Monday 12/31/12 New Self

Dear Father in Heaven, You have taken us through another year, and Father, I confess that more than once I have messed up.  Sorry!!  Lord, as we end this year, may we look back over it and give You glory for all that You have done for us.  Thanks, Father, for that.  As we start a new year, Father, may we start it with You and walk each day with You.  In the name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Good evening, my dear brothers and sisters.  What a great evening to just say goodbye to the year 2012 and say THANK YOU to our Lord Jesus, and also thank you to all of you who have supported the ministries of Carry The Light.  We just got safely back home after singing a concert at The Bridges.  We had a great time.  All honor and glory to God.  Thanks to all of you who have lifted us in prayer, supported our missions with food donations and also with your hard-earned dollars.  We also appreciate all those who have come forth to help us pack food, load food, etc.  Thanks for all those who follow this line.  Let me leave you with this very short message.

Colossians 3:9 - Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its creator.  (NIV)

As we leave this year it is a good time to take a good look back over the year and ask yourself a couple of questions.  One might be, did you please others the way you lived this past year?  Did you please God the way you lived?  Did you please yourself?  As we watch the New Year come in, town after town is going to"drop something."  New York City is dropping that big ball.  Dillsburg, PA, is going to drop a pickle.  Lebanon, PA, will be dropping a big baloney (a lot of that has been dropped in Washington, DC).  Mechanicsburg, PA, is dropping a wrench.  I could go on and on.

May I make a suggestion to all of you?  Let us "drop to our knees" in prayer to our Lord Jesus and ask Him to renew us.  So many people will finish out one year and start the next by drinking until they are drunk.  Some will start the new year with resolutions of eating less or working out at the gym.

Let us on this line just do our very best to walk with Jesus each day.  Let us take a minute together right now and ask Jesus to forgive us and to renew our love for Him.  Will you do that with me right now?  Pray with me, please.

Dear Father in Heaven ... I come to You through Your Son Jesus just asking that You wash me clean of sins and start me anew.  I really do want to walk this coming year and beyond with You until the day You call me home or You send Jesus back to get us all out of here.  I love You, Lord, and in Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.

Share those blessings, folks.  HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Love ya, Pastor Dan.
