Mon/Tues 6/3-4/13 More Promises

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thanks for a great weekend, thanks for watching over us, and thanks for all the promises that You have made to us.  Lord, forgive me please of my sins, and help me to write this message today.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pastor Dan's Safety  Tip:  Be sure your windows (windshield most of all) are clean, inside and out.  This will help cut glare when driving into bright sunlight or headlights.  After cleaning the windshield inside and out and you still have the glare, CLEAN YOUR GLASSES!

Reminder ... Saturday, July 6th, Carry The Light Ministries annual picnic.  Bass/Baritone singer Tim Beitzel will be with us again this year and start singing at 11:00 AM.  RSVP by return email, name and how many are coming with you.  Also, we are looking for a few helpers, a few to come early and help Grant and Wanda work and me watch, a couple at noon to help serve and a few to stay and help clean up (and eat leftovers).

Good evening, my dear brothers and sisters.  Where did Monday and Tuesday go?  I am sorry I did not get to a message on Monday, so I have made a two-day event out of it.  The truth is, I was worn out tired on Monday evening and just had to lay my head down and rest.  So I went to bed and Martin, Martha, Marvin, Mike and Angel jumped up on the bed with me.  Keeping score, that would be four dogs and one cat.  Marvin, my cat, told the dogs I had "human breath."  I really forget what all we did on Monday except in the evening when we went to The Bridges for a Strawberry Fest and to hear Special Friends and Elvis.  Then home and to bed.

Tuesday started out with me at my doctor's.  6:30 AM appointment.  My doctor told me I am in great health, except for the remains of the old motorcycle accident which has caused a lot of parts to be worn out.  Praise God for that report.  I got twisted a tad (my doc is a DO) and then we prayed together and discussed a food drive.  GOD IS GOOD.  I arrived back  home, told Dolores all the great news, hooked the trailer to the truck, and then Grant, Wanda and I set out to purchase food for the food pantry.  At the food store we purchased lots of canned things, spending very nearly $1,500.00, and praise God we had that in our account.  Before leaving we overheard a man talking about having cancer.  So on the porch of the store, we joined hands and prayed for this man to be healed.

Then off to New Hope Ministries food bank where we donated to them a lot of tuna we just purchased and a bunch of peanut butter.  In return they blessed us with a large amount of cereal.  PRAISE GOD.  Then back home to unload the trailer.  Grant and Wanda started to offload the trailer when two ladies stopped in for food.  We were not expecting them, and after praying for them, one, Virginia, needed prayers for her health.  Please pray for her.  We then put together food bags for them.  When that was finished, I started to make lunch, Dolores was working the books, and Grant and Wanda were stocking shelves.  Lunch was simple and great, and soon after all the work was done for the Lord.  When we were taking out the trash, our neighbors were out on their lawn, and we had a chat near the edge of the road where we prayed for "Elaine" who just broke her foot.  PRAISE GOD FOR GREAT NEIGHBORS WHO LOVE JESUS.  After which I came in, gathered up the dogs and cat and took a tad of a nap.  Now it is message time.  Why did I tell you all of this?  Just to let you know that we can have a great, great day while serving the Lord and He will open doors for you to pray with folks and share blessings with each other.  So as I wrap this up, it blends perfectly with just a short message about a promise or two.

Monday/Tuesday 6/3-4/2013 More Promises from God.

Acts 3:25 - And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers.  He said to Abraham, "Through your offspring ALL peoples on earth will be blessed."  (NIV)

Here we find Peter speaking to the onlookers telling them and again this is true for us today, that a covenant was made that people will be blessed and we are the heirs of this covenant.  It tells us that All Peoples will be blessed.  That would be ALL PEOPLES, and that means you and me.  Ain't that sweet, we have blessings at our feet.  Our days are just so blessed and I pray for all of you that each day, each and every day you will look at those blessings, instead of drawing on your hurts and boo-boos, turn to God and the blessings.  Sing a tad, hum a little, play some bells if you wish, you could even put them together and be a singing "hum dinger."  Come on, cheer up, we are blessed.  We really are!!

Ephesians 6:2 - Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment WITH A PROMISE.  "That it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."  (NIV)

Now we know that this is the very first commandment that came with a promise from God.  Long life and it will go well with us.  Meaning we will be blessed and get extra years for just honoring mother and dad.  Now if they have passed you can still honor them by just showing how good they raised you.  In other words, honor them by the way you live and live for Jesus.  Okay, time to go.

Now go and share those blessings, and be joyful, look up and not down.  Love the Lord and not evil.  Kick Satan out of your life.  I love ya (pass it on).

Friday 5/31/13 Promises 4

Dear Father in Heaven.  Thanks for all You do for all of us, thanks for all the promises that You will never break.  Lord, please be with all of those that we have on our prayer list and please heal them.  Lord, please bless me again with another message, and then guide it to the readers.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Pastor Dan's Safety Tip:  Right turn on red can only be made at intersections not restricted by a sign saying "no turn on red."  Then please NOTE, you must stop and check traffic before you turn right on red.  Failure to do that might cause you to be stopped by one of our fine police officers who will give you a neat little ticket which will cost you about $100.00.  Do you have that to spend to save ten seconds?  Stop on Red.  It's the law.

Good evening, brothers and sisters.  Please let me try and bring you up to date on our prayer list.  Patsy and Burt Emig and their family (all health issues).  Barbara, Barbara, and Barbara (all health issues).  Dick (breathing).  Donna (family issues).  Matthew (our son, keep praying, please).  Curtis (anger).  A veteran (depression).  Wounded Warriors (your daily prayers, please).  President Obama (salvation and safety).  A dear friend (depression).  Our food pantry (low on food). Vicki (many health issues).  God's workers (protection for all who work for Jesus).  For the masses (that people learn to love and not hate).

Folks, here is a suggestion.  If you receive prayer requests for many people, just lay your hand on that computer screen and pray for all of them at once.  God knows their needs and stands ready to hear your prayer.  Let me get to the message, Promises.

Friday 5/31/13, Promises, Day 4.

Exodus 19:5 - Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.  (NKJ)

Matthew 7:21 - "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."  (NIV)

Let's take a look at the Old Testament first.  His promise to us is that we will be a special treasure to Him.  However, HOWEVER, we must indeed obey His voice and keep His covenant.

Did you ever deal with a small child who might be a real brat?  My mamma dealt with one, me!  Now let me see, did my mother give me some ice cream and say now you be good?  Or did she say, if you are good and you listen tome, then I will buy you some ice cream?  If we went someplace and I was a brat, my backside sort of, well, "took a hit."  But if I listened all the time, and I do not mean for three minutes or until she counted to ten, I had to be good and listen to her, and back then might had to be a week.  Then the reward.  Now it seems bad behavior is being rewarded.  Not so with the Lord, as we can see in that scripture.  If we obey His voice and keep His commandments, then we shall be a special treasure, and brothers and sisters, God will not break His promise to us.  But we must earn that promise.

Now the New Testament:  Again we see about the same thing.  The promise is we will enter the kingdom of heaven, but after we do the Will of His Father who is in Heaven.  Yes, brothers and sisters, we have the greatest promises ever made to man, because they come from God, but not once does He promise that everyone will gain the kingdom of heaven without doing what is stated by God and recorded in our Bibles.

STOP RIGHT NOW AND PRAY.  OKLAHOMA CITY IS BEING HIT WITH TWISTERS RIGHT NOW.  PRAY, WARRIORS, PRAY.  8:00 PM EDST.

Okay, let me get this out.  Please, folks, be ready for our Lord, the next twister might take you.  We do not know when or how we will get called.  But we all will be called.  BE READY.  Share your blessings and come to Jesus.  Love ya.  Pass it on.

Thursday 5/30/13 Promises 3

Dear Father in Heaven:  Praise You, Lord, for the great news o Dolores' eyes, and Dear Lord, thank You for opening my eyes to something today.  Lord, be with that warrior and help him, please.  Lord, I renew our prayers for Patsy and Burt Emig and also their family, Lord.  Be with the others on this list, and Lord, help us to learn how to respect others and their feelings.  Now, Lord, please help me with the message of today.  IN Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Pastor Dan's Safety Tip:  Schools will soon be out for the summer, watch for children where you do not normally see them.  Drive slow in neighborhoods, children often run into the streets.  Remember when you see a ball roll into the street, a child is next, because they are chasing the ball.

Dear brothers and sisters.  Please, if you do not read anything else, PLEASE READ THIS.  Today, Dolores needed to go back for her day-after follow-up on her eye surgery, and all glory and honor to Jesus, for she can see perfectly without any glasses.  Both distant and near.  While we were at Dr. Daley's office, my eyes were opened wide.  It happened like this.  If you have been to Dr. Daley's office, you know it is not a good place to get in.  You must drive down a hill to his office, where you can park two cars in the handicapped parking spots.  Other than that you need to walk down the hill or have someone drive you down and then go back up and park on top. God was good and when we arrived the spot next to the door was open and Dolores went in for her check-up.  Because I have been having a lot of trouble walking, I stayed in the car.  I was not there long when I looked in my mirror and this is what I saw.  A young man walking down the hill, and it was all he could do to walk ... Out in front of him, an older man with a military style haircut walked backward, holding his hands out to catch this young man if he stumbled.  I am starting to cry again.  This young man, A WOUNDED WARRIOR, was missing his left arm and both legs and was walking on those new style artificial legs.  He had a cane in his right hand to help him walk.  He would stumble and his catcher was there but did not baby him at all.  He was there to catch him if he started down.  This warrior looked to be about 20, maybe 21.  I cried ... I should have gone in and thanked him for his service, but I was just beside myself.  This man gave two legs and an arm and who knows what else so I can still preach.

Lord, forgive me when I talk about hurting, keep me going the best I can and cause me to not complain.  Thanks, Lord, and thanks for that warrior.  In Jesus' name.

I am so sick and tired of people who in past wars spit on our warriors when they came home.  And I am sick and tired of hearing our military persons called names.  Just recently I heard our Marines referred to as JAR HEADS.  This young man just might have been a MARINE.  I am tired of the names.  My wife is an Air Force Veteran and I am proud of that.  I have family who served in the Navy and know others who served in the Navy.  I also know some who served in the Army, the Marines, the Coast Guard, and even knew some Merchant Marines and our guard units.  I am also tired of our Police Officers being referred as "pigs."  I don't even like the term "cop."  I m tired of the donut jokes about police.  I am tired of the slang about our firefighters.  They are not "smoke eaters."  Over the years when I have heard these terms, I stood silent.  NO MORE.  When someone refers to Jesus using His name as a curse word, I tell them about it.  Jesus died on that tree for me, and they cursed at Him on the cross.  He gave His life for us and at least we can stand up for Him.  But after what I saw with my own two eyes, and it was in person, not on TV.  It was in person.  As I wrote the other day, when it comes to our veterans, "some gave all, and all gave some."  This "WARRIOR", this young man, gave up his legs and his arm so an old pastor like me can stand in public and talk about Jesus.  DON'T ANYONE DARE CALL THEM NAMES IN FRONT OF ME.  I will call them down.  And if I get "punched out" or worse for it, it is okay, for Jesus gave His life, and this warrior gave his legs and an arm.  And brothers and sisters, you can for sure pass that one on.  DOES ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS WAY?

Jeremiah 32:20 - Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm.  Nothing is too hard for You.  (NIV)

Luke 21:33 - "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words remain true."  (NIV)

Nothing is too hard for our Lord, nothing and I know it, because it tells me that in my Bible.  And also as we know from our Bibles, our Lord Jesus never changes, and His Words will remain true.

Brothers and sisters, I pray that I will hold my PROMISES today, made before you folks and God.  Now please share your blessings.  I love ya.  Pass it on.
