Wednesday 1/1/14 The Great Escape 2

Dear Father in Heaven.  I love You.  Please, on this our day we call Salvation Wednesday, anoint us to work for You, helping to bring in the Harvest.  Please, Lord, be with Buck Rambo and heal him from his stroke.  Lord, be also with Mae and help her as she watches over Buck.  Thank You, Lord, for this great New Year's Day.  Lord, please be with my little friend "Luke" as he has dental surgery on Thursday, and be with Jason and Nicole and help them with him and the money to pay the costs.  Please bless this line and all who use it.  Now, dear Lord, if you will plant a message on me and then help me to dispatch it, I surely would appreciate it.  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, please pray for gospel singer and songwriter "Buck" Rambo as he has had a stroke.  Pray please for the lost on this our very first Salvation Wednesday of a brand new year.  Pray for "Luke" who is having dental surgery and pray for Jason and Nicole for peace of mind and funds to pay their bills.  For those who were here on food distribution day, Luke was the only little one to come and be with his mother, who was a prayer warrior on our driveway.  Pray, warriors, pray for this wonderful family.  (Maybe we could put some feet on those prayers.)

Tomorrow is Dolores' birthday, and I made her a promise that I will not tell anyone she is 79, so I won't!  Pray for her, please.

Salvation Wednesday on this line, and the day we seek out the lost and help them find our Lord Jesus so that they can become saved through a personal relationship with Jesus.  Let me get going on the message.

Salvation Wednesday, January 1, 2014, The Great Escape (Day Two).

Matthew 2:17 - Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled.  18 "A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted because they are no more."  (NIV)

Jeremiah 31:15 - "A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted because they are no more."  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, above I have typed out two scriptures from my New International Version (NIV) of the Bible.  I just wanted to point out how the prophets were given the "gift" from God to be able to tell what would happen in the future.  Here we see that the prophet Jeremiah predicted what was going to happen long before the event took place.  So today I want to ask you, do we still have prophets today?  Please do not say yes about prophets for God and be thinking of these as fortune tellers.  Indeed, in our gifts from God there is the gift of prophecy, and yes, some people have been given that gift.  Fortune telling is from Satan!!

Acts 2:17 - In the last days, God says, "I will pour out my Spirit on all people.  Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.  18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy."  (NIV)

So yes, the gift of being a prophet is still going on, and it comes from God through the power of the Holy Spirit.  The Bible also tells us that "prophecy is for believers."  In other words, those with great faith may be given the gift, and please note I said "may be" given the gift.  All of us have been given gifts from God, all of us.  In the future we will be talking again about those great gifts.  But please note that all these gifts come from God.

Our Bible tells us that there was great mourning, weeping and mourning for the children were gone.  I know to this day when someone loses a child to death or accident, it must be the worst thing that can happen to parents.  It is hard enough when we just lose a loved one like a parent or brother or sisters, but losing a child must be the worst.  I would think that a day would not pass that the parents would not be thinking of that son or daughter who passed before their time.  By me saying before their time, meaning parents most often go ahead of their children, the normal way.  We must have faith that God is in control and when we get to heaven, questions will be answered.  THAT IS WHY we need to be sure our children, grandchildren, and even our great-grandchildren get the Word and are saved.

Salvation Wednesday would be a great day for you to get the Word out to your family.  Have them read, and if they are little ones, read to them, John 3:16, John 14:6, and Romans 10:9/10.  Then ask them about being "Born Again," telling them about it and then praying with them.  Parents, I do believe it is the single most important job you have, and that is working for Jesus as ordered.  Okay, more on the Great Escape on Thursday.  (Yes, I know this is going out on Thursday morning, I did not get it finished last evening.)  I must do better on my time.  Please pray for me for that.

Now go forth and share your blessings with others, and enjoy not just the first day or the first week of the year, but working with God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit, really enjoy your 2014.  Love Ya.  And please pass that love on.

Pastor Dan
