Good Salvation Friday afternoon, my dear brothers and sisters. It is snowing here at the Southern location of the North Pole. It is very pretty. If you must be on the roads, remember to SLOW DOWN, HANG UP AND DRIVE. Please pray for those folks up north of us as this storm is expected to be a biggie. You can get a big snow storm in New York City, but not a big soda!! All kidding aside, some of the folks up there are still in tents from Sandy. Pray, warriors, pray. Salvation Friday and the day we pray for salvation for the unsaved and pray that God will use all of us who are saved to reach out to others. Let me change that last part, pray that we will answer God's call to reach out to the unsaved.
Also gone missing, 14 year-old Timothy from Perry County, PA. Please pray.
I want to try and wrap up the messages on heroes today. Let me get to it.
Heroes 2/8/13 Day Five:
Back in the days of my early childhood, when I was but a child, I remember most one of my uncles and their families. My mamma and pop both came from big families, so I had lots of aunts and uncles. One family, however, sticks out in my mind as I would go to their farm for a few days in the summer. I do confess that I did not like the "outhouse" or the "wash tub" that was used for a bath. Also, even back then, I would get homesick and my parents would come and pick me up early. My dear Uncle Les and Aunt Romaine watched over me well, and I had a good time with my cousins John and Martha. My Aunt Romaine is my only remaining Aunt and all my Uncles have gone to be with the Lord. As I have told you before, I was raised by a mother and father who loved the Lord, as did all of the aunts and uncles I remember. Now let me get to a few of my heroes of today.
These five men have a lot to do with my standing with the Lord today. I am not going into a lot of detail about them, but do know that they love the Lord and they helped me a lot when I came fully back to our Lord Jesus. Doug Boyer, Dave Kyllonen, Neil Enloe, Duane Nicholson, and Pastor Larry Hale. Doug Boyer, I met years ago when I first met Timothy Beitzel, they sang with the Brotherhood, now known as Brotherhood Native American Outreach. Doug is a funeral director from New Bloomfield, PA.
Dave Kyllonen, Neil Enloe, and Duane Nicholson were singers for many, many years with The Couriers and now sing under the name of Dave, Duane, and Neil. I do not know a time when these men did not follow God. Time and time again thee men, either by themselves or as a group have set standards for me to look up to. By the way, Timothy Beitzel was also a singer with the Couriers, in fact the last group that sang under the name of The Couriers. My dear wife Dolores worked for the Couriers for twelve years.
Pastor Larry Hale and his wife Luella I met years ago when they would sing at gospel concerts in Harrisburg. They are dear friends of mine. Pastor Larry is presently pastor at the Glenvale Church of God, Marysville, PA.
All of these Christian men, all of them, receive the daily emails, and when I have a question I can email any one of them for help and they respond. Years ago, Neil wrote a song called "The Statue of Liberty." It is about the "Cross" being my Statue of Liberty. If you can get to hear this song, please do so. In the near future you will be seeing our food pantry trailer on the road, with crosses set on the front and the Statue of Liberty set at a distance behind. This is one song over the years that has stuck in my mind, along with so many of the old hymns. By the way, I am honoring Jesus with the crosses, not Neil. All glory and honor always goes to God.
Okay, now to close out with my hero from the Bible.
He was born to die, He was born in a barn, and died on a cross. He was raised from the dead. He rose to the Heavens.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (NIV)
John 5:16 - So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews persecuted Him. 17 Jesus said: "My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too, am working." (NIV)
John 14:6 - Jesus answered: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (NIV)
Revelation 22:13 - "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done." (NIV)
My Hero, Hero written with that large "H" is Jesus Christ, My Hero from the Bible is Jesus Christ. He is above all others, all others who I have named this week from the Bible and above all my earthly heroes and helpers. You can see just a few of the scriptures that I have picked out and I could have written out many, many more.
I made this statement ... "He was born to die, He was born in a barn, and died on a cross. He was raised from the dead. He rose to the Heavens." These things are all done, each one of them, and recorded in the Bible. However, a promise has been made, and that promise is this. He is coming back. I want to say that again and make it louder. HE IS COMING BACK. The proof is in the scripture that I will repeat right now.

My question as I close up on heroes with my Jesus, my Hero from the Bible, is this ... If He comes back tonight, will you make the cut at the gate? If He returns tonight, will you be one that goes or one that remains? What if He just calls you home by yourself, are you ready?
Dear Father in Heaven, forgive us of our sins, forgive me of my sins,, and Lord, write my name in the Lamb's Book of Life. And Lord, please, please, bring Timothy home. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Thursday 2/7/13 Heroes 4

Praise Report, Praise Report ... Pastor/Brother Dan ... My daughter Alexis, who is the mother of my granddaughter Nora, you may remember she married a fine gentleman back in April of 2011. Eric is in the process of adopting Nora ... AND ... just this past Tuesday February 5th, they welcomed into the world a new little one of their own. His name is Ace Nova Tangert. He's a "butterball" at 8 pounds 15 ounces, 20 3/4" long. All are doing fine. She will be coming home Friday. Rick.
Please add this mother and daughter to your daily prayers ...

Brothers and sisters, I must tell you this short story. On Monday a person called for food who had just been here. Seems they moved and left their food behind for the next person moving into the place they vacated. So we furnished more food, even though they were just in. Again, that was this past Monday, and I really had to think about handing out another load of food. Then we decided to just give out food to help her stock the new place. On Tuesday a local school called us, they had a soup drive for the super bowl and we got the call to go and get over 450 cans of soup, and these were mostly large cans ... GOD IS GOOD. Let me get to the message.
Heroes 2/7/13 Day Four:
As in the past three days I want to start with some of my heroes from back when I was a child (when the Dead Sea was still sick). Just one today, he was Leonard Lee Lehman, and he was my big brother. Yes, "was", because he has gone to be with the Lord. Leonard was the strongest person I knew in my life. He started lifting weights when he was about 13, and there was no juice being added back then, he just got into pumping iron. And he was strong, and yes, he beat me up a few times, but still, I loved my big brother. Sadly, he also started smoking when he was about 14 and never stopped, and yes, that took his life about ten years ago. I must relate this, when he found out he had cancer, he called me and said, "Danny, I am going to die." I laughed and said, we all are. He said, no, I have cancer and have been told I have six months to live, and I don't think I am going to heaven. Ten minutes later I was up over the mountain and sitting with my big brother. We talked about the Lord and shared scriptures from our mamma's Bible. We prayed together a prayer to be forgiven. Then I said, Leonard, you are living with this nice lady, but you are not married. I talked to him about that daily sin, told him he needed to do something about that. Three days later I married them, my first wedding. Two months later, I buried him, my first funeral. I am sure he is ini heaven. Thanks for letting me share that with you.
My Hero from the Bible today comes with this scripture:
Luke 1:26 - In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you. 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31 You will be with child and are to give Him the name Jesus. -------------------- 38 "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." The the angel left her. (NIV)
Yes, my hero from the Bible today is the virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus. Now you should really go back and read Luke 1:26 through 1:38, for I have skipped some. Okay, several reasons why she is one of my real heroes from the Bible. First, this young girl who was pledged to marry Joseph was still a virgin. Next, even though she was afraid when old Gabe showed up, she did not pick up her feet and run. She stood and listened to this angel of The Lord. Next was her statement made to Gabriel and well worth repeating. "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then of course we know she along with Joseph raised Jesus up through those tender years.
Now a few of my heroes of today. The children, teachers, and staff at the Silver Spring Elementary School in the Cumberland Valley School District. Now just why in the world would I make them my heroes of today? Okay, let's start with the children who brought in soup, those over 450 cans of that soup using it to vote for "their team" in the Super Bowl. But as I told the teacher who was helping to load this soup into our little food pantry truck, the real winners of the Super Bowl were going to be those who receive the food. But the heroes are those kids who are learning at a young age to share their blessings (even if parents sent it with them). Now the teachers and staff are heroes also for teaching these children to bring in the soup an teaching them the soup wil e shared with the needy. Now the neat part is even if a staff member or teacher might not be a "believer" they were still working for God. Don't you just love it? Well, there you have it for today, and again, my heroes of today, all of them of course fall under our Lord Jesus, for no one, I said no one gets up in that number one position with me anymore. Yes, back years ago when I was drifting away, there were some,but I am back, and Jesus is my "Main Man."
Tomorrow, good Lord willing, I will be back with one last day of Heroes, maybe one more from my past, a few from the present, and yes, from the Bible also. You just do not want to miss this one.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for that beautiful little "Ace" and for taking care of his family. Keep blessing that family and please watch over this child as he grows. I pray today that he might grow up and become a worker for You, dear Lord. Thanks again, Lord. Please look after Andy's wife and daughter as they struggle with pain. Please, Lord, Leila has suffered a long time, it would be appreciated if You heal her. We will be sure You get the glory. Be with the family of Anna Troutman who is now with You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for putting out that welcome mat for all those who know and love You, and Lord, help us to get the word out to those who do not. Thanks again for the message of today. Also, Lord, if it is in Your will, may the big storm miss those who were hit hard by Sandy last fall. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.

Wednesday 2/6/13 Heroes 3
Good Afternoon, dear brothers and sisters. Before I go on, I want to share this praise report with you. I received this from Susie who I know from the museum. She at one time took care of all those who volunteered at the Antique Car Museum in Hershey, PA. Now the praise report in her words:
"Praise report: After a simple gastro prep 1/21, I went into a rare low sodium shock 1/22. My God-send of a husband Larry called 911 and the first responders got me to the Harrisburg Hospital ER. More wonderful folks in the ICU brought me back from stroke, brain damage, or worse, and I was released in good health 1/24. Our neighbors helped Larry and the neighbor's wife, a Catholic school principal, had the whole school praying. My dear sister rallied church members, friends, and relatives to pray for me. I would have called you but was not too aware of things!! So praise The Lord!! Life is good!!!!!"
Thank You, Jesus, for sparing our dear, dear friend. Susie is also one of our regular readers and a prayer warrior on this line ... GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS ...
Brothers and sisters, yesterday I asked you two questions. One was the name of Roy Rogers' horse, and I got a bunch of correct answers - "Trigger". Some named his dog, Bullet, and there was a debate about the name of Dale's horse. Was it Buttercup, or Butter Milk? I am not sure. But one person answered both questions correctly. It was ministry partner Pamela Bower who said the horse was Trigger and one of my heroes from today who might look a tad like me, and I left the hint, I might lose my head over this ... the answer, "John The Baptist".
Today I am going to be sending the message out differently. I am going to try and send it without names appearing on the heading. Please, if you will, let me know if you got the message and how did it arrive, name showing or not. I am trying out work this out to prevent email addresses from being snatched by the email snatcher (whoever that might be). Let me get going now on my message.
Heroes 2/6/13 Day 3.
Back in the days of my childhood (when the streets were still dirt and I had teeth) I sort of was forced into being a Brooklyn Dodger baseball fan. Back then my buddies liked the New York Yankees and since I was the runt, I was told to cheer on the Dodgers. It is funny after all these years I can remember some of those ball players. Roy Campanelli, Carl Frilo, Pee Wee Reese, Jackie Robinson, and center fielder the "Duke" Snider, the Duke of Flatbush. Anyway, we purchased all the bubble gum and collected and traded baseball cards. It would be nice if I still had my rookie Jackie Robinson card, but they are all gone. But those were some of my heroes from my past, and times have changed, the roads got paved, and I purchased some store-bought teeth. (The dentist years ago was not my hero, I ran from him.) Today I want to look at a few of my heroes of today and it might surprise you that they do not all come from the Bible. Maybe the term hero I should reserve for the ones from the Bible and use the term deep respect for the others I might name. I do want you all to remember that none of my heroes of today are on top with The Big Three, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost.
Let me go tot he Bible and talk about the one who might look most like me ...
Matthew 3:1 - In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the desert of Judea and saying, "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near." (NIV)
Matthew 3:4 - John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. (NIV)
People have said that I have that wild look sort of like John The Baptist might have looked, but folks, there is no truth that I eat locusts and wild honey. I have been known to wear a big leather belt around my waist, though (Santa's belt).
Yes, John The Baptist is one of my heroes of today because he was out working for the Lord spreading the word that we are to be spreading today and saying these words ... "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near." We need to be out speaking for the Lord and even baptizing people in the name of "The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit (Ghost)."
Mark 1:14 - After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 15 "The time has come," He said, "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" 16 As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 17 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." 18 At once they left their nets and followed Him. (NIV)
On the heroes list for me today are brothers Simon and Andrew. The reason is that without question they stopped what they were doing and went to work for our Lord Jesus. I also look at this scripture and sort of compare it to how I was called. Brothers and sisters, when God calls you to work for Him, put down those nets and get to work for God. It does not mean you must give up a good job if you have one, for we can all work for God regardless of what we do, or even how old we are. As I tell those in my flock at the Bridges, you are not too old to tell others the good news or tell them about church or hand them an "Our Daily Bread." "Work for the night is coming, then men work no more."
Okay, one more for today and this might surprise some, but this hero of mine today is a dear friend. He is someone I have looked up to for help. He is someone who was called to God very, very early in life. I met him about 30 years ago. The term hero is used because I know how he works for God and how that never stops regardless of what in life he has done. And while I name this gentleman today, tomorrow I will name a couple more. People who I set my eyes on even as I was coming to Christ. This man sets examples in all he does and one other neat thing, he is a lot younger than me. Most folks look up to someone older, that will come tomorrow. Today I just want to thank this man who has set a standard that makes him just one of my heroes of today, all of which work or Jesus, my main hero. This man even has a Bible name. Thanks, Timothy Beitzel, for following Jesus ... Love you, brother.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks so much for pointing out people from the Bible to be my heroes of today and also people who work hard for You, who give others reasons to follow You in what they do. "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near." We need to be out speaking for the Lord and even baptizing people in the name of "The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit (Ghost)."
Mark 1:14 - After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 15 "The time has come," He said, "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" 16 As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 17 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." 18 At once they left their nets and followed Him. (NIV)
On the heroes list for me today are brothers Simon and Andrew. The reason is that without question they stopped what they were doing and went to work for our Lord Jesus. I also look at this scripture and sort of compare it to how I was called. Brothers and sisters, when God calls you to work for Him, put down those nets and get to work for God. It does not mean you must give up a good job if you have one, for we can all work for God regardless of what we do, or even how old we are. As I tell those in my flock at the Bridges, you are not too old to tell others the good news or tell them about church or hand them an "Our Daily Bread." "Work for the night is coming, then men work no more."
Okay, one more for today and this might surprise some, but this hero of mine today is a dear friend. He is someone I have looked up to for help. He is someone who was called to God very, very early in life. I met him about 30 years ago. The term hero is used because I know how he works for God and how that never stops regardless of what in life he has done. And while I name this gentleman today, tomorrow I will name a couple more. People who I set my eyes on even as I was coming to Christ. This man sets examples in all he does and one other neat thing, he is a lot younger than me. Most folks look up to someone older, that will come tomorrow. Today I just want to thank this man who has set a standard that makes him just one of my heroes of today, all of which work or Jesus, my main hero. This man even has a Bible name. Thanks, Timothy Beitzel, for following Jesus ... Love you, brother.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks so much for pointing out people from the Bible to be my heroes of today and also people who work hard for You, who give others reasons to follow You in what they do. I know, Father, that I love Jesus above all, and I pray that each day I can walk with Him more and more. Father, please bless those on this line and thanks for keeping it open. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
