February 19, 2010 The Journey 56

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Today is Friday and the day we pray for those who go into the fields of Harvest to work for the Lord. Tonight there is a concert at the Glenvale Church of God, Route 850, Marysville, Pa. The Couriers are the singers and in my opinion the best singers out there are now and always have been the best of the best, not just in singing, but the examples they set in their living.

Please keep praying for Allison as she is in very bad shape, at the end of the message I will post an update. Also please keep praying for my wife Dolores, she is still in the hospital (Holy Spirit Camp Hill, Pa.) and I just talked to her, she had a very bad night. Thanks for all the cards and flowers she has received. Last night we were blessed with twin baby goats, sadly one of them has passed away, but the other is doing just fine.

The Journey 56: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. 10 Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen." (KJV)

Today as we look at the Lord's prayer we are looking at "and the power, and the glory, forever."
Now to start this I must tie it to "For Thine is the Kingdom." as I need the "For Thine" from that line that we did yesterday. So what are we praying here? "And the Power." We are just telling God the Father that He indeed has all the power, all of it. Let me just point out a few things about this power. I don't need to go far in the Bible to show you this. Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning GOD CREATED the heavens and the earth. (NIV) How much power do we need to show, He made it all, all of it He made... and He did it by just talking. And God said... you remember that? Then He made us, from dirt (that is why I have ring around the collar.) Also we need to remember that God, the same one, for there is but one, also caused a very, very big flood to happen and He wiped out all people except Noah and His family. And does He still have the power, yes He does. By His will He still does things like causing the weather, causing the storms, causing people to be healed, and listen, causing life, babies to be born. While I do not understand 99% of why God does things, I know that He has the POWER TO DO ANYTHING HE WANTS TO DO, FOR HE IS GOD. Did I hear someone say Amen...

I don't understand why I had two baby goats born today and one died, but I know that I am thankful for the one. I years ago did a funeral service for day old twins. I know they got a pass to Heaven, but I don't understand all of God's work, but I do understand He is still in control and I am really glad of that for I trust Him more and more each day and more than anyone I know here on earth.

Now let's talk about "And the Glory". This to me means we are praying that God gets all the glory, and we should keep none for ourselves. Even when we receive a reward for something we might have done here on earth we should give God all the glory for indeed if He had not LOANED us the talent to do what we did, we would have not got it done. Without God we are NOTHING and we should always remember that. Without Him we are nothing. In all things, including this wonderful prayer, we should be giving God the glory. When you see the football player running into the end zone and getting on His knees real fast to say thank you or pointing one finger to the sky, they are giving God glory. Some only do the end zone dance... Ok to dance, but give God the glory first. One goat died, one made it, I am giving God the glory that I have one. Upset yes, but still giving God the glory. Right now each of us, each of us, I SAID EACH OF US, should be giving God the glory for another day. Can you yell out right now THANK YOU JESUS...

And that last word. "Forever". And some pray for ever and ever. Regardless, it means just this... It is for as long as you have breath. That is how long forever is. Tomorrow a wrap up and that last word. It will be late in the day.

Can we now just pray the Lord's prayer together... and I mean pray it don't just say it...

Amen."

Now go forth sharing your blessings and please share them from the top, not the bottom... for if you share from the bottom, chances are there is nothing left to share. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Update on Allison
Good afternoon,
Allison has not felt well for a couple of days....vomiting, no appetite, chest pressure when she swallows or eats. Last night she said she was very tired and just wanted to go to sleep. I took her upstairs to the bathroom and she told me she was freezing. I felt her skin and it was hot. We were to call Hopkins if Allie's temp went over 100.3. Her temp was 101.8. I called. We were told to go to Hershey Med ER immediately. The doctor called ahead with orders. Allison was, of course, quite upset. She did not want to go to the hospital, she wanted to go to bed and sleep. So we arrived in the ER about 10:00PM last night. Her temp on arrival was 103.5. This poor kid has suffered so much and then the nurses were not familiar with the port Allie had inserted. They accessed it with a needle and Allie tolerated that pretty well. Well, they couldn't get any blood return. They were talking about a clot and clot busters and all kinds of stuff. I told them the port worked fine at Hopkins and it was just flushed. Finally they called the IV nurse who told them they had accessed the port with the WRONG needle. They had to pull that needle out and stick her again. How traumatic!! I am so glad that I am a nurse for many reasons.

They drew blood work and her white blood cell count was 0.2, that is very low. They started IV antibiotics and fluids......after 2 hours of trying to access the port!!! She was also pretty anemic at 7.2 and 22 for you medical folk. So she got a unit of blood hung in the ER. She was admitted to a room about 3:30 this morning. We now must wear masks and wash hands well before going in her room. She is not allowed any flowers or fresh fruits or vegetables that might carry bacteria. Her resistance is very low. They rechecked her blood after the first unit and her hematocrit came up to 26 but her white blood cells went down to 0.1.

She is having a lot of pain and pressure in her throat and chest when she eats and swallows. They sent her for a CT scan and found nothing out of the ordinary. They think the chemo has caused irritation of her esophagus into her stomach even though she has no mouth sores or a sore throat. They are going to give her Mylanta and Protonix. Pray that she gets relief of this pressure. Ask that it be completely removed and the area healed so she can eat. She eats and then shortly after she vomits up a green bile colored liquid. It is so hard to watch. She has slept a lot, Thank God! Therefore the night was shorter for her than for me.

We were told she will be in Hershey until her white blood cell count improves that she can be discharged. They are looking all over her body for signs of a bacterial infection since the body's immune system is too weak to protect itself. Pray that her blood cultures are negative and that her white count responds well. Let the blood she receives be safe and replenishing to her body. We just want her to feel better and be able to come home. She said to me this afternoon "Will I always feel this bad?" My answer was...."I hope and pray not." Help me to pray her well. We really need a "good day" for Allison. This child wants so badly to be healthy and so many of us take our health for granted. Be thankful for what you have and for a body that moves and works and heals itself. Ask God to show you all of your blessings....you might be surprised.

February 18, 2010 The Journey 55

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and last night for the first time in what seems to be like forever the temperature did not go below freezing. It was 33! God is good and we all know that spring is just around the corner. Thanks for your prayers for my wife Dolores and our son Matthew... Matthew was released from the hospital yesterday with new meds and we just give him to God to be taken care of. We pray he will stay with the program laid out for him... Dolores had a bad night and is not feeling good this morning, she remains in the Holy Spirit Hospital with pneumonia.

Please add Ruth Sanderson to your prayer list and please keep praying for Ronald and all the others we have with cancer and please also keep praying for our Allison, our high school girl with cancer... I will post updates as I receive them.

Also remember this is family day on the line so we pray today for all families and be sure to pray for your own family. I think sometimes we pray for others and forget our own family.

The Journey 55: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Back again for another day with the Lord's prayer and we are almost done, I hope to finish it up tomorrow and then maybe write a recap on Saturday. Today let's look at this line.

"For Thine is the Kingdom": When we are praying this line we are indeed praying that it is God's Kingdom and here I am not talking about just Heaven. It is His Kingdom and that includes the United States of America, even Washington DC, but I do wonder if He might want to dump that one... just kidding, It is all His, and not just the United States, but all of the world, all of the stars, the sun and moon, and planets and those planets that we have yet to even know that they are there. Just think once in a while our people who study the planets and stars, etc., will put out a news flash... New planet just located. And I get to thinking, did they just find it, or did God just let them see it, or did He just add to His vast Kingdom? It does not make a difference, for it is all His. The snow covering your lawn, it is His, the lawn that the snow covers, it is His. And folks, like it or not we are also His, we are part of His Kingdom, and even those who say there is no God, He loves them just as much, listen to me here, He loves them just as much as He loves those of us who work for Him. Which by the way is another good example of why we should love ALL of our neighbors, regardless of the color of the skin or if they worship like we do. We need to love them and we need to try and lead them to Jesus.

Thine is the Kingdom, yes, and we are praying just that when we pray this wonderful prayer. We are saying, Hey God, we know that it is yours or are we? Do you believe it in your heart? You know it is true that even if we purchase a house we will never really own it because we have a government that taxes us on it, like we are paying rent for it, and if they want it for any reason they have the power to just take it away. Oh, they say they will give you fair market value for it, but it just shows a point. But our governments around the world, local, state, national, none of them have a right to it, because it belongs to God and is only on loan to us.

Right now a lot of people are hurting for jobs, they are out of work, down to their last dollars, and to top that our governments are broke or going broke. The City of Harrisburg, Pa., is about to go under. Our state of Pennsylvania is in trouble, and our National Government is just running the money. Let me tell you how we can all get back on our feet... Listen to this old man here, and it must be done in faith. We need to give back to the Lord and we need to do it off the top and we need to do it in faith. You can test God on this. America is to be a Christian Nation, we were founded on those principles and if we had a president that would go before the people and tell them just what I have said you would see the country start to turn around.

We need to return this part of God's Kingdom back to Him. People need to give to His work and you can do it by helping others, you can do it through your church, your support of His work is needed. We need to have laws that stop abortions, we need to shutter those gambling places.
If our president had faith in God, deep, deep faith, he would just make this speech... "Folks, tonight get on your knees to God (every knee shall bow). Confess your troubles and sins to God, and give to God. Let's pray for this nation to come back to God." And the speech can be short and to the point. When we bring God back into our lives our lives will go better. Not always perfect, that comes in Heaven, but it will get better. God will take care of us.

Thine is the Kingdom, let's not just say it, let's not just say the words, let's pray it and mean it and let's believe it and have faith in it. Will you pray this with me today and mean it?

Dear God, I am only one of this United States, but I know this country is Yours, it is part of Your Kingdom and starting today I am going to do all in my power to help You be proud of us again. This is Your Kingdom and I appreciate it, I am afraid that You are not going to keep letting this Nation go down the drain, I don't think Lord that You are going to keep on letting things like abortion keep going on. Lord, I for one want to get back to living fully for you. Thine is the Kingdom, that You, Lord Jesus, for this being part of Your Kingdom... Now help me and others act like it. In Jesus' name, I pray... Amen.

Go forth now sharing and giving of your blessings, talents, etc., and do it from the top... Love ya,
Pastor Dan.

February 17, 2010 The Journey 54

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome to the very first day of the rest of your life... Use it wisely and remember it could also be your last! It is Salvation Wednesday and a great day to be alive and following our Lord Jesus and spreading the good news about Jesus. Today at 2.00 PM Carry The Light will be sharing His Love at The Bridges (2100 Bent Creek Blvd Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and you are welcome. Thanks for your prayers for my wife and our son Matthew. Matthew might get discharged from the hospital today, as for Dolores she tells me she WILL be in church Sunday to play the piano, now that is talking and praying in faith... Again thanks for your prayers, please know I love you and care deeply about you.

Another note, if you know of those in our area that need some food help, please let us know. We have some need stuff in right now including some hams for Easter and some Elk burger.

Remember today to pray for salvation for those who you are not sure about. Each week I ask you to pray for the soul of our President and I don't know if he is saved or not, but we do keep praying. I will be taken to task for this one, but in my humble opinion I don't see how someone can support abortion, including that final term abortion, and be saved. But the judging belongs to Jesus, not me.

The Journey 54: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Today we again take a deep look at the Lord's prayer, so please let's just look up about five lines in the message and pray the prayer together. Ready... Amen.

Matthew 6:13 - "And lead us not into temptation." So what does this mean, do you think for one minute that Jesus, who taught us to pray this prayer, will really lead us into paths of temptation? And if you think that He will not lead us into those paths, then why would He want us praying this line? I am sure that this will have more meaning to us as we couple it up with the next line, but before we do that lets take a look at James 1:13.

James 1:13 - "When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone." (NIV)

Now while God does not tempt us, He does ask us to go into the World and tell the good news, and as we travel into the world, of course we are going to run into worldly things, and yes, we will need to be strong so we are not tempted. "And sometimes, my dear brothers and sisters, we let ourselves (ourselves which means once again you and me) go into places we are not strong enough to handle." Let me put it to you like this... Maybe you have had a drinking problem or a drug problem, and you got cleaned out and have even given yourself over to Jesus and are now born again, and of course you want to get working for Jesus for that is what we are commanded to do. So you are thinking, I know right where to head, I know where I used to hang out and there are a lot of people there I can talk to about Jesus. So you head back to that corner bar, belly up to the bar and start to preach. Then you have someone buy you a beer and maybe once or twice you can turn it down, but do you think for one minute you might be able to hang out there? I don't think you can do it. I have watched our dear son Matthew try and do this, and He was just not strong enough to get the job done. You must get away from that old crowd, but that does not mean you need to turn your back on them. You should take these folks to your new-found buddies in Christ and talk to them about those you are concerned about. Folks, I am not saying here that a person who might visit that corner bar for a burger and a drink once in a while is not born again or that someone who drinks a beer cannot be born again, I am not saying that. I am saying if you have a drinking or drug problem you are walking right back into evil. Now to my point, God will not lead you into temptation and if we go into a place we cannot handle working for the Lord, please do not blame God if you fail the mission. This is why you need to pray about the mission fields where God wants you to go, and to be sure and listen for His answer. When working for God, it is important to go where He wants you and not where you want to go. Now let's go back to the Lord's prayer for a minute...

Matthew 6:13 - "And Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:" (KJV)

Now let's again go to the book of James

James 1:13 - When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when, by his won evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. (KJV)

So you can see, my dear brothers and sisters, just why Jesus taught us to pray this wonderful prayer and pray it in faith and then follow it as Jesus carries it on through to God The Father who will do His will, as we have prayed in this prayer for us. And remember my quote and again you are welcome to use it... "If it was/is good enough for Jesus it should be good enough for us." Amen.

Dear Father, it is Salvation Wednesday for us on this line you have furnished us, and we pray for the lost today and that You will use us to bring in the lost to the feet of Jesus to be saved. Help us to remember that we cannot save a soul, that is the work of Jesus. Be with those on our prayer lists, healing cancer, kidneys, livers, lungs, hearts and broken bones and broken homes, etc. And Lord, I just want to close our prayers today by again praying the prayer Jesus taught us to pray...

Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Amen.

Yes, in Jesus' name I pray and give thanks for another day of life and pray that I can follow in the footsteps of my Lord Jesus who died for me... and Lord please bless our concert today... Amen.

Now go forth, my dear brothers and sisters, sharing your blessings and your love for Jesus, who really loves you... and yes, I love you also... Pastor Dan,

February 16, 2010 The Journey 53

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

Good Afternoon. my dear brothers and sisters. We missed the most of the snow, just got dusted a tad. Thanks for your prayers for Dolores and Matthew. Matthew's struggle is ongoing and we have handed him to the Lord for His care. I have done the same for Dolores, who was a very, very sick lady yesterday, but seems to be improving today. She is in room 850 at the Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill Pa. It is Schools Day on the line and our schools need so much prayer.

The Journey 53: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Today I want to take a good, a really good look at this line in the prayer... As we forgive our Debtors. Let's start by taking a short review of yesterday where we looked at the first part of Matthew 6:9, And forgive us our debts. Folks, now let's put them together...

Matthew 6:9 - And forgive us our debts (sins, trespasses) as we forgive our debtors (those who sin against us or trespass against us). So you want God to forgive all of your sins? Or just one of them, or two of them? Where are you at on this one?

Folks, have you ever had someone hurt you, maybe by taking a job you wanted because they were a, well a, ok, here it goes. Because there were a "brown nose." Come on, you have all heard that term, and let me tell you most bosses do not like those folks, but there are some who do. So you are lined up for that promotion and this person gets the job and you are really upset with the boss and the other person. I mean you have had this cross burning for a long time... GET RID OF IT. Forgive them and move on, that is if you want God to forgive you. Sorry, folks, that is what the Bible tells us and that is just what I am telling you. You are praying, Lord, forgive me just like I am forgiving that one who took my job. Folks, the truth is we have all in our life time offended others, not to mention God. We have hurt people along the way, maybe not in getting a job, but for other reasons. Maybe we have done a little gossip about them, maybe even made up a big fat lie.

Now, folks, I am not talking about when you were a child. I am talking lately. I mean I remember trying to blame things I did on my brother, and to this day I don't know why I did that. If I would have owned up to what I did, I would have been punished by my mamma or my daddy but I blamed it on my brother and he kicked my... well, anyway, it got kicked real good. Then he made me tell my parents the truth and then that part of my dear body got smacked good. Now, my brother and I had it all worked out long before he went to be with Jesus, but so many family members do not do that.

Brothers and sisters, before you let your head hit the pillow another time, try your best to work out any problems you have with others. And the same goes if you owe someone money. Folks, in life, we, or most of us, have bitten off more than we can chew up and sometimes we need to go to others and try and work things out. Let God in on it, for after all He does already know and again don't we want God to work with us on our problems or our sins?

Our Lord Jesus bled and died for us on a cross so that we might be free of sins, but it goes deeper than that. Some pastors might tell you to just say. "Forgive me, Lord, and I believe in you," and you will be saved. Hold on a minute, let us not make this price Jesus paid for our debts be so cheap. Unless you are on your dying bed and going to God for the first time, I think there is a whole lot more to it than just going to the altar in the church or coming for that call one time and then saying you are forgiven for life. Oh, I believe that once we are in His arms He will not let us go, I believe that, but first we must get into His arms and have Him in our hearts. And one of the big steps we are looking at today, and we have looked at repenting, but today we are looking at us forgiving others.

Two things on this... First, the easy one, if someone has sinned against you, forgive them, if they ask you to forgive them, by all means tell them it is a done thing. The hard one, if you have sinned against another, you need to make it right. Let me tell you on this one you need to be very careful that you do not hurt others as you ask them to forgive you. Sometimes a very, very quiet "I am sorry" in passing might be the best you should do. Do not bring up past wounds and throw salt into them as you try and straighten out the past. Pray and let God lead you on this one. But the bottom line is we are forgiven as we forgive and we are praying just that way. How do you think God would like it if you said in your prayers, "Lord, forgive me of my sins, and forgive me for punching Joe in the nose, but he earned it"? I think I have labored this enough... Let's go to God for help on it...

Dear Father in Heaven, I want to really walk with You and I want to do it daily. Forgive me of my debts, and Lord, point out to me, bring it to light where I need to work on forgiving others. Lord, help me repent of my sins and walk solid with You each day. Lord, I don't just want to walk near You, I want to walk in step with You. Open Your word more and more to us each day, Lord, help us to understand it better and better. Lord, show us the good news and where You want us to take it. Lord, thanks in advance for Healing those on our list today. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.

Now go forth sharing those blessings, and again, thanks for all your prayers for my family and for this line. Thanks for being a part of Carry The Light Ministries, who by the way will be singing tomorrow, Wednesday, February 17th at 2.00 PM at The Bridges (yes we are at home). We will be without our piano so we will have canned tracks to work from... Thanks again... I love all of you. Pastor Dan.

February 15, 2010 The Journey 52

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

Happy President's Day and Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. May I start today by telling all of you that I love Jesus, believe in Him and what He did for us, I believe in the written word that is located in my Bible and I believe all of it. I also want you to know that I love each and every one of you. So may I send God's blessing to you this day and say this to you as I get rolling this morning... God gave us another beautiful day, forget the weather, forget the red sky this morning and the snow that is coming later today, the day is beautiful because God gave it to us. Let's use it for Him today. Monday and President's Day, and the day we pray for our President and all of our other leaders and their families, also for our military, past and present and their families, for our police and firefighters, EMTs and all others who work hard to keep us safe and healthy, and please add those Plow Truck drivers and trash collectors and their families to your prayers. Also Allison needs our prayers really, really bad. Also pray for those on our prayer list. I will list those I remember at the end of the message, plus the update on Allison.

Stanley Bingham, who is 85, a veteran, and one of our flock at The Bridges, drove to the food store the other day. He cleaned the snow from his truck which sets high the best he could. While at the store a gentlemen came and told him that if the snow blew off on the highway he might get a fine and then cleaned off the truck for him, again Stanley could not reach the roof. After clearing the snow the man informed Stanley that he was a Pennsylvania State Trooper. He was off duty and helping. We have good police, and I hate hearing them put down. I wish I knew who the trooper was, I would love to just thank him again.

The Journey 52: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Today we take a look at the line "And forgive us our debts." First let's look at the different words that are in the Lord's prayer instead of "debts". Most often we hear "trespasses" or "sins". I think for talking about it we need to use the word sins for that is really what we are asking God to do for us. Forgive us our sins, Lord, and clean us up again. Would you believe I knew some people who thought, and they were serious about it, that when they prayed for God to forgive their debts that they should then not need to pay their bills. Now while I have prayed often in my life for God to help me find a way to pay my bills, and He has done that folks, but that is not what it means in the Lord's prayer. There are a few things we need to know about these debts, trespasses, and sins being forgiven. One of the things we will address tomorrow, but for today let us look at repenting from those sins. Now while our Father in Heaven loves us very, very much and even sent Jesus to die for our sins, He is not happy when we do those same sins over and over again. WE NEED TO REPENT. We need to turn and walk away from those sins, and we need to do our very, very best to live day to day without sinning. I think we should all pick a day and carry a little note pad and each time we do something that could be called a sin, we write it down. While some of us think of all the commandments and say we did not break any today or yesterday, they are not the only sins. Let us just look at a few that might be ones we do often. How about traffic concerns, speeding, running that light when you could have stopped, sneaking through that stop sign without the full stop? Yes, brothers and sisters, when we break man's laws we are sinning against God. Oh, here is a good one, how about those taxes, are you paying them in full or cheating on them just a tad? Please give to Caesar what is due him, but not more, so take all the legal deductions. And how about your thinking? Oh yes, when you are thinking those thoughts that are not good, you are sinning. Example, men looking at the rear side of the ladies as they walk by and thinking, well thinking things that men think. And ladies, you watch those rear sides also, I have seen some doing it. And sometimes we set others up for the sin by the way we dress. If we want to help stop the sins of the world, we must start right in our own home with the one we see each day looking back at us in the mirror.

Yes, please, Lord, forgive us of our debts, our trespasses, our sins, but most of all help us to repent and try our very, very best to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and live without sins. And please, Lord, take a look at our other prayers today including all we listed and honor our prayer requests according to your will for us... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Go forth now sharing those blessings and repenting of those sins... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Prayer warriors, we need you! Last night was very bad. Allison started having something like a night terror during the first chemo infusion. She would lay there with her eyes closed and just start screaming. I mean a blood curdling scream. It was horrible to watch. The nurses thought it was a different reaction to the same drug that made her hallucinate the night before. They gave her Benadryl IV and that made her more lethargic but did nothing to the screaming. She could literally be heard on the entire unit. Then they gave her Ativan IV because they thought it would relax her. All that did was make her very difficult to manage as they are still flooding her with IV fluids and she has to get to the bathroom every 2 hours. It often times took 3 of us to get her to the bathroom, screaming the entire time. These screams are a blood curdling, horrible scream . I felt so helpless. This lasted from 10:00PM until 5:30AM when she was finally able to verbalize that her back was hurting. They gave her narcotic pain medicine IV and she has been asleep ever since. I cannot understand the meaning of last night. I prayed for her, I read scripture over her, I cried with her, I held her. It was the worst night of my life as a parent. To think that she must have been in pain the whole time but was too out of it to verbalize. I have an email out to the doctor. I do not want her to have that same drug again tonight. I don't think either one of us could take a repeat night like that. Pray for good decisions on the part of the doctor and that Allison will rebound from this and be able to tolerate the third and last treatment. The nurses told me they have seen hallucinations and confusion with this drug but never what Allison experienced last night. At one point there were 5 nurses in Allison's room. It was the longest night of my life as a parent. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors, pray for peace for Allison and pray that tonight goes well. I am scared for her. I do not understand why she had to suffer this setback and why to this extreme. Pray for Allison and her doctors and her caregivers. I don't know what else to do. Just Pray!!!!!

February 13, 2010 The Journey 51

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

Good Saturday Morning to you, my dear brothers and sisters. I wanted to keep on with the Lord's Prayer so I can get it all finished by the end of next week. So I asked God to give me a message for today. Today I am going to ask you to take some serious time in prayer about abortion. As you know I am pro-life, 100% of the time. No back and forth, no what if it a rapist's child, no what ifs. Now I do think most of you knew that, but did you know that there were over 1,000,000 unborn babies murdered in the United States of America last year? Yes, count the zeros, it is ONE MILLION. That is over four times the number of people that were killed in Haiti a month ago in the earthquake. Brothers and sisters, each and every one of us was upset about what happened on 9/11/2001, and we should be, but so many people think it is ok to kill an unborn just because they are not wanted. Maybe a hair lip or maybe a twisted arm, or maybe a girl got in the motherly way from a man of a different color or nationality. Do you know that if you would take dog or cat that is expecting a litter to a vet the vet would not murder the animals, yet we kill babies like they are nothing. Some will say it is not murder, yet if a person shoots a lady who is expecting and both the mother and child die, two counts of murder, my friends, in our court system. I am going to be very, very bold here. I cannot see our Father in Heaven letting this go on much longer. Sometimes we wonder about those big storms that hit the United States and some people think, where is God now? Or listen to me here... If we were not killing off babies, would God let a cure be found or heal all those with cancer and heart problems? Our last president, George W. Bush, was pro-life, and he love Jesus and he told people that and people seem to hate him. Forget about republicans or democrats, we need some people who RESPECT THE LIFE OF OUR UNBORN CHILDREN. Pray for those unborn and pray for people to run for office who are pro-life for both Congress and the White House.

Dear Father in Heaven, please, please, please help us to put a stop to abortion, not just in the United States, but worldwide. Help us to respect life... In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Journey 51: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Today I want to bring out the part of the prayer where we ask for our food. Matthew 6:11 - Give us this day our daily bread. Brothers and sisters I wonder if God might be thinking HOW DARE they ask for food when they keep killing off babies, and killing people in street murders and killing people with cars as they drink and drive and also talk on phones and drive.. But aside from that, what if God just gave us our daily bread? Manna from Heaven and we had a diet of daily bread, fresh bread each day with extra coming on Saturday so we could gather it for Sunday. What if when you went to the store there were rows and rows of bread but no milk, no eggs, no butter, no ICE CREAM, no meat, meaning no ribs, or wings or steak or burgers. No fresh fruit, no pasta, nothing but bread... boring!!

God has promised if we believe He will supply all of our needs, and it goes far past just bread when it comes to eating, we have water and more to drink, we have clothes on our backs that are beautiful and He gave us what is needed to make them including the brain power of people to tailor them to the right fit. When you think about how often you might sit down and eat and not take time to even say a short prayer like Thanks for the Food. Dear Lord. When people eat they should give thanks to God and to others, like a prayer saying, Thank You God for the food, and for the farmers who grew it and as my good friend Oliver Ogden always prays, thanks and bless the hands that made it.

Folks, I must tell you, and don't think me wrong about this, we have a food pantry to help others and we serve God doing that. At our big food distribution day before Christmas this past year we had over 100 families, that is over 100 families receive food. A few said thanks when their cars were loaded, most did not and with the 35 families that we delivered food and toys to in the city of Harrisburg, there was not one, NOT ONE, thank you, that came for the workers where we were asked to go and that included their top administrator, some of the parents of the kids said thanks, but few, and some of the kids said thanks, but most after they were reminded to do just that. God must be disappointed in a lot of us, let me tell you that I know in my younger days He could not have been happy with me.

Brothers and sisters, please take time to thank God for the things He gives you including your food. And take time to share some of it. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 12, 2010 The Journey 50

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and what a beautiful morning to look out at the sun coming up in the East (it still does that after all these years of people saying there is no God!) This morning the sky is nice and pink in the East, not red, thank God. It is Friday and the day we set aside to pray for those working in the fields of Harvest for our good Lord. Do you know that taking your snow shovel or snow blower out and helping neighbors is a great way of being a witness for our Lord? And listen to this one. One of our neighbors flooded out on that last 3 inch rain. They had just purchased new furniture for in the basement. It was covered with water. Our neighbor living next door to them had them bring all the furniture up to their garage where it has been set to "air out". In themean time that neighbor has his "new" car outside sitting in all these snow storms and are being sure that the furniture is rotated, vented, and fans going over it so it dries without molding. Good Christian neighbors who also made them good soup on the day of the event. Folks, if you love God, truly love Him, then loving your neighbor comes very easy. Thanks, Art and Elaine, for all you do in the name of the Lord, you are truly good neighbors and we across the street love you dearly. Also keep praying for all those who have cancer, bad hearts, etc. Please pray for President Clinton (retired) who had emergency surgery yesterday to open some of his piping. And Happy Birthday President Lincoln.

The Journey 50: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Today we look at a very important part of the prayer that sometimes we have trouble understanding. "Thy will be done" - Do you know that when we pray we should always pray Thy will be done? Why? Well, first of all no one knows what we need, when we need it and how we need it better than our Father in Heaven. We cannot see even what will happen the rest of this day, while our Lord knows our life till the end. He knows if we are going to be true to Him or turn on Him. He knows if we would give Him the glory for answering a prayer or would not even mention it to our friends. Also, would you say this with me? If it is good enough for Jesus then it should be good enough for us! This happened the night before Jesus was put to death on the cross and it happened after the "Last Supper" and it happened on the Mount of Olives. Here is Jesus praying to His Father in Heaven. Listen up!!!

Luke 22:42 - "Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but Thine, be done." (KJV)

Brothers and sisters, I cannot add anything more to that so I will just repeat it. "If it is good enough for our Lord Jesus, then it should be good enough for us", meaning you and me. And you may quote me on that one. Yes, by all means, quote me on that one, here it is one more time. "If it is good enough for Jesus then it should be good enough for us." AMEN.

Dear Father in Heaven, we need to learn two real important things this morning from this lesson. First, it should always be Your will for us and not ours, although, Father, I respectfully twist on Your arm a lot of times... And Lord, it is very true in my heart, if it was good enough for Your Son Jesus then it should be good enough for us, who are the rest of your children. Thanks for doing Your will in our lives. May we indeed follow Your lead and not let Satan lead us and have his will over us. Help us this day with healing and protecting those in Your fields working to bring in the lost. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

Look for a message tomorrow as I want to move forward on this prayer... Now go forth sharing your blessings for our Lord, yes, that is part of His will for us, sharing our blessings He gave us. And know this... Jesus loves you very, very much, enough to die for you... and yes, I love you also. Pastor Dan.

February 11, 2010 The Journey 49

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. I will try today and get a few pictures of our back yard. We have received 40 plus inches of snow over the past days and it has been cold and windy. Gosh, I love this global warming!!

I really don't understand what is going on in Washington DC for they have record snow. I think if we put all of the politicians on the steps of the Capitol and let them give a speech the HOT AIR should melt the snow. Ah, I made that up. And with the Capitol closed and no one coming to work, who is going to sit around and do nothing? (I am so bad.) Anyway it is beautiful and it is family day on the line.. Brothers and sisters, with the kids out of school, and a lot of parents not able to get to work, it would be a good time for these families to get together and pray, and then go and play in the snow. Build a snowman, make snow angels, slide down a hill on a sled, or if you don't have a sled, get a big piece of cardboard. Then come in the house, make some hot chocolate and get out a board game, checkers, monopoly, or something. You could even have a "Tea Party". Pray and play this day for it is indeed family day on the line. Please also keep praying for Ronald and others with cancer and for Vicki who along with all her health problems her heat went down. Others have been days and days without electric. Brothers and sisters, all of you in the wake of the storm, relax and trust God for He is indeed in control. He knows what we need... Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, during this storm when many are without heat and water in their homes, please protect them, and Father, with so many home from school and their parents home from work, Lord bless them and let them enjoy each other with You in the lead. Father, bless this family day, and watch over Your children, and Lord, please let us all know how this snow will melt into the ground and form a great water table for the coming summer. Lord Your healing hand is needed on cancers and on bad hearts, and Lord, fingers that have been caught in snow blowers. Lord, please, please keep blessing this line. Thanks for trusting me to write it... In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.

The Journey 49: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Today we are going to take a look at this wonderful prayer again and look at this part - "Thy Kingdom come." Now as we over the years have prayed this prayer our Lord Jesus asks us to pray, have we really given thought about what we are praying? Think of this line, "Thy Kingdom Come". What are we asking God on this part? We are indeed praying for God's Kingdom to come, meaning we are praying for Jesus to come back to get us? So as we pray this, I must ask you, do you really mean this? Do you really want Jesus to return right now? Are you ready if He would return today? Brothers and sisters, I do, I have studied the prayer, and I am ready for the Lord to return. I think it would be wonderful. But in the meantime we have work to do, we have the "Good News" to tell others. Let's look at some scripture to support this in the prayer.

John 14:3 - "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." (KJV) This was/is Jesus speaking, my dear friends.

Revelation 22:12 - "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done." (KJV) - Words of Jesus

Brothers and sisters, I am writing on this wonderful prayer that Jesus gave us because for years and years and years I just said the words, I did not really think about what I was "praying" and if you do not think about what you are praying then you are just uttering words, and if you do this, surely God knows you are not praying in faith. Tomorrow we will dig into the prayer deeper and we will look at what this prayer means to me. I want you to really think about what it means to you. How many of you have just said the words in church? While some churches use the prayer each week, and I do that at The Bridges, others never use it. It might not need to be used each week, but surely this wonderful prayer should be used and surely we need to know what we are praying, and we need to be praying it in faith... Amen.

Now go forth, sharing your blessings, and sharing the love of Jesus with others, and please, tempers might get short when you are out in this weather. Calm down and enjoy it... love ya, Pastor Dan.

and may I say this to you... MERRY CHRISTMAS....(I just wanted to be first.)

February 10, 2010 The Journey 47

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

Good Belated Wednesday and welcome to Salvation Wednesday which is also late today, because it is Thursday. However, God is good and is letting me play catch up today. I have been out plowing snow for a lot of hours. Now I want to bring something out right now about me being late with Salvation Wednesday. I am able to be late writing a message even when the day came and went before I got it done. But trust me on this, you cannot be a day late, not even a second late in giving yourself to the Lord for He could call you at any time and once you are called your days ran out. So why not come to Christ right now? So let's just take a break right now and if you are saved, renew, and if you have never come to Christ I invite you to come to Him right now...

Dear Father in Heaven. Please forgive us of our sins, wash us clean and make us ready to come into Your kingdom... Wash us and make us like brand new all over again, and Lord, I want to tell you that I love You and want to sit at Your feet some day. Save me from Hell, Lord, by washing me in the blood of Jesus and putting me to work for You on earth till Jesus, You call me home... In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

The Journey 47: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name." As we study the Lord's prayer, or should I say as I talk about what this prayer means to me, today we are going to look at "Hallowed be Thy name." Let's break that down... "Hallowed", which means to devote to Holy, and to Reverence as Sacred. Hallowed could also mean praise as we team it up with "Our Father" as we address our Dear Father in Heaven. Now let's put this part together. "Hallowed be Thy Name". What am I talking about here? It means that God's name is hallowed, and should be revered. We are talking about Our Father here and we need to set His name apart from all others. And please remember this... Our Father is not to be cursed, made fun of or abused for He and He alone is our Holy Father. Our Holy Father lives in Heaven, and has sent His Son Jesus to save us and He has left the Holy Spirit with us for Salvation and comfort. Now our dear Heavenly Father has another home beside Heaven, and it is within our hearts... Did you invite Him in today? Are you going to ask Him to be with You in all you do today? Our Father, which art in Heaven... "Hallowed be Thy Name."

Go forth now and share the love of Jesus with others, and yes, share your other blessings also.
Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 9, 2010 The Journey 47

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be They name. Amen."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is a beautiful morning, with that red sky, as day breaks here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. God is so good, I spent yesterday shoveling out some of the "goat yard" and the "dog yard" so that our critters have some room to go and play. Then I shoveled out the big hauler and our trailer that we use for going singing and I say God is good for after all of this, I can still walk... Praise God. This morning we are at the Bridges for a sing-a-long and then I guess back to plowing snow. Another 18 inches is expected here overnight tonight and into tomorrow. Just think of all the water we will have in the water systems this summer. A good spring runoff will be in store. Thank You, Jesus. Today we pray for our schools and also for the family of Donna including her mother and her brothers and sisters. A few years back I had the privilege of meeting most of the members of this family as I purchased their late father's last bus. He was in the charter business in the Allentown area operating under the name of "Hello Hello Tours". Now his old bus is our North Pole Fleet as Santa's back up bus... What a great family.

The Journey 47: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be They name.

As you know, brothers and sisters, we are side tripping on the journey this week and taking a good look at the Prayer our Lord Jesus taught us to pray. But I have found that many people have not prayed the prayer but just said the prayer week after week in church and really did not think about what all the prayer includes. Yesterday we looked at those first two words. "Our Father". Today we move on with some more of the prayer. I am excited, so let's get moving...

"Who Art in Heaven" - As we look at this we can say that this is the home of God The Father and of course our Lord Jesus Christ, but they also have other homes... Let's look at this... First let's talk about Heaven just a bit. Is this not the place where we really want to live someday? I know that the place will be wonderful for all the sneak previews we find in the Bible, still we have all the lovely things here on earth and all of us want to get every day we can here on earth. So let me just pause right now and pray this little prayer with all of you...

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for another day here on earth and thanks for the promise of Heaven if we follow in the paths of Jesus and live with Him in our hearts. Praise You, Jesus... Thank You, Father. Now if you would please as I write this morning give us a vision of Heaven, plant it in our minds and let us see it in our eyes this day. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

John 14:2 - "In my Father's house there are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." (KJV)

Notice a few things please. First Jesus tells us that it is His Father's house, meaning all of Heaven, and there are many mansions there meaning if we get to Heaven one will be waiting for us. I can picture it, big family mansions with all of your family there together. Brothers and sisters, that is why it is so important to get our children in line with Jesus and have them bring Him in their hearts. Let's also look at this and see how Jesus is telling us He is our servant! What, Jesus is our servant? Yes, of course, now we don't think about it but He has been serving us all His life, should we not also be serving Him? He died for us, but long before that He was showing us how to live and now as we look at this prayer and some supporting scriptures, we see that Jesus tells us.

John 14:3 - "And if I go and prepare a place for you." (KJV) You see Jesus is going ahead of us to Heaven and He is getting our mansion ready for us. And then He tells us in that same verse. "I will come again and receive you unto myself." And then perhaps the very best part about Heaven is found right here in this same scripture where Jesus tells us this. "That where I am, there ye may be also." Brothers and sisters, Jesus wants us to come home and live with Him... Gosh, Dolores and I have six children, and we love all of them and love it when they stop by and when they call home. But do I want them all to move back in with us? Not here, my friends, but I DO want them to be with Jesus and Dolores and me someday in this mansion in Heaven.

Think of it, "Our Father, Who Art in Heaven" wants all of His children, not just Jesus, but all of us, to come home to Him and reside in Heaven with Him. Parents, is it not what we all want deep down? I often have said this, well this day dream, that I could have a big farm and then build six homes of different sizes on the farm so that all the kids could live on this property. But why should I need to "day dream" about it, for our Father in Heaven has already taken care of it for me.

I also just want to touch on one other thing today. We see so many ads on TV and hear them on the radio right now and even see them in the paper... Buy Gold, invest in Gold, this is valuable stuff that is going up and up in price... Let me tell you right now that our Bible tells us that our streets will be paved in Gold in Heaven, which tells me, that if we invest in our Lord Jesus, IF WE INVEST IN OUR LORD JESUS, we will have all that gold right on the street in front of our Heavenly home someday. We do not need to save it up here, we cannot take it along, but folks it will be waiting for us... As will our pets... Yes, folks, if God thinks this highly of us that He will have a Mansion for us and have the streets in gold, then I think He thinks enough of us to have our pets there for us. How many of us who really love our animals, would trade them for gold? Not me my friends, there is not enough money in the world to purchase Martin Martin from us or any of our other dogs. Tomorrow we will go forth with the Lord's Prayer... Now let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for getting Heaven ready for us and thanks for the promise that Jesus is coming back to get us. So, Lord, on this fine day here on earth, I want to thank You for it and pray I can give it back to You by living the way it pleases You. Lord, please, please bless our schools and watch over them, and Lord, bless please all those bus drivers who are on the road on these winter days. Keep our children safe. And Lord, for Donna and her family, please bless them. And for those with cancer, please heal them, and those needing jobs, please open doors for them. Thanks again, Lord, for this wonderful prayer... In Jesus' name... Amen.

Now go forth, sharing your blessings and getting yourself ready for Heaven, for we do not know the day or the hour when our Lord may return. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 8, 2010 The Journey 46

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be They name. Amen"

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and I look out my window which faces to the east I see this red sky. And I am overlooking our 26 inch snow now plowed to the side of the driveway. And our weather people are saying that we have a big snow storm coming Tuesday night into Wednesday. Today I will be working the shovel and digging out a couple of vehicles. Today is the day we pray for our leaders and our military and all those who work to keep us safe and sound. Please on that prayer list include those who drive those plow trucks. Take it from one who spent 24 hour days twice this past week plowing snow, it is not easy. Today as we pray, please use the prayer our Lord Jesus taught us to pray...

As we journey with Jesus I want to take some time out to really dig into the prayer our Lord Jesus taught us to pray. It covers about all we need to pray. Yes, I wrote about this before, but I have asked God to give it to me fresh again this week. Let me start by asking you this question and I want you to search out your heart on this question. When you use this wonderful prayer, are you praying it and really thinking about what you are praying or, OR are you just saying this prayer as a group and it really does not mean much to you? A bunch of years back I was giving the message in a very nice church, where I was the Lay Leader. As a rule the Lord's prayer was printed in the bulletin but I did not put it in that week. While leading the prayer I forgot the words and stopped, and so did those in front of me in the flock. If it were not for "Miss Kim", the minister of music at the church who baled me out and picked up on the fact I was lost on this, I would have been really lost. After this I talked to God about the prayer and realized that I was not praying the prayer I was just saying the words.

So I really dug into the prayer, studied what the words really mean, asked God to really open this prayer for me. About once a year I need to refresh myself on this and today, let's do it together. This should take all week and during this week we are going to be praying the LORD'S Prayer a lot. I pray till the end of the week, we all look at the prayer as we should. A prayer that Jesus gave us. Let's start out like this...

The Journey 46: Matthew 6:9 - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be They name. Amen" (KJV)

Dear Father, open this prayer for us to really understand. In Jesus name. Amen.

Now let's pray the Lord's prayer together...

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be They name. Amen."

Now let's break the prayer down and take a deep look at it...

"Our Father" - When I hear people talking about God and saying that God is female, and folks, there is nothing wrong with women, and I am not putting them down. But our Lord Jesus tells us that God is our Father, our Father in Heaven... He was/is The Father of our Lord Jesus, who was born to Mary here on earth, but Joseph had nothing to do with the planting of the seed in Mary, God did that through the power of the Holy Spirit. Thus the Virgin Mary, and Our Father in Heaven... Now I will tell you that "Our Father" can help us when we go to prayer and be like a mother to us. I lost my mother when I was young and my dad was wonderful, but God The Father got me through the death of my dear late mamma. "Our Father" should also be our very best friend and we should have no other over Him or even equal to Him in our lives. Now right up front as we study this prayer today I want to ask all of you... Do you want to see "Our Father" face to face someday? Of course we do, all of us. Now not only did Jesus teach us about this prayer but He taught us how to get to see "Our Father". For that let's us go to our Bible. (Where else would you go?)

John 14: 6 - Jesus saith unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: No man cometh unto the Father but by me." (KJV)

So folks, if we want to see "Our Father" face to face we first must know Jesus as our personal Savior. Folks, I am not talking about knowing who Jesus is, I am talking about knowing Him in your heart, not just your brain. So brothers and sisters, I think to finish out the first day of this prayer we should just stop now and clean our lives of sin and ask Jesus to come in or if you are Born Again already then to just renew in Jesus. So brothers and sisters, will you pray in faith with me right now?

Dear Father in Heaven, please, I ask that you forgive me of my sins, and wash me white as the snow you just sent us. The snow before it was plowed over. Clean me and then Jesus please come over me through the power of the Holy Spirit, put me on fire for You and Your word... Save me this day Jesus as I ask this in Your wonderful Name. Amen.

Now Go forth my dear brothers and sisters, knowing Jesus in your heart and sharing the blessings he has bestowed upon you and know this. Jesus really loves you, loves you enough that He died for You. And know this also... I love you... Pastor Dan.

February 5, 2010 The Journey 45

"This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in Heaven, hallowed by your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'"

Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is cloudy and overcast here at the Southern Location of the North Pole and the weather folks tell us that God is sending our way about a foot of snow. Our Ministry vehicle with the plow stands ready to go. Did you know that is one of the outreaches of Carry The Light Ministries? Yes, we plow for donations, and also to help our neighbors.

God is good. Today is Friday and the day we pray for those who are working the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. Now while I do not know the intent of the Missionaries that went to Haiti and picked up children and were caught taking them out of the country we need to be praying for them. I do pray they were doing things on the up and up because nothing makes our Lord look worse than people who say they are working for Jesus but are skirting the laws. Also pray for the children involved in this because by now they are torn, I am sure.

The Journey 45: Matthew 6:9 - "This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in Heaven, hallowed by your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'" (NIV)

Yes today I am going to talk just a little bit about prayer, and as you can see, I wrote out the Lord's prayer as it is in the New International Bible. I understand that the wording is different in a lot of churches. Next week, maybe even Monday, we are going to take a side trip and dig really deep into this wonderful prayer. There is one thing that is so very important that I want to bring that forth today, in fact I mentioned it last week when I talked about those equal treatments. Please listen to these words of Jesus:

Matthew 6:14 - "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 BUT if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, Jesus does not pull any punches here, He tells it like it is, like He always does, and I will bring more of this out on our side trip about the prayer.

For now I want to bring out a few other things about prayer. Have you ever been someplace and someone or a group of people were praying for someone? I have seen some of these things go on for a long time, and I am talking the same prayers over and over again. One of the hardest things for people to remember and a lot of we (you and me) who are pastors need to be reminded of this. Our Lord already knows our needs and we are to get to the point in our prayers. Listen to these words of Jesus from Matthew.

Matthew 6:7 - "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him." (NIV)

Years ago when I was studying to be a lay leader I was told when you preach or teach, then preach or teach, and when you pray, pray, but do not try and pray a sermon. If you notice a lot of times a pastor, and I am included in this, will be praying and at the same time they are sort of explaining why people need those prayers. It happens a lot in church where when praying we are trying at the same time to tell the flock why we are praying for things. Again, when we pray we are to get to the point.

I also want to point out a little two letter word. Let me put it this way, as a child we had to learn what the meaning of "no" means, and folks, then we taught that same meaning to our children, and it keeps getting passed down. No, you cannot go to the movies, no, you cannot stay out all night, no, you cannot eat the whole gallon of ice cream at one time. And on it goes. No, you cannot have that toy... But when we pray we need to remember that God also from time to time tells us "NO".

Our problem, is in most part when we do take the time to pray, we don't always afford the same amount of time or more if needed to listen for God's answer. If you have never heard God speak to you after you have prayed, then I say indeed you are not listening. God hears each and every prayer that we put forth to Him, and He will answer each and every prayer also, but not always right away and not always the way we want them answered. Yes, brothers and sisters, understand that no is indeed an answer that God even gives to us, after all, we are His children. If you notice here of late I am trying to shorten up the requests for prayer by getting to the point. Like when we pray for Ronald, I just post Ronald, cancer, and we ask God to heal him.

While I might get into some trouble with some for saying this, I do believe that sometimes when we get into those long, long prayers, we do it to help the emotions of those we are praying for, again God already knows are need. But how would one feel if they were laying in a hospital bed and their pastor came in, walked over to the bed and prayed like this... Father in Heaven, forgive (name) of his/her sins and heal their body. In Jesus' name, Amen. As a pastor I must tell you that when I am bedside with a very ill person it is more important to me to ask them about their relationship with Jesus before praying for what ails them. I do hope you understand that.

In the morning before Dolores and I do our Bible study we pray this short prayer... Dear Father, please open Your word to us. Amen. Talk to our Lord often and be sincere about it... Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, I need to learn more and more to get to the point, so please, Lord, be with all those working the fields of Harvest for you, including those in Haiti, and Lord, heal the cancer in the bodies of Ronald, Doris and others with cancer. Lord, protect Your people from the storms that are coming in, and Lord, protect us all from the drunk drivers on the road after the Super Bowl on Sunday. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings, and folks, have a really good weekend, and we will get together again on Monday if God grants us those days. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 4, 2010 The Journey 44

"But I tell you, Do not swear at all."

Good Thursday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful, beautiful cloudless morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Snow is to be on the way. Today is family day on the line, so let's pray for families today and please pray for the families of the military brothers and sisters, and remember to pray for my family as I pray for yours. And yes, pray please for the family in the White House in Washington D.C. Also add to our ongoing prayers Doris Whitcomb who has colon cancer and is starting chemo.

The Journey 44: Matthew 5:34 - "But I tell you, Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God's throne; 35 or by the earth for it is His footstool." (NIV)

Folks, before I get into the swearing in, in our courts, let me just address this swearing... I hate it when people use the name of God in a cursing way, I just hate it. Even if it is taking place in an eating place and it has not been directed at me, I just hate it. Folks, if any of you are those who when you get upset start cursing, STOP IT. Whatever caused you to get so upset was not God's fault, so why are you cursing Him or using His name to curse? When my dear late mamma was teaching me what not to say and to speak the truth, it seems that I had to "eat some soap" before I learned. And my dear mamma did not want to hear those substitute curse words either. I mean if I say darn in a nasty way, I had a soap lunch. I had a dear sweet mamma who raised me right, and she even made the soap. It was lye soap, and she used that one when I lied. Is that why they called It Lye Soap?

And you know those who do not believe in God at all, why do they curse His name and blame Him for things if they don't believe in Him? Go figure that one. But let's now look at what this quote from Jesus tells us. "Do not swear at all." So if we go into court and they "swear" us in, how do we handle it? "Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God." Folks, we need to learn to just give our word and mean it, and folks that goes to paying off our bills we make. When we sign our name on the bottom line of that credit card statement, when we purchase something, we are indeed giving our word that we will pay it.

Now for a very bold statement from me... If your word cannot be trusted, then neither can you. Did I hear an amen on that one? Let me say it again, If your word cannot be trusted, then neither can you. If you promise to do something, then do it, and do you know sometimes we make promises that we can't keep because we get in over our heads? Sometimes we need to say NO... Yes, No is an answer. In fact tomorrow when we talk about talking to God we will look at this.

Folks, I am one who has trouble saying no, I really do. I have some dear, dear friends who also have that same trouble. People ask you do to something and you say, ok, and then you find out you are in over your head. You gave someone your word, now what do you do? You go back to that person and tell them you are in over your head and work out some different terms. It might now be a money thing, it might be just helping people with something.

But folks, we should never say I will do something so help me God. It is ok to say you are going to do something and then ask God to help you, in fact you should go to Him first before you make that promise and talk it out with God. So let's go back to court. What do you do when they ask you to swear? Folks, just when asked say "I promise" and then do what is right. Listen, Jesus tells us how to do just that...

Matthew 5:37 - "Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'no', anything beyond this comes from evil". (NIV)

Now let me put it in Lehman's language. (I know you to spell it the other way.) Here it is from me. "Say what you mean and mean what you say." When you say "I promise" do your very, very best to get it done... Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, we want to learn never to swear, and we want our word to mean something and we never want to ruin that fact. So, Lord, help us to come to You before we promise or commit to things and then if and when we put our word, or our name to something, help us to let our yes be yes and our no be no and to say what we mean and mean what we say. Lord, we need You to get that done. And Lord, I pray for families today, families all over the world starting with the family of God, yes Your family, Lord, and then all the others. Lord, bless the families who use this line and if You can use me or Carry The Light Ministries to help others on the line, direct them to us. Please be with all those with cancer like Ronald and now for Doris and we ask for nothing less than these folks being cleared from this cancer. Lord, I give You honor and glory for giving us, me, another day, and may we, me, give it back to You by living to please You. In the name of our Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and serve God and remembering when you give your word, keep it... and please share those blessings that God gave to You. Remember, they just might be blessings on loan to you and if you do not share and live for God your blessings might not be so many. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 3, 2010 The Journey 43

"So when you give to the needy do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men."

Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday... Go to God in prayer and ask Him to use you in the fields of harvest to seek out the lost. Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, I must tell you this day I am so blessed. Listen to this... Last night I was at a meeting and when I came out it was snowing and the roads were slick. I had driven one of my old six-door limos to this meeting at the museum as a gang of us go out to supper before the meeting and we can all ride in the one car. Anyway, on the way home I had everything running, heat in the front and rear, wipers, radio, lights, and traffic was moving very slowly, so slow that the alternator was not putting out at full power. The car kept running out on the interstate where the trucks were speeding past. At the end of the exit ramp my old Caddy went dead. Help me, Lord, I said this is not a good place to have to stand in the storm. I got out of the car and about two or three vehicles back was a really big tow truck. It was too big for my car, but he called his garage and within a half hour a smaller one was there. In the meantime, he parked behind my car and had me up in his big rig to keep warm. So we got home with no further problems till the one bringing the car home got stuck in my driveway, then I pulled him out with my 4X4. God really loves me, and you too, of course. Am I blessed or what? I am blessed...

Prayers today for the unsaved and for the saved to work for Jesus in bringing in the lost. I went out plowing snow very early this morning and just got back so I have not checked on other prayer requests. Please forgive me...

The Journey 43: Matthew 6:1 - "Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men to be seen by them. If you do you will have no reward from your Father in Heaven. 2 "So when you give to the needy do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men." (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, I must tell you that I struggle with this one sometimes. Let me explain this... As you know we have a food pantry and we do not seek out recognition for doing this, yet there are times the news people are called in to handle what the kids in a school has done for us and we are there... and I must say whenever the pantry makes the news more and more people support the mission. While we in Carry The Light Ministries ALWAYS want to give all the glory to God, we still need to ask and get others involved with the ministry. I hope you understand where I am coming from. So I ask now for your prayers that we in Carry The Light Ministries never step over the line and always give God the glory.

I think there is that same fine line when those singing the gospel go out singing knowing full well if you are going to keep moving on with the ministry there is some entertaining that will need done and also fund raising that will need done and to get people to concerts, etc. you must do some advertising. So again pray for all of us in the Ministries and even in churches that we do not cross the very fine line here and that all of us work for God and not man... Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, help us each day to be sure that all glory and honor for all work we in the gospel and ministries field always goes to You and that You will guide us in all that we do. Help us this day to seek out the lost and bring them to you. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth sharing those blessings that God has given unto you... love ya, Pastor Dan.

Groundhog Day 2010 The Journey 42

"If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also."

Good Morning, my brothers, sisters and Phil... Phil, Pennsylvania's groundhog, tells us this morning we will have six more weeks of winter. Now let me tell you what the Lord tells us about the weather.

Matthew 16:2 - He (Jesus) replied, "When evening comes, you say, 'it will be fair weather, for the sky is red,' 3 and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.'" (NIV)

The sailors of old used that as you might have heard it this way. "Red skies at night, sailors delight, red skies in the morning, sailors take warning."

Now this is my take on the weather. Take what God gives us for it is a blessing just to be alive for another bonus day on this fine earth. Don't worry about the weather, but prepare for it. A few years ago we say Katrina hit New Orleans and watched as people needed pulled from the roof tops. Those people had many warnings the storm is coming, a big one. Most all could have walked out to higher grounds before the storm hit. But, folks, people have been trained, or should I say brainwashed, to wait for the government to help them, and the rest is history. Please, folks, do not wait upon the government, wait upon the Lord and the Lord only.

Today is Tuesday and the day we pray for our schools and all who have anything to do with them. Also, ongoing prayers for Ron, Matt, the Saylor family, Vicki, Pastor Tony and Ruby and for jobs, Mark, Joan and LeaAnne and others.

The Journey 42: Matthew 5:38 - "You have heard that it was said, 'eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' 39 but I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." (NIV)

Some of these things that our Good Lord wants us to do are hard, really hard. My parents did teach me to walk away from a fight, don't worry if people called you chicken, just walk away. They told me about turning the other cheek, but folks, in all reality, if you are going to walk away from the fight after someone belts you in the cheek, you might as well walk away before they hit the other one... or so I thought. You see, folks, our Lord God will protect us and He will at some time take care of those who strike out on us. And please, brothers and sisters, do not think of what God is telling us here as just turning the other cheek when confronted by one who wants to hit you to hurt you. More often these words of God come into play in our lives by verbal things. So let me talk about this verbal side of this. If someone is saying things about you that hurt, do not go and pick a fight over it, but turn the other cheek for them and when you get a chance to talk to them one on one, tell them you forgave them for the things they were saying.

Now let us put this on the other side completely. Don't be someone who strikes a persons cheek in the first place, do not go to people and be the aggressor, be it by striking people or talking about them.

If we truly walk in step with our Lord Jesus, if we try our very best to live for Him, we will from time to time hear those cheap shots taken at us, and we will come under attack from time to time, and it might not be as we walk alone, but as a group. You say you don't believe that, then take a look back at 9/11/2001, were we hit because we are a Christian Nation? And there is more of these things coming. Folks, hold your head high and walk with the Lord, there is no better way to get through each day than to walk with Jesus... AMEN.

Dear Father in heaven, we need your help on this one, when someone strikes us either in words or by the use of a fist, we want to fight back, Lord help us to stay calm and walk with You. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Now go forth, sharing those blessings and walking with Jesus. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

February 1, 2010 The Journey 41

"But I tell you to love your enemies."

Good Morning, brothers and sisters, it is Monday and believe it or not, it is February. Today being Monday is the day we set aside on this line to pray for our leaders, our military, our police, firefighters, EMT's and all who work hard to keep us safe and secure and also healthy. That is a big prayer list. Also today please pray for Robin Hood (real name) who had emergency surgery for a blocked intestine. One other new request today is for Chuck Small for pneumonia. Ongoing requests today for Ronald, cancer, Pastor Tony, for strength and vision, Pastor Larry and his wife Luella and all those in Florida who will be coming North, for safe passage. For Kathleen Sansoni, cancer. For jobs for Mark, Joan, Tom and LeaAnne.

The Journey 41: Matthew 5:43 - "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven." (NIV)

This may well be one of the hardest things that our Lord Jesus has told us to do. Did you notice that Jesus really does not ask us to love our enemies, but makes it an order. You see those words in verse 44 - "I tell you:" Jesus is not saying, Please if you can, love those enemies, or will you try and love your enemies, no, Jesus tells us, in fact we could call it an order. Let me ask you, did you ever have someone make you so mad that you wanted to "punch them in the nose"? Maybe it was someone who treated you mean, or someone who took advantage of you, or maybe it was an X spouse. Whom ever it might have been, and you were/are really upset with them, you are to love them and pray for them. Oh here is one, you get behind in a bill, or there has been a mistake in your account and it goes to a collector and day after day a person calls you and each day you get mad. That collector knows in your voice they are getting to you. Send in the money... I don't owe it you say. If you knew where that collector was calling from you might go to their office and punch them in the nose or give them a fat lip. But wait, you are a Christian now and you love God... So you try and explain, I paid that bill, and I want you to know that I love you and that I am going to pray for you. Can I pray for you now? I am not sending money because I don't owe it, but I am going to pray for you. Gosh that is hard to do.

I know a man whose daughter was raped and murdered. The one who did it was caught, went to trial and was given life in prison and while in prison this murderer came to Jesus, gave his life to our Lord, and then called the father of the girl he raped and murdered. He wanted to see this man face to face and tell him he was sorry. The man hated this murderer, he had murdered his daughter. But this man also knew/knows Jesus and knew what he had to do. He went to the prison and talked to this man and forgave him. This, folks, is a true story. Folks, there is no place in the Bible that tells you that you need to love the sin that your enemy did against you, but you must love them and pray for them and forgive them if you want to get into heaven. Folks, I also know there is no place in the Bible where they list exceptions to this law of Jesus.

All this week I want you to put your feet in those shoes of Jesus for we are going to be walking with Him and hear a lot of things we might just not want to hear. Today, loving and praying for your enemies is just a start, but a hard start. Let's all today get with the program, THE JESUS PROGRAM.

Dear Father in Heaven. We need to get serious about these things, sometimes we make it sound easy to get into heaven. Just believe in Jesus and be saved, but Jesus tells us so much more, and Lord, we want to do these things Jesus wants us to do. Help us with them. First, Lord, point out to us those we might have buried out of our mind and help us to love them and pray for them, and Lord, pray for our own self to get this done without delay. Lord, I pray today for President Obama, who, Lord, I confess I really did not vote for or like because of his stand on abortion, but Lord, I am praying today for his safety and that of his family. I am also praying today that if he does not know you, he will come to learn who you are. I pray for the safety of all on our prayer list who work to keep us safe. Also, Lord, I ask healing for those with cancer, those with sight problems and those who need the touch because of a stroke. Lord, I also pray for Vicki and ask your touch on her very many problems. In the name of Jesus, I ask all these things... Amen.

Now go forth praying for those you do not like and trying your best to make amends for whatever made them your enemy. Also, please remember to share those blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
