Tuesday January 10, 2012 Best Dressed!

John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful early morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Today we reach out in prayer to our Father in Heaven, through our Lord Jesus for healing for those who have cancer, heart problems, failed kidneys, bad livers and all other major health issues including depression and just plain major pain. There are so many people who have more than one of the health issues listed, yet each day they push forward, keeping their eyes on Our Lord. Have faith, my dear brothers and sisters, and just keep keeping on for Jesus. God is so good to us, so very, very good.

Please pray today for Vicki, first Vicki from The Bridges who has been HEALED from a rare disease, all honor and glory to God. Also pray for Vicki from Dayton, Ohio, who has more than her share of health issues, in fact she is flooded with them, she carries a very full plate.

Please pray also for Ruby, Dolores, Glenn and Marie. Pray, please, for me this day as I go to see the surgeon about surgery on my right hand.

Once again we also want to give all honor and glory to God for His heading up Carry The Light Ministries. We keep asking for your prayer support as we want to keep our missions for the Lord moving forward. Years and years ago, when I purchased my Exxon Service Station business and was sent to Exxon Dealer School, I was taught there is only two ways to go in business, move forward or lose out, you just cannot stand still. I think the same can be said about our walk with our Lord Jesus and working for Him, we keep growing and moving forward, or we stall out and backslide. How about it, let's move forward in and with and for our Lord Jesus. Not just with Carry The Light Ministries, but in your personal walk with Him.

Best Dressed!! Matthew 3:4 - John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. 5 People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. 6 Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. (NIV)

So here we find John, out in the wild and preaching and teaching about the coming of our Lord Jesus. Let's just take a minute and review what we learned yesterday about John and what he was preaching. You could sum it up in one word, "Repentance," and brothers and sisters, we all need to be reminded of that each day, each and every day of our lives. Or at least I do, for it seems each day, I make mistakes, or sin against our Lord. Those who drive on our highways and roads of today, might be like me, and I find myself in my car sort of yelling out, "why don't you hang up and drive", and while no one outside my car can hear me, except our Lord Jesus, He knows my thinking, and brothers and sisters, He knows all of what we are thinking. So folks, each day when we rise we should have a heart to heart with Jesus, asking Him to forgive us of our sins, and then repenting from them, turning and walking away from them.

So John preached in his camel haired coat, with his belt around his waist and would tell people to Prepare the way of the Lord, "REPENT for the kingdom of Heaven is near." Tomorrow, on what we call Salvation Wednesday, we will talk about this. If a man coming in from the wild, a man who lives off the land, so to speak, a man without formal education, can preach and teach about the coming of our Lord Jesus, then by gosh, there is just no reason at all why we cannot also preach, and teach for our Lord Jesus. So as we talk about a wild man, with a camel coat, and eating locust and wild honey can work for God, there is just no good excuse why we don't work for Him also. So today and into the night please pray about this. If Jesus were to walk up to you today and say, "pick up your nets and follow me", what would you do? Would you go to work for Him? I tell our flock at the Bridges, even at the age of those living there, and most are the age of Dolores and myself, or a tad older, that they are not too old to work for Jesus. Dolores and I have been very blessed by our Lord Jesus to pastor the Bridges and blessed with a ministry team that helps us. Folks, we never get too old to work for Jesus and each day when we rise we should think of how we are going to work for Him that day. At the Bridges we tell folks, one thing they can do is invite new folks moving in to church, and also someone from each table take the lead in praying for meals. We have had many people tell us that it is very hard to give up their home, their things, even, in some cases their pets, to move into a senior community, and they also tell us it is very hard to give up their church.

Dear Father in Heaven, You have blessed us with another day of life, and Lord, we want to show our appreciation for it, by not just living it to please You, and we want to do that, but we want to do more, we want to help get the word out as John did, we want to tell others to repent and work for God. So help us this day to pick up our nets and follow You each day for the rest of our life. And may we take the lead from You and John and tell others to repent, and may we, Lord, look in the mirror and have it start with us. Please answer our prayer requests now according to Your will... in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Now go forth, sharing your blessings, repenting and working for Jesus. Have a blessed day and know that I love ya. Pastor Dan.
