Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I really appreciate Your love for me. Thanks for dying for me and saving me from my sinful self. Lord, please be with all those who follow this line and send Your blessings on them as I know of those who are hurting, waiting for surgeries and needing Your touch in their daily life just as we do, Lord. Please help me with the message and please protect the computers from those who try and shut them down. Thanks, dear Lord, for trusting me to work for You, and thanks for restoring my health and putting me back to the keyboard. In Jesus' Name, I give praise and lift up my prayers. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters: The subject that God has given me for this day might go on for a few days. It would be hard to write all about love in just a day. Let me get started. First I do want to tell you that I really appreciate all of your prayers and notes and letters and phone calls of support for us and Carry The Light Ministries.
Tuesday: August 25, 2015: Love (Day One)
1 Peter 1:8 - Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (NIV)
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (NIV)
John 3:17 - "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." (NIV)
Dear brothers and sisters: Do you ever or have you ever had trouble loving someone that you have never seen but only been told about or read about in your Bibles? (Speaking of Bibles, if you do NOT have a Bible, just let me know and we will have one for you.) Anyway, one Sunday years and years ago I remember being in Sunday School at the 29th Street United Brethren Church when our Sunday School teacher asked us if we loved anyone more than we loved Jesus. I raised my hand and told him I loved my mamma more. He said that was a different kind of love and went on talking about Jesus. Well, brothers and sisters, tome it was not a different kind of love, although with my mamma I could wrap my arms around her and she would hold me and even patch up those boo-boos of life with her love and while I know now Jesus can do the same thing, it was hard for me to see that back then. When I stood at the cemetery back in 1959 at the funeral service for my mamma I felt I just lost the best friend I ever had in the world.
Good and wonderful parents make mistakes in life but their love for their children go on and on or should. I know that my mamma loved me dearly but I also know that she loved Jesus a lot more than she loved me. You see, Jesus headed our home, then pop and then mamma. My prayer for all today is that they would come to know and love Jesus even more than their own children.
Our Father in Heaven loved and still loves all the children of the world, all of us, even those who have turned against Him. He sent His one and Only Son, Jesus, to die for all of us. And without question, Jesus did that for each and every one of us. You and me, brothers and sisters, all of us. One of the things wrong in our old world today is that there is so much condemning of things and so much political correctness that we are to follow. If we all would just come to Jesus and remember this verse from the Bible, John 3:17 ... And I am going to rewrite it.
John 3:17 - "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." (NIV)
You all can see the way the world is today yet Jesus was not sent here to condemn the world, He was sent to save it. I think we all need to look to our Lord Jesus and take His lead. We need to stop condemning things and just try our best to get things turned around. Someday if we truly love Jesus and take Him on as our Savior and let Him into our hearts and our lives and we live our best for Him, we will be with Him and see Him face to face. Until that time we need to do our very, very best to spread His love to others, to try and be kind and helpful to others and walk with Jesus. Sometimes it is not easy, sometimes it might even be hard to do or be like a hard pill to swallow, yet you and I know that we do need to walk in His light and keep on Carrying the Light of the World to all so they might hear this truth, this very truthful statement.
Jesus loves you. Yes, regardless of what you have done He will forgive you and HE WILL LOVE YOU. Do you love Him today? I do, I really do. Please go forth and share the love of Jesus with everyone and wear a big Jesus smile on your face.
Love ya. Pastor Dan
