Dear Father in Heaven, I love You, and I really appreciate You. Thanks for watching over me, and Lord, thanks for dying for me. I know You love me, because I can feel Your love. Dear Lord, I confess to You that some days I don't act like I love You, but I do. Thanks for working on Patsy, for Lord, she is out of that bed and sitting in a wheelchair. Thanks, Lord. Oh, and Lord, thanks for bringing Eleanor back home. Lord, please keep Your hand upon our families, not just mine, dear Lord, but all families including the families of our ministry. Lord bless those who help us and bless those whom we serve in Your name with food. Help me in days I struggle. And Lord, thanks for that big load of bread that we received this morning. I thank You for forgiving me of my sins, and I pray that You will now help me with the message and then help me dispatch it without my computer going down. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Hi, brothers and sisters, it is "empty hotdog day." Yes, it is, the day hollow wieners come for candy. A lot of Christians do not get involved with Halloween and even Santa at Christmas. I have learned over the years, back to the days when I was first saved, that almost anything that you have can be used for a tool to talk to folks about Jesus. Tonight I will sit at the end of our driveway in our hearse (yes, we have two of them) and give out candy. I will give the parents one of our ministry cards so if they need food they know they are welcome.
Praise report. Patsy got out of bed yesterday, now we keep praying she will be able to walk again and then go back home to be with Burt. Please pray for Craig to find a job, and please pray again for our son Matthew. Oh, I need to tell you this and I forgot. On Sunday in church, thee is a time when I tell folks to tell their neighbor that they love them and to pass it on, and I go and start with Dolores at the piano. She told me her fingers were so tight (they are twisting) she could hardly play the piano, and I held them and prayed for them, asking Jesus to heal them. She told me after church that she could feel the heat go through her fingers so she could play the piano. No glory for me, all to Jesus, folks. HE STILL HEALS, FOLKS. And Jesus does love me and you also, so let me get to the message.
Sunday Morning at 2:00 AM, turn your clocks back one hour.
Thursday, October 31, 2013, Jesus Loves Me, Day Three.
Psalm 36:7 - How priceless is Your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of Your wings. (NIV)
Psalm 36:10 - Continue Your love to those who know You, Your righteousness to upright in heart. (NIV)
Psalm 40:10 - Do not hide Your righteousness in my heart; I speak of Your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal Your love and Your truth from the great assembly. (NIV)
Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (NIV)
Okay, brothers and sisters, let me look at the scriptures that Jesus pointed me to for today. Let me start with Hebrews 13:8 which is one of so many that I really, really love. I am point it out again so that we can look back in those Psalms and know that when David was talking to "The Lord," he was indeed talking to Jesus, for indeed, "Jesus is Lord." I pointed that out so all of you know that thee Psalms are good for us today.
In Psalm 36:7 - "How prices is Your unfailing love!" The Love of our Lord Jesus, the unfailing love, meaning love that never fails us is priceless, meaning it is not for sale, it is free, priceless. It came without cost to us, but it cost Jesus His life and He did it for us. While we need to work for Him to show our love for Him and that we are saved, no amount of money, or even Mac and Cheese can buy that love. (People tell me I count dollars in Mac and Cheese. In fact I sold a car one day for 300 boxes of Mac and Cheese.)
That same Psalm tells us that the Love is for both high and low among men (women). To me that means regardless if one would be rich or poor, the love of Jesus is the same, and it is the same for those of us who love Him and those of us who hate Him. Think about that, does He not send blessings to all of us? If your neighbor hates God and you love Him and you both have a garden, does He not send rain on each?
In Psalm 36:10, we are asking Jesus to continue His love on those of us who know Him. However we also know we are to pray for those who don't know Him, and again he love them. The difference comes when we pass from this earth, we had better have Jesus locked in our hearts. You know, be Born Again.
In Psalm 40:10, Do not hide Your righteousness in my heart. That to me means help me to get it out, get into the fields of Harvest and tell about Jesus, and what are we to be telling? The Good News of Jesus, of course. You can see that David was telling the Lord that he speaks of Him and His faithfulness and salvation. Brothers and sisters, is not His love, faithfulness and salvation the "Good News?" And David is saying he will not conceal The Love and Truth from the great assembly ... And brothers and sisters, what might the great assembly be? Think about it. It is those fields of Harvest, it is our neighborhood, it is our family, it is all we meet, it goes to all the corners of the earth. SOMEONE SHOUT PRAISE THE LORD.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the message of today and thanks for saving me, and thanks for the Good News for us to share. Thank You, Jesus. I love You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya, pass that on, please. Pastor Dan

Tues/Wed 10/29-30 Jesus Loves Me 2
Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins as I start this day, and Lord, thanks for getting the computers up and running again for me. Please be with Patsy and heal her so she can get out of bed and walk. Be with Burt and their daughters. Lord, help them recover from their flooded home. Lord, thanks for the help that was here yesterday, and Lord, bless them. Now, Lord, on this day we call Salvation Wednesday, please help we who are saved to get out into Your fields of Harvest to help bring the lost to Your feet to be saved. Please keep protecting our president and thank You for answering our prayers that he keeps his finger off the missile buttons. Please keep watch over this line. Help me now with message and then help me dispatch it. In the name of Jesus, I give thanks and pray. Amen.
My dear brothers and sisters. Yesterday was long and hard, but praise God for Nichole and Doug who were here yesterday to help. Doug was doing some heavy lifting for us and Nichole was working with the goats and chickens. This morning I was up early as always, no alarm needed, as I always wake early out of habit and if I try and sleep in, my really big cat will come up on the bed and tell me to get up. Then I came to the computer to get to work on the message only to find out that once again my email had crashed out, so the next two hours were with the tech support people. I now have a contract to cover our computers. Hey, it is Salvation Wednesday on this line, and the day we who are saved are reminded to get to work bringing in the lost. Pray for God to come into your heart and save you, and if you are saved, please pray for God to point out people for you to witness to. Please pray for Patsy Emig. She is in a nursing home and does not want to get out of bed. She has a power chair and needs to use it. Then we keep praying for her to walk again. Now I want to get right to the message and get back on the subject Jesus Loves Me. Maybe today I can get the words to the song right. To Tim, Neil, Duane, at least I did not need to say watermelon!
Tuesday/Wednesday, October 29/30, Jesus Loves Me, Day Two.
Psalm 31:16 - Let Your face shine on Your servant, save me in Your unfailing love. (NIV)
Psalm 32:10 - Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him. (NIV)
Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong. They are weak, but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.
(Yes, I got it right.)
Yes, Jesus does love us, folks, and here today are just two more scriptures that confirm that for us. Now let's look at the scriptures and remember that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In Psalm 31:16, picture yourself as the one saying this. Are you a servant of the Lord? If not, you need to be. Let your face, Jesus, shine on Your servant Dan. You see how I put my name in there? Put your name in and use the Psalm as a prayer. In fact, please pray with me now, just this short prayer and put your own name in.
Dear Father in Heaven, please let Your face shine on Your servant Dan. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
Now the scripture goes on to ask Jesus to save us. So let's go back to prayer and finish it out.
Dear Father in Heaven, save me in Your unfailing love. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now let's take a look at our next scripture.
Psalm 32:10 - Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him.
I want you to see the wicked will be taken care of by having hard problems and troubles, the woes of the wicked. However, the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him. Do you trust Jesus this day? I mean really trust Him? Do you talk to Him each day and pray for healing? If you do not receive the healing the first time, do you give up? Or do you keep praying? Remember, even Jesus had to touch people more than once. He touched the blind eyes and the man could see but it was like trees walking, so Jesus touched him again. You see, that to me tells me that you never give up. Most of you know that Dolores and I both deal with a lot of pain, and folks, it would be easy to say, I am not getting up and doing these things for Jesus, but the pain would still be there, and as for me and our house, we are going to serve the Lord until He calls us home, and we are going to serve Him seven days a week. Folks, you need a day of rest, but you never should rest from serving the Lord. If it were not for a motorcycle accident years ago, I am not sure what I would be doing for the Lord. I was saved before the crash, but I only started really working for Him after the crash. I mean really working.
Brothers and sisters, if you are not trusting in Him, He will still be waiting for you to come, but to really, really enjoy the unfailing love of our Jesus, TRUST HIM ... And His love never ends.
Dear Lord, please keep loving on us, and even harder if we slack off working for You. Help us always be ready to witness for You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now please, you know Jesus loves you and also me, so go forth and share your blessings, and again today let's put this song, today with the correct words, on your heart, mind, soul, and lips, as you go forth. Love ya. Please pass that love on. Pastor Dan.
Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong. They are weak, but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.

Monday 10/28/13 Jesus Loves Me
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for a beautiful day, and thanks for keeping me safe on the road this day. Thanks for watching over our family and all the families that use this line. Lord, I pray today for our president and all of our leaders. I pray for our veterans, our troops, and our police and firefighters, and Lord, please, please protect them. Lord, please bring our troops home safe and soon. Thanks for our ministry team, Lord, and thanks for new folks coming to help. Now, dear Lord, if You would once again forgive me of my sins and bless me with a message for this day and then dispatch it for me, I would sure appreciate it. In the name of Jesus, I give thank and pray. Amen.
Good evening, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, I am late gain today, as I really try to get the message out early in the morning. It was a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, just beautiful. Please keep Neil and Jean O'Kane in your prayers. Today we also welcome Jason and Nichole to the line as prayer warriors. Jason and Nichole come and help us with our goats and will be helping with our food pantry also. Again we want to thank all of you who support the ministries of Carry The Light. It is so hard to believe that it is less than two months until Christmas. Here come Santa. On Saturday past, Grant and Bill put up Christmas lights at Santa's House and around our home (same location). We also have a great helper Doug Wotring who is adding a lot of pure strength in helping us. Folks, please keep praying for our leaders, our military, our veterans, our police, and firefighters.
Praise report. Eleanor Saylor is home. Please keep praying for the Saylor family. Also pray for Burt and Patsy, for Barbara in York and Barbara in Florida. Vicki also needs prayers. Please also pray for AnnMarie who has ALS. Prayers also for Elaine who has MS. And Mike who has Parkinson's. For Dolores' hands. For my buddy Dave and so many, many more this day. PRAY, WARRIORS, PRAY.
Monday, October 28, 2013, Jesus Loves Me, Day One.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through Him. (NIV)
Would you all just sing this with me today? Put this song on your lips and heart.
Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.
I am weak but he is strong. Jesus loves me all day long.
Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.
Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.
(Okay, I made up a few words.)
As I dig into the word this week, I started with the greatest love. God gave His Son Jesus for us. And God was sent here to save the world, and we are indeed part of the world. But let me point out some other great love. Today I set out early this morning after taking care of our animals and had some places to go. I stopped at our son's garage and had our car inspected. Then on to Hershey to the AACA Museum where they are doing a food and toy drive for Carry The Light Ministries. The Museum has an antique truck in the lobby and we will need to empty it several times this year. Talked to some friends there and then up the street to Interstate Battery Systems local garage. Yes, the trucks with the number 18 on the side. Well, the local owner, Wayne Reinhold, is a solid brother in Christ, and with a very busy day going on, this man, along with his one assistant who is a pastor, laid hands on me and prayed for me. Folks, true love is when you are never too busy to stop and pray with people who need prayer. When someone asks you to pray for them, love them and do it on the spot. For those of you who might be shy about it, trust me when I say God will give you the words to say, just hold the person's hands and look up to God and talk to him. You do not need a bunch of big words, you do not need to labor on and on, after all, God knows your needs already and also the one you are praying for. And God hears those prayers and will answer each one in His time. If you see the same person still in need of prayer, pray for them again. You do remember that even God, when healing a man's eyes, had to touch him the second time. Okay, enough for now. Pardon my spelling, I am falling asleep at the keyboard. More tomorrow on Jesus Loves Me.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for helping me with the message, and please review our prayer requests and honor them according to Your will. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings and remember, Jesus loves you Love ya. Pass that on. Pastor Dan.

Thur/Fri 10/24-25/13 Time
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You, thank You for bringing Danny through the night, thanks for watching over family, thanks for kids who care, thanks for our ministry team, and Lord, please, please keep watching over our families, our ministry team, all those who support the ministries of Carry The Light and all those who we can witness to. Lord, help us each day to step out in Your Name, and when I get weary, please remind me real good why we do these things. Lord, I know it is all for You. Please, Lord, help me with the message and then help me get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Good morning, brothers and sisters. What a great and wonderful day yesterday was. Started out as always taking care of animals, then off to a sing-along, and back home for a nice meal of homemade veggie soup. I almost typed in homemade soap, sort of reminds me of what I ate a lot of when I was a child. After lunch we were expecting a family for food. While waiting for them, I came up from the food pantry (under our home) to the upstairs. On the way up I noticed our baby goat, who is just one year old, was down. I went in the pen and he, and yes, he is named after me, he is Danny. It did not take me long to see he could not pass water. I called our vet and went back down to the food pantry to serve the family, who never showed up. That is why I asked the Lord to now let me get weary. Back up to change clothes, for I was still dressed from the sing-along. Our vet came, and she carried Danny into our garage, did surgery on him on our garage floor. Praise God for a great vet and for taking care of Danny. This morning he was out looking for his breakfast. GOD IS GOOD, and He even takes care of our animals. Until I was finished, I came in, and it was after 7:00 PM. I get up each day by 4:00 AM, so I laid across the bed planning on getting back up to do the message. Well, I fell asleep with Martin Jr. beside me and Marvin (my cat) behind me, along with Bentley, our biggest Yorkshire also on the bed. I don't know where the rest of the night went, but I never made it to the computer. Sorry about that. Well, again, it was a great day. Let me get to the message now. Switching to Time today, after a couple days about wasting.
Matthew 24:29 - "Immediately after the distress of those days, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 30 At that TIME the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other." (NIV)
Dear brothers and sisters, the time is coming, and I, like many others, believe it is coming to an end fast. While I now for years and years now we have been seeing signs on that side of barns that say "chew Mail Pouch." Just seeing if you are awake. We see signs on the barns that say, "Ye Must Be Born Again." Or just "John 3:16." And again I tell you that we are not to be trying to figure out just when our Lord is going to return, but we have a job to do and I think our TIME is running out to get this job done for Jesus. I recently saw a news program where they were talking about all the hate crimes (my term) against Christians and Jews that are going on and how this past year they have doubled over the year before, and I am talking America, not some other country.
Are you strong enough in your faith to stand up for Jesus if you were confronted by a hate group? If you were arrested for being a Christian, could they find enough evidence against you to convict you? Could they find enough evidence that you are a Christian to convict you? Could they really? Brothers and sisters, do not WASTE TIME, FOR TIME IS RUNNING OUT. This is not about us but them, this is about getting more people to Jesus before it is too late. I just heard the Captain of the Love Boat, I think his name is Gavin McCleod, talking about Ted Knight. He had some tears flowing as he talked about how he led Ted to the Lord on a bedside conversion.
Please, brothers and sisters, let's get the Lord's work done. At one time, about 20 years ago, when Jesus called us to Carry The Light Ministries, we started by singing at retirement homes. I would joke and say good place to start, maybe the folks will like us because they cannot hear. It was not long until I knew that is where Jesus wanted us for most of our ministry, other than the food pantry, still involves seniors, and yes, we also serve some of them at the food pantry. But God laid on my heart, what if these dear silver-haired folks do not know about Jesus, go and tell them. Over and over again and again we have told our flock at The Bridges as long as God is willing and The Bridges let us in, we will be their pastor.
Of course the other long-time part of this outreach is you folks, and I do not know how old you folks are for most I have never met. So let me tell you, you need Jesus to get into Heaven, and if you have Jesus in your heart, remember, TIME IS RUNNING OUT. Go into the fields of harvest for the crop is ripe to harvest, and do some "picking for the Lord." Let's get busy and bring in the lost ... Someone shout AMEN!
Dear Father in Heaven, help us get to work for You for time is short. Help us to seek out the lost. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings, working for the Lord and really enjoying your day. For this is the day the Lord has made. Amen. Love ya. Pass that on, please. Pastor Dan

Pastor Dan

Wednesday 10/23/13 Waste 2
Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for a great day, thanks for safety on the highway, thanks for family and friends, and Lord, please forgive me of my sins and please keep watch over our families and over our ministry team and over this line and all who use it. Lord, on this Wednesday that we call Salvation Wednesday, help us to always remember that only You can save the lost and that we are indeed needed and even commanded by You to help bring in the lost. I pray today for the saved and the unsaved, for our friends and also those who might hate us. Lord, use us on this line who are saved to bring in the lost. And Jesus, thanks for dying for me, I am sure unworthy, but I really do appreciate that You did this for all of us. Now, dear Father, please help me with the message and then, please, help me get it dispatched. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, another beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. For you new folks coming on the line, the Southern Location of the North Pole is at 16 Dewalt Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA, 17050. Also, so you know, you are welcome to send in prayer requests, and we send them out for all to pray over. I do not list the people over and over each day. Updates on those we are praying for would be appreciated. Please keep praying for the Saylor family, the Emigs, and I do not know how I missed this one, but please pray today for school bus drivers. This is school bus safety week, and as you all know, I believe that school bus drivers are some of the best drivers on the road today. Remember when those lights on the bus are red, you must stop. Yes, there are a few times you may pass going the other way, but the highway must be divided and with a barrier in the middle. When I had school bus drivers working under my charge at Central Dauphin School District, I would tell them that if a truck driver dumps a load of eggs, they can go back and get more. People cannot be replaced. God blessed me with good drivers. In the 24 years I was in charge, there was NOT ONE student hurt in a school bus accident. ALL HONOR AND GLORY FOR THAT GOES TO GOD, ALL OF IT. THANK YOU, JESUS. Look, I am wasting time now so it is time for me to get to the message.
John 6:12 - When they had all had enough to eat, He said to His disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." (NIV)
Mark 6:41 - Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then He gave them to His disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 They all ate and were satisfied, 43 and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. 44 The number of men who had eaten was five thousand. (NIV)
John 17:1 - After Jesus said this, He looked toward heaven and prayed, "Father, the time has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You. (NIV)
A lot of years ago I was sitting in a church when the pastor tried to explain the miracle of the feeding of five thousand that all sat down together and shared their packed lunches. I just do not understand why some people will read the Bible and believe some of it and then not other parts. As I have told all of you, I believe my Bible from the first words to the very last. If you are one who tells there is just no way that Jesus fed five thousand with five loaves and two fish and then had leftovers, then how can you believe that you will be saved if you truly love Jesus?
You will notice that I have reused one scripture from yesterday. John 6:12 brings out so much about how nothing should be wasted. Today I tie the waste together with the miracle of the five loaves and two fish. The disciples picked up twelve baskets full of leftovers. Today I made veggie soup, in fact it is cooking as I am typing, and it will be cooking all night on very low heat. I made a lot of it. I had the stock back from a ham dinner we had some time ago, and I carved up another ham today so there would be meat in the veggie soup. After carving down the ham I took the bone out for the stray cats to eat at. The trimmings from the veggies went into the goat pen. I tried not to waste anything. Over the years I have gone to a lot of those "all you can eat" places. I have watched some families go up and load a plate (parents and kids) and go back and eat a few bites and then it gets pitched and they go back up and get more and more. I just cannot believe how much food gets wasted in this great nation. To me it is a sin and a shame to do that. I just wonder how many tears God sheds each day when He sees what gets wasted, when so many people have nothing. When I was a child, what went on my plate I had to eat and I did not leave the table until my plate was empty. I do confess to putting some under the table from time to time for our dog.
Speaking of putting food down to the dog, I must tell you this story. I was about six, and I came home from school and got the key out of the milk box and went into the house. Mom had made some fresh ham spread and had it in a dish in the fridge. I found it and I was hungry so I got out two pieces of bread, put some mayo on it and all of that leftover ham spread. When Mom came home from work about a half hour later she asked me, "Danny, did you feed Mickey?" Mickey was our dog! I said no. She then asked, "what happened to that little dish of dog food that was in the fridge?" Yes, folks, I ate the dog food, and that is a true story.
Okay, getting back to the message. I used other scriptures today. They show how Jesus prayed.
John 17:1 - After Jesus said this, He looked toward heaven and prayed, "Father, the time has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You." (NIV)
Mark 6:41 - Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven He gave thanks and broke the loaves. (NIV)
God pointed this one out to me because it talks about the time has come. Tomorrow I will shift gears in the time is coming, but today I want you to look at something. Over the years I often prayed looking up and even with my hands raised in praise, but looking toward heaven. I was questioned on that years ago and pointed out that is the way Jesus prayed. As a child like most kids I was taught to bow my head, close my eyes, and fold my hands. Folks, I am bringing this out, so that as you talk to your children and grandchildren, and also in your own prayers, we need to be reverent when we speak to God, but folding your hands, closing your eyes, and bowing, are not needed. What is needed is that you talk to Jesus and you listen for Him to answer.
Dear Father, teach us to pray, and help us understand that it is talking to You, and not the way our body is when we pray. Teach us also to listen. Anoint us now to do Your work. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya, and please pass that on. Pastor Dan

Mon/Tues 10/21-22/13 Waste
My Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for another day and thanks for all that You do for me and the ministry that You granted unto us to operate for You. Please forgive me of my sins this day, those on the front of my mind and also those that I have done and don't even remember. Please, Lord, be with our president and is family and keep him safe. I pray first for his soul and then his safety and then his leadership over his family and our great nation. Once again, Lord, we see in the news about a school shooting. Please go back into our schools and protect our children. Your children. Lord, please be with those on our ongoing prayer list, and Lord, help Dolores with her day-to-day pain. And Lord, I need Your touch. Please, dear Lord, please relieve me of just a tad bit of pain, I am crying out to You, dear Lord, I need Your help. I want to keep working each day for You, Lord. Please, now help me with the message of today and then send it out to where You want it to go. In Jesus' name, I pray and give thanks. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, you can see by my prayers this morning that I need God's touch to carry some of the pain. I feel like a wimp even asking because of the pain He carried/carries for me to this day. But folks, I confess "I am weak, but He is strong." Another school shooting yesterday, and one teacher dead, one teacher Marine who rushed the shooter to stop him from shooting others. Pray today for our schools, and for our brave men and women of our military and of our state and local police. Prayers also for Pastor Ed from Church of God. Prayers also for Bob and Karen Hileman, for Burt and Patsy Emig. For the Saylor family. Please pray for the Ministries of Carry The Light. Now, let me get to the message. Sorry about yesterday, I just don't know where the day went. However, it did lead me to the message title, called "WASTE."
Monday/Tuesday, October 21/22, 2013, Waste (Day One).
John 6:12 - When they had all had enough to eat, He said to His disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." (NIV)
2 Corinthians 4:16 - Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. (NIV)
2 Corinthians 13:9 - We are glad whenever we are weak, but you are strong, and our prayer is for your perfection. (NIV)
I want to go back to the days of my childhood again (dirt streets and milk in a glass bottle). For as long as I can remember, I love cars and trucks. I would push them all around the house. We had a dirt bank alongside our house that my dear mamma tried to grow grass on, but I would build roads and push my cars and trucks around it. When I started into first grade, I would take paper and draw roads on it and make little cars out of paper and drive them around. My report card would come out and on it it was handwritten by the teacher, WASTES TIME!! When my schoolteacher parents would see it, you can just about guess what was said to me. Mamma would say, wait until your father sees this, and when daddy would see it, I would get told about it. But to me, I was not wasting time, looking back I might have wasted some paper or a pencil or two. As I moved up through the grades those words often showed up on my report card. WASTES TIME! While I and my parents had some debates over what was called wasting time, I can tell you one thing that we did agree on. No food got wasted at our home. None, zip. Back in those days there were no food stamps,no food banks, and while we did have a small food pantry in our basement, it was because my daddy and other neighbors had gardens and would grow food. Then my mamma would can it up and sometimes she would trade with others. We also found out that if we were having chicken for Sunday dinner you could expect chicken corn soup the coming week. Brothers and sisters, food was not wasted a bit back then. In fact, I had been with my daddy already when we would stop at a farmer's field after the corn was picked and my daddy would ask if we could walk out and gather a few leftover ears of corn.
Today as I look at the scripture above and in the words right from Jesus "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." ... I can see where my parents were coming from. I know for a fact today that there are people who come to food pantries, take food, and pull out what they want and PITCH THE REST IN A DUMPSTER. While that has not happened at our food pantry, you need to start thinking these folks are just not hungry enough. j If people would just follow the Bible and we who love the Lord would take care of our neighbors, that would be great, and the GOVERNMENTS COULD GET OUT OF THE WELFARE BUSINESS. One of the hardest things for me to do in our food pantry is to pitch out food, but sometimes after a food drive we must do just that. You see, some people just get in their food cupboard at home and get out the old stuff and take it to a food drive. We get things in that are five to up to ten, yes, ten years outdated, and we pitch it out, of course. Sad to see the waste in our country while in some countries, and in fact some places in our own country people really do need the food.
My parents would tell me, "Waste not, want not." And how right they were. Often times when our ministry team gets together for meal, we talk about just how many meals one can get out of a ham. First, the ham, and then you cook down the bones and use the broth. We need to get back into the word and really look at it and go by it.
Today, I say to you as Jesus told us, let nothing be wasted.
Tomorrow, more on WASTE. Now go forth, my dear brothers and sisters, praying for each other, loving each other, and sharing those blessings, and take heart and LET NOTHING BE WASTED.
Love ya. Pass that on, please! Pastor Dan

Friday 10/18/13 Listen 4
Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for the messages You are giving me this week, for Lord, You are indeed teaching me to listen more. Dear Father, please forgive me of my sins and start me fresh this day. Dear Lord, please be with Patsy, Burt, and their two daughters. And Lord, please be with Fred Thibeau and heal him, Lord. Please touch Helen and heal her. Lord, it is so nice that You hear our prayers and regardless of the location of where the person is we are praying for, You are taking care of them. Lord, as we head to the weekend, I pray for pastors, Lord, and all those stepping out and teaching, preaching, and singing Your word. I pray today for Wanda, Lord, and I ask that You open Your Word for her as she studies Your Word. Lord, please know we appreciate You watching over families and friends and helping me each day with a message. Lord, I pray today for Your blessing upon Carry The Light Ministries as we look to grow again. Now, Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me with the message and to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, please pray today for Fred Thibeau who is in the hospital in Dover, NH. Also pray for Helen Thomas as she has been sick. Today I ask you to pray for Carry The Light Ministries. Over the years, a major plumbing and heating firm and fuel oil dealer has held blanket drives. Eshenhaur, Inc., has been doing this for 40 years. We have been notified by them (we are customers) that this is their last year. It would be a shame to see this wonderful program dropped, so pray for our ministry and for God to give us wisdom in going forward with another mission. Pray this weekend for all those stepping out in the name of Jesus, be they preaching, teaching, singing, and even like Wanda Crockett, updating her studies. Now it is time for me to get to the message, and brothers and sisters, I have learned a lot this week about listening. And Dolores said, it is about time!!
"Wanted" -- A train set or two, as we would like to get a model railroad running for Santa's House.
Friday, October 18, 2013, Listen, Day Four.
Deuteronomy 30:19b - Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him. For the Lord is your life. (NIV)
Proverbs 1:5 - Let the wise listen and add to their learning and let the discerning get guidance. (NIV)
Mark 9:7 - Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to Him!" (NIV)
Today I want to talk to you a little more about how we should listen. I go back to the days of my childhood, yes, when the streets were still dirt and MILK CAME IN A BOTTLE DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR. As a child I would listen, but not listen! Did you get that? Yes, I would listen and not listen! Here is what I am talking about. My dear mamma would tell me something and I would sit there and listen to what she said, but then go and not listen. In short, I was sort of a "brat." (Right, Martha?) My Mamma would calmly say, you had better listen to me and by this time she was not talking about "hearing her" but doing what she said.
It is the same with our Loving Lord, brothers and sisters, what good is it if we pray and listen, if indeed we do not listen? Double talk, no way, it is the fact. We need to listen and then we need to listen. Or we need to hear Him and then heed what He said. Another example might be, your boss talks to you about doing some work, and you listen to him, but then you do not do the job as he wanted it done. You listened, but you did not listen. You heard him but did not heed or carry out what you heard. Jesus has told us that we need to repent of our sins, now we listened and we heard Him say it or we listen as we read it from His Word. But we did not repent of our sins, so we did not listen. Getting it yet? Remember the railroad crossing? I said we should stop, look, and listen. So we stop, we look, and we listen, and we hear that big engine horn sounding, but we do not really listen. Well, if that happens, I do hope that you had decided before this to repent and come to Jesus. Got ya on that one.
We also when we listen, we need to listen and then decide what is right and what is wrong. Yesterday we looked at Scripture where Jesus said, "His sheep know His voice and follow Him." We need to learn the Good Shepherd's voice, our Lord Jesus' voice and we need to follow Him. Okay, look again at Mark 9:7 and hear what God said. "This is my Son, whom I love. LISTEN TO HIM!" Brothers and sisters, the really neat thing about our Bible is there is no time limit on it. The Word is as good today as it was back when Jesus walked this earth.
Dear Father in Heaven, I pray again this day asking You to help us not just listen, but to really listen and heed what You are saying. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings and be sure to listen, listen to Jesus, listen to your spouse, and also listen to your children. And please listen and listen with your ears, mind, heart and soul, and then heed what you listened to. And remember this. I love ya. Pass it on, Pastor Dan.
Yesterday we looked at Scripture where Jesus said, "His sheep know His voice and follow Him." Thursday 10/17/13 Listen 3
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You very much and I appreciate all that You do for me. Thanks for taking care of those who use this line and I pray You will also take care of their families. Thanks for taking care of our ministry team, and I ask You also take care of their families. Thanks for watching over me and taking care of my family. Thanks, dear Father, for watching over those in Washington, DC, and I pray that they will invite You back in to run the country, for, dear Lord, they do not know how to run it and they surely cannot do it without You. Lord, we all need to look at You for help each day and listen to what You tell us and carry Your word to the world. Thanks again for all You do and for watching over this line. Please help me now with the message and then dispatch it for me. Oh, and Lord, thanks again for all of our animals and for Martin Jr. Oh, Lord, and I am sorry, I should have mentioned this first. Please forgive me of my sins of yesterday and today. Thanks for washing me clean. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Hi there, brothers and sisters. We welcome Audrey Cavanaugh to our group of prayer warriors this day. She is from Philly. Please pray today for the six-month old with cancer. Pray for Vicki who has a plateful. For Eleanor to get home soon. Pray for Dan Stoner who has cancer. Dan is a missionary, one who flies into the backwoods to get the message out. Dan and his wife have four young ones. Please pray for Burt, Patsy, and their two girls, all with medical issues. Please pray for all those in Washington, DC, and pray first for their souls and then that they take the country's business before God before they act on that business. Also pray for our troops, police, and firefighters. And pray also each day for God's guidance in your life and then "listen" to what He tells you to do.
Some important dates:
The first Saturday in December, 12/7/2013, 9:00 AM. That will be our picking and packing day in the food pantry. This is a very busy and rewarding day in the food pantry. We need pickers and we need packers, we will need cardboard stackers, and more than likely people to sort food that is coming in. WE will be packing about 500 bags of food. We should be done by noon.
The third Saturday in December, 12/21/2013. This will be distribution day. We need helpers here by 8:00 AM to get things ready. The cars will start coming in at 9:00 AM. We will need PRAYER WARRIORS. Yes, we pray for and over each family coming for food. This year we will have "Santa's House" open as a HOUSE OF PRAYER. This for those who need deep prayers for salvation, healing, or just need some extra prayers. We also need loaders. For those of you who have been here, it is cold, but it is one really FUN DAY FOR THE LORD.
Special Invite. Black Friday, Santa's House will be open, 10 AM to 4 PM with Santa and Mrs. Claus. This would be a great time to bring in those children and grandchildren. Children 11 and under will receive gifts from Santa and Mrs. Claus and the Elves and even THE SPY!
Okay, time for me to get to the message, Listen.
Thursday, October 17, 2013, Listen, Day 3.
John 10:25 - Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one." (NIV)
If I were to ask you today what sign looks like this -- "X" -- and has lettering on it, what would you say? The "X" sign is at railroad tracks. On the "X" board it reads "Stop, Look, and Listen." Underneath there is a board that tells you the number of tracks. Now those signs lettered like that are at uncontrolled crossings and all vehicles should stop at those crossings. If there are lights and/or cross-arms, cars are not required to stop, but buses, taxis, limos, and trucks hauling hazardous materials must stop. Drivers are to "Stop, Look, and Listen." To me, the most important part of the law after stopping is to listen. Sometimes your vision is blocked by trees, buildings, etc., and even the bright sun. You need to listen and listen well. Your hearing is a very important part of your driving. Be sure to listen!
As I look at the scripture that God pointed me to today, I see right from the start Jesus tells us we do not listen. He says, "I did tell you, but you do not believe." And why? Because they did not listen! Read the next part. "The miracles I do in my Father's name SPEAK FOR ME." The Word of Jesus tells us this, if we do not believe we are not His sheep. Jesus said, "My sheep listen to my voice; and I know them and they follow me."
Now let's take a look at other scriptures. One we all know ...
Psalm 23:1 - The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. (NIV)
Psalm 100:3 - Know that the Lord is God, it is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. (NIV)
John 10:14 - "I am the good Shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me. 15 Just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father and I lay down my life for the sheep." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, I pray you can follow the scriptures. We are His sheep, we are the sheep of Jesus. Jesus said we listen to Him for we know His voice. We know His voice, and that tells me that to know His voice we must listen to Him. It also tells that He does talk to us. So if you are not hearing our Lord Jesus, well then, brothers and sisters, you just ain't listening! Jesus also tells us this good news. He knows His sheep and that would be we who are "Born Again!" He knows all who are saved and He states right here and other places in the Bible also, that we will have eternal life. "I give them eternal life and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand." Look at this, folks, Jesus said, I give them eternal life. I want to point out the wording on that. It does not say I GAVE THEM, it says I GIVE THEM, eternal life. Meaning He is still judging us about eternal life. The other great news is that NO ONE CAN SNATCH THEM (US) OUT OF HIS HAND. Once Jesus has a hold on us, once we come to Him, once we truly come to Him, no one can snatch us. Words of Jesus, folks.
So what did we learn today? Let's go back to that railroad crossing sign. Let us take time to STOP. Stop and pray and talk to Jesus. LOOK, get your Bible out and look at it, pray that God opens His Word so you understand it. Then LISTEN, listen for Jesus to talk to you. Yes, you can listen as you do other things, but do take time to listen.
Dear Father in Heaven, help us, please, to Stop, Look, and really, really Listen for You to talk to us. Then help us put what You say into action. Thanks. I pray in the name of Jesus, and I love You. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings. God really loves you, and as you go to sleep, if you are counting sheep, look for me among the sheep, I will be the one with "all white hair." I just had to say that. Love ya. Pass that love on, please. Pastor Dan

Tues/Wed 10/15-16/13 Listen 2
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I appreciate You very, very much. Thanks for sending Your one and only Son to die to clear me of my sins. Please forgive me this day. Thanks for watching over our family and for watching over all of our friends and I pray You will take care of their families also. Lord Jesus, thanks for all You do for us. Lord Jesus, today is Salvation Day on our line, and first we ask to be saved, and then we ask that You help us all to follow Your command and go to the fields of harvest and lead them to Your feet. Help us, Lord, and help me today to get the message out and that my words are from You. The, Lord, help me dispatch it so that it gets where it is to be going. Bless the words with Your love and grace as only You can bless them. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Hello, brothers and sisters. I am truly sorry about yesterday, and I still do not know where it went. Starting with the early morning chores and then off to a doctors appointment, home to pack food for families, and then off for a nap. Well, like the Santa story, it seemed to be a "long winter's nap." Anyway, I need to get right to the message.
But first, let me ask you, are you listening today? Listening for God to speak to you? Let me get to the message.
Tuesday/Wednesday "Salvation Wednesday," 10/15-16/2013, Listen (Day Two).
James 1:19 - My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you which can save you. 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it, he will be blessed in what he does. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, I have told all of you so often that I believe that God gives me messages to write to all of you that point right back at me. I truly feel that when I pray and talk to our Lord God, I need to do a much better job of listening for God to get back to me. In other words, I need to be putting into practice what I preach. Today is Salvation Wednesday and the day we pray first for our own Salvation and then if we know we are saved and only two know this, Our Lord Jesus and also ourselves. As you know, Salvation is a personal relationship between Jesus and each of us. Jesus will intercede for us to get us into heaven, but we cannot intercede for anyone. And while we can and should be working each day to take the good news to all others so they may become saved, only Jesus can really save us.
Our scripture for today coming from James tells us that we need to be quick to listen and slow to speak and become angry. Let me ask you this, have you ever "shot off your mouth" and became angry about something before you have listened to all the facts? The Bible tells us that "our anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires." Now, folks, the Bible tells us that we should not merely listen to the word but we should put it into practice. Listening to the word means also when we read it, for when we do read, we listen to ourselves as we read. We need to listen to the word and then we need to work hard to put into practice what God tells each of us to do.
We need also to put listening into our daily lives, not just in our Christian walk. Let's start by our reviewing some things we need to do each day. The first thing some of us listen to the first thing in the morning is the alarm clock going off. If we would not listen to it, why set it? And if we do not listen to it, more than likely the day will get off to a bad start. Then, of course, when we go and get into our cars and head out to work or school or an appointment we need to be listening and NOT TO THE CELL PHONE and/or the texting thingy. We should obey the laws, we should obey the laws and listen to what they mean and abide by them. At work, we need to listen to what the boss tells us and at school what the teachers tell us. And if we are sick and go to the doctor, we need to listen to their advice and abide by it.
So once again we see how God's word, how God'sword works into our daily living. Once again, if we follow the advice in the Bible we will be much better off. Even non-believers, those who do not believe in Christ at all, follow His word. Think about that and see if you can think of just how many times in a day you are following the word that is in the Bible just to live a normal day in the life of your family. It just might surprise you.
Dear Father in Heaven, please help us to read Your word, and listen to Your word, and put Your word into our daily living. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings, and keep on listening to The Word and applying it to your daily walk.
I love ya. Pass that on, please. Pastor Dan

Monday 10/14/2013 "Listen"
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You, Lord, and I give thanks for all things. Thanks for a new day and thanks for taking care of families and friends. Thanks for watching over us during the night. Thanks for the good news about Eleanor. Please help me today to walk in the light and path of Jesus, and Lord, help me, please, now with the message. Please heal the seven-month old baby with cancer. Lord, please heal him, heal this child. Please, after the message, help me dispatch it. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, please pray for seven-month old Riker Wright, who has cancer. Hershey Medical told his parents to take him home and enjoy the short time with him that he has left. PRAY, WARRIORS, PRAY.
I do have a few other prayer requests today, including our nation, but let me just hold them until tomorrow so we can focus on this baby with cancer. Let me get on with the message of today and this week. Subject, "Listen."
Proverbs 12:15 - The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice. (NIV)
Luke 10:38 - As Jesus and His disciples were on their way, He came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to Him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what He had said. 40 But Martha was distressed by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to Him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" 41 "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered. "You are worried and upset about many things. 42 But only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, "Listen" might be Dr. Charles Stanley's most used word. In his messages, he often tells those in his flock to "listen." Listen, he tells them, listen, and then he will read some scripture or put in a very, very important part of his message. Dear Television Judge Judy, often tells people to put on their listening ears, and/or you have been given two ears and one mouth for a reason. My dear mamma often told me that, you h ave two ears, use them. Back in my youth, I thought my two ears were there just to balance my eye glasses. My dear daddy was more blunt than mamma. He would just say, "Be quiet and listen before I tan you butt." So listen I did for I know if he tanned my butt the wax would have popped out of my ears.
We find out in the Bible that our Lord Jesus also wanted us to listen. So this week, we need to listen, and may I say that besides listening with our ears, we also need to listen with our hearts, and what we hear in our ears needs to be processed in our minds and hearts. But listen to me, when God speaks to us, most often we hear it with our heart. Let me back that up with some scripture.
Proverbs tells us that a wise man listens to advice. And I will tell you that we get no better advice than the advice that we get either directly from our Lord when He speaks to our heart or the advice that we get when we read the scriptures and follow them. Let us look at the example that God has pointed out to me and recorded in the book of Luke. Martha has opened her home to Jesus and His disciples and we all know that when we are expecting company we have things to do. Most ladies, even if their home is already neat and clean, if they were to find out that Jesus and His disciples were coming, it would need to be fine-cleaned, or re-cleaned. Then, of course, there is food to get ready. Now Mary, Martha's sister, was there to help, and I would think she did until Jesus arrived, then Mary stopped working and sat down and "LISTENED" to Jesus. Martha went to Jesus and told Him, Mary is slacking and I am getting stuck with all the work. Jesus told Martha that Mary was doing what was really needed. When Jesus speaks we need to stop what we are doing and "listen" to Him. Jesus pointed out Mary was doing what was right. Jesus said, "Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." I would take that to mean Jesus in His way just told Martha to just stop working and join Mary and listen to me.
Dear brothers and sisters, tomorrow we will look for more scriptures about listening and then applying to our daily walk what we have listened to.
Dear Father in Heaven, help us each day to listen with both our ears and also our heart and use our mind and heart to process all of it. Help us with that, dear Lord, and then help us apply it to our daily walk with You. In Jesus' name we pray and want to listen. Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings and telling others about the word of the Lord listening for Him to speak to you.
Friday 10/11/13 What Time Is It? (4)
Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks so much for another day and thanks for the rain that is filling our wells. Please protect Your people that are near the rising waters. Thanks for waking us and thanks for taking care of our family and also all those who use this line. Love on them, dear Lord, love on them and please teach us all to love. Lord, be with those on our prayer lists, and Lord, please help me with the message and then help me dispatch the message, Lord. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen
Hey, brothers and sisters, What time is it? If you live in our area, it might be a good time to learn to swim. We have had a lot of rain, but fear not, you do not need an ark. If you did, you ore than likely could not get the permit to build it because the government would be closed. I think if the government is closed then we should also park AIR FORCE ONE and TWO. Anyway, it is Friday and the day we should pray for our president and for our military folks, and police and firefighters. Pray also for pastors and all those who know it is time to go into the fields of Harvest and be fishers of men. (Amen) Let me get to the message, "What Time Is It?"
Friday, October 11, 2013, "What Time Is It?" Day Four.
Jeremiah 3:4 - The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. (NIV)
John 10:36 - "What about the one whom the Father set apart as His very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'? 37 Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. 38 But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I in the Father." (NIV)
Again today I want to point out to all of you, What Time It Is! It is time we get our lives in order and then after we have our lives in order get out into the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus and tell the folks the good, good news. Sometimes I think we pastors sound like broken records, and we keep repeating and repeating ourselves, but the bottom line is this, while we have many jobs to do for the Lord, our main job is to be sure that each soul we reach, we reach for God. If we feed a person's body and not their soul, what good have we done? If we put clothes on their backs but no fire in their belly for Jesus, what good have we done? God has given us many commandments to follow, not just the ten original and the two from Jesus, but so many including but not limited to going into all the corners of the earth to preach and teach the good news.
Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." (NIV)
The scripture from Jeremiah shows us that Jesus knew us before we were in the womb, regardless of how we got into the womb. He also set us apart from others, and that means our work for Him was all planned out ahead of time. I want you to think about this. All of you know how I feel about abortion. I think it is out and out murder and against God's will. Think of all those who God already knew that their lives were taken before they had the chance to work for Him. Brothers and sisters, do not be alarmed if He also changes your work schedule for Him. You might really love where you are in your walk with Jesus, you might be a pastor and love your charge when God sends you somewhere else. Maybe you have completed your mission for Him and now He is sending you out on another mission. Not long ago I was talking to Duane Nicholson (world's best tenor singer), and he is making his final tour with the original Couriers. I told him he cannot retire, for nowhere in the Bible does it talk about retiring from working for Him. It does not say, "Go into all the world and teach and preach the good news until you are 70 and then stop." No, maybe just shift to a different gear. I am 72 and change and I feel I am just getting started working for Him. So again as I finish up the message today, "What Time Is It?" ... It is time to go into the fields of Harvest and work for the Lord. It is time to work for Him. So how about it?
Dear Father in Heaven, send us forth this day, working for You. Open doors that we might enter and tell all those there the Good News and tell them to repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Help us, Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Go forth, brothers and sisters, and share your blessings and keep on loving Jesus and all others. Love ya. Pass it on. Pastor Dan

Wed/Thur October 9-10/13 What Time Is It? (3)
Dear Father in Heaven: Please forgive me of my sins and please forgive me for not getting the message out yesterday. I really need to put the message on the front burner and I need Your help with it so I get up early in the morning and get to it. Thanks for watching over family and friends and the ministries of Carry The Light. Please, Lord, help us each day to walk with You in this uncertain world. Thank You, God, for answered prayer and healing the doctor so he could return to work. In Jesus' Name, I pray and trust. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, I got a wonderful email and reminder from a young lady named Karen who reminded me that back in the day she also helped me with my homework. Thanks for that reminder. If it were not for help, I might still be in my senior year. That would mean I would be the "senior senior." Praise report in as one of the doctors we prayed for is well and back to work thanks to Jesus. Sorry about yesterday, and I really hate to miss a message on Salvation Wednesdays, I think we really need that charging in mid-week. However, time got away from me and until I was done with the chores, it was about 5:30 PM and I went to bed. So let me get to the message right now. By the way! "What Time Is It?" It is time to get to the message. Don't you just love it?
Wednesday/Thursday, October 9-10, 2013, What Time Is It? Day Three!
Acts 1:4 - On one occasion, while He was eating with them, He gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." 6 So when they met together, they asked Him, "Lord, are You at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" 7 He said to them: "It is not for you to know THE TIME OR DATES the Father has set by His own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes to you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, "What Time Is It?" It is time that we get to work for our Lord Jesus in all that we do. I know that some of us have trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time, while others can do many, many things at once. Just a couple footnotes on that statement, I have trouble walking and if I chew gum, my lower jaw goes up and down, but my teeth seem to stick together and get all "gummed" up. One other thing that people are doing is trying to drive and text at the same time. I think there should be something built into cell phones so that they do not work inside a car when it is running. Okay, but what I am going to talk to you about that you can do while you are working on other things:
First: In whatever we are doing and wherever we are doing it, we can be walking in the footsteps of Jesus or trying our very best to act as Jesus would act. We should be thinking "What Would Jesus Do? Yes, those letters, WWJD. I wear a wrist bracelet that has this on it. W.W.J.D. Years ago, this really neat young family walked into Hope United Methodist Church. A young couple, a good-looking man and a pretty lady and they had thees two little guys and the youngest, and maybe both, but the youngest of them had a ponytail. They were dressed really neat and the kids looked so cute. This was the Fortney family, folks, David, Joanne, Arthur, and Sean. Well, back then Sean gave me a WWJD bracelet which I still have and Artie gave me one also. I wore the one from Sean for years and years and I still have it, but now I wear the one from Artie. A very simple gift one might think, but it made me think. Over the years this family traveled with Carry The Light and when we would sing, they got involved. First, setting up and taking down equipment and then singing with us. I remember how those boys loved the song, "Can He, Could He, Would He?" Well, Dave and Joanne, so you know and all honor and glory to God, your little ones made an impression on me. A simple gift back then that is still giving today and I can use the simple gift today to relate to others, to witness to others that things we do, even what might be so simple at the time, can make a lasting impression on someone for Jesus, or if done wrong, the impression could be used for evil. Brothers and sisters, I often look at the bracelet and think about just that, What Would Jesus Do? Put Jesus first in your life in all you do and never let Him get out of that number one position.
You say you try and keep Jesus on your mind all the time? Yes I do! Even when I am in the bathroom, for I have had some really good talks with Jesus while on the toilet. Sort of like a "throne to Throne" talk. Look, He understands, after all He made us, and He made us that we all need that toilet time, and maybe just maybe, He knew that some of us, given that time, might just talk to Him. Folks, why keep a car book or a home and gardens book next to the pot when we could have our Bible and a prayer book? Look, we could even have an old Hymnal in there and you could sing while you go, and maybe once in awhile you would get a "base note." (Did I really say that?) So now how do I tie all of this into "What Time Is It?" Oh, and I guess I could say it is Potty Time, but folks, what I really want to say about "What Time Is It?" is this, It is time to stop wasting time.
Brothers and sisters, it is "time to be working" for Jesus in all we do, and when we get some downtime from other things, that is a good time to plan ahead for what you are going to do next for Jesus. What Would Jesus Do?
I would think that when Jesus first woke in the morning when He was here on earth, He would tart His day talking with His Father (Our Father) Who Art in Heaven. I would think that Jesus would talk to His Father often and we should talking with Him also. Jesus was sent here to earth with a mission and here that mission statement is:
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to SAVE THE WORLD through Him." (NIV)
So now Jesus was sent to this earth to save us from our sins, and to save all of us, not just you and me but all who would believe. Now since God knew us before we were in the womb, He also h ad a plan for each of us, a good plan, and if we would have lived as He wanted us to, He would have revealed that plan to us. Today I have gotten long, so tomorrow I will bring out the scripture for you that shows how God had/has plans laid out for us. So that we do not waste time until tomorrow, let us start now with some prayer and get talking to and with Jesus.
Dear Father in Heaven: When I was in school, I wasted a lot of time, and since I have been out of school I have wasted a lot of time by not knowing or understanding it was indeed time to be working for You. Today I ask that You send the Holy Spirit upon us and through us so that we may fall in love with the Holy Spirit and keep it growing in us day after day. Please help us with this, and help us to walk with Jesus, talk with Jesus and to follow Jesus in all we do. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Now go forth, walking, talking, praying, listening to Jesus and of course sharing His blessings and loving on Him and on everyone you see or meet. And also know this. I love ya. Pass that on, please. Pastor Dan

Tuesday 10/8/2013 What Time Is It? (2)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You, I truly do, and I give thanks and glory to You for a great day. Thanks for a wonderful sing-along and for You being with us. Thanks for watching over our families and friends and watching over this line. Thanks for supplying all my needs and all my meals this day. Father in Heaven, please put a message on my mind and bless it for me and help me to write it, then dear Lord, please dispatch it for me. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, it was and still is a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. We were out doing a sing-along at The Bridges this morning and we had Martin Martin Jr. with us and our new little man did wonderfully. Please pray today first a praise prayer for John Lieb as he is up, out of the hospital and looking well. Please pray for Curtis, for Craig, for Grant, for Patsy, for Barbara, for Burt, for Dolores, and for the Ministries of Carry The Light. In the very near future we will be posting some "work dates" for our annual pick and pack day and also our distribution day. Both days are really a lot of fun. It is hard to believe that we are into the second week of October and getting ready for Christmas. That leads me to ask all of you, "What Time Is It?"
Tuesday, October 8, 2013, What Time Is It? Day Two.
Mark 13:34 - "It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. 35 Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back, whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, when I look back at my days at John Harris High School (class of '59), I can remember how I would watch that clock. It seemed like it took forever and a day for that clock to move from 3:00 PM to 3:05 PM when that dismissal bell would ring. "Time will pass, will you?" It just seemed to take forever and ever until that bell rang and then it was out of the building into my car and off to work. What time is it? You would hear that being asked, What time is it? I want to look back on that saying that was written under the clock. "Time will pass, will you?" As people try and figure out when Jesus is coming back, maybe when they look up they might hear Jesus talking to them. "The time will come, will you be ready?" Again I want to bring out to you that as we stand watch over and over we need to be working those fields of harvest so as to get others ready who might have been like me when I was in high school: I would watch the clock while I could have done some home work. Again I thank God for Pat Wells, now Pat Pierce, who helped me so much in my final year in school. If I did not understand something she could tell me in a way that I did understand. Bless her heart, I will never forget that help. Pat is a Christian and I am sure this day she is helping to get folks ready for heaven, which just might be the next day's assignment in our world today.
Now I know that Jesus gave us a way to laugh and have fun, but can you picture this? God the Father gathers together His Son Jesus, and Old Gabe, the angel with the horn and a few others and tells them it is time. Picture Jesus stepping out on a cloud of light, which is the way He is coming back, and Gabe plays the trumpet and then with a mighty shout, Jesus yells out, "Ready or not, here I come." Once again today I want to pint out a few things that we have been commanded to do while we are waiting. We are to be standing watch, but we should be doing this.
Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)
The good news, of course, is Salvation Through Jesus, and we are to be telling everyone we see. Tell them this!
So what else should we be telling them? Let me get one more for today. "What Time Is It?" You ask. It is time to tell them this. Here is what, or should I say whom, you need to get into Heaven.
John 14:6 - Jesus answered: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (NIV)
I want to bring out one other thing today. The time might come when you would need to be willing to lay down your life to get the word of Jesus, the good news, out. Will you be willing to do that? I am sure if we must do that, we will be rewarded in Heaven for it. Look here.
John 15:13 - "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (NIV)
Would you lay down your life for Jesus by going into the fields of harvest to warn others of His coming and the good news about that coming? Yes, that would be laying down your life for Him. I know I would be willing and I am sure others of you would be also. Well, let me see. "What time is it?" Time to get busy for the Lord.
Now go forth, my dear brothers and sisters, and remember, we have work to do. So let us get moving, and start by sharing our blessings, living for Jesus and telling others this or something like it. Love ya. Pass it on.

"The time will come, will you be ready?" Monday 10/7/13 What Time Is It?
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the rain You are sending us right now. Thanks for all that You do for us each day, and thanks for forgiving me of my sins, because Jesus died for me. THANKS, JESUS, I LOVE YOU! Jesus, I just needed to shout that out this morning, for indeed, I do love You, and thanks for loving me while I was doing a walk-about without You years ago. Thanks for watching over our family, our ministry team, this line, and sending us so many blessings that we have plenty to share. Now, Lord, if You would be so kind as to watch over our president and his family and all of our leaders in Washington and in our country regardless of how they lead or were hired to lead. Bless our military men and women and please keep them safe and bring them home soon. Now, Lord, please, please bless me with a message to write and then please dispatch it for me. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Good Morning, dear brothers and sisters. Thanks for being part of this line and by doing that, being a part of Carry The Light Ministries. I do have some sad news, I guess, because I have never done this before. I have asked, over and over again, for folks not to just wholesale send things that have been forwarded over and over again and have these silly (and that is what they are), silly statements on the end that say send it to ten others on your list and back to the one who sent it and Jesus will give you special blessings. Most of it has stopped, but sadly I am going to be putting a blocker on one or two people. Sorry, but it was one of those that crashed my computers, and I want to protect them. I hope you all understand. Do these things bother any of you? Some of them have been forwarded around for years and years and years. Like the Pepsi thing that removed Under God from the Pledge. That never happened. Folks. Okay, folks, please today pray for our leaders and our military. Pray our president comes to God, that someone will reach him in the name of Jesus and that he would get on his knees to God and not bow down to other countries' leaders. Our military needs our prayers, they really do, as do our police officers and firefighters. Pray for them, please. Let me get now to the message, WHAT TIME IS IT?
Mark 13:32 - "No one knows about the day or hour, not even the angels in Heaven, not the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, how long has it been since someone came up to you and asked, What time is it? How long has it been since you went up to someone and asked them, "What time is it? Maybe your Mickey Mouse watch that you purchased back in the days when you were in love with Annette broke. Maybe Mickey's arm broke off. Or like me, my fake Rolex broke; the hands fell off. Even when I first retired years ago, I put my watch down. Found myself asking over and over again, What time is it? Friends would tell me, get a watch. My cell phone has a clock on it, so I could check that time. But if I were to ask you today, What time is it? What would your answer be?
I think it would be nice if we who really love Jesus would have an answer that would go like this:
Someone says: Pastor do you know what time it is? And the pastor would say something like this: Time to come to Jesus!! There are some preachers who I refer to as "end times preachers" who spend a lot of time trying to figure out when Jesus is coming back. That is a waste of time for if we could ask Jesus one on one, even He could not tell us for He does not know. But I can tell you this, and I can say it because it is in the Bible. So if someone comes to me and asks, Pastor Dan, do you know what time it is? I could, and I think I will start saying it. "It is time to repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near!" It is time to be "Born Again." Since we do not know when Jesus will come again, our job, and when I say our, I am not just talking about pastors, priests, gospel singers, or missionaries, etc., I am talking about all of us, including you and me. It is time we really get working on getting the word out, or telling others the good, good news. And brothers and sisters, what is that Good, Good News? It is Salvation through Jesus Christ.
Here is but one place in the Bible where I get to show people "What Time Is It?" "Time to repent!"
Matthew 3:1 - In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the desert of Judea 2 and saying, "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." 3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, Make straight paths for Him.'" (NIV)
Then I go to:
Matthew 4:17 - From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." (NIV)
Now brothers and sisters, I like to put the scripture down for you and even type it out. But please get out your Bibles and check me out. You need to always back up what you are told about Jesus by looking in the scriptures. Dr. Charles Stanley tells those who watch him that same thing. Take your Bible and to Bible study and look things up yourself.
Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for Your Word and thanks for all You do for us. Thanks for the inspired Word, and Lord, thanks for inspiring me to write on it. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
Now, brothers and sisters, please go forth loving on Jesus and everyone else and sharing your blessings. Love ya. *Pass it on. Pastor Dan.
*Pass it on. You may pass on anything I write, but it will not get you special blessings. What I mean when I put down Pass it on, I am talking about passing on the Love of Jesus and you can do that by just loving others. Amen

Thur/Fri 10/3-4/13 The Old Rugged Cross
Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for another really nice day. Thanks for a good night's rest and for waking us this morning. Thanks, Lord, for watching over all those on this line, our families and our friends. Thanks, Lord, for those who support the ministries of Carry The Light, and thanks, Lord for those who come to get food. Lord, I just ask that You keep the blessings coming our way according to Your will for us. Please be with those on our prayer lists, and thanks for the improvements in Sarah. Now, please, dear Lord,if You would bless me with the message and then dispatch it for me, I sure would appreciate it. And Lord, be with those in Washington, and I pray that they would come to understand that the only way our country will work is if we work it according to Your will. In Jesus' wonderful name, I pray. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, good morning to all of you. Please add to our prayer list today "Leslie" and pray God gives her wisdom and understanding. The other day I took a look back at our playground and "The Old Sliding Board." Today I want to talk to all of you about "The Old Rugged Cross." So let me get right to it.
Luke 23:27 - Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." (NIV)
Luke 23:43 - Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." (NIV)
Luke 23:46 - Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into Your hands I commit my spirit." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, the other day I talked about how I would stand as a child and look up "The Old Sliding Board" and how I would try and climb it. I would try and slip backwards, but then I would try again and again and as I grew and got stronger, I reached the top. Now my life is different, and today I am taking a look up at the cross, to try and get a picture in my mind what it might have been like standing at the bottom of the cross with Jesus on it and looking up into His eyes as He closed them the last time, and He did it for me. I just wonder over the years how many nails I have driven into Him by my sins and actions, and looking into His eyes and trying to say to Him, I am so sorry, Jesus, and then He answered me with that scripture, that quote from Luke: Father, forgive Dan, for he does not know what he is doing. Now, my dear brothers and sisters, please, please take my name out and put in your own name. Close your eyes and picture the cross and Jesus on it. How many of the nails are yours, or did you place the thorns on his head?
Now, brothers and sisters, we take a look at those on the crosses beside our Lord. Which one are you? Both men are sinners, both are about to die, and one talks down to Jesus, but the other stands up for Him. Say this with me, folks, but only if you really believe it. Lord, You died for me,please, Lord, as I picture You on the cross today, I ask that You forgive me of my sins, for I indeed believe in You. I now can picture this next part. I tell you the truth, Dan, when it is your time, I will see you in paradise. After you have prayed, will you then put your name in place of mine?
Now as I keep looking up at "The Old Rugged Cross," I can picture Jesus giving it all up and saying what is recorded in Luke. "Father, into Your hands I commit my spirit." So now I picture me saying this, Jesus, I love You, and I want to be with You someday, so today I want to commit my life to You and ask You to send Your Spirit, the Holy Spirit, upon me. Will you join me in praying that today?
Dear Jesus, I love You and I want to be with You someday, so today I want to commit my life to You and ask You to send Your Spirit, the Holy Spirit, upon me. In Jesus' Name, I ask this. Amen.
Now, brothers and sisters, after that I can think of nothing better to do than to sing a couple verses of "The Old Rugged Cross." (You expected something different?)
The Old Rugged Cross
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
the emblem of suffering and shame.
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
for a world of lost sinners was slain.
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
til my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross
and exchange it someday for a crown.
To the old rugged cross
I will ever be true.
Its shame and reproach gladly bear.
Then He'll call me someday
to my home far away
where His glory forever I'll share.
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
til my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross
and exchange it someday for a crown.
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
til my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross
and exchange it someday for a crown.
Dear Father in Heaven, I love You. In Jesus' Name, may I walk toward You each and every day of the rest of my life. In ask in Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now go forward working for Jesus and sharing your blessings and knowing that all blessings come from God. Love ya. Please pass the Love On. Pastor Dan

Wednesday 10/2/13 The Old Sliding Board
Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for a great and wonderful day. Thanks for the load of bread that was received into the food pantry. You are so good. Lord, today is Wednesday and we here on this line call it "Salvation Wednesday." So Lord, I pray today for the unsaved that they will come to You and that You will use the saved among us to bring in the lost. Please also watch over Dr. Mendellson and Dr. Lupinacci. Please be with Kathy, Burt, Patsy, and Vicki. Also, Lord, please touch the Saylor family. Now, Lord, if You would be so kind as to help me with the message and then dispatch it for me, I would appreciate it. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Prayers today, brothers and sisters, for Doctors Mendelson, DDS, and Lupinacci, MD. Please pray also for the lost, and keep those in Washington in that group. Pray also for Vicki. Also, Lord, pray for the Jehovah's Witness ladies who came to our house the other day. I got to plant a salvation message on them, pray they received it. We Christians need to take some lessons from them, for how often do those from mainline Christian churches go out and work the streets or the marketplace? Prayers for the Saylor family. Traveling prayers for Pam, Patty, and Alan. Now let me get to the message, The Old Sliding Board.
Salvation Wednesday, October 2, 2013, The Old Sliding Board!
Psalm 27:1 - The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid? (NIV)
Back when I was a child and a paperboy, I used to hang out at the Luce Street Playground (right, Bobbie). We played pickup baseball. We would just hang out and then there were days when we would try going up the sliding board on the slide part. I did find out a few things about that old sliding board. First, if the board was slow, more than likely some kid went down with wet pants. To make it fast, we would sit on wax paper and that would make it really go fast. So we would get it going good and then try walking up that slide. Now when I look back, I think sometimes about that slide and going up the down slide and how I would get part way up, slip and down. I would then look up again at the top and start to run up again, and slip I did. You might say this is what my Christian walk has been like. I want so badly to really follow Jesus, and I have for a long, long time. I want to follow the light, but once in awhile I slip and seem to fall back a tad, but now, NOW, I can truthfully say that I get back up, pray, dust myself off and set out to follow that light again. I can picture Jesus as the light of the world and on the top of "The Old Sliding Board" and He is encouraging me to come on, come on, come on. As a child I would keep on running up The Old Sliding Board, and once in awhile I would make it to the top. Now each day I look up and pray and I try my best to keep my focus on The Light, my guiding light, your guiding light. Jesus is our light.
Our scripture today calls the Lord my light and my salvation. He is also my stronghold.
Today I want to encourage all of you to keep your eyes on Jesus, focus on Him, and walk toward The Light and in the footsteps of The Light. Some days we might slip, we might fall, we might even slide back a tad, but we can look up as I did at The Old Sliding Board. So, my dear brothers and sisters, let's climb, let's climb toward the top of The Old Sliding Board, and keep in mind that Jesus is waiting on us, and I am sure there are outstretched arms waiting to greet us some sweet day. Let's call that landing on the top of The Old Sliding Board HOME, and keep your focus, folks. Let's pray.
Father, forgive us of our sins, forgive me of my sins, and Lord, help us to keep our eyes on You and help us to share the good news of Salvation Through Your Son Jesus. Help us help You, Jesus. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth sharing Your blessings and telling others of the love of Jesus. And keep Your eye on the Lord as you climb toward Jesus. Always forward. Love ya. Pass it on. Pastor Dan

Love ya. Pass it on. Pastor Dan

Mon/Tues 9/30-10/1/13 Many Parts
Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for all You do for us. Thanks for watching over our families and the families that work with Carry The Light Ministries. Father, thanks for the new families that have been coming in need of food and thanks and all glory and honor to You we have enough food in stock to help all families who have asked. Thanks for sending help to us. Thanks for the great weather and thanks for Jesus. Jesus, if we would just learn to follow Your footsteps and Your lead, we would be so much better off. Help us with it, dear Lord. Now, dear Lord, please, please help me with a message for today, and Lord, I am sorry yesterday that I was so tired that I did not get it done for You. Please after blessing me with the message, please then dispatch it for me. In the name of Jesus, I give all honor, praise and glory. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, it has just been perfect in the weather department here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. After clearing the driveway this morning of the 5 to 6 inches of snow (okay, just seeing if you are awake) ... Anyway, it was and is just beautiful as we see the start of the leaves changing color. If there is doubt in anyone's mind about God being in control, tell them to go and watch a real artist at work as God paints the mountains and trees. In the meantime, we are still picking tomatoes out of our tomato garden. Prayers today for my dear Aunt Romaine, not that there is anything wrong, just because she has been on my mind today. Pray for Dan Stoner and his family. Dan has cancer. Pray for Patsy and Burt and also Barbara from York and Barbara from Florida. Keep praying please for the Saylor family and for Eleanor to get home soon. Please continue to pray for Dave, Duane and Neil as they travel on their final singing tour across Canad. Pray also for Curtis and his family. Let me get to the message now.
Monday/Tuesday 9/30-10/1/2013, Many Parts.
1 Corinthians 12:12 - The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 If the foot should say "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of smell be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body. (NIV)
Let me relate this to something a bunch of us "car nuts" or "motor heads" will understand. One of the neatest things about working on an old car, and I mean an old car, is looking for the parts to try and complete this old treasure that we car nuts have. Not too many years back, a dear friend of mine, Tom Mozer, was restoring a 1957 Chevrolet, and yes, in that '57 Chevrolet red color. I remember going all around the Carlisle fairgrounds looking for different parts for the car. Years ago when my son Keith was about 14, we were looking for parts for his first car and first truck. The truck, a 1951 Ford, and the car, a 1963 Ford Thunderbird. Keith even painted his truck in our garage at home and it looked great. A man who painted refrigerators showed Keith how to paint, plus he took auto body at school. But the fun, the fun was finding the parts and putting them together and getting it running.
I think in amazement of how God made man, and when you stop and think about it, all of our parts were made from, yes, from dirt. Then when He made Adam a helper, He pulled a rib from Adam to make Eve. Think about it, folks. Keith and I walked miles and miles at car shows hunting parts for old cars, and the fun is in the hunt.
I want you to think about the scriptures today and how God really made us, how many different parts He uses. How He formed all of those parts to make them work together. Just think of what the body feels like when things are not working. Let's go back to the car. If the spark plugs get messed up, the motor gets a miss in it. We get a new set of spark plugs, put them in and back into business. If we get miss in our body, maybe it is just a cold or something like that and maybe with a little chicken soup and some rest we are back together. Sometimes we need to take our car to the garage and get the oil changed for over time the oil gets dirty and needs to be cleaned up. Sometimes our bodies need that same thing. Think about it now, you people older than sixty. My mamma, bless her soul, once a week gave me a spoonful of cod liver oil, to "clean me out." And clean me out it did. Mamma told us we needed to drink a lot of milk, and we needed to drink water and to lay off those Pepsis, but to this day, I sure to love my Pepsi, but I also drink a lot of milk. Think of all the parts of a car and think of all the parts of a person. Both amazing. In cars we have master mechanics, and we people have Dr. Jesus. Master Mechanics have mechanics or mechanic's helpers working under them. And Dr. Jesus, well, He gave a lot of people brains to be doctors and work on people. Dr. Jesus, all the glory and honor is Yours this day for making man and woman, and also for making those cars.
But now let us take a quick look at the Church, and in any church there must be some structure. Now God has handed down special gifts and those gifts are really needed in the church. Tell me, what good is your church if the preacher comes to preach, and the choir comes to sing, and the minister of music puts together the music, and then after the service someone gathers up all the offering and gets it counted and to the bank, but then the church is locked until the following Sunday? Wait a minute, who took out the trash, who cleaned the floor, who cleaned the pots in the restroom? People have special gifts, some gifts are those of caregivers, those who help and pray with those who are sick. Please do not let that all up to your pastor. Look at the gifts of music that have been given to those who work with the music in churches. I watch Dolores as she plays for church and she works with that gift that God gave her. Over the years I watched "Miss Kim" as I respectfully called Kim Murphy, the Minister of Music at Hope Church, as she made a very small choir sound really, really good, with the help of God, of course. Special gifts, and churches need all of them. Gifts that come from the "Holy Spirit." Gifts that come from our Good Lord Jesus. When you look at all churches, if people would just use the gifts that God has granted unto them instead of maybe being jealous of others' gifts, the churches would grow and grow. The best gift, of course, is that gift of Love, and those who really have that gift need to be the greeters at the door and to be sure they welcome people of all colors. God's gifts to us are many, some have more than one gift. Do you know what your gifts from God really are? If you go to church, do you use your gifts or do you just sit in your same stink (same pew) each week seeing if someone might lay a blessing on you? Folks, share your blessings and watch what Jesus does with those blessings coming back to you. Let's pray.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the special gifts and thanks for giving me a gift to pastor and to love. I pray all folks have that great gift of Love that Jesus gave to all of us. Yes, Jesus gave each of us the gift of Love when He took away our hate on the cross, and Father, I give thanks for that right now. Help us to walk with You, Jesus, each day. Oh, and Lord, thanks for those great days I had with our kids hunting car parts, and thanks for the time I got to spend with friends working on old cars. Help us, Lord, to be with You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now go forth, sharing the Love of Jesus, sharing your blessings, and maybe even sharing an old car part. Oh, and signing up to share a part from your body, when you get called home. Share, share, and love, and love some more. Yes, and I love ya. Pass it on. Pastor Dan
