Mon/Tues Feb. 6/7 2012 It's The Law!

Good Day, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Tuesday, and I think I will have this out on Tuesday, but must type for short periods of time as my hand that had surgery is really in bad shape yet. I can do about six to ten lines at a time and then must rest my hand for hours. I do go to the doctors on Tuesday afternoon to have my hand looked at. Also I need to get some prayer requests out... Please pray for Allie (cancer), Ronald (cancer),  Donna (heart), Shellie (kidneys), Valerie (loss of her sister), Vicki (many health issues).  Also for our nation's leaders, our veterans, current military, police, firefighters, and all those who keep us healthy and safe.

Also, folks, please, please pray for the Catholic Church and what our government is trying to force on them. Yes, our government, among many other things, is trying to make them provide the morning after pill, THE MURDER THE BABY PILL, to their employees. The other day I watched as our president made a speech telling how he loved Jesus and went to Him daily. He confessed to being a Christian. To me, and I don't know how many of you agree with this, and I know Jesus is the judge, but how can one be a Christian and BELIEVE IN ABORTION? Also if you support research, etc., for breast cancer, please watch where you send your dollars, a lot of it goes to Planned Parenthood, who murders, now listen to me, they murder OVER 300,000 unborn babies a year nationwide. Yes, that is almost a third of a million lives. This is what happens if you support the nation things. May I suggest that if you want to support breast cancer funding, check where you have your testing done, ladies, and maybe you could give money there for people to get the testing done.

It’s The Law! Matthew 5:17 - "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets: I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." (NIV)

Let's take a look at the scriptures today and look for examples of what Jesus is talking about.

In verse 17 Jesus is telling us that He did not come to do away with any of the Laws, and folks, we are talking here the laws from the Bible, not our laws of today, although we will find that some of them are the same and I will point them out to you as we hit those. Jesus also tells us that He has come to fulfill the laws, and as He talks about them we will see how we should be going to carry out His work.

verse 18 states "I tell you the truth." Let me just take those five words and say this is one example we should follow all the time. I have never before looked at those words as one of the best examples He set for us. "I tell you the truth." The example, of course, is that we should always tell the truth. I can remember back when I was but a child when the dead sea was still sick and my Mamma would ask me if I was lying about something and I would say to her, "I never lie," and she would say, as she put soap in my mouth, "Danny, that is the biggest one you ever told." As a child, before I started to school, I should have learned the constitution, then I could have said, "I plead the fifth." Just kidding, folks, but the example is to tell the truth and Jesus uses that term often when talking to others.

In Verse 19 Jesus is telling us what happens if we break of the least of the commandments AND teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. First look at the AND and know that it ties together breaking the commandments and also teaching others to break them. Even at that, it does not say that heaven could not be gained, for Jesus forgives, but those who break the commandments AND teach others to break them would be in big trouble in heaven. I confess that I am happy to see the AND in here as yes, I have broken commandments I am sorry to say. Jesus also tells us that if we practice and teach the commandments we will be in good standing in heaven. So of course what we really want to do is not break the laws and commands of Jesus and also teach them to others.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the good doctor report on my hand today, and please keep your hand upon it. Lord, please look over our prayer requests and honor them according to your will. Thanks for the message today, Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

Since I started this this morning I was at the doctor about my hand surgery. It is doing good, no infection, etc., but the stitches must be in another week, and my hand is now, as always, in the hands of God for healing. It hurts worse now than before the surgery but I knew this might happen, only God can knit the nerves back together. Keep praying and keep on sharing those blessings. Love ya,  Pastor Dan.
