Dear Father in Heaven, We give You all honor and glory and praise this day for the new life in the Crockett family. We give thanks for this perfect baby boy and pray he grows up strong in You. Thanks for all the food we have been bringing in, and also for the toys. Lord, please bless us again with help on Saturday. Dear Heavenly Father, thanks for another day on this earth, and we give You all honor and glory for all things. Please keep Your hands upon those on our prayer list and watch over them, healing cancers, heart problems, and surgeries. We pray that Beth will heal from her surgery of delivery. Lord, please watch over our leaders in Washington and all the State houses. Lord, I pray that our president will humble to You in all things, and we pray first for His soul and that of his family. I then pray he will bring all things to You before they go to the public. I pray he will seek answers from You. Lord, I pray today for our veterans and all of our current military, also our state and local police and sheriffs. Lord, please keep all these folks safe. I pray also for our firefighters and those who work the medical fields on the road and in the air. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Good early morning blessings, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a very busy time here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. The news people never did show up on Wednesday evening. We will try for another station for Friday evening. Please forgive me as I try and catch up with my daily writing. I am tired, if I was a car I would be running low on fuel. And while the car can get gas, I lost my Twinkies, hey, but like a car, I can still "get gas" and like a car, we both have exhaust. I better let it at that and get to the message ...
The Story (Day 7)
Luke 1:57 - When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. 58 Her neighbors and relations heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared her joy. 59 On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah. 60 But his mother spoke up and said, "No! He is to be called John." 61 They said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who has that name." 62 Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child. 63 "He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone's astonishment he wrote, "His name is John." 64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue was loosed, and he began to speak, praising God. (NIV)
This story is really neat as the forerunner for Jesus is being born. You will recall that when the Angel of the Lord first came to Zechariah, Zechariah questioned the angel about how this could happen since he was old and so was his wife. For questioning the angel and not just walking in faith at first, the angel took away the voice of Zechariah and for the whole time Elizabeth was with child, old Zech could not speak. When the son was born and he was named John, the Lord cleared the voice of Zechariah and he could once again speak. "How about that?" I can hear some of you ladies now, gosh, I would have another child, if I could my husband's mouth shut for nine months.
I think one of the neatest things about the story of the birth of John, who became John The Baptist to us, was how Elizabeth's relations and their neighbors all rejoiced in this child that was sent from God and given to Elizabeth even at her old age. If something like this happened today, what would the neighbors and relations do? I mean, think about it, you find out a couple in your neighborhood nearing a hundred would come and tell you that they were going to have a child, how would we handle that? Would it go like this, you gather at the back fence, or at the mailbox and say things like this ... "You know that old lady up the street, did you know she is having a baby?" A joke would be made for sure and that would be the neighbors. The relations would come on even stronger. Jokes like if Zechariah could even do what he had to do to make the baby. Please, folks, before you ever question, remember the Lord is still in charge and in control. We need to take a lesson from that each day. Some days are harder than others, but with God in control, all will be well according to His plans and His will for all of us. As we thank God today for John, for this little forerunner for Jesus, we thank God again for a new family member of one of our ministry team, in the grandchild of Grant and Wanda. Again I must tell you that Jesus is still the same, and we just need to pray and roll out what God wants for us and walk with God as He takes us through each and every day. Let's pray.
Dear Father in Heaven, as we give You all honor and glory for this day, we pray that Your will will be done in all things, we pray that babies in the wombs of mothers will be permitted to live for this little life could grow up to be another preacher or singer or even president of the United States. Thy will be done today and forever. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share those blessings, and remember we could use a few able folks on Saturday to pack out nearly 500 bags of food. I will have a pot of hot dogs on for those of you who love hot dogs as I do. Go now for the Lord, going in peace and may the God of Peace go with you ...
Love ya, Pastor Dan.
