Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for a great day, and thanks for helping us get some work done. I love You, Jesus, and I ask that You forgive me of my sins. Thanks for being with our prodigal sons and daughters and walking with them until they decide to come back. Thanks for standing by with them. Dear Lord, comfort Linda in the going home of her sister Barbara, and dear Lord, please be with K-9 Boomer who is very ill. Now please, Lord, help me with the message and then dispatch it. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: After long hot dry spells, oil works it way to the top of blacktopped roads, also drippings from cars and trucks lays on the highways. When we get a quickie rain, those roads get slick in a hurry. The defense, SLOW DOWN.
Hi, brothers and sisters. Please keep Linda in your prayers, as she struggles in the home going of her sister. Also a request from Donna in Whitehall, PA, to pray for her dog Boomer. As you know, we love our pets. The last two weeks we have had a wonderful little dog named Sweet Pea attending our church service with her master. Sweet Pea is a resident of The Bridges. Last day today for Faith and Heroes. Before I get to that, I want to remind you again that next Saturday is our annual picnic at Willow Mill Park. Come hear some good Gospel Music, eat some good food, and have fellowship with others. Also coming this year, a few of the families that have been helped by Carry The Light Ministries. Now let me get to the message of today . Friday, and yes, I know it is Saturday.
Friday, June 28, 2013, Faith and Heroes (Day Five).
Once again I want to clear the air, no one, not one person either from the Bible or from today is ahead or equal to our Lord Jesus.
Luke 10:25 - On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" 26 "What is written in the law?" He replied. "How do you read it?" 27 He answered; "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and, Love your neighbor as yourself." 28 "You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live." 29 In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man,he passed by on the other side. 32 "So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'" 36 "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?" 37 The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise." (NIV)
My her from the Bible today is of course the Samaritan who stopped and helped the injured man. The others could have done the same, but they decided to wash their hands of it, not to get involved. I get a dick out of this, of all the things the ACLU tries to get God out of, they seem to have forgotten that over the years many laws are on the books to protect those who stop and just help out at accidents, etc. Many of those laws are referred to on the law books as "The Good Samaritan Law."
Do you know that on our highways, if you are first on the location of an accident you are REQUIRED to stop and render help the bet you can?
So the Samaritan went and helped the man and even paid others to help him. The Samaritan stepped out in faith to help someone he did not know. He did not know what religion or race the man who was beaten was when he decided to help. What about you, folks? Would you step out in faith to help someone in trouble? Would it make a difference if they were different from you? Men, would you give CPR with mouth-to-mouth to another man, or would it need to be a woman that needed it? I had that choice one time, and I did what I had to do. What about those who passed on by? What should happen to them? On judgment day I am sure they will be held to task by Jesus on this one.
So now you have my Bible Hero of today, who might be my hero of today? For this I could pick many, however, I am going with my friends Dave and Joanne Fortney's oldest son Arthur, or known to me as "Artie." For as long as I can remember, this young man wanted to be a firefighter and a first responder, so as to help others. He was not concerned about pay, even though he wanted to make it his life work someday. Well, Artie has helped many a person as he walked this part of his life and set examples of how we need people that do that. As I said, I could name others, and here is one from my past. His name, Robert Lee Coburn, and he was my assistant at Central Dauphin, a fire chief at Colonial Park Station in Colonial Park East of Harrisburg. He was also on the truck the afternoon of my motorcycle crash. He, like so many men and women, are running into burning buildings when others are running out. We have a lot of Good Samaritans riding on those big fire trucks, doing it for the love of God and the love of their fellow man. Today all of us put a lot of faith in them, we have faith on the highway if we are in an accident these Samaritans will show up to help us. We have faith in them that they will crawl out of bed if the alarm goes off during the night.
Dear Father in Heaven, please bless these Samaritans that we call firefighters and first responders. Watch over them and keep them safe. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings. And love your neighbor, your Lord Jesus, and be a Good Samaritan. Love ya. Pass it on.

Thursday 6/27/13 Faith and Heroes
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks so much for helping me with my messages that I have been writing and thanks for the rain we have been getting from the storms that are passing through. Lord, help me with this message of today, and please then see the message gets dispatched. All honor and glory to You, dear Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: If you do decide to drive into water overflowing our streets, please put down your cell phone and hold your steering wheel with one hand and hold your nose with the other. It will help you hold your breath a tad longer as YOUR CAR SINKS WITH YOU IN IT. Use your brain, folks, and help save some rescue workers a job or maybe even their lives. As they tell you, "turn around and don't drown!"
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I want to get right to the message of today, going way back in my Bible for my choice of a female hero from the Bible days. I am sure God had faith in her, even though she failed at first, but she rebooted and got back on track. Congratulations to Grant and Wanda Crockett for 43 years of marriage. Today our ministry team got to share part of their special day with them. Again, Congratulations! Now let's go to the message ...
Thursday, June 27, 2013 ... Faith and Heroes (Day Four).
Genesis 2:18 - The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone, I will make a helper suitable for him. ----------------------------------------------------22 Then the Lord God made a woman out of the man, and he brought her to the man. (NIV)
By now you know I am talking about my Bible her of today, being Eve. We all hear the bad things about Eve, about how she picked fruit from the tree that God told them not to touch. Of course Eve blamed it on the snake and then gave a bite to Adam, who took that bite on his own and he, when confronted by God, blamed it all on Eve. Just like a man, blame it on their wife. But let's not forget that Adam and Eve were not just the very first man and woman, but they were also the first sinners. That is right, both of them. Now when Eve was made she was made from the rib of man. Now for her sin of picking that fruit, she, along with Adam, were banned from the garden of Eden and could no longer "run around naked." But let's just forget about that sin for a minute and think about what was placed on the shoulders of Eve when she was created. Think of this, Adam was given all of the animals and birds and fish of the sea to take care of and every plant of every type to raise in a garden. Now along comes Eve, and you just know, you just know, that on that very first Sunday Adam said to here, Eve, please tend the garden, feed the fish, milk the cows, feed the other livestock, and feed also the birds. She said to Adam at this point, what are you going to do? He said ... "I am going to watch some football or play a round of golf!" Now you all know where I am coming from. God did not just send Eve to Adam to go forth and increase in number, but that is what God wanted them to do, but they also needed to take care of the farm, so to speak. And you just know that Adam would feed, and give the "clean up to Eve." Come on, men, admit it. The bottom line is I picked her as my female Bible hero because, even though she sinned, she still picked up and carried her share of the load.
So now what about those female heroes of today? To this I look at all those ladies, those mothers, who have stayed steadfast to Jesus in raising their children according to God's word, even if for one reason or another had to "go it alone." For those who have followed Jesus, did not get caught up in abortion, but had children, and worked hard to keep the kids in line, took time among all else to get them to Sunday School, and just keep focused in a world that would be so easy to just go the other way. And to the ladies who kept the family going while the men were off to war, thanks for not giving up, but walking still with Jesus.
And now until tomorrow, please share your blessings, raise up your children in the way of the Lord, and know that I love ya. Pass that on.

Wednesday 6/26/13 Faith and Heroes
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for a great day and thanks for seeing us through it. Please forgive us of our sins, please forgive me of my sins. On this day we call Salvation Wednesday, I pray for all of the unsaved, and I pray that You will strengthen we who are saved and give us courage to go forth for You in working in the fields of Harvest. Lord, please keep watch over our prodigal sons and daughters and please help them come back to You. In Jesus' name now, help me with Wednesday' message, sorry, Lord, about being late again with it. The dispatch it for me and help me get working on the Thursday message. I am sorry I am behind in working for You, Lord, for You are never late working for us. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: Say this after me ... Boats float, cars don't!! Please do not drive through standing water.
Hi, brothers and sisters, and yes, I am getting this message out a day late, so as soon as I get this one out I am going to work on Thursday's message. Please pray today for Salvation through Jesus Christ and pray that He will honor you by using you to help bring in the lost. Start by renewing with Christ. In other words, pray for God to clean you again and then get busy working for Him. Let me get to the message today, Faith and Heroes.
Luke 1:26 - In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." 29 Mary was greatly troubled at the words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus." ------------------- 38 "I am the Lord's servant." "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her. (NIV)
Please take time, my brothers and sisters, to read from Luke 1:26/45 to get the full story on Mary being informed she was going to be the Mother of Jesus.
Today I want to talk about a few ladies that I have had faith in, and first I will start with just one of those "Lady Heroes" from the Bible. You just know it would have to be our "Blessed Virgin Mary" so why would I choose her, well, not just for the fact that she was the earthly mother of Jesus and had to tend Him during his baby and early childhood, but by the way she was picked and by the way she answered. Again it sounds to me like she had a choice to accept or turn down the work and that is what it would be, work, that God wanted her to do. Old Gabe the angel of the Lord showed us and talked to her, and here this young mother-to-be tried to understand just what was going on. The angel had to explain to Mary how she would become with child even though she was a virgin, never lying with a man. She questioned that, but DID NOT QUESTION the angel's answer. But my number one reason for picking her as one of my heroes from the Bible was her just saying "I am the Lord's servant, may it be tome as you have said." Without question she accepted what the work was, what the job was that God wanted her to do. She would become the mother of Jesus, she would raise him, only to see what He was put through before and during His death. My Lady hero from the Bible. Tomorrow, another lady hero from the Bible. Or so I think right now.
Now how about a female hero from my life today, one that would NOT be today, my mamma, for all of you know how I felt and still feel about my late mamma. Today I want to tell you about a lady that I met about 20 years ago and who went to be with Jesus at an all too young age. This lady helped me on my way back to Jesus. She stepped me up a notch on my walk back and she helped me learn to read and study the Bible, not just read words. This lady, the late Pastor Karen Engle Layman, was pastor at Hope United Methodist Church and was along with some of the flock from that church had started a church service at the then Silver Springs Flea Market. I had come back to Jesus but was not attending church services each Sunday and started going to the flea market before going to church on Sunday morning. One Sunday morning I heard some singing coming from the grandstand of the speedway and stopped in and sat through one of the services that they were doing. Well, I started to stop in each week and really liked the short service and the music. I was invited to come to Hope Church once the flea market service closed for the winter. So I stopped in and I was made to feel very welcome. It was my first time back in a small church setting after being part of a very large church for a long time. I enjoyed it and started going to Bible studies, and the first was on the book of Mark. Then it was a couple of discipleship classes. Pastor Karen was a top-shelf teacher with a lot of love to give and a passion for sharing the Lord's message. I also was asked to join the choir, and I loved it. And I love that old chapel along the pike and I still do to this day. It was in one of the Bible study classes where I met my singing partner Pamela Bower and even came up with our Ministry name, "Carry The Light." Pastor Karen was transferred to Allison United Methodist in Carlisle and I will never forget the day I received a personal email from her asking me to place her on our prayer list as she had cancer and it was bad. Her daughter Anne has stepped in her shoes and is now a pastor. I missed her, for when I had a question, she, like many other pastors on this line, would be right there to help me, even after she left Hope Church. When I first went to the service at the flea market, I rode in on my motorcycle wearing leathers. One day years after that, after she had been transferred to Carlisle, we had sung south of Carlisle at a small Methodist church and coming back toward home, we saw people walking into Allison and decided to stop and hear Pastor Karen. What a day to stop, for her subject was me! She had changed the name but after starting the message, she stopped and told her flock that this person was in the church, and she had no idea I was stopping. Now once again, I will say that no one stands above our Lord Jesus, but so many have helped me get my focus where it belongs. She was one of those people. The last I was with Pastor Karen, she was very ill, and I told her, if I did not see her here on earth, I would see her at the feet of Jesus.
So where is your faith today? Keep it on Jesus and He will never let you down, but there are times when you need to put faith in people of today. For now, I will say go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Pass it on.

Tuesday 6/25/13 Faith and Heroes
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for a great day, and Father in Heaven, the more we grow in You and the nearer we get, the more and more faith we have. Help us show that faith to others by the way we live each day in our daily living. People need to see Jesus in all of us. Please be with my brother Grant and take way his pain and heal him. Be with our neighbor Elaine and heal her leg and ribs. Be with our neighbor Cristy and heal her painful back. Be with our neighbor Dale and heal his knees, and be with us here as each day we step out in faith to help others. Watch over our flock, both that at The Bridges and also our online flock, as I call the prayer warriors on this line. Thanks, Jesus, for trusting me to work for You. As I have faith in You, thank You very, very much for having faith in me. I have failed You often, and I pray today I will not do that again. Please bless a message for me this day and then dispatch it. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: MEN!! For your own safety at our home and to stay out of trouble with your wife ... put that lid down when you finish and do not dribble on the rim, and if you do, lean it. That is for your safety, men.
Hi, brothers and sisters. Today I want to talk to you some more about some of our heroes of yesterday, and some from the Bible and maybe some others in our lives today. Just to clear the air here, not one of these is ever above my Savior, our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Tuesday June 25, 2013 - Faith and Heroes (Day Two).
Hebrews 11:29 - By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for seven days. (NIV)
Over the years we put faith in a lot of people here in America. So my heroes of today are our veterans. It does not matter if they saw action or were in during peace time. They walked out in faith to support this nation, this one great nation UNDER GOD. Thank you, veterans, for all that you have done to keep our country safe and free and to keep our country so we can preach and teach about our Lord Jesus. Some of my heroes of today are our current military and all those serving our country today.
Lord, please bless them and keep them safe. Thank You, Father. Amen.
In our scripture of today we see them talk about crossing the Red Sea on dry land. That is faith, folks, faith. Now in verse 30 of Hebrews 11 we see how the people marched around those walls of Jericho for seven days. Let me ask you, have you ever gone on a faith walk? I can remember when Pastor Paul and other church leaders from Christian Life Assembly had a vision of this place of land to put a church high on a hill. There was such a piece of land up on a hill just above the prison in Camp Hill, PA. I can remember going up there and walking around and around the property and praying over it, asking God if it was His will to see this property would someday have a church on it and be a beacon for all to see. We walked and prayed and prayed and walked. The land was purchased by Christian Life Assembly and a church was built on it. As the church grew, more prayer walking in faith was done, and more land was purchased and additions were built onto the church.
By faith we must walk out for the Lord. We can pray about something and then sit around until you hear about your prayers, or you can start walking out in faith. Please, when you walk out in faith, keep your eyes on the Lord, keep your eyes on Jesus. Don't give up if your faithwalk seems to take a long time, look at how the people marched around Jericho before the walls fell down.
When was the last time you walked out in faith for/with Jesus? Have you ever walked out in faith? What about when it comes to sharing your blessings? Do you do that off the top of your blessings or off of the bottom of our blessings that come from God? If you give to God from the bottom, it will seem like there is nothing left to give to Him, but if you walk it out in faith and give of your blessings from the top, and if you really do it in faith, you will come to enjoy God's math. So who are my heroes from the Bible today? Well, they are the people who had faith and walked across the Red Sea on dry land and also those who marched for seven days around Jericho. So now you have it for today.
It is time to say step out in faith and share God's blessings. Love ya, pass it on.

Monday 6/24/2013 By Faith
Dear Father in Heaven, I pray this evening to You, my dear Heavenly Father, I pray in faith knowing that You will h ear all of our prayers, and that all of our prayers will be answered and I pray that they will be answered according to Your will and not ours. Lord, please hold us tight, for the more we love You the nearer to You we want to be. The more we love you, Lord, the more we want to walk out in faith for You. The more we love You, the harder we want to work in Your fields of Harvest. Lord, please forgive us today of our sins and then help each of us step out in faith for You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: When you change your clocks twice each year, you are told that is a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors in your house. That is a great safety reminder. Once a year, and I say in the fall, when you change that clock, also change the wiper blades on your cars. You should also change your oil and filter, and you should do that twice a year. So another good reminder is when you change the clocks. If you take care of your car, it will take better care of you.
Dear brothers and sisters: Each day we get together on this line and we pray to our Father in Heaven, and we have faith He will answer our prayer. For a few days I want to tell you about just a few of the men and women in the Bible and some men and women in our times who have stepped out in faith for our Lord. So let's go to work for Jesus and let's step out in faith.
Monday June 24, 2013, By Faith (Day One).
Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. (NIV)
We Christians, we who truly follow Jesus in our lifestyle, and yes, slip once in awhile, but we who truly walk with Jesus, do it by faith. Let us go all the way back to the beginning of our Bibles where it says, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." We have faith that our Heavenly Father made everything right from the beginning. As for me, I have not one doubt about any of the creation story. I have faith that it is correct, and if you believe it, you are also walking out in faith.
By faith we pray each day. And by faith we trust God, or should trust God in all things we do. How strong is your faith? Just how strong? Let me ask a few questions today and let's just see.
Genesis 6:5 - The Lord saw how great man's wickedness on earth had become 6 and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The Lord was grieved that He had made man on the earth and His heart was filled with pain. 7 So the Lord said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth --- Men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air, for I am grieved that I have made them." (NIV)
Now you know where I am going here, I am going back to the days of Noah and the really big flood. Our Lord God made everything and then trusted everything He made to man, and man and woman both really messed up. They became evil, the men and women of the world became part of the world. Seems to me we might be in that same place today. Now in life as we grew up, we had many heroes and here are just a few of mine. My Mamma, my big brother, Mighty Mouse, Batman (I liked his car), I liked Gene Autry (the singing cowboy) and his horse named "Champion" (I think). Yes, as a child we had many heroes and over the years they would change. One of my heroes was a young lady in my high school class, her name was Patricia Wells, and now Patricia Pierce. She helped me with my homework, and without her, the way I worked at night, I would still be in high school. Now, as a middle-aged man (okay, so I am permitted one little white lie today) ... okay, as an older man, most all of my heroes now come from the Bible. Now don't get me wrong here, I do not worship anyone but Jesus and our Father in Heaven, whom I worship through Jesus. One of my heroes of the Bible is Noah, Noah the boat builder. I just wonder how I would have acted if say, it was today and my feet would be in the shoes of Noah.
The Lord would say: Daniel Webster Lehman ... Yes, Lord. I need you to do something for me. What might that be, dear Lord, what might that be? Now that is more than likely how I would answer instead of answering like this: I am ready to serve you, Lord, I will do whatever You wish me to do. In my first answer, and I was writing this as the Lord gave it to me ... you see, in my first answer I was trying to find out what the Lord wanted me to do, before I committed to doing it for Him. But what would I have done if I was chosen by God back then? Well, folks, I must confess I would not have been one of the chosen ones. You do remember that I did a walk-about, Noah did not. He was right with the Lord.
So today, I pick Noah as one of my heroes of the Bible. Along with Noah from the Bible, I would like to dd six men from today. Now one can always get into trouble doing this, but there were six me who when I came back to the Lord and I started dating Dolores and started coming nearer and nearer to God, helped me with my walk. These men, in no certain order, are Douglas Boyer, who is a funeral director and heads up "Brotherhood Native America Outreach." I met him at the same time I met this young man, Timothy Beitzel, whom, by the way, will be singing at our annual picnic. These two men, even to this day, help me when I need help with the ministry. The four other men are Dave, Duane, and Neil, who were and still are great men of the Lord and really great gospel singers. Yes, big tall Dave Kyllonen, Duane Nicholson, and Neil Enloe and Phillip Armenia and also his wife Marie. These men and women of Gospel Music helped me get rooted in living for God. And I want to tell you if you are going to go out and really work for the Lord, and if you have been a prodigal like me, I needed to get rooted in really well. I also had to learn that even after giving all of my sins to God, people from my past will lay one on me once in awhile. As I have said, Jesus is The Man, my main man, and no one comes close to how He is. But these other men, whom for today I will call my earthly heroes and dear friends, will help me, without question, when I ask them a question.
One thing you really need to do is if you are leading someone to the Lord, you need to set them up with a network of people who will help to root them in. Once you get them to the feet of Jesus, you need to try and get them into a good church, and trust me when I say not all churches are preaching the complete truth. Get them into a church where the pastor or pastors preach the complete truth. Be sure there is not a lot of "in-fighting" at the church. You know if you are going to teach a person to swim, and you just take them to the water, tell them this is the river, and you toss them in, they will learn to swim. But some will drown. The same will happen if you help lead someone to Jesus, they come to the altar in church and lay it all out to Jesus. Then everyone leaves and that person is either going to get up and walk and maybe with Jesus, or they are just going to drown and walk away completely from God.
So today by faith, I want to say that I think my faith in our Lord is strong enough that if I would hear God call out "Daniel Webster Lehman" and I would say, Yes, Lord ... And the Lord would say, Daniel, I need you to do something for me ... I pray my answer would be without hesitation, "lay it on me, Lord, here I am, Lord, it is I, Lord, and I am ready to serve You in whatever You want me to do."
What about you? One thing He is calling on all of us to do, and I tell you this each day ... Go forth now and share your blessings. Love ya. (Pass that on, please.)

Saturday 6/22/2013 The Prodigal Son 4
Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for a very good and nice day. Thanks for all those who came to pick up food, and thanks for the fact that by Your hands we ALL are fed. Thanks for those who support the ministries of Carry The Light Ministries. Without You, we would be nothing, without You we would not have anything. Thanks for saving my sorry sick soul from sin and thanks for forgiving me. Please watch over those we list as prodigal children, children of Yours who have temporarily gone astray. Lord, please be with
Matthew, Sean, Rita, Rhonda, Jeff, Sarah, Dan, Daniel, Christine, Ellen, Todd, Sherry, Mark, Kyle, Brandon, Lexi, Holmes, Becky, Jenny, Danielle, Aleks, Greg, Kory, Jelena, Madeline, Arden, Holden.
Lord, thanks for taking care of Grant and thanks for the good report on his body and bones. Lord, help him learn to take it easy, and be with him, please. Thanks for being with us today and everyday, and now, dear Lord, if You would be so kind to bless me once again with a message and then put it in dispatch to where it goes. I love You, Jesus, I really, really do. Forgive me of my sins and sinful thinking. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: Deer are herding animals, so if one crosses the road right in front of you, be very careful, he/she will have friends. Speaking of animals on the road, the other day I was coming back to our home and the road goes right along the creek. A mother and father goose were crossing their peeps from one side to the other. I stopped and watched for awhile and then I honked, and guess what they did? They honked back! Oh, stop it, Dan, you're at it again.
Brothers and sisters, it is a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, just beautiful. It was very busy. I was up early and mowed the grass. Grant and Wanda had all the trimming done, so I just needed to ride the tractor a tad. Anyway, today I want to wrap up the writings on the Prodigal Son. But by all means, we do not want our prayers to stop for these drifting children of ours. Let me get moving on the message right now. Please keep sending in the names of our lost children.
Saturday June 22, 2013 - The Prodigal Son, Day Four.
Luke 15:25 - "Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27 'Your brother has come,' he replied, 'and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.' 28 The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father. 'Look! All these years I've been slaving for you and never disobeyed your order. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!' 31 'My son,' the father said. 'You are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.'" (NIV)
If you look at the last part of this story as we humans might want to do, we sort of understand what this older son is talking about. For here we have two brothers, and let's say this would be on a farm today. One brother asks his dad for money and gets it and then does a walk-about, going far and wide until he is flat out of money, and then he comes back and gets greeted and treated like a king when he returns. In the meantime, the other brother stayed home, worked hard on the family farm and worked hard for his father. After a few years, the one son came back and the father was so happy to see him he welcomed him home and had a big party for him. This upset the brother. Now as humans, we can relate to that, correct?
But we are talking about someone coming back home to Jesus, and by darn, all of us should be excited when a lost person comes back home. And why should we get so excited about it? Now think about it, really think about it. Were not all of us at one time or another the one who might have drifted away from God and are we not very happy that we have a very loving God who has not put numbers on us? Yes, my dear child, our Lord welcomes us back, and he does not say to us, listen, if you do this again, you will not get into heaven. What about you, are you not happy that the Lord wants you back? And I do not know of any family members in our family that would not welcome a lost child back home. I know our kids all pray for Matthew and keep pulling for him to return to God and to his family. When my dear late brother found out he had cancer and was given just a few months to live, he was not sure he would make it into heaven. So I went up to his farm and talked to him and we prayed together. I did not say to him, hey, I told you, but you would not listen, so I don't want to hear about it now. No, I was so excited that he wanted to be sure he would make heaven. I was not excited about him having cancer ...
Will one of you, any one of you, tell me about your prodigal son/daughter story, about your walk-about on someone in your family? How did you handle it? God is good.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Gosh, folks, I really love you all. Please remember our picnic two weeks from today. Bass/baritone singer Timothy Beitzel will be with us with music starting at 11:00 AM. Picnic is served up at noon, and then back to some more singing. Tim is one really great singer of gospel music. If any other gospel singers happen to be there and want to sing, we surely will let them. Pam and I will more than likely do a couple of old hymns. Also some of the folks who call on Carry The Light Ministries for food help will be coming to the picnic. Our flock from The Bridges will be coming over by bus. A lot of our family members will be there. It is going to be a great day. Listen to this food line-up. Like a lot of older folks, I am a soup and sandwich person. So we are having turkey corn soup and also BLHT veggie soup, and it is really good. BLHT = beef, lamb, ham, turkey, all in the soup base, and then in goes everything but the kitchen sink. As for the sandwiches, we will have hotdogs and BBQ's for starters. And desserts!!! Cake and pie, and pie and cake. Cookies and other goodies. Plus sodas and water to drink. Please, no booze, do not bring it. If you do, you will be asked to leave and take it with you. Please RSVP at 717 691 8200 with your name and how many are coming. Now, folks, let me end today by saying this ...
I love ya. Pass that on, please.

Friday 6/21/13 The Prodigal Son 4
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Thanks for giving us another day here on earth and another day to live and work for You. Thanks for all the calls we had today for people who want to come for food, and thanks even more for the fact that You have our helves in good shape for us to be able to help others. Thanks for all You do. Please be with our prodigal children or friends as we put their names before You. Please watch over ...
Matthew, Sean, Rita, Rhonda, Jeff, Sarah, Dan, Daniel, Christine, Ellen, Todd, Sherry, Mark, Kyle, Brandon, Lexi, Holmes, Becky, Jenny, Danielle, Aleks, Greg, Kory, Jelena, Madeline, Arden, Holden.
Now if You would be so kind as to bless me with another message and then see that it is dispatched, I sure would appreciate it. In the meantime, Lord, please, please forgive me of my sins of the day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: Please take time to check all of your lights before going on the road. The hardest one to check is our stop lights. So here is how you do it. Push down on the brake pedal, then jump out of the car and run real fast to the back to see if the stop lights are on. Just kidding, folks. If you can, use the buddy system. If not, put your snow brush to work. Push your brake pedal down and wedge the brush between the pedal and your seat. Then check your stop lights. See, and you thought your snow brush was not good for anything in the summer.
Dear brothers and sisters, let us get back to the messages on the prodigal son, and let's get to the message right away today for today is when we see how our prodigal is welcomed back. By the way, welcome to summer, it is the very first day of summer. Wow, how time moves on when you are having fun.
Friday, June 21, 2013, The first day of summer. The Prodigal Son, Day Four.
Luke 15:20 - "So he got up and went to his father, but while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him, he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. 21 The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' 22 But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again, he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate. (NIV)
You do remember this all is a quote from Jesus, as it is one of His parables that He used to teach back then which by the way is still good for this day and a good example of that is, we are using it right now to teach about the prodigal son.
So we find our lost son with a prepared speech to make when he got home. He was going to tell his father how sorry he was and would he just be able to be one like a hired servant. But let us take a look and see what happened to this lost son, and remember, this is how our Father in Heaven will react when one of those lost ones we are praying for return.
The father of the lost son was so excited to see his lost son coming back that he ran out to greet him. This is how it is when I decided it was time to come back. Our Father did not wait until the day when I made it home, He really came to get me, He sent many people along the way to help me. I remember how I would talk to a nun who would come to our service station for gas, she knew I was down and I told her what I was going through. This lovely nun told me to just hold tight to God for He would have something special for me, something so much better than what I lost. He really sent me a new circle of friends, friends who helped me up when I was down and stayed with me as I went through my coming back. I can remember my two daughters coming to the house one night with some food and saying "dad, you are going to start eating or we are going to jam this food down your mouth." So I started to eat. God just kept sending people to help me. One that came and stayed was Dolores. She took me to meet her friends, this gospel singing group called The Couriers, and I just fell in love with the music, and she fell in love with motorcycles, as I was a biker and loved to ride. You see, our Father in Heaven is not going to sit back and watch, but once you make the move, He will be right there with you. He will walk out your return, regardless of when or why you drifted away. HE WILL WELCOME YOU BACK. You are one of those sheep that The Shepherd left the flock for. I was one of those sheep. I love the picture of Jesus holding the lost lamb, for I can picture myself as that lamb. Never give up, my dear brothers and sisters, in praying for your loved ones to come home. Tomorrow, I want to finish out the story of the prodigal son, so on this Saturday I want to show you what happens to some who are saved and did not drift and how they handle it when someone comes home. The example might be able to be used in your church, for I know in some churches some of those who have stuck with the church and never left have trouble when someone who was there, left for a long time, and then when they decided to come back, were welcomed home. But what about those who never left? Tomorrow we find out.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Pass it on.

Thursday 6/20/13 The Prodigal Son
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for another great day and thanks for watching over all of us and for watching over me. Thanks for forgiving me of my many sins, and Lord, please forgive my sins of this day. Please, Lord, visit those people we are referring to as Prodigal or lost sons and daughters and please, Lord, walk with them and help them to meet people along the way that will turn them around and have them coming running back to You. Here now is our list as of right now.
Please watch over Matthew, Sean, Rita, Rhonda, Jeff, Sarah, Dan, Daniel, Christine, Ellen, Todd, Sherry, Mark, Kyle, Brandon, Lexi, Holmes, Becky, Jenny, Danielle, Aleks, Greg, Kory, Jelena, Jadeline, Arden, Holden. Thanks, dear Father, and now, dear Lord, bless me, please, with Thursday's message, which I know I am a day behind on, and then dispatch it, please. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, right to the message today as you see I am running a day late getting it out. Again, we work on the story of the Prodigal Son, and of course Daughters are included also.
Today, as I have done before, I confess I was a prodigal son. What is your story, were you raised up in the Lord and did a walk-about? No shame in it, the shame would be if you never came back home to Jesus. Let's get going on the message.
Thursday June 20, 2013 (Last Day of Spring) - The Prodigal Son, Day Three.
Luke 15:17 - "When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him; 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.' 20 So he got up and went to his father." (NIV)
The above words were Jesus being quoted, brothers and sisters.
So what do we see going on today? To me, the number two son, the prodigal son we have been talking about, reached the lowest point in his life and now he finds it is time to go back to his father. To me this is his first step in his coming back to his father, or as in the story it is the sinner's first step in coming back to Jesus. I can't help but wonder how many people came to God either as a prodigal son or daughter, one who was raised up in the way of the Lord, or one coming the very first time. And they are coming from a place in their life where it seems like all else has failed. That was, folks, how it was with me. I was raised up in the Lord, I drifted, and even though I would go to church now and then, I was not yet "Born Again". I did not give it all up for Jesus and start growing in Him. Then it happened, my second marriage went down the drain when my ex took off. I thought the world came to an end. It really had me down, down to the point I did not care about anything, not even myself. Friends tried to help, I was sent to a shrink, who was worse off than me. Then a pastor told me to get hold of myself, do something good for myself and start walking with the Lord. I can remember one day getting on my knees and asking God to watch over me and turn me around. And God did not fail, He was there all along, I just needed to call out and ask Him into my life. That was over 33 years ago, but I can remember it. I was on my way back, but I had to get face down, face down in the pigpen so to speak, when I called out ... HELP ME, JESUS, HELP ME. The bells must have been ringing in heaven that day, for my mamma and dad got to see their little Danny turn and start heading toward home. On my way back, and I can relate to it best as trying to go up a sliding board by running up the slide part. As kids we would do that, run up, fall and slide back down some, and keep trying until you made the top. That is the way it is today for a lot of folks. Have I made it to the top? NO, NOT YET, but I keep working at it. I keep going up the slide and then sometimes I slip a tad, but I get right back up, pray to be forgiven, and get going toward Jesus again. Jesus is my Savior and I am His son and I am proud of the fact that I am "Born Again" and pray that I would never slip and stumble, but I do know I have a loving Lord waiting to catch me. He loves me, He loves me and I LOVE HIM. He is number one in my life, ahead of all else. He is at the top of that sliding board and I am going toward Him. One thing about my climb now is as I go up that board, I want to have others in tow, I want to bring others to His feet. I know a few of you on this line who have stories sort of like mine, some who were even going to church, one woman I now really well, everyone thought things were great, yet she was abused. She knew the Lord then, but still had to take a setback to get going again and God walked her through it. God is good, there is only one that never sinned, and that was Jesus, all the rest of us, all of us, are just sinners, saved by grace. Yes, I was a prodigal son, and now I walk with Jesus. Next lesson we find out how the father reacted when the lost son came home.
Now go forth and share your blessings. I love ya. Pass that on, please.

Wednesday 6/19/2013 The Prodigal Son
Dear Father in Heaven, thank You so much for a beautiful day here in Central Pennsylvania. Thanks for being with us in all we do, even if we forget to call on You. Please be with us now and please, Lord, we open our prayers today for loved ones who we are going to list as prodigal sons or daughters, and we ask Your help on this Wednesday that we call Salvation Wednesday. Please, Lord, bless me again with a message and then please speed it along the way. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: This safety tip is EASY: Go EASY on the gas, go EASY on the brakes, go EASY on the steering, go EASY with your temper that leads to road rage. If you learn to go EASY when driving, you will get better fuel mileage, you will use fewer brake parts, you will save on tire wear, and your vehicle will last a lot longer. So folks, take this tip, slow down and take it EASY.
Dear brothers and sisters, what a great day, and brothers and sisters, I had a really good response listing loved ones who we need to pray for. I am listing by first names, and while you might know a name that is listed, it might not be the person you are thinking about. Please send in those names of those who should be on our prodigal son/daughter list for prayers for SALVATION. Let's list them and I will start with the two from yesterday:
Matthew, Sean, Rita, Rhonda, Jeff, Sarah, Dan, Daniel, Christine, Ellen, Todd, Sherry, Mark, Kyle, Brandon, Lexi, Holmes, Becky, Jenny, Danielle, Aleks, Greg, Kory, Jelena, Madeline, Arden, Holden.
Now brothers and sisters, we will pray for them and keep adding to the list. Prayers help, and please, if you get a chance, always remember to SPEAK UP FOR OUR LORD JESUS. Now we go back to our message on The Prodigal Son. And I am working from the book of Luke.
Salvation Wednesday, June 19, 2013 - The Prodigal Son (Day Two).
Luke 15:14 - "After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in the whole country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything." (NIV)
So you remember from yesterday this young man took his inheritance early and headed out. Then he ran out of money and had to do something that some people here in America should learn from. After he ran out of money HE GOT A JOB!! The Bible tells us, in the words of Jesus, who is being quoted. There was a severe famine in that whole country. Meaning there just was not enough food for everyone. So our prodigal son hired himself out. In our country today we have a lot of people who need help in getting food, some families have real needs, while others it is just, well dare I say, people who just do not want to go to work. Some who come for food make more money not working than if they would go to work. Others have quit jobs because when they went to work their welfare handouts were cut back. We have also found out that some people will pick up food at a food pantry or even more than one, pick out what they like, and then THROW THE REST IN A DUMPSTER. Do you believe that? It is a fact. Don't get me wrong, we need to be helping the needy, but we must also try our very best to teach the folks who come in for food that they also need food for the soul. Again, that is what the story of the lost son, or prodigal son, is about, about the one who has walked away from our Father, walked away from our Lord.
Brothers and sisters, we have it pretty good here in America. There are programs out here, be by our governments or through churches and other groups that provide a lot of help. Our dear Lord Jesus also has instructed us to feed the poor and put clothes on the naked. By doing this we will be honoring what our Lord wants us to do. Each person who comes to Carry The Light Ministries for food help also gets help feeding their soul. They always get prayed for and over, we question them about Salvation, and you can really tell if someone is lying or does not even have a clue about being saved. Remember some people, even here in the good old USA have never been taught about Jesus. Beside being ordered to feed the hungry, we are also to take the Good News to all creation. Let me see, nothing like handing out food while you talk to them about being saved. As we help people there comes when they also must reach out to God and pull themselves up by their boot straps (so to speak) and get it done. Like our young man in the story, our prodigal son wanted to eat the food that was being fed to the pigs. Now that sort of reminds me of my first job back in my youth. I needed a job, so back then in the city we had to keep our food trash separated from our other trash. We had a garbage truck pick up those food scraps and they were fed to pigs on the Heagy Farms in Dauphin, PA. I had a job with them ... "$50 per week and all I could eat!" I made that up, folks, I worked at service stations. But let me say this, the gentlemen and ladies who pick up our trash at our home are just that, fine ladies and gentlemen working hard for their dollars.
Okay, our prodigal son is longing for something to fill his tummy and no one will give him anything. So please come back tomorrow and let's see what happens next.
Remember, brothers and sisters, please send in your prodigal sons/daughters and others who need prayers for salvation. Maybe it is you right now who has slipped and fallen and needs help and prayers. Do not be afraid to list your own name for prayer. You need to seek out the Lord, and sometimes you need help doing just that.
Dear Father in Heaven, you have seen the names on our list so far and I am sure there will be more. Help us get these folks to You to be saved. Open their hearts to hear the message. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings. And remember our picnic, Saturday, July 6th. Tim Beitzel, the young man with that great baritone voice, will start singing at 11:00 AM. This will be held regardless of weather. The location is Will Mill Park. All food is furnished, and you will love it. Come share your day with us. Now remember, share those blessings. Love ya. Pass it on.

Tuesday 6/18/2013 The Prodigal Son
Dear Heavenly Father, thanks for another day of life here on earth, and thanks for all the prayer support that is coming in from readers on this line. Please, dear Lord, hear their please and mine also for healing of my body from pain. Please also keep my mind open and free of clutter so I can keep on keeping on for You. Now, Lord, please open Your word to me and then, please, Lord, deliver the finished product. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, I am overwhelmed by the prayer support coming in for Dolores and myself. I hated to add burdens to any of you, yet we are a group of prayer warriors, and right now I feel I need that army of prayer warriors speaking on my behalf. I was lying in bed and I just had to get back up and get to the computer and work for God. I pray all of you had a great day. God has once again pointed out to me a parable from the Bible that fits me well, and that is the story of the Prodigal son. Of course, ladies, I am sure some of you have been Prodigal daughters. For this parable I am going to the book of Luke. Let us get started and see if I can wrap this up this week.
June 18, 2013, The Prodigal Son: Day One.
Luke 15:11 - Jesus continued: "There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father, 'father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them. 13 Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living." (NIV)
As I look back to my youth and I was the younger of two sons, I wonder what might have happened to my backside if I had gone to my dad and mamma had I said "hi, may I have my half of the estate now?" I am sure the answer would have been like, "WHAT ESTATE?" I also remember one day a few years back when I was working with my daughter Danelle at our ministry food pantry. It was on one of our distribution days and I can remember saying to her, we are giving you kids' inheritance to the poor and needy. She told me that was okay, God will take care of us. Neat, right?
Of course, as we know, the parable is just that, a parable, and the real story is about us being raised up in the way of the Lord and then drifting away. And yes, I did just that. My dear mother would see that we, my brother Leonard and I, got to Sunday School and church and I even had to go on Wednesday for prayer meeting. She also wanted me to sing in the choir and although I would not admit it back then, I really did like it. I also had to go to Vacation Bible School, and I would think, this is vacation? But I did learn a lot about how to treat others and how we should love Jesus and obey the commandments. I did pretty well with that and so did Leonard until mamma died back in 1959 and then it was like a downhill ride for awhile. Gosh, how I loved my mamma and still do, back then I did not understand that I should not love her above Jesus, but I did know I needed to love her more than I loved my 1950 Ford, my 1947 Oldsmobile Convertible and my 1937 International Panel truck. Yes, I did understand that, but I did/do have that deep love for those things called vehicles. I can remember standing at the cemetery when mamma was buried feeling so alone. There were a lot of people there, but I was all alone, or so I thought. No one, not even our pastor, came and talked to me about walking with Jesus. So while I did not squander my money on being wild, I did bury myself in a lot of work, just so I could have nice vehicles. My brother also was a prodigal son, and he walked away, in fact about ten years ago, when he found out he had cancer, he called me and said he did not think he was going to heaven. So before he passed away he came back to the Lord, which I had done a lot of years before that.
Parents, please do all you can to raise up your children in the way of the Lord, because we do have a promise, and it is in this story, if we raise up our kids in the way of the Lord and they do a walk-about, or drift from the Lord, they will also come back. I know right now we have a prodigal son, and we just keep praying that we will see the day he comes back to Jesus. I have other dear friends who also have a son drifting around and we keep praying for him. There are times as earthly parents we must let go and let God, so to speak, that we just cannot be with our kids all the time, so we must trust them to God. I am sure that my mamma did just that before she went home, for she knew she was on her way.
Above all else, folks, I want you to know and understand this, if you have drifted from our Lord Jesus, He not only wants you back, He really wants you back. Our Lord is more concerned about the ones who are lost than all of them that are already saved. Brothers and sisters, if you have family members that are lost sons or daughters, or maybe right now you are one of those, how about sending me their names this week, first names will be just fine, and let's list them for all of our prayer warriors to start praying for. I am going to post two of them today. One is Matthew, and one is Sean, and those boys need our prayers. Matthew belongs to Dolores and me, and Sean belongs to Dave and Joanne, both boys belong first to God and have been fully turned over to our Lord Jesus for His care and protection. So how about it, let's get praying for those lost kids of ours this week while we work on the story of the PRODIGAL SON ...
Dear Father in Heaven, I pray today for all of our lost kids and pray for by name, Matthew and Sean. Please, Lord, touch them, heal them, and bring them back to our Lord Jesus. In the name of Jesus, we lift our children. Amen.
Now folks, send in those names, even if you are not sure. Of course it could be for not just a child, but even a parent or a sister or brother. Now go forth and share those beautiful blessings that God has given unto you this day. Love ya. Pass it on.
Pastor Dan
Monday 6/17/2013 Prayers Please
My dear brothers and sisters, I need to call on you to really pray for me. As I sit at my computer today, I am in so much pain, and I really hate to say a word, for I know just how much pain my dear Jesus had put upon Him for my sins and the sins of others. And yes, I piled a lot of that pain on Him. Over the years, since a motorcycle accident back in December 1990, I have had a lot of pain, but lately the pain has really consumed my thinking, the pain just never lets up. I do believe 100% in the healing power of our Lord Jesus, however, I have not let it out to get on prayer chains to get additional prayers going to our Father in Heaven through our Lord Jesus. I want all of you to know that I am NOT GIVING UP, on anything, in fact Dolores and I want to move out even more, stepping out for Jesus. But I find that the pain is taking over my whole being for now, if indeed that can happen. So my dear brothers and sisters, please in your next prayers, ask our Lord to relieve me of some pain, so I can get back on schedule working for Him.
Thanks, brothers and sisters, and yes, you may place my name on your other prayer lists ... Pastor Daniel Lehman, Mechanicsburg, PA.
I will try and get a daily message out tomorrow. Thanks for all you folks do, and now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya (pass it on).

Friday 6/14/2013 More promises from God!
Dear Father in Heaven. Please forgive us for our sins, please forgive me for my sins. Thanks for all You do for all of us. All glory and honor to you, dear Father, all glory and honor to You. What a perfect day this is, dear Lord, and I pray that You will watch over those we have been praying with and for those who just need Your touch this day. Now lord, please, if You will bless me with another message and see that this old computer will dispatch it. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: Two ducks were swimming in a lake and watching humans swimming in the area that is marked for people to swim. One duck said to the other, I pray those humans will not pee in our lake. The safety tip. If you have a place along a river or lake and you have small children, put a life jacket on them, EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT IN THE WATER. Kids have a way of just getting out of sight. Let a life jacket be part of their summer fashion when you spend time at the beach.
Dear brothers and sisters. Dear friends of mine had a small section of an island along the Susquehanna River. When their kids were little, they were in a life jacket all the time. Even at night when they were in their mobile home, the kids had them on, just in case they woke up and would go down to the river. Their mother, Judy, drove bus for Central Dauphin School District and was a trainer working for me at the district. She used that same safety standard in her driving also.
One last day working on Promises from God. I am nowhere finished for God has promised us so much, if we just love Him, but I have been praying for a new subject and look forward to see what He might lay on me for next week. Let me get to those promises of today.
Genesis 1:26 - Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground. 29 Then God said, "I give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, please take time to get out your Bible and just take time to read all of Genesis Chapter One. I am just not typing out all of that. If you DO NOT have a Bible, do not be ashamed to let me know, and Carry The Light Ministries will see that you have one. For you who have children in school, you need them to be armed with the creation story, for it is the TRUTH. The promises of all of this, God took a week, six days in all, to create all of the things we have today, or He made the things necessary and gave man/woman the brains to make things out of what He made. Example, the computer. Think about this, my dear brothers and sisters, God made all of these things for US, yes, He made it all for US. He had everything set up that we would ever need, in other words right from the start He supplied our needs.
After God made all of these things, He then made man and woman, starting with man. And brothers and sisters, He made us in His image. So when you want to see what God looks like, LOOK IN THE MIRROR, and if you want to see how God wants you to act, LOOK YOUR BIBLE!! What great promises are found in this very first chapter in our Bible. And brothers and sisters, God did make this world and all that is in it and He made the heavens and all those stars in the sky, He made it all and He did it in six days. And please do not try to tell me that days were longer back then. No, it is the same sun and the same moon on the same rotation, so folks, just read your Bible and enjoy it. And then, folks, GOD gave it all to us, He gave it all over to man and then woman. And right here, folks, is where you know that God wants a marriage to be between man and woman, one man and one woman, for that is what He put on the earth and then said go forth and increase in number. Listen to those promises. He made all of this and then gave it to us to take care of. And then what happened when we did not take care of it, and we did not live up or try to live up to what God wanted for us, what happened then? Maybe someday He will give me that message again. But let's say we had one MAJOR rain event. God gave us a lot, He gave us everything we have that is good, for all things good have come from God. So that is the first promise that I want to review with you today.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through Him. (NIV)
So this promise from God is that He sent His Son to us, and folks, this happened and it is history, but you will not find it in a history book other than The Bible or in books written by those who love God.
The promise here is that Jesus came to save the world, not condemn it. And how is this one man going to save the world? Listen to me here, He is going to save this world ONE SOUL AT A TIME. This saving is between Jesus and the one being saved. Yes, we who love Him will work for Him and try to get people to the feet of Jesus to be saved, but Jesus and only Jesus can save you in the end. Brothers and sisters, we will have eternal life, we can enjoy it with Jesus in Heaven, or we can burn forever in Hell. You need to make the choice. Now let's wrap this up with one last promise and maybe the very best of all. They say you save the best for last.
Revelation 22:7 - "Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book." (NIV)
Revelation 22:20 - He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen, Come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. "Amen." (NIV)
Revelation 22:12 - "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done." 13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." (NIV)
So what is this great promise I leave you with, as I wrap up this series of Promises from God? Here it is, I am going to tell it to you right now ...
Jesus is Coming Back and that is a promise right from Him. Did you hear me? I said JESUS IS COMING BACK! Are you ready if it happens today? Once again, did you hear me?
I said: Jesus is coming back! Jesus is coming back!! Jesus is coming back!!!
Now go forth and share your blessings and be sure to tell everyone this. Jesus is coming back and that is a promise, not by me, but by Jesus Himself. He really is coming back. Please do not wait a minute longer to ask Jesus into your heart. Ask now. Dear Father in Heaven, forgive me of my sins and save my soul, come into my heart and my life and live and Jesus, help me follow your Word in all I do. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
I love ya. Pass it on.

Thursday 6/13/13 Some more promises
Dear Father in Heaven, I love You very much. Please clean me of my sins and clear away all the clutter from my brain. Thanks for the blessings of this day, all honor and glory to You, dear Lord. Please visit our prayer list and then visit those on the list, acting on them according to Your love and grace and of course Your will to be done and not ours. Thanks again for the rain and for all that is fed by the rain. In Jesus' Name, I give thanks and pray. Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: Raining? When you turn on the wipers, you must (it's the law) turn on the headlights and, and, AND, SLOW DOWN. Please hook up common sense driving with the pedal left of the gas pedal, that is the one that slows you down. (Amen)
Brothers and sisters. What a great blessing we received today. We paid a visit to the Bread of Life food pantry in Newport, PA, and they donated to us about 250 lbs. of hamburger. The last burger I purchased was over $3.00 per pound. You do the match, and I love God's math. Some of the things on our shelves are low, but our meat freezer is full ... GOD IS GOOD!!! Please pry for ll those who have lost their homes by storms, twisters, straight line winds, and fire storms. Did you see the little girl that needed lungs, received them on Wednesday? Please pray for her, I forget her name. I think it is wonderful how everyone got behind her in her time of need. Now if we could just get the ball rolling on Life! Let's stomp out abortions. Do you know where your church stands on this subject? You should try and find out, the answer might surprise you.
Time to get to the message, and yes, I am still working on Promises from God.
Thursday, June 13, 2013: Some more Promises from God. Day (oh, I forget what day)
Romans 11:29 - For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable. (NIV)
Romans 11:29 - For God's gifts and His call can never be withdrawn, He will never go back onHis promises. (NKJV)
Let's look back on our lives today. Looking back can be fun, and it seems the older I get the more I look back and enjoy looking back. I can remember as a child making promises to my mamma and then breaking them within a day or two, sometimes maybe before a day was even over. But that was kid stuff, I guess. Yes, mamma, I will be good, I PROMISE. I will not make a mess, mama, but I did, and then I would say, I will clean up my mess, mamma, and to this day, I have not cleaned up the messes. In other words, I broke the promises that I made to my mamma.
Now let me ask you the question, can you think of a time in your life, or maybe times in your life when you broke a promise? Did you ever purchase something, maybe from a friend, and then did not honor your promise or promises? Let me go farther on this. When you purchased something and you made a promise to pay for it, did you carry out your promise or did you just sort of stick that loan company? One thing we can count on, above all else, God will NEVER BREAK A PROMISE. He will uphold all of them. PRAISE GOD FOR HIS PROMISES AND FOR NEVER BREAKING THEM.
Luke 21:34 - "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away." (NIV) This quote is from Jesus!
Again we see as recorded in the book of Luke, the promise that Jesus will keep His Word to us and all others. Heaven will pass and so will earth, but the Word of our Lord will not pass. God fulfills His promises to us.
Malachi 3:6 - I the Lord do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob are not destroyed. (NIV)
Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (NIV)
Each day when we get up, things have changed somewhat. The other day we went a short distance up to the town of Carlisle. While I have been to Carlisle, this time we went up a different road, and everything looked different. More buildings, more houses, more warehouses, everything seemed to have changed. But there were a few things that were the same. The sun came up in the east and was setting down in the west. Just one sign to show me that our Lord never changes. He is in control and He is in love with us, just the same as when He died on the cross for us. The promises He makes He keeps and we can count on it. He walks with us, even when we want to walk out on our own. Brothers and sisters, try this after reading the message. Stop and pray, tell God you're sorry about walking away from Him, and ask Him to forgive you and give you a fresh start. Then after talking it over really well with God, WALK WITH HIM DAILY, TALK WITH HIM OFTEN DURING THE DAY. Know that when you walk out with God, He will be walking with You. He will light your path and keep you from falling. Our Lord will never fail us, so let's do our best this day not to fail Him. Now let me wrap it up today by asking you to pray along with me.
Dear Father in Heaven, I confess I was lost but now am found. And today and forever each day from now on, I want to walk with You. Help me with it, Lord, clean me, wash me, and take care of me and help me to bring in the lost as I work and walk with You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share those blessings, and just keep on loving others. And yes, I love ya, and you can pass that on.

Wednesday 6/12/13 Yes, more promises
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for another great day. Lord Jesus, I love You very much and pray that all people will come to know and love You. I pray that I can get the messages out right for You so that Your word does get out. Please protect Your people from the storms that are coming through are area tonight and tomorrow. Lord, be with Jan Dellinger, daughter of Pat & Burt Emig. Janis to have a double biopsy on her breasts and we look to You for healing and a good report. Please also be with Patsy and Burt and heal them and be with them as they stand by their daughter. Thanks for all that You do for all of us, and now, Lord, please on this day we call Salvation Wednesday help me with the message and then deliver it to the masses. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: A stop sign means just that. STOP!! That means the wheels on the vehicle are stopped and then you check traffic. Amazing how much better you can check traffic if you really take time to STOP and look.
Brothers and sisters, new to the prayer list today is Jan Dellinger, who is having a double biopsy, checking for breast cancer. Pray for a good report. Today is Wednesday, meaning it is Salvation Wednesday on this line. Let me get right to some more promises from God.
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life is Christ Jesus our Lord. (NIV)
A promise from God, one we might not like, but it is a promise ... we get paid to sin. YES, it tells us right here in the scriptures. The wages, or our pay, for our sins is DEATH!! Let me see, I must ask this, I just must. If the wages of sin is death, I just wonder how much of those wages the IRS is going to want to take. I just can't help myself some days. Check this out, same scripture that promises us that the wages of sin is death, we find the promise of God in the form of a gift, and the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE.
Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. (NIV)
Yes, I love this one. The promise is that in ALL THINGS, God will work them for the good of those who love Him. Sorry, this promise is for those who love Him. And it is also done according to His will for us. And that, dear brothers and sisters, is the way it should be. Sometimes I hear people just say that all things come together for good. And they stop short of saying for those who love Him.
Let's look at one more promise today. This one from Nehemiah ...
Nehemiah 8:10 - Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is our strength. (NIV)
First, let's look back in the day of Nehemiah, who, by the way, is the shortest man named in the Bible, back in the day people prepared things for the needy as we should be doing today. If we follow the commands of our Lord, if we obey Him, if we come to Him, that will surely please Him, and we can truly say when we see joy in our Lord. "The joy of our Lord is our strength." Amen.
Oh, and Nehemiah, being the shortest man named in the Bible. Yes, he is, listen up and learn. Nehemiah, pronounced "Knee High Miah." Yes, some days I just cannot help myself.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya. Pass it on.

Tuesday 6/11/13 More Promises
Dear Father in Heaven. Thanks for another beautiful day and a day to get out and sing and talk about You to and with others. Thanks for keeping this line open for Your word. Lord, be with those ones on our prayer list and please also be with Pastor Larry and his wife in the home-going of Larry's dear mamma, Stella. Lord, thanks for all the promises that You have made to us, and thanks for giving us faith to believe in all of them. Now, dear Lord, if You would bless me with another message and see that it is received by others and help to find its way to those who need it. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: To keep your teeth in good state of repair, brush them often, see your dentist and don't drink at a fountain where others PUSH!
Dear brothers and sisters, it is a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Please keep our ministry partner Grant Crockett in your daily prayers. Reminder about our picnic on Saturday, July 6th. Good food, good fellowship, and really good gospel music. Remember, it is rain or shine, and if it snows, you will not need to shovel it.
Please do not be offended, I have had many, many offers to join someone's Facebook. I DO NOT DO FACEBOOK. For those of you who do Facebook, please remember this, once you put something on the internet, it is there forever and ever. Tip - The bet place to find out the fact is in the Bible. It is 100% the Truth. Let's look at a few promises.
Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. (NIV)
Please do not look at the promises from our Bible as being outdated or that they were meant just for some. These words are the truth today. When you have things wrong with you, let us say you are sick, maybe even down for a time, the word of the Lord from this scripture tells us to be strong and courageous. So folks, listen to the word today, be strong and courageous. The scripture goes on to tell us "do not be afraid or terrified because of them." So who is the "them" of today? It could be different for any one of us. For some it might be the neighborhood we live in, and we seem to worry about it all the time. Be strong and courageous, do not let anyone trap you in your own home. Call on the great protector, our Lord God. Do not be afraid of your past if you have given it over to God. I don't know of anyone who would want his/her life to become an open book. Do not e afraid of your past, let the world know you came to Christ and you have been forgiven and God will protect you. Learn this part of this great promise today, please. Regardless of what you have done in the past, call on God and find this out ... "HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU."
Joel 2:28 - And afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out My Spirit in those days. 30 I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 31 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. 32 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (NIV)
Don't you just love these promises given through the prophet Joel? Let's look at the promises, as there are more than one here. "I will pour out My Spirit on ALL people." Our Lord is going to pour out His Spirit on all people, even those who do not believe. Brothers and sisters, please learn from this. What God is pointing out to me is that we really must love others. No excuses, if we want the blessings of God we just cannot HATE OTHERS. Oh, and that next line, "your old men will dream dreams" ... I guess that is me, for God is still planting things on my mind to do. I REFUSE TO STOP WORKING FOR GOD.
Check this out in Joel 2:32 - And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
This is everyone, folks, all we need to do is call out and believe. And as I talked about yesterday, go to work for God. But the promise is for EVERYONE, all of us, each and every one of us. Regardless of a person's color. Just today we sang this ... Red or yellow, black of white, makes no difference in His sight, Jesus loves the children of the world. Please take the example of God and love everyone, and then call on the name of the Lord to be saved. And I think it is a good time to do that right now. Let's close up today with a sinners' prayer, calling on the name of the Lord to be saved. Hey, brothers and sisters, this is an "I" prayer, you must do this one for yourself. I will just lead you.
Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me today of my sins, and today again I call on You to save me. I am not worthy of this, but You have made a promise and I cam calling You out, dear Lord, on that promise. So, dear Father, in the mighty Name of Jesus I ask to be saved and renewed again and put to work for You. Thanks, Father. In Jesus' name, I ask my prayers. Amen.
Now go forth and share those blessings that God has granted unto you. Love ya. Pass it on.

Monday 6/10/13 Even More Promises
Dear Father in Heaven. Thanks for the rain this day, the rain sent to us from You to help with our food supply, drinking water and being able to wash. Yes, Father, thanks for supplying our needs this day, for Lord, we know they all come from You. Thanks for watching over us and taking care of us. Dear Father in Heaven, please each day increase our faith in You, and help us to grow in You by increasing our faith. Lord, be with our veterans and our military and also our leaders in Washington, DC, and in each state house across this land. I pray today for peace, peace on earth, not just in America but world-wide peace. Yes, Father, please send Jesus back to us. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters: While it is raining here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, it is welcomed because it comes from God. Once again I have been pointed by God to keep on working on the promises He has made to us. Please center your prayers today on our veterans and military, and also our leaders who run our governments. Pray for peace. Also if you have been watching the news, you will have heard that your phone calls are being taped, your Facebook, your Twitter accounts, and even each stroke you make on your emails. Yes,it is by our very own government, and yes, for sure they are looking at these messages. I PRAY ALL OF THEM TO BE SAVED. I pray they will read all I write about. I guess some are worried about "Big Brother." I am NOT, for I have "JESUS." Let me get started with a couple more promises. I will try for two a day.
Monday 6/10/13 Even More Promises.
Ephesians 2:11 - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, 9 not by works so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do. (NIV)
More than one promise in this scripture, brothers and sisters. First of all,it is a promise that we are saved because of Grace. No one can earn their way into heaven by working for God. It does not make any difference who you are, no amount of work can get you into heaven. That is a good thing. Our Father in Heaven sent His one and only Son down to this earth to save us. (John 3:16/17)
We need to come to Jesus to be saved. (John 14:6) Now we are saved by the Love and Grace Jesus gave to us while on the cross, and it is through our faith in Him doing this. This is a gift of God the Father delivered IN PERSON to us. The reason no one can work their way into heaven is so that no one can boast about what they have done here on earth.
I would think that all of you have seen work being done even in your very own church where some try to be, dare I say this, more holy than someone else, and while we need good workers in the church, they first need to be doing it for Jesus, to help others, and not seeking glory on their own.
Now that, folks, is one promise. Yes, the promise of Grace and Salvation.
Now let's look on to ...
Ephesians 2:10 - For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Look at this promise, we have been created in Christ Jesus to do good works, and we have been prepared in advance by God to get this job done. So brothers and sisters, each of us has been created and prepared in advance, not just those saved, but all people. However, those who do not have faith in God, and maybe some who do, do not know they have been prepared in advance to work for Him. WELL, NOW YOU KNOW. And it is right here in our Bibles. That does not mean all of us will be great missionaries or preachers of those big churches, we all have been called and prepared in advance to DO GOD'S WILL. All of us have different gifts and we should be using those gifts for God. We have been gifted by God and also given free will. We need to pray that we will use our free will to do the will of God for us. If your gift is to pastor a church, then by all means if God is calling you do just that. If your gift is to clean the toilets at your church and you are called by God to do that, then by all means get it done. And it might be that He will assign you to both jobs. After all, we are to serve God and serve our brothers and sisters. Amen.
You know, around Easter some churches have feet washing services. However, if you really think about it, weekly churches need "seat washing" services. Someone please laugh ... or maybe even say amen.
Okay, got to go, have a really blessed day, and remember, God has promised you many, many things, one is that when you share your blessings and do it in faith, you will be rewarded. So please share your blessings. Love ya. Pass it on.

Friday 5/7/13 Promises
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the rain and all the things that need the rain. From Your hands the rain falls upon our fields and plants, thank You. Forgive me of my sins, dear Lord, and thanks for dying for me, and thanks, Father, for raising Jesus from the dead so that I might also live forever. Please, Lord, we have lots of prayer requests today. For Barbara, Burt, Patsy, Dick, Curtis, and others who have been on our list, dear Lord, and for Elaine who broke her foot and a rib. For Debbie Wallace who has been falling a lot and has broken her ankle. For Grant Crockett who has damaged his hip, Lord. They say a muscle has been pulled from the bone. And for Miss Woo, a senior Yorkshire who has a lot of problems. For Virginia, Father, who has heart and kidney problems. Please, Lord, according to Your will, bless and heal them. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: When you first get into your car, adjust your seat and mirrors before you start to drive. Ladies, your center mirror is to be set to see out the back window, not your face so as to put on makeup. Also, before you start to drive, the best safety tip a pastor can give you ... PRAY! Ask God to protect you and help you with your driving. (I have seen some of you drive, I will pray for you also.)
Brothers and sisters, Grant and Wanda were to be heading to Pittsburgh for the weekend, instead Grant hurt his hip and will be laid up for awhile. Please pray for him, he is a very, very important part of Carry The Light Ministries Team. You have seen the list as I prayed for them. "Woo" is a K-9 who lives with Jen Quigley who heads up Yorkie Me Rescue. Are you ready for some more promises from God? I am, so let me get to the message.
Friday June 7, 2013 - Promises from God.
James 1:2 - Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed in that wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is double-minded, unstable in all he does. (NIV)
Here we find we are to consider it joy when we face trials of all kinds. Trials here are not the courtroom type trials, but things that happen in our daily walk of life. Family problems, money problems, putting food on the table problems, health problems, and I could go on and on. And we are to find joy in all of this. Yes, that is what the Bible tells us. We are to consider it pure joy. When all these things happen in our lives, it means we are being tested, our faith is being tested. And as we rely on our faith in Christ we will become stronger and stronger in our witness for Him. The Bible tells us we will develop perseverance, and that must happen for us to be mature and complete.
The Bible also tells us this, and here is the promise that comes from God. If we lack wisdom we should ask for it and if we have faith and believe in God and that He will take care of us, in fact He will be very generous when He gives us that wisdom. Again, God makes us this promise but we must have faith in Him to do it.
1 Timothy 1:15 - Here is a trustworthy saying, that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Of whom I am the worst. (NIV)
Here is the promise, brothers and sisters. The Bible tells us that the saying or the promise is trustworthy. "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners." Then the Bible goes on to say that of all the sinners I am the worst!! Brothers and sisters, it is a great saying and a great promise that God The Father sent Jesus Christ into the world to save we sinners. Now I ask you, do you think of yourself as "the worst?" Or do you do it like this ... Wow, and I thought I was a sinner! Or I know I am a sinner, but that guy really is a bad sinner. Who's sin is the worst, one who lies or one who steals? They are both sinners, and God will sort it out, both will be forgiven if they ask in faith.
Let me know, do you want to look at more promises from God next week? There are a lot more of them. Now go forth having a very blessed weekend and sharing those blessings. Love ya, and you can pass that on.

Wed/Thur 6/5-6/13 Promises
Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for just being You. Thanks for our blessings, and thanks for keeping us going. Thanks for watching over those on our prayer list. Dear Father, You are worthy of our praise and the praise of all people. Thanks for all things, and now, Lord, please bless me once again with a message. And Lord, please forgive me of my sins and for not getting the messages out in a timely fashion. In Jesus' name, Amen.
June 6, 1944 ... "D" Day! That would be the day our troops and our Allied troops invaded Normandy Beach, France, and 6,000 of those troops were killed on that day!! SIX THOUSAND WARRIORS KILLED IN ONE DAY! Please take time to give thanks to God for our veterans and our military. Some gave all and all gave some. Go and hug a veteran today and say THANK YOU!! And if you see one of our present warriors in uniform ... THANK THEM!
Dear brothers and sisters, I am behind in my messages, and I am sorry. I do not know where the time has gone. I am going straight to the message today as I group together Salvation Wednesday and "D" Day Thursday this week.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, our religion, and I am talking the Christian religion here, and let me go deeper, I am talking about the Followers of Jesus is based on FAITH. While some folks will ask, how do we believe in someone you cannot see? I will answer first that I have faith, and then I will tell them, for me it is hard not to see God, for as a believer most everything I see, I know God has His hand upon.
'Tis spring, brothers and sisters, and we see almost daily another plant or flower showing their pretty heads to us. I mean if someone really does not believe, where do they think all these beautiful flowers come from and all the food we eat? I mean, it just grows?? I know who makes it happen, for I am a believer. Now the Bible tells me that "He rewards those who earnestly seek Him," so brothers and sisters, all these things we have now, both believers and non-believers get to see. So, baby, we have some special things coming to us who believe. And I for one am going to WALK RIGHT DOWN THAT STREET OF GOLD!! God has been good to me here on earth, and I love cars and I have had a few. I get excited thinking about what "my ride" might be like in heaven. What is faith anyway, brothers and sisters?
Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (NIV)
2 Corinthians 9:6 - Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each man would give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever." 10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God! (NIV)
You reap what you sow, brothers and sisters, is not just for food. It goes in all we do. Now folks, sometimes we do not always see our rewards. Take my mamma for instance, she raised me right, saw I knew about Jesus, and then she was off to heaven, and I was off for a "walk-around"! I drifted from God! But as promised by God, if you raise them up in the way of God and they drift, they will come back.
Let's talk now about giving and helping others. Again, you reap what you sow. Sow a little and your crop is small, sow a lot and your crop is big. But you must do it in faith and be cheerful about it for God likes a cheerful giver. Mamma gave little Danny a nickel and a dime, one for Sunday School and one to spend on myself. After Sunday School, I went across the street and purchased a soda for a dime. The nickel went into the offering plate in Sunday School and I WAS A CHEERFUL GIVER.
Brothers and sisters, our Lord Jesus wants to see us happy, He really does, and if we walk in faith and walk with Him, it will make our trip much more fun and we will reap many rewards. When you give in faith to God, I will tell you this, you will learn to love God's math.
As you know, we have a food pantry, and our network of supporters is growing as are those who come to get food. Recently our shelves were getting low, but we did not cut back, we still gave as if we had plenty, walking out in faith. If we were out of "this" we gave a little more of "that." If we give out more, we get more in, or more dollars to purchase more. When we shop we look for the best prices to be good stewards of God's dollars.
God tells we who believe "You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion." But you must take that step out in faith, sometimes we are like a baby at first. Did you ever watch a baby trying to take those first steps? Parents hold out their hands and that baby walks toward them, taking those first steps in faith, over and over again that baby steps out in faith that mom or dad will be there to catch them. God is like that with us. Come on, STEP OUT IN FAITH, God is there to catch us if we fall!! He really is, and that is part of our faith. Come on, brothers and sisters, it was Salvation Wednesday yesterday, and we need to be stepping out in faith getting more and more people to come to the feet of Jesus. Invite them to church, love them, even if they hate you. Talk to them about Jesus, shake their hands. Try to win one for the Lord. Remember this, someone had to introduce you to the Lord. Now it is your turn.
Dear Father in Heaven, send us forth to do Your work, and thanks for trusting us to get it done. In Jesus' name, I pray and ask You to dispatch this message. I love You, Jesus.
Now go forth this day caring for others and sharing your blessings. Sort of reminds me of my slogan when I had the service station ... "Caring, Sharing, and Repairing." Anyway, be blessed. Love ya. Pass it on.
