Thursday 6/4/15 Old Man, Old Story! (16)

Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for saving me. Thanks for dying for me. Thanks for trusting me to serve You. I love You. Please, dear Lord, watch over our Matthew. Keep him safe, Lord, and protect him. We pray he has come back to You. Dear Lord, thanks for watching over me these last couple of days and thanks for taking away pain. Please, Lord, help the homeless lady that we could not help. Thank You, dear Father, for Your healing hand on Dave Fortney. Please watch over Edna Basehore. Please, Lord,  help me concentrate and please help me with the message and to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters. Praise report. Dave Fortney, who had that bad fall and we prayed for often on this line, is BACK TO WORK. All honor and glory goes to God. Please pray for Edna (Snook) Basehore who is having three heart valves replaced. I need to update you a tad on a few things. On Sunday I told you that when I awoke I felt different, my nagging body pain was gone except for my worn-out knees. I am clean of the Percocet that I have been on for a lot of years. I came off too quickly maybe, as in these past days I have shaken, been on the emotional roller coaster hitting highs and lows. Please pray that I can stay off the Percocet. Please also cover Dolores and me both in prayer along with our son Matthew. We did get to see Matthew a few weeks ago for an hour, but he again has slipped and has been moved to Ft. Washington to a long-term emotional health hospital. While we know this is what is needed with our son Matthew, we just want to see him well before we go to Jesus. With that said, I failed on this. If you suspect your child of drugs or booze as they grow, TAKE THEIR ROOM APART and when you find stuff do not just talk to them, get them help early on. Forgive me, Lord, for my mistakes. Remember this, the deeper you fall in love with God the more Satan comes after you and your family. PROTECT THEM!! Now to the message, Old Man, Old Story!

Thursday: June 4, 2015: Old Man, Old Story (Day Sixteen)

I Love to Tell the Story: (Catherine Hankey, William G. Fischer)

Chorus:

I love to tell the story! 'Twill be my theme in glory.
To tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story! 'Twill be my theme in glory.
To tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love.

Isaiah 44:15 - Forget the former things; DO NOT DWELL on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wastelands. (NIV)

The Closet: Yes, I subtitled my message today. Lately I have been dwelling on the past, things from my past. I remember growing up and the closet in our home were small and we had small dressers. Dad had a few suits as he had to wear them teaching. He also had about fourteen dress white shirts, a clean one for each day of the week and a set for the next week. Dad taught school in Pine Grove, PA, and he stayed there all week in an old boarding house. Mamma raised us through those tender years. I remember going to the corner on a Friday afternoon waiting and waiting for dad to come home. When the car turned the corner he would stop, I would get in and sit beside him and steer the car up the hill. Then I carried in his suitcase and would clean it out, knowing there would be one candy bar in it for me. Our closets did not have much in them, hardly any clothes, mamma told us to tell people "they were clean and paid for." But wait, the scripture says do not look back.

In our home the closets are full of clothes and we have been giving them away, but they are still full. As we come near the end of the line we have those ups and downs clinging to earthly JUNK. And we also look deep into our closets and we see that other earthly junk and it can cause you to lose sleep. While God will forgive your past and we are covered, when we come to Jesus your personal closet gets CLEANED OUT. It is clear He will not bring it up, still some of those memories are bad, most are good. We are to forget them, but they cause you to look back.

Today I would like to give you just some advice from an Old Man writing this Old Story who has a closet. Please, folks, do not let your earthly closet get full, either of clothes or the other stuff; and you all know what I am talking about because everyone has things in their closet they do not want brought out. Please when you look back, remember to look at the good things and not the bad, and do the same with others. Remember this, ALL HAVE SINNED and fall short of the glory of God. Pray to God each day to forgive your sins as we all sin sometimes we do not even know we are doing them. Example. Yesterday I was waiting for Dolores outside a doctor's office. I had the truck door open and the gospel music stumping, praising God with my eyes watching the people, some stopping to talk about Gospel music. One lady looked at me and said did I ever go to Gospel concerts on a motorcycle? I said yes and we talked about those good days. However, I must confess, my eyes would wander sometimes. And ladies, and I have talked to Dolores, she has looked at some young hunks. Just do not do it with lustful eyes for that is where the sin is.

Kids, the world is not getting easier, it is getting harder. Things are coming nearer and nearer to when God is going to send Jesus back. Please share that with YOUR children. Even if you do not go to church, go to Jesus. It is His Church, His bride He will be coming back for. And remember, if you do not put it in the closet you do not need to take it out. Lets pray.

Dear Father in Heaven: Please clean our closets of past sins and make us fresh this day. And Lord, help us to lead those who are lost to You. Please, Lord, send this newsletter where it is needed most. And Lord, please heal me and keep me away from the drugs used for pain. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go and pray then go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. And please share my love also.

Pastor Dan

P.S. In the near future we will have a full letter coming out as a ministry update. Right now we are still helping people with food, even having some come today. But the stock is getting very low. One thing we will do is keep helping others with food, but we will do more smaller buying so food does not go outdated. Sadly, that costs more dollars. We are also buying Bibles out of some donations. This month, four went to Russia. More later.
