well, how are you folks today? Someday you need to just send me a note and tell me.
Today is the day, Salvation Wednesday, that we pray for the lost and ask God to use us to help bring them in. I do pray that you are not lost today.
Tests 3: 2 Corinthians 13:5 - Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you----unless, of course, you fail the test?
While Paul was writing this to the Corinthians, it fits us well today. Test yourselves, Paul said, to see if Christ really is within you, and He is unless you failed the test. Gosh, back when I was in school I wish I would have had teachers say to me, test yourself, Danny, or better yet, along the same order, grade your own test. How long has it been since you looked deep into your heart, real deep, and see what God sees? Do we say, hey I am doing great, I love the Lord and I know He loves me, and yet while you believe that there are folks in your life you can't stand and your hate for them stands out so plain to others, and that would also include God. We really do need to take a deep look into our hearts and minds, and maybe we should sit down and go over God's commands and also His commandments. Example might be, do we love our neighbors, all of them, or is there one that really tests us? How about some other commands of God or commandments, there is a difference. Like we have the ten commandments, and the two great commandments, and we have those commands or orders, like go into the fields of harvest and tell the good news. I am going to be brief today (ok, who said praise the Lord) for today I want you to test yourself, give yourself a deep deep look in the mirror. You say that you fully love the Lord, and that you live daily without sin. Look deeper, my brothers and sisters. How bad is it, how long since you opened your Bible, how long since you went to church, how long since you really took time to talk to God? Did you pass the test, if you did was the score just 70? Back in school I would pass by the skin on my teeth, today I would really like to get a good mark on my test. A self-exam might be very hard to do, we might be too hard on ourselves or maybe too soft. Maybe we forget things. We might say, hey, Lord, look at me, I am really trying hard to be right up there, but the next day as we leave work we think, I need some computer paper, some paper clips and a roll or two of tape and into the purse they go. We forget that the commandments are strict, they are black and white with no gray areas. You know how on some jobs and even in laws, there are gray areas. A person is speeding, same type car, same police officer, same speed amount over the speed limit, and one gets a fine and the other a warning. The commandments are to the point and we need to listen to them. And when we are judged on them we all will be judged the same way. We need to test ourselves as God looks at us, if we broke one of the commandments or commands we need to ask God to forgive us, then we need to forgive ourselves and get on with doing better. Some might think they do nothing wrong or little wrong, when in fact they need to look deeper. Today, take that good deep look into your heart, and say, am I living the best I can for Jesus and do I pass the test? I pray you do, and folks, I am going to take the same test today. Am I doing it right for Jesus? Some days I think I could do a whole lot better.
Dear Lord, today I want to take a self test to find out if I am doing right for You. But Lord, when I took those self tests in school or those tests where we could correct our own paper, Lord I cheated on them, and today I do not want to cheat on You. I have done that before in my life, and it was wrong then. Even teachers said if we cheated on them we would pay later and they were correct. Lord, from now on in my life I want to get it right for You and I need your help doing it. I know, Lord, this prayer is more about me, but Lord, I think You wanted it to be that way. Lord, I pray others might find themselves today, others might test themselves today. In the name of Jesus, I ask that You put me to work helping to bring in the lost, and Lord, I pray that I am not at all lost, that my love for You is real as I feel it is. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Folks, is my message messed up today? If so, I am sorry, I am tired and as I am typing I am also trying to look deep into my own heart, giving myself that test I am talking about, that self test.
Go forth now in peace, and may the God of peace go with you and may you share those blessings that He gives you along the way. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

July 27, 2010 Tests 2
Test me, O Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind.
Schools day, schools day, dear old golden rules day, reading and riting, and rithmetic, taught to the tune of that hickory stick... Oh yes, it is Tuesday and Schools Day on the line. Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is indeed a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, it is just beautiful. As you pray for schools today it is time to start really getting into it, if you pass a school building take a few minutes and drive in (no, not into the school, just into the parking lot) and sit there and pray for a while. Take some anointing oil and anoint the flag pole or the sign at the school. Put a little cross on it, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost...
Today I ask you to please pray for Vicki and her family and her extended family. Pray all lines up for Vicki's surgery. Pray for Pearl, and her family, pray for Ron and Donna (Ron has cancer). Pray for Pastor Tony and his wife Ruby. Pray for food pantries, not just ours, but others. Pray for those who bring in food and the needy who come to the pantries. Pray for New Hope Ministries, who has moved to a new location. And please, please pray for my wife Dolores. I had her to the doctors last evening, she can hardly walk, something happened about two weeks ago that has given her pain that is over the top. And above all today, PRAISE GOD, FOR HE IS GOOD.
Tests 2: Psalm 26: 1 - Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have led a blameless life. I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. 2 TEST me, O Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind: 3 For Your love is ever before me, and I walk continually in your truth. (NIV)
Wow, here we see David asking God to test him, "Test me, O Lord." Brothers and sisters, as we saw yesterday with Abraham and his only son Isaac, God does test us. But do we have the nerve to call on God in our prayers and ask Him to test us as David did? And if we did that and if God did test us, would we pass or fail? Would we get a 100% or 0% or something in between? I know for me, I would really want to get that hundred, but I know that I fail often, so while I pray that if God tests me, that I will keep trying to get that 100%. How about you? Brothers and sisters, we need to try our very, very best to walk with the Lord daily and not just when we want to or that one or two hours a week when in church. How has God tested you?
I want to tell you about this really neat and loving lady, her name is Eleanor. She has three wonderful kids (all grown) and recently gave her husband over to the Lord Jesus for care and custody and God took him home. Her kids, two of the three, have also been tested with health issues. Two reside together with their dear mother. I drop in once in a while to see them and I never heard any of them complain about their problems at all, in fact the smiles on their faces and I really mean this, the smiles on their faces show the love of Jesus coming through. This family has been such a blessing to me, as I see what they deal with and what Eleanor has done all of her life with one of the kids. Eleanor has been indeed a caregiver all of her life, and she helps others also. If this is indeed a test from God, well, what I have seen Eleanor is as near to that 100% as anyone walking this earth will get, and while I believe that we all fall short of the 100%, she has not missed it by far. Thanks, folks, and they are on this line, for helping this old pastor walk more in faith each day. Eleanor, you are indeed a great earthly example to follow and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. As for the kids, all of them, no slacking back, they went to work each day, struggling to walk, but went in and worked hard. What a family, and folks, they all set that example that the Lord likes to see.
So how has the Lord tested you? Health issues, money issues, lost that home in a fire, lost your job maybe to no fault of your own, lost a spouse in a car accident, maybe even had a child taken from you. Sometimes we want to blame all things on evil, and while I do believe that Satan tries to take us down daily for walking with Jesus, sometimes Jesus will let things happen to us just to see how we stand with Him. I truly believe that has happened with both Dolores and myself on this line. But we are not going to stop, and I must tell you that there might have been a day when we would have said let's retire from all of this. No as long as we can push, and we pray till the day Jesus takes us home, we are going to pass this test. I told you yesterday that if not for a fellow student named Pat Wells, I would have failed all my tests in high school, except in math, but she helped me with homework each morning in homeroom. But it has changed, and while for a long time in my life I failed all the tests that were given me when it came to Christ, I did come back, and although I am not going to carry that high grade as some, I am trying my best to pass the tests. I am tired of blaming problems on Satan, I am now taking blame for myself. We have ordered Satan out of our lives in the name of Jesus, and that means he has left, for Satan is no match for Jesus. Now understand, Jesus is not going to give us anything that we cannot handle if we work it with Him... He is really not.
Let me give you another example of a couple who deal with health issues. Let me just call them S and O today. I have seen Mrs. S deal with pain to a point she could hardly walk yet she went on working for others. And Mr. O, and I could call him Mr. O. O., works for others so much, the other day I watched as his oxygen bottle ran out, he laid it down and keep on pushing to get a project done for others to enjoy, in fact he got so tired he laid down on the floor to rest. Now he could have said I can't do this, he did not, he pushed on. Does God test us like this? I think he does, and again I ask, how has God tested you today, or in the past? Will you pass or fail the test, will you blame others or complain? How about it... Tomorrow I am going to ask God to give me lots of scriptures on this. I might be late tomorrow as I have a funeral in the morning to pastor. But it is Salvation Wednesday and we need to keep on working for the Lord. Again, are you passing the tests that just might be coming from God, and let's say that Satan has laid one on you, are you going to stand firm in Jesus for that test?
Dear Father in Heaven, our prayer is short and to the point today. Help us each day to walk with You, You have trusted us with the day, and we pray that we can walk it for and with You. I pray that any test that is put before me today, I'm walking arm and arm with You, will pass. Please look over our prayer lists and honor them according to Your will for each person... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth, passing the tests, and one test from God just might be, sharing your blessings (I do not mean to put you on a guilt trip there) (well maybe). Anyway, share those blessings and know that Jesus loves you so much, and I love ya also. Pastor Dan.

July 26, 2010 Tests
Some time later God tested Abraham.
Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. It seems the humidity broke over night after some storms passed by. Monday, the day we pray for our leaders, for our military, for our veterans, for police, firefighters and all others who work so hard to keep us safe and healthy. Please put your doctors and all others who work in the medical fields on that list also.
Tests: Genesis 22: 1 - Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him. "Abraham!" "Here I am," he replied. 2 Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about." (NIV)
Oh my gosh what a test... How would you like to be tested like Abraham was tested? Gosh, I really hated tests all my life. In school I hated those tests, and when a teacher would pull a surprise test, that was real hard. It least if the test was scheduled the girl who sat beside me in class had time to study so my grades were better when I looked at her answers. No, I am not kidding on this. If it were not for this young lady, Pat Wells, I would have, well, spent a lot more time in high school.
But let's get back to the Bible and this week we are going to look at some tests that God did to His people and did they pass the tests. Do you think that God still tests people today? I want you to think about that one and maybe send me your answer. Have you been tested by God?
Let's get back to Abraham and see how he fared in the test. Can you think of it today, God would ask you to sacrifice a child. Well, folks, let me end that for you right now. God will not ask you to sacrifice your child or children because He sacrificed His own Son for us. Anyway, and again I ask you to read Genesis 22:1/19, do you remember that I brought this subject up last week when I was talking about the Lord and all those four letter words? Abraham set out the next morning after God gave him the order to sacrifice Isaac. He took a donkey, two servants, some wood and of course his son Isaac. When they reached the place that God told Abraham about, Abraham built an altar. Isaac said to his father, "father, the fire and the wood is here but where is the lamb?" Little did Isaac know that he was going to be the "lamb" that day (my words). As Abraham followed the Lord's words and the firewood was arranged and Abraham was ready to put Isaac on the fire, an angel of the Lord said "Do not lay a hand on the boy." "Do not do anything to him." And soon after that they found a lamb in a thicket. You see Abraham passed the test, he was faithful to God above all else, even to the point he would have given his son to the Lord. Again ,how have you been tested? Hard times, health issues, etc. Does God still test us? We are not to test the Lord, except in one thing... can anyone answer what that one thing is we can test God on?
Lots to think about, my friends, and we will be talking tests most of the week, unless God puts me in a different direction... Let's pray.
Dear Father in Heaven, if you test us today we pray that we will past that test, most of all, Lord, help us to walk in Your light, walk to please You in all we do, live life under Your commands. And Lord, please look over our prayer list and honor themn according to Your will for all of us. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Have a blessed day... love ya, Pastor Dan.

July 23, 2010 Four Letter Words
Love the Lord your God and keep His requirements, His decrees, His laws and His commands always.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and the day we pray for all our brothers and sisters who go into the Fields of Harvest for Our Lord Jesus to tell the Good News.
Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to all creation." (NIV)
All of us are on orders from God to follow this Scripture as all of us need to follow all of His, well, just look at my lead Scripture for a start. So we pray for those working the Fields for Jesus and we pray for those who are not to get cracking! Also please keep praying for Tom Border and please today pray for Oliver Ogden that God will give him an open airway so he does not need to carry that bottle over his back.
Four Letter Words 5: Deuteronomy 11:1 - Love the Lord your God and keep His requirements, His decrees, His laws and His commands always. (NIV)
Psalm 23:6 - Surely goodness and Love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (NIV)
This has been a great week looking at those good four letter words. At a sing-along yesterday at the Bridges I told them I was preaching on four letter words this coming Sunday. You could hear the big gasps of air. Of course like most people when you hear someone say something about four letter words, they are talking about the curse words. So again I say this has been another fun week with our Lord working on what He directs me to do. God is so good (good is a four letter word).
By now most of you have figured out that I have indeed saved what in my opinion and also in the scripture that I used yesterday, that Love is the best of the best four letter words. Right now I want you to do something for me, please do this, please... Take you hands up from the computer and sit back in your chair or even stand up. Stretch out your arms, straight from your shoulders to the side, stretch them out far. Now picture Jesus with His arms stretched out on the cross while He was nailed there for you and for me to take away our sins and to carry our burdens. Now folks, that is true LOVE. No greater Love... now we are going to look at a few more scriptures about love...
John 16:13 - Greater LOVE has no one than to this, that he lay down his life for his friends. (NIV)
As we see, our Lord Jesus was our friend, and He indeed showed that love when He laid down His life for us. Also, folks, we live in a free country (not talking taxes here); we live in a free country and that is because we had many, many, many men and women in our military lay down their lives for this nation and the friends of America. And I feel that that Scripture also holds for those who were willing to lay down their love, and went and did the same things in the military as those who died in battle, but came home either wounded or safe. NO GREATER LOVE!!!
Now I must go to the great commandments, for they talk about love and this is one we must do, yes, this is a must do to get into heaven...
Mark 12:29/31 29 - "The most important one", answered Jesus, "is this 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one." 30 "LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." 31 "The second is this: 'LOVE your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." (NIV)
Now while it is easy to Love God, it gets harder for some to love their neighbor when their neighbor might be a different color, or race or religion. We must Love everyone for our neighborhood is the WHOLE WORLD. Now this one makes it hard... listen up...
Matthew 5:43/45 43 - "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'" 44 "But I tell you: LOVE your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." (NIV)
Are you seeing that it is hard some days as to be a Christian, to be born again we do have some rules we must follow to get into heaven. It is not just saying save me Jesus, we must then work for Him to show our faith. I know people who hate others, and in some cases that hate will block them from Heaven. Some when I write this will know I am talking about them, while others might feel this tugging at them and I don't even know them. Sometimes it is a past spouse, and folks, you've got to get rid of the hate, you've got to get over it. You must LOVE them, you really must. Sometimes it is ones you must work with. And you know, there are people who hate others, who, I truly believe they don't know why they hate the other person. This is so important, brothers and sisters, we must LOVE, it is a commandment from God and Jesus tells us we must love even our enemies. And we need to pray for our enemies. I think we need to take this word of advice, and I do mean you and me, and am I writing advice for myself? Yes. We must love all people as God Loved His Son... Listen to this...
Mark 1:11 - And a voice came from Heaven: "You are My Son, whom I LOVE; with You I am well pleased." (NIV)
This was God The Father of Jesus, and our Father also, talking to Jesus after He was baptized by John. Now I ask this, do you live daily to please Jesus? Will Jesus look at you and say I am well pleased? I know He LOVES all of us, even those who hate Him, but is He pleased with You today? Now you see I say God loves all of us even those who hate Him, but even with that Love for all, we still must love Him and our neighbors and our enemies to get into heaven. Now to back this up even more...
Mark 9:7 - Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: This is my Son whom I Love. Listen to Him." (NIV)
Folks, I need to stop someplace, as I could write about four letter words and talk about those from the Bible for many a day. If we would talk just the Scriptures about Love, we would be going on for days.
Dear Father in Heaven. I Love You, and I pray right now that all who are reading today can tell You that also... I Love You, Jesus. Please help us all to Love you deeper and deeper each day and live to please You and to keep all commands from You, not just those that we think of as commandments, I pray that You will give us a push so that we do Your work. Thanks for loving us, for loving me enough to die for all of us. Please take care of all Your workers and also please take care of my dear friend Oliver. And please take the infection from Tom. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth in love and share your blessings, and let me put this Scripture with you right now...
1 Corinthians 13:13 - And now these three remain; faith, HOPE and LOVE. But the greatest of these is LOVE. (NIV)
And as I sign out each day, Love Ya, Pastor Dan, I want you to know that I really do Love you all. I am answering a call from God to write each day and it is my love for Him and also for all of you that I do this... So, Love ya, Pastor Dan.

July 22, 2010 Four Letter Words
Your hand made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands. May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word.
Good Family Day Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Praise report in from Ruby Mayeski, as her heart tests came back great. If anything was blocked, God cleared it before the doctors got to do the test. THANK YOU JESUS. Another praise report... Yesterday we sent our food for a family that was burned out of their home, we restocked their shelves... Single mother with 4 kids. We sent a van out with a big load of food. Last evening I picked up the food from the football camp. I would guess over, and I mean over, a TON of food. When we give in faith, God replaces it over and over again... this is just more proof. Praise God for He is good.
Today we pray for families, and please keep praying for Pearl and her children. And please keep praying for Dolores, as each day it seems she is slowing down from pain, and she keeps on keeping on for God. This morning she was in the food pantry helping to get that food order ready. Folks, never stop working for the Lord, for He never stops working for us... AMEN.
Four Letter words (day 4): Psalm 119:73/74 - Your hand made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands. May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word. (NIV)
Today we will start out with the word Hope, and folks, what a nice four letter word. Let me tell you that there is hope for you and for me and there is hope for those who use those bad four letter words. The hope we all have comes through our Lord Jesus. Some folks think they can get hope out of a booze bottle, or street drugs, but let me tell you that might bring you up for a while, but then you will begin to feel hopeless. Let's look at a few more scriptures.
Romans 15:4 - For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and encouragement of the Scriptures we might have HOPE. (NIV)
In this Scripture we can see that if we look at the Scriptures, meaning read the Bible, we will find Hope, and again I truly believe that if we want hope at all it must be found in Jesus, in His Word.
This next Scripture is a benediction, let's look at it.
Romans 15:13 - May the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit. (NIV)
Now on this next Scripture you will find out, if you look at it, the word for tomorrow, some of you emailed me with the word already. All who emailed the word, were correct.
1 Corinthians 13:13 - And now these three remain; faith, HOPE and love. But the greatest of these is love. (NIV)
On this last Scripture today, please read 1 Corinthians 15:12/34.
1 Corinthians 15:19 - If only for this life we have HOPE in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. (NIV)
I want to bring out Hope for all of you who suffer this day... Bear with me on this one, words of HOPE right from the Bible...
Romans 5:1 - Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through who we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the HOPE of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character HOPE. 5 And HOPE does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. (NIV)
For those who are hurting, folks, read and reread this Scripture for we indeed HAVE HOPE IN OUR LORD JESUS...
Dear Lord Jesus, Master of all of our Hope, we give You honor and glory this day for giving us hope each day. Lord, please be with families this day and be with those on our prayer list. Thanks for taking care of Ruby and thanks for letting us help others and thanks for that big load of food coming in... You are wonderful, Lord. May we give this day back to You as You gave it to us first by living to please You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Go forth now, in HOPE, knowing you are blessed by our Lord Jesus and be sure you share those blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

July 21, 2010 Four Letter Words
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"
Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Oh, and yes, I am late this morning, but oh so blessed. We have been loading up one of God's messengers with a "load" of food to take to a fire victim. And we packed out a lot of food and tonight we go and pick up the food brought in by those little kids at the football camp. Please pray that the food coming in tonight will be 10 fold what went out. God works that way, you know. Salvation Wednesday and the day we pray for those who are unsaved and that God will use us in the fields of harvest to help bring in the lost. Are you ready to go to work for the Lord today? You better be!! Also prayers today for Pearl who is now down to 77 pounds. We need to place her in the hands of the Lord. Pray for her family, Sandy, Donna, Dennis, Beverly, Todd and Roy, her six children, as they stand by their mother in this trying time. Prayer warriors welcome Dave to the line and pray for his body to straighten out. And please pray for my wonderful wife Dolores, her pain level is going up and her body is bending and twisting and her legs are going bad and this is happening fast.
Four Letter Words 3: John 1:29 - The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" (NIV)
Just a reminder that we are doing four letter words from the Bible this week, so that we can arm ourselves with four letter words that are really great to use. Today God led me to use the Lamb as the first of the four letter words, for indeed it is another name for our Lord Jesus. Yesterday you recall that we used Lord as our four letter word. I do want to point out to you this... The Gospels, Matt, Mark, Luke and John, all four letter words (cut me a little slack on the Matt, folks) and of course John the Baptist. Let's get back to the "Lamb". In Genesis 22 there is a story of how God called on Abraham to offer up a burnt offering and here is just part of the story that talks about the "Lamb":
You see, God asked Abraham to go and offer up that burnt offering. He took his son Isaac with him and when they got to the place where they were told to go they found the fire and the wood. Isaac asked his dad, where is the lamb for the burnt offering, and Abraham answered, God will provide it. When Abraham went to lay his only son on the altar of the Lord, and was ready to slay him for the Lord, the angel of the Lord called out for Abraham not to slay his son and then they found the ram (a lamb) that was to be slain on the altar. Please, please, read Genesis Chapter 22 and how God tested Abraham... and then He supplied the lamb. How will God test us today? Now, God is not going to test us in this way because He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for us. Yes, God sent the Lamb to die for us. But does God still test us this day? I think so, and more often than we think.
I can remember years ago sitting in church, I had 55 dollars with me, a 50 dollar bill and a 5 dollar bill, which should I put in the collection? If I put in the five dollar bill Dolores and I can go out for dinner after church, if I put in the 50, we just go for the cycle ride and have a soda or ice cream. Well, it was a test and I put in the 50 and we went home for lunch and then for a ride for ice cream. The next day I was notified that the rent on my service station (Exxon) was going to be lowered for six months because of some construction on the road. Unheard of that Exxon lowered rent, but it went down $700 a month for six months. When God tests you, please get an A+ on the test.
Revelation 5:12 - In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" (NIV)
Revelation 5:13 - Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them singing: To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power for ever and ever. (NIV)
These scriptures telling us that we need to sing praises unto our Lord God. So tell me, did you figure out that word, the word for Friday? It is what Jesus is all about folks... think and let me know.
Dear Father in Heaven, today I pray for the unsaved, and ask that their eyes and mind might be opened to have their soul saved by You. In the meantime put us to work seeking out the lost for You, dear Lord. Please be with those on our prayer lists today, and Lord, please be with Vicki and Josh. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Go forth now sharing your blessings and using good four letter words... Tomorrow, the four letter word HOPE. And there is always hope with Jesus. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

July 20, 2010 Four Letter Words
"The Lord bless you and keep you, The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, The Lord turn His face upon you and give you peace."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Tuesday and it is Schools Day on this line, the day we pray for our schools. Pray for schools in the summer when they are closed, why? Well. because we want God in on the planning of the classes for the next year, we want God to be with teachers, aids, drivers and all others as they get some schooling on their jobs. But most of all we just need to keep God in our schools. Prayers also today for Pastor Tony and Ruby Mayeski. Pastor Tony has ongoing problems with his eyesight and with getting weak, and today his wonderful wife Ruby is having a heart procedure done in the hospital, please pray that all is well and no blockages are found. God is good in matters of the heart, you know.
Four Letter Words (2): Numbers 6 24/26 - "The Lord bless you and keep you, The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, The Lord turn His face upon you and give you peace." (NIV)
My dear brother in the Lord, Tom Sansoni, and I have been emailing back and forth and the scripture listed above came up just this morning, and it was like God used Tom to plant the message deeper in my mind. When we are talking four letter words and curse words, so often it is the Lord or His name that gets trashed. So what better four letter word to talk about today then the word "Lord"? It is the very best four letter word in the Bible, however, it is not the four letter word I am looking for to use on Friday, now while I know what that word is, do you? It is the backbone of our faith in the Lord, it is why Jesus died on the cross... that is enough hints, let's get into just a few scriptures about the Lord.
Romans 15:5/6 - Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus; that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ. (NIV)
1 Corinthians 1:3 - Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the LORD Jesus Christ. (NIV)
Hebrews 13:20/21 - Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our LORD equip you in every good thing to do His Will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, Through Jesus Christ, to who be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (NIV)
2 Corinthians 13:14 - The grace of the LORD Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. (NIV)
Did you notice that all of the above scriptures are used as benedictions at some time or another? Most often it is the one from Numbers: "The Lord bless you and keep you, The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, The Lord turn His face upon you and give you peace." and also the one from 1 Corinthians, Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the LORD Jesus Christ. Now let's look at just a few more, and there are so many with the name LORD in them.
Psalm 1:1/2 - Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD and his law he meditates day and night. (NIV)
Psalm 4:6 - Many are asking "Who can show us any good?" Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD. (NIV)
Psalm 4:8 - I will lie down and sleep in peace for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. (NIV)
Psalm 23:1 - The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want. (NIV)
Now just let me wrap all of this up today on the four letter word LORD... If you are someplace when someone curses the Lord's name, even if it is not in four letter words, why not just say this... May The Lord bless you and keep you. Or just pray this: Lord, please bless that person who just swore. Cut the Lord loose on the one who is cutting down the Lord. Please stand firm on the Word of Our Lord, and folks, there is no better way to honor our Lord Jesus Christ than to live daily for Him in all we do. Don't get drawn in by our enemy, Satan, and those who work for him.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for all the blessings You send to us each day, and Lord, we ask today that You watch over us and watch over all those on the prayer list. Lord, be with Ruby this day and help her. Thank You, Lord, for taking care of Tom Border and working with the doctors to open all those blockages. Thank You, Jesus... and in Your name, the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray today. Amen.
Now let's go out a little different today, as you go forth share those blessings, and now let's close with the Psalm 100, you will see why. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
Psalm 100: Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise; be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations. (KJV)

July 19, 2010 Four Letter Words
"Abba, Father," He said, "everything is possible for You. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what You will."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is very early here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, in fact right now it is 4:30 AM and our Lord God is putting on one beautiful light show. We are having a very heavy thunderstorm going right overhead. Six of our dogs are huddled right at my feet and one is on my lap. Oh, how we need this rain! Thank You, Jesus. Hey, it is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders and be you like our president or not, we need to lift him and his family in prayers. Also all of our other leaders. Prayers also for our veterans and remember some of those wounded veterans are just 18 years old. Pray for our current military, our local and state police, FBI, CIA and everyone else that works hard to keep us safe and healthy; firefighters, ambulance folks, etc.
Prayers today also for Doctor Larry Cox, DO, he is my doctor, and he is born again and today his football camp opens. So as we pray for the football camp we also pray for Carry The Light Ministries food pantry as Dolores and I will go this afternoon and pray for the kids, and talk to them about bringing in food. Wednesday we will go back and pick it up. Last year about, my best guess, about a half ton of food.
Prayers for the family of Mary Dugan, one of our first row girls in church, who went home to Jesus yesterday just before church. Pray also for the staff at the Bridges as they get very close to their guests.
Four Letter Words: Mark 14:36 - "Abba, Father," He said, "everything is possible for You. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what You will." (NIV)
Are you like me, sick and tired of going places and hearing all those "four" letter words that we just do not want to hear? Are you sick of hearing those four letter words and also curse words taking down our Lord Jesus? I heard on the news just last week that the courts have now told the radio and television producers that those once forbidden four letter words are now ok to use. Well, early this morning God laid it on my heart that it is time we point out some GOOD four letter words, so we have them in our minds and can use them. So where is the very best place to get the very best four letter words? Well, if you said the dictionary, you are so WRONG, the best place is the Bible, of course. However, I invite you to take each four letter word that I bring out this week and look it up in the dictionary.
Getting started, I just went to the A's and found Abba, and look at the message it gives. Abba is an expression of a special or close relationship. It is also used as a title of honor. But I don't want to stop there for I want to really point out from our lead scripture today that this is Jesus using the four letter word when talking with His (our) heavenly Father. Don't stop there, it is the content of this scripture that is so important, the example that this scripture shows, please note when Jesus says to His Father, Thy will be done, not my will. Yes, they are my words, His are quoted in the New International Version (NIV) as "Yet not what I will, but what You will." It is always important when we pray to pray in faith, and also know that it is God's will that should be done.
Let's look at one or two other four letter words today...
Pray: What a great four letter word, and to pray is to talk to God, and to listen to God. Jesus even took time to teach us how to pray when He taught us what we know as the Lord's prayer. Your prayer life is very important, and all of us should pray often, sometimes when we are alone, sometimes as a group, and of course, on line, in church, I mean to tell you that God's line is always open, and I just love this prayer that my mamma taught me. Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray my Lord my soul to keep, if I should die before I wake, please have breakfast at the gate. Ok, I changed it somewhat. Just talk to God, when you pray you do not need fancy words, you just need to talk to God, and yes, be sure to listen. And if you hear those four letter words of cursing when out and about, just say to the person, I am going to "Pray" for you.
Ok, one more for today, and these are in no set order; however, the four letter word that sets the tone in my opinion for what Jesus did on the cross will be held till last. That will give you a chance to email me, telling me what word you think it might be.
Holy: Holy Spirit, thou art welcome in this place... Yes, the four letter word "Holy". We find it throughout the Bible, and I for sure cannot cover them all. But from the beginning...
Genesis 2:3 - And God blessed the seventh day and made it "holy" because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done. (NIV)
and on to the end of the Bible --
Revelation 22:11 - Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is HOLY continue to be HOLY. (NIV)
Of course we all know about the seventh day and keeping it Holy, but do we do it? And those words from Revelation are right in the mix when Jesus is saying this.. "Behold, I am coming soon."
Let's pray... Lord, we have lots of four letter words that are good, and we need to pull from them, and not use the ones that are nasty, dirty and mean. Lord, help me, and help us all to only let good words pass from our lips, and forgive us please for when in the past we have messed up. Give us also the nerve to talk to others who curse your very name. Please honor our prayer requests today according to Your will for us. In the name of Jesus, our Lord, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings, and share good things with others. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

July 16, 2010 So Who is your spouse?
"Hallelujah" For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.
Good Friday, working in the fields of harvest for Jesus morning, my dear brothers and sisters. What a beauty God has given to us. For all He does for us, we need to be working for Him and also praying for all those who are really in the fields of harvest working to bring in the lost. Please keep all those who have churches assigned to them by God, and all those who travel to teach, preach, sing, and do all kinds of other things looking for the lost and getting them to the feet of Jesus to be saved by Him. Again I remind you that we cannot save the lost, only bring them in for Jesus. We are sort of like the ladies and gentlemen who work in the ambulances bringing in the sick and injured so a doctor can work on them.
So who is your spouse? Revelation 19:6/7 6 - Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah" For our Lord God Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. (NIV)
So who is your spouse? Even if you were married before, even if you have had more than one wife, even if you have never been married, get ready, for we all, yes, even us men, we are going to be the bride, and our Lord Jesus is coming back for us. The Groom, Jesus, is coming for His church, His people, and we, the bride, if we are saved, of course, will be waiting upon our Lord, our Groom, for it will be time for the wedding. Are you ready folks, are you ready? I hope you are, I can't help but wonder just how I might look in a wedding gown. I am just kidding, of course. So what will it be like in heaven and who will be your spouse? Jesus will be the groom, and no piano or organ music, the sweet music will be that of the trumpet of the Lord... "Oh the trumpet of the Lord shall sound and time shall be no more". Hot dog, whoopieeeeeeee, I am excited about all of this. So what about your spouse from here on earth and maybe an X or two? Will we know them, yes, and our children and our friends, and that wife or husband, what about them? We will know them as family as the only marriage in Heaven will be between our Lord Jesus and we who are saved through him. And Jesus will be the groom.
Folks, I don't think this wedding is too far in the distance. While I am not going to waste my time trying to figure out when Jesus is coming back, I am going to put forth my energy in trying my very best to keep repenting of my sins and keeping myself clean before God and also getting the word out to others, example, working in the fields of Harvest.
Mark 16:15 - He (Jesus) said to them. "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)
Revelation 21:2 - "I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband." (NIV)
Luke 20:35 "But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage." (NIV)
Even our new Jerusalem, where we will all live with God, if we are saved, will be ready as a Bride. In the scripture from Luke. and it is Jesus talking, it states "Those who are considered worthy". Let me translate that for you... Considered worthy = Born Again", "Saved", Washed in the Blood of Jesus". Now I made the statement I think it is not too far in the distance, and here is why I think it. Look all around America and see all the hate, see some now standing and saying that "crackers and cracker babies" should be killed, and others still referring to our black brothers and sisters as "ni--ers" and the hate goes on and on... We see all around us the gay community and those living in the sin of having sex with one of the same kind, men with men and women with women. We see just how many unborn babies are murdered, we see older folks taking advantage of kids, and you know what I mean by taking advantage of... and it goes on and on. We see children in other countries starving, so skinny that their ribs are showing all the time. People collect money and send it to those countries and most of it never gets there. COME ON BACK, JESUS, and end this mess. Your bride, or some of us, are ready, and we need to get to work on the others. Here is another good reason I think this event will be happening soon, because Jesus said it...
Revelation 22:7 - "Behold, I am coming soon!" Revelation 22:12 -"Behold I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done." (NIV)
Revelation 22:16 - "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."
Are you ready, are you ready?
John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through me." (NIV)
We need to confess, repent, and then work for Jesus till the day we are called home. Hear me on this one... You never retire from spreading the good news. OK, let's close out today by praying a prayer of salvation. I cannot do this for you, this is an I prayer, not a we prayer. I will just lead you. Ok... let's do it.
Dear Lord, I believe in You, I believe in the Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost, I believe in the fact Jesus died for my sins and was risen from the dead and today I serve a risen Lord. Help me repent of my sins and work for You, Jesus. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth, and share your blessings, and if you are married here on earth, enjoy it now, and know that when we all get to heaven, it is just going to get better and better... and remember, here on earth that God should be heading up your household, then the man, then the woman. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

July 15, 2010 So who is your spouse?
"And in the resurrection from the the dead (they) will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they will no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection."
Good Family day Thursday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Today as we pray for families I ask that you pray for the family in the White House and as you pray for them, pray that they come to Jesus, before they bring things to the public. Please pray for families on this line, and pray for families who have family members who struggle with addictions. And pray for the family of God.
So who is your spouse? (3): Luke 20:35B/36 - "And in the resurrection from the the dead (they) will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they will no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection." (NIV) (words of Jesus)
Ok, let me get started today by clearing up what I said I would clear up today... The sin of divorce! To this day there are churches that will not let a divorced man be a pastor in the church. When I talk churches here I am talking denominations here, folks, and in fact I know of one man who was a deacon at an Assembly of God church. Now this man was divorced and beside being a deacon he was the leader of a singles group. Then he met this wonderful lady in the singles group, they fell in love and got married. He then was removed from the deacon board as this denomination says, as the Bible tells us that to be a pastor or deacon they must be a man of just one wife. Now in their eyes I guess he was a man of more than one wife, but in the mind of this writer that is not the case. I believe this is in the Bible to prevent leaders of the church being married to more than one woman at a time. Remember back in those days, and still in some countries, men had/have more than one wife at a time. Now here comes the part that I look at, if divorce is a sin, and in most cases it is, and the divorced person, man or woman, comes to Jesus in faith and asks to be forgiven, are they not forgiven, does our Lord Jesus forgive all of our sins? Jesus does not pick and choose some sins (as long as we do not blast the Holy Spirit). Jesus heals us from all sins and they are washed away and gone. To me, and I will hear from some on this and I pray I do, to me for a church to hold back a good person who was divorced after they have come to Christ and asked to be forgiven, indeed are NOT BELIEVING IN ALL THAT IS IN THE BIBLE. I know sometimes it seems the Bible goes both sides of a fence, but when you really get into it, it does not. Folks, and I am sure there are a lot of divorce people on this line (I am one of them, folks) and if we did not believe that Jesus forgives us from the sins of divorce then why in the world would we still be having faith we are going to heaven? JESUS FORGIVES OUR SINS, all of them, if we ask. While people will cast up our pasts, Jesus will not, and when others cast up your past, tell them in a nice way that your past is just that, your past, it has been given over to God and it is a done deal. Oh, with all that said, if in that same church a man and woman were just living together and now the man wanted to be a pastor, he could go to school and do just that. He would need to break off that live-in relationship by getting married (again if it is a first time marriage) or living under a different roof... and giving up all that other married stuff and you know what I mean on this. If you don't, I am talking sex here...
Ok, with all that said, and now those divorced people have been forgiven, and remarried, "who is their spouse?" I promise that I will tell you tomorrow, remember now, and here is a hint... We are talking about who is your spouse in Heaven. Will it be your first spouse, maybe the one who had the children with you, or your second spouse or third, who is your spouse in Heaven?
Ok, here is the question for today, you have never been married, never at all, "who is your spouse?" Am I getting deep on this one, so who is your spouse? Come back tomorrow when I tell you the answers to all the questions of the week. I have received some answers back and so far all who have answered have answered correctly. What about you, will I hear from you? Who is your spouse?
Oh, and let me add this today so you can get working on this... If you were married, and went through a nasty divorce and I believe all of them get nasty or hurt people, you need to forgive the past spouse, you really do. At our big picnic the other week, my first wife and her mother, ex mother-in-law whom I still call "mom" came, and they also follow this line. All the past has been forgiven, not forgotten I am sure, but forgiven by each other and by God. You need to work on that one if you are still holding things, like hate, against that former spouse. Please remember that we must love our neighbors and those X's are our neighbors. And someone said AMEN.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for another beautiful day, and thanks for all You do for all of us. Lord, please forgive us, forgive me of my past, including failed marriages, and Lord, please bless families today, bless them, and Father, I pray that folks come to You today and come nearer and nearer, and that because of that families stay together and put You in charge of the family. Lord, if only I would have done that years ago, so Lord, help families bring You on board in the number one spot. In the name of Jesus I ask that You bless all families, of all colors, of all religions, and give them strength and peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings and have a wonderful day and please come back tomorrow when we find out the answer to "Who is your spouse?" Love ya, Pastor Dan.

July 14, 2010 So who is your spouse
"Teacher," they said, "Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and have children for his brother. Now there were seven brothers."
Salvation Wednesday, I love Salvation Wednesday; however, the truth is each day should be a day we work with others on Salvation. Again I want all of you to remember we cannot save one soul, that is the work of Jesus and Jesus alone, but we need to be His helpers, His workers, His word spreaders. We need to get into the fields of harvest and get to work. But before we go to the fields of Harvest to work on the Salvation of others, we need to be sure that we are saved. Oh my gosh, did this old man just say what I think he said? Yes, without judging, I am pretty sure there are people that think they are saved but are not. Maybe they came to Jesus and prayed to be forgiven and then just stopped, thinking they were saved, and did not go to work for Jesus. Remember, you can work your way into heaven, but faith without works is DEAD. We need to come to Jesus, ask to be forgiven, claim His victory over the grave, REPENT of our sins, and go to work for Him... Gosh there is a whole message.
Prayers today other than for the unsaved and for God to use us... For Ron and also Kathleen who have cancer... Allison, who is clear of cancer and recovering from the surgery... For the Men's group from River Oaks Community Church in Clemmons NC.
Also please keep Pastor Larry Hale lifted in prayer. Pastors from time to time while dealing with their flocks find a very full plate because things sometimes hit in bunches. Pastor Larry is facing that now. Pray for God to keep him held up in these trying times..
Praise God for a good soaking rain this morning, I real soaker. Thank You, Jesus, for watering my tomatoes and squash and filling my well...
So who is your spouse? (day 2) Luke 20:28/31 - "Teacher," they said, "Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and have children for his brother. Now there were seven brothers. The first one married a woman and died childless. 30 The second 31 and then the third married her, and in the same way the seven died, leaving no children." (NIV)
It would really help you understand this message if you were to get your Bible out and read Luke 20:27/40 or Matthew 22:23/32.
Yesterday I talked about a man and woman who were married for 40 years and the man passed away and I asked this question, who would be her spouse in Heaven? I got the right answer from my dear friend Big John, a retired teacher from Carlisle High School. But I am not telling you yet what that answer is. I want to add a little more confusing to this... About two years after the death of this man, his dear wife met this really nice senior man who was widowed and after courting each other (no, not pushing each other around the nursing home, although that happens) but after courting each other they got married. Now let's say he was 70 and she just turned 60. So now saying both of them are Born Again and love Jesus, who will their spouse be when they die and get to heaven? By the way, the couple is expecting children! Yes, their children from the last marriage were expected to come to dinner (got ya). So what do you think?
Now let me add one more thing to this... We know that divorce is a sin except in just a couple of things (we will discuss that on another day). So a divorced man and a divorced woman got together and got married. Questions, will they make it to heaven because of the sin of the divorce and remarriage? And if they get to heaven, who will be there spouse be? Tomorrow I will answer the first part about will they get to heaven, and then I will have a few more questions on this subject. Who is your spouse? Tomorrow will get deeper. See you tomorrow... and yes, I am preaching on this subject, this coming Sunday.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the messages this week and thanks for giving me a fresh way to present it, for I am trying to be like You and keep the interest going. Lord, I want so much to honor You each day by walking in Your shoes, by working for You and living for You and I pray that each person will put their name in this prayer and feel the same way. Lord, be with my dear brothers in Christ, Pastor Larry as he deals with a full plate, and with my brother Tom Sansoni as he works with his men's group and with his wife who has cancer. Please take cancer from her body and that of Ron. And heal Allison's wounds from surgery. Thank You for taking the cancer away. Lord, be with those on the missions trip that were injured and Lord help us this day to seek out the lost and talk to them and get them to come to You to be saved. Give us the words to say... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
I have a question, what if, as in the Bible, you are one of the younger brothers and you must marry your deceased brother's wife and she is UGLY?? Oh, am I having fun this morning... Got to keep you laughing once in a while. But there is an answer for that also, remember we are all made in the image of God, so that means we are all beautiful!! There are no ugly people. Hey share those blessings, brothers and sisters. I will be back tomorrow... Love ya, Pastor Dan .

July 13, 2010 Who is your spouse?
"The People of this age are married and given in Marriage."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters and welcome to Schools day on the prayer line, the day we pray for our schools and all who have anything at all to do with them. Praise God for the overnight rain we had here in Central Pennsylvania, we sure did need it. God is so good, so very good. Another praise report, and listen to this one... Allison Speck, who had the major surgery just last week, and I think on Wednesday and you remember how Carl (name for her very large tumor) was removed, and so were all the other tumors, and she had to lose part of her liver, I think over half... She was released from the hospital yesterday... CAN YOU SAY PRAISE GOD. Now I am relaying this message from her mother, please, if you know her, give her time to rest before you come to visit. Please honor that request. Prayer requests for Pastor Tom Dewolf, who has congestive heart failure. Prayers for the mission team from the church in Selinsgrove, Pa., who were injured in the bomb blast in Uganda. Here are their names, please note, the pastor from Uganda is now confirmed as deceased...
"There is news coming from Uganda about an explosion in a restaurant in Kampala. Carla Gotshall reports that six members of her mission trip stayed behind for an additional week of mission work and were having a meal, along with Pastor Peter, in the bombed restaurant. The status of the team members is as follows:"
>
> Lori Ssebuline - Alive but no word on her injuries
> Joanne Kerstetta - Alive with facial injuries
> Emily Kerstetta (granddaughter of Joanne) -
> Alive but with part of a leg missing
> Kris Sledge - Alive but with a broken leg and
> blind in one eye
> Pamela Kramer - Alive but no word on injuries
> Thomas Kramer (14 year old son of Pamela) -
> Alive but no word on injuries
> Pastor Peter Mutabazi of Bwaise Pentecostal
> Church - No word - missing (now confirmed as deceased) (added in by pastor dan)
Prayers today for Harrisburg Pennsylvania Mayor Linda Thompson who opens each meeting with prayer. One of her staff has called on the American Civil Liberties Union to make her stop.. We need to support this lady in prayer. Also today please pray for Carry The Light Ministries, God is good and this old pastor went out and ordered a lot of canned veggies for the food pantry, I ordered them last Thursday and they came in yesterday, they also went on sale last Sunday meaning we got the sale price, even with that, the bill at the Giant was over $1,200.00. Praise God we had the money to pay most of it and the credit card came out for the rest. With these canned goods we should be back up to a good level for this time of year. Next week we have our kickoff for the food drive at a local football camp. Pray for a good gathering of food there. Please remember our The Ministry food pantry is open year round.
Who is your spouse? Luke 20: 34 - Jesus replied, "The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage." (NIV)
I am sure all of you at sometime or another attended a funeral of a person whose long time spouse was standing at the end of the casket greeting people and you heard these words over and over again. We will all meet in heaven again someday. Ok, I must insert here, we will all meet in heaven someday if we have followed God's rules set forth in our Bibles to get into heaven (see John 14:6 for a start). But let's say for right now that both the husband and wife who were married for about 40 years knew and know (one is alive and one is gone) our Lord Jesus. So God is good, and they were married here on earth for 40 years, a lot of years. The marriage must have been blessed for when they got married the man was just 20 and his wife but 18. That would make them 60 and 58 and let's say today that the man who was 60 was the one in the box, and the lady was the one greeting others.
So I insert this question right now, saying the lady will not marry again, will they meet up in heaven as a married couple again? What would your answer be? Will you send me an email and let me know? Yes, I am stopping here for tomorrow we are going to change the playing field a tad... This will get interesting I am sure.
Dear Father in Heaven, we are thankful for a spouse and pray you will take care of them, we pray also this day that a marriage will always be between a man and a woman for some in the United States want to change that. Father, I pray that You will send a new pastor to the church that lost theirs in the bombing and that the pastor will pick up the work with those children. And Lord, bless those who were injured on the mission trip, and please, Lord, don't let this keep them from working for You. We know, Lord, that we are always in danger when we commit to working for You. Bless others that are working for You, Lord, and bless our schools, bless them please, Lord. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings and as God has given you this day, try this, give it back to Him by living to please Him in all you do... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

July 12, 2010 Lip Service
The people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips.
Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Monday and the day we pray for our president and all of our other leaders, and we pray for our veterans, our military, our police, firefighters, medical folks, and all others who work so hard to keep us safe and healthy. Please also pray for Kathleen Sansoni and her husband Tom. Kathleen is fighting a battle with cancer and needs our prayers and support, and we need to pray for Tom as he stands by his wife in this battle. A praise report on Tom, who was laid off from work a few months back, HE HAS BEEN CALLED BACK. Thank you Lord. In the meantime, God did provide. God is good, folks. Also Mark, who was laid off, has found new work and it is going good. Praise be to God. Also today please pray for the oil to stop flowing from the leak and help people who are to be in charge of these things understand that if we were drilling on top of the land and we had a leak, it could be capped quickly. There are many places in America where God has placed oil, gas, coal, etc., and He put it there to be used, and yes, we are to take care of the earth, but it is to be used. Right now God is talking to me about the coins, do you remember that story? Coming soon to this line, I am sure...
Speaking the Same Language or Lip Service: Isaiah 29:13 - These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men. (NIV)
Here in the United States of America most of us think it would be nice if all people had to speak "English". After all, it is our language, and in days past those coming to America tried hard to learn to speak English, although many with an accent, and many speaking what we have learned to call broken English. We have many people in this country who can't speak English at all, and then we have people like me who cannot understand any other language except maybe the bark of our dogs when they want out. For a day or two, or for however long God keeps me on this subject, I want to talk to you about "speaking the same language". Where will it go, I have no idea for God has only opened the subject this morning and it could even end after today. But for today, I want to talk to you about what God did point out... and it comes from Isaiah 29:13 and it is about lip service, maybe that is what I should have called the message, lip service, and in fact, I am going back and changing the title right now... Hold on..... Ok, that is done.
Do you know people that might tell you just what you want to hear, that the words coming from their mouth are to be pleasing to your ears? It could be your car salesman, or the one selling you a house or some appliance at the store. Those who work on commission have been trained on telling you just what you want to hear and the rest is buried in fine print. You know it is the same when some of us, and again that word us which is you and me or me and you... us. We get on our knees and we talk to God and we pray and we pray and we pray and maybe we are praying our brains out, but are we praying from the heart or just our head? When we tell God, or others that we love them, is it coming from our hearts or our lips? Lip service does not cut it with God, and folks, it does not cut it with people either. Although sometimes when it is one person giving another lip service it might take a while for one to see through it, but God sees through it right away. Years ago, way back when I met Dolores, I used to watch some of this going on. You see, Dolores and I met at Parents Without Partners, and I would sit with Dolores when we first met and we would tell each other about our backgrounds... and I would look around the room and see this going on many places and sometimes you would see the same guy, talking with different women each week, but the story was the same, it was lip service. Dolores and I did not go to many of those meetings after we met, for we found out that we did not use lip service, we were speaking from the heart. Folks, lip service does not last, for it is just that, lip service, it could be somewhat true, it could be an out and out lie, or maybe it was true at the time but was not imbedded into the heart. So, folks, today as we go to pray and end the message for today, I want you to try this each time you speak. First, take your words on a trip around your body, run it past your brain and then take it to your heart, and work with it in your heart, for that is where the good stuff comes from. Anyone can speak from the lips, but I truly believe if you speak from the heart it is much more truthful and lasting, and maybe, maybe sometimes you will fool others and maybe fool me, but one thing for sure, the words that come out of your mouth will never fool God... He is the master of the truth.
Dear Father in Heaven, we do not want to give anyone lip service, be we speaking to You in prayer or in passing or speaking to others we want to speak from the heart, help us with that today please, and Lord, please check on our prayer list and act on our requests according to Your will for us, and Lord, please take care of my wife Dolores, she hurts so bad... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings and one great blessing to share is the truth, so let your words come from your heart, that would be a great blessing to share... Love Ya, Pastor Dan.

July 9, 2010 Sharing 5
And do not forget to do good and to SHARE with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is working in the fields of Harvest for the Lord Day on this line. Yes, on Fridays we pray for all those who work for Jesus and help to bring in the crop. The harvest is ready, folks, the question is, are we workers? Sorry I am late today, was up early and out picking up things for the food pantry and the heat got at me a tad.
Sharing 5: Hebrews 13: 15 - Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise the fruit of lips that confess His name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to SHARE with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. (NIV)
God lead me to this scripture today and has me pointing out this... So often when we talk about sharing and giving to God and sacrificing for Him we think of reaching for our checkbook, or our dollars. While our Bibles talk about Tithes and Offerings, here we find that we are to sacrifice by giving from the fruit of our lips. The fruit of our lips, let me just expand on that a little bit. I am sure all of you have eaten fruit and have purchased the same. All of us know that we can get real good fruit or we can let it lay just a little too long and we have rotten fruit. Is that not the same for the "fruit of our lips"? I want you to think about that, and I can truthfully say that I have heard good fruit and rotten fruit come from the same lips within minutes of each other and some were talking about our Lord Jesus when doing it. I have heard people praise God for food and in minutes trash His very name. There is one thing about "fruit of the lips"; this fruit cannot be returned, and I believe you know what I mean by this. Once the "fruit of the lips" has left the lips, you cannot return it to those lips, although if you use the wrong fruit of the lips at someone the lips might get a whack. Here we see how God wants us to offer up a sacrifice of praise and confess His Name. Let me tell you when we use our lips to curse Jesus, He might just give us a whack or not protect us from one.
These scriptures also remind us to do good and to share with others for when we do good and we share, those sacrifices will please God. There is no one in my mind that I would rather please than God. Let me tell you that if we men, if all of us (us=you and me) and I am talking to the men right now -- Let me tell you that if we men would live each minute of each day to please our Lord God, we would have one very happy wife and family. And ladies, the same goes for you, if you live to please God your husband should be very happy.
Before I go to prayer today I want to ask you about four questions, now you could send me your answers, but better still just answer to yourself...
What have you done today to please God?
What have you done today to upset God?
Which one makes you feel better?
What kind of fruit came off your lips today? Good stuff? Bad Stuff? Gossip? Will you pray with me to do better from now on?
Dear Father in Heaven, as we keep learning more and more about sharing, we find out today that we can share what we have called the fruit of the lips, and Lord, starting today, starting right now I want to try and make the fruit of my lips fresher and I am talking nice here, not what some might think as fresh talk. Lord, I don't want anything anymore to come off my lips that I would not say in front of You face to face or in front of my dear late mamma. Lord, forgive me in the name of Jesus, and Lord, bless those workers in the fields today and may I be one of them... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth sharing, sharing from your blessings, sharing from your wallet, sharing from your food shelves, sharing from your lips and sharing all good stuff, for indeed God has shared with you... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
This from Pastor Larry Hale
This news is too good NOT to share.
Some time ago, I accidentally shared a prayer request with you, that was meant to go directly to our "e-prayer" chain. It was in regard to Allison Speck, a 19 year old student at Messiah College and a member of "Wesley United Methodist" in Marysville, who has been battling cancer. For those of you in this area, you may have seen her on the news. Susquenita High School students rallied around her. Many churches had her on their prayer chains. Her mom kept everyone updated during the highs and lows of her adventure.
Many are wearing bracelets that proclaim "God is bigger than Carl". Carl is the nickname Allie gave her largest tumor. It was very large and connected directly to the blood supply of her liver, making it inoperable. There were also several smaller tumors.
After chemo and radiation, Carl did not shrink appreciably. However, his consistency did change and yesterday her doctor, Dr. Choti at Johns Hopkins was able to operate. According to the last e-mail we received from Allie's mother, "Carl" and "The Carlettes" are all gone. Dr. Choti pronounced her to be cancer free. ALL GLORY TO GOD!!!
God is BIGGER than Carl!!!!
If you would like to be part of our "e-prayer" chain, please send me an e-mail with your e-mail address to let me know.
While you're at it, please lift up little 5 year old Trent who had brain surgery last week and is expected to be at our Vacation Bible School next week!!! Also, for Rev. Tom Dewolf who is in ICU at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill.
Blessings to all!!!

July 8, 2010 Sharing 4
Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in His holiness.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Family day on the line and today as we pray for families please pray for the Speck family. If you have not done so, please see the praise report from last evening about Alison. In fact, it is worth sharing again and here it is again with the prayer that I put with it...
PRAISE GOD FOR HE IS GOOD... Brothers and sisters. I just could not hold this till Thursday. Pastor Larry Hale just sent me a message that Allison (Speck) is out of surgery and doing good, and that the surgery went well AND THE TUMOR HAS BEEN REMOVED... Keep praying warriors and please stop right now and thank God with me...
Dear Father in Heaven, all honor and glory to you this day, thanks for Doctors, Nurses, and all who work with Allison, thanks for taking care of her and also watching over her family... Again Lord, all honor and glory to You, and Lord not just for this but for all things good. You are wonderful, Lord... In Jesus' name we give praise and thanks... Amen.
Another praise report... Once again today my good neighbor "Art" was out early watering his plants and I was at The Rock of Hope in my yard, watering the plants around the rock with water supplied by THE ROCK. Once again we got together and prayed, and brothers and sisters, it is wonderful to have neighbors to pray with and there is NO BETTER WAY to start the day than with early morning prayers and also with a great neighbor. Folks, if you are an early riser and you are out and about your yard and you see a neighbor, talk to them and see if you can't pray with them. That is some really good sharing and someone say AMEN...
Sharing 4: Hebrews 12:8 - Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in His holiness. (NIV)
As I look at Hebrews 12:8 and remember back at not just my father but also my mother and remember as they disciplined me: Now I know you all thought that I never, ever did anything that was wrong that would require my parents to discipline me, but once in a while, I did step out of line. Once in a while, ok, every now and then, ok, daily!! I am not going farther than that one... If I was raised Catholic they would have needed a confessional just for me. I would have had to have my very own priest. Ok, I was not all that bad, but I did get disciplined and most of the time, the punishment was far less then I deserved. If one of my parents would send me to bed without supper, the other would "sneak" me up some food. Looking back I think they planned it that way. As I look at the statement that our fathers disciplined us for a little while I could get two meanings out of that. One would be that the little while would be till we left living under their roof, the other would be a short punishment. I can look back and remember some of the punishments. One thing my daddy would not stand for would be for me to talk back to my mamma. That would be the worst of the worst, the belt. Now my daddy never beat me, but I did have some red butts in my young days. My mamma was good with the back side of a butter knife, if acting up at the table, she would grab the blade of the knife and the other end would come across your knuckles. Oh, and I ate my share of soap, in fact, my mother made soap and I think it was called lie soap (I spelled it that way for I ate it each time I lied.) Other punishments were being grounded. Now I must tell you this, once I got my first cars and my old truck, I did try hard to behave for my parents said if I was bad, they would take my car... and I never lost that car. The line was put down when I was sixteen and they had the punishment that I listened to. But what does all this have to do with sharing? Folks, here is how I feel about that. I learned a lot from my parents and their rules of house and home, all based on the Bible. What they shared with me back in my tender years has not left me. I had good parents, and folks, I used a lot of the same rules with my kids. Rules are needed, and should be made and shared. If parents would teach their kids rules and punishments in those tender years we would not have so many in jail today.
The second part of the scripture tells us that God disciplines us for our good, and I really think our parents did it for the same reason. Now think about this, God disciplines us so we can share in His holiness. Now some folks might think that God does not discipline us. I have heard people say we have an all-loving God and everyone will make it to heaven. Not so, folks, only those who are born again. If God were to let our bad behavior slide, not pay any attention to it, it would not be love. A good example is how God sent Jesus to be punished for us. Think about it, and God does punish us, but look at the example He set for us. Jesus stood in for us for our sins, and all we need to do is say we are sorry. But does God really punish us or discipline us? Of course He does. Some will disagree with me, but I think some of our pain and suffering is a direct result of things we might have done wrong. Now does he cause all of it to happen, no, but He could stop some of what happens to us that is bad, that causes pain. But does he cause any of this punishment that the Bible in this scripture refers to as discipline? Let me first remind you that Jesus Christ is indeed the same today as He was yesterday and He will be the same tomorrow. And with that said, may I remind you of Noah and his family and how the rest were destroyed. So you think God will not discipline us... I am telling you right now we need to get straight with God, we need to go to Him on bended knees and ask to be forgiven of our sins, and we need to work hard at getting it right.
Father in Heaven, thanks for sharing discipline with us, thanks for parents who followed those rules with me, and thanks for forgiving me just as my parents did. But Father, you went beyond that, You sent Your son to die for us. Forgive me today, Lord, please forgive me... and again, thanks for sharing Your love, and all the needs we have and thanks for dying for me... In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings with others, and please remember to share God's love as it is your best blessing... and if you have children, show them how you need to share discipline when they need it... love ya, Pastor Dan.
